Been here before and will return every chance I get!! If this isn't the best fried chicken I've had, it's tied with it (my Granny's will always be #1). Delicious sides(I've tried them alall. The staff makes you feel like family, like their favorite family members, not those cousins, aunts, and uncles you want to avoid!

I absolutely LOVE coming here whenever we drive up here to shop at Sam's Club. It's such a nice treat. Superb service and delicious food. I have yet to be disappointed.

Spicy & crispy & delish! The spicy tenders are so good I drove all the way from Missouri to get me some. The coleslaw is really good and the baked beans are exactly as I’d expect. A word of caution on the fried green tomatoes though! They were so hot I actually burned my face so beeee careful! But overall everything here was great and they have a patio that you can sit on which is pet friendly! You have to order to-go but worth it when you need you to bring your furry friend. Overall this was a great eating experience!

I’ve eaten fried chicken all over the world, Gus’s is the best ever! Yes it is spicy, but not burn your tongue spicy. Enough heat to taste it, but fades fast. Sweet Cole slaw, fried okra, beans, fries as sides. It’s worth making the trip to the Southaven or the downtown location. Very fresh , hot out of the fryer. It’s been five years since I last had their chicken, still just as tasty as I remember! Well worth it!

Very good chicken! Baked beans and slaw are good, but not memorable. Fried okra was very crispy and delicious. Overall a solid meal. Service was a bit slow.

The cup says, “If you haven’t eaten at Gus’s, you haven’t eaten fried chicken.” Well you have never eaten fried chicken like THIS!🫢. Oh my! Incredible! They say it is breaded and fried but whatever breading they use it is like it is just crispy fried chicken skin with a little bit of a spice. ❤️. Never dry, always incredibly flavorful! Don’t be intimidated if it is busy—tables will turn and the wait staff will take care of you! Cindi was awesome—prompt, friendly and efficient. She was great! Every time I come back to the area I have to have my Gus’s chicken—maybe more than once😉 PS also love their greens and Mac-n-cheese—WOW! Worth every calorie😉😁

Ordered 3 piece after the wait time was long(30 mins) which I didn’t mind cause I ordered extra crispy to prevent the chicken being undercooked. Finally my food was served and 2 of the thighs were undercooked. I cut the chicken open to verify if it was cooked to temperature. Blood flowed out into the plate. They offered to cook longer at that point I didn’t have a taste for Gus anymore. It would make sense to cook to temperature of the product and not to the timer. I’m finished with Gus Chicken

This is not a good location. The sides be inconsistent. The chicken was hard. My hunger was curved that's about it. Bew chef please!!!! I will not visit the MS location again.

This location is so inconsistent. I live closest to this location, but the experience at the Poplar Ave location is so much better. The Union Ave. location feels like it really doesn't belong in the Panera Bread brand loop, it feels like a completely independent location that just does what it wants. They never ask for your reward number or even if you have one. When I ask about inputting my reward number, most times they claim the system is down and they can't input it. Don't even bother about doing curbside pickup at this location. You will either be waiting FOREVER or no one comes out at all. This location seems to have some really poor management. I expect Brand consistency and with this location, you never know what kind of day they are having.

I love good food, and I will frequently continue patroning a place with less than great service if the food is good enough. Some time ago I stopped going to the local Panera on Union (Memphis) because the service was absolutely terrible! I received incorrect or incomplete orders no less than a dozen consecutive times before I called it quits. That was over two years ago and I hadn't been back since until recently, when one of my daughters came home with Panera's new Chipotle Bacon Melt. It was AMAZING! I went back within the hour to get another one and it was AMAZING too! That was four days ago, and I have been back everyday since. Also everyday since, I have gotten incorrect (such as the wrong sandwich) or incomplete (lacking a sandwich altogether) orders on every visit. Today, novelly, the sandwhich was the correct type, but came out looking like I'd ordered a sliders version instead of the Whole version. It looked like they cut the ends off of one of their baguettes to make me two tiny sandwiches. I was livid. How inconsiderate/incompetent can one chain be? I am past tired of this treatment. I am NEVER going there again, and I am encouraging anyone I know not to frequent this location again as well. If I could have left negative stars on this review I would have.

Very great and tasty food from the fried chicken, to the baked beans, and mac n cheese... my belly left full and happy! The fried green tomatoes were really good and so were the chicken tenders, although the chicken tenders aren’t as tasty as their fried chicken. The prices were reasonable and the amount of food they give you is plenty. We will come back again the next time we visit town, this place is definitely a must try!

Chicken skin was burnt outside but good inside. Less quantity side fries, beans for the cost. Bread was dry and not toasted. Expensive and not met the expectations.

First time dining here. Prices and meal were really good. Beats all other chicken restaurants. Chicken was really crispy and tastes good. It says it’s a spicy taste but not really. This was my 1st time at this location. The food was good and customer service was even better. Server was very attentive and she had several tables. Service was also fast for us to be dining in. I would definitely go again hands down.

Wow! People told us we needed to try Gus's while we were visiting from out of state, and they were so right. Our waiter Zach took great care of us and even helped us make the right picks for our palettes. Though you can't go wrong with anything --everything we tried was delicious and we got enough so we can make another meal out of it. Mac and cheese and fried okra not to be missed!

Delicious fried chicken!!! The batter is so light yet SO CRISPY. I absolutely recommend this place. If you get a drink and bring the cup back, you also get 50 cents off your next purchase! Service was amazing and our waitress even asked if we waited refills before heading out. Would recommend going to this spot specifically since I heard some of the Memphis ones are not as good.

I could have made better fried chicken at home honestly. I’m from the Caribbean and I’ve had fried chicken all my life and all over the world and I can honestly say I could have made better fried chicken at home. KFC in Jamaica tastes better than this. Super disappointed. Service was great but the chicken was very disappointing. It was so blah I couldn’t even finish eating what I ordered. I give it a 5/10.

If you are looking for southern fried chicken. This is the place. I had the greens, slaw, a breast, and a thigh. Attempted to eat a piece of chocolate chess pie. I lot that fight. I would recommend the thighs. Great time by all.

I visited this place from out of state. Ordered breast, wing, potato salad, and greens. Chicken was hot and juicy. Potato salad was on point. I would recommend eating here.

Walked in on a Friday night (they were a little busy, but seating capacity is about 60%) and we were told to have a seat anywhere. A lady took our order and brought us our drinks rather quickly. About 30 minutes later we walked out without getting our food....they forgot about us and didn’t even apologize as we were walking out. First time to try this place and we won’t be back. It’s unfortunate, the food looked pretty good from what we saw others getting.

I'm not a big fan of spicy chicken but I will say their chicken is not that bad my kids loved it! The mac n cheese is really good! They have good customer service! Walked in, place an order to go and before we could sit down to wait they had it ready to go! Our order was a little on the pricey side but it's worth trying out.

First time trying there chicken. It's actually really good. Love the Cole slaw but didn't care for their Mac and cheese. Seem to be a bit pricey too but since it was my first time I decided to try it out.

I love the flavor of this 🍗 chicken 🍗 the first time I ever had Gus my friend Lucy had it at her wedding 👰 I’m a returning customer to this place a lot of places you go just fry chicken and think they are done guess has some kind of secret sauce they use in the batter it’s not hot 🥵 but has a spice or kick to it I’m not sure what 😮 they put in my mouth 👄 but I love it and want more ....every time in in the south I try to come here but if you live somewhere else I think the fed ex .... seriously they cater too...if you gave this place below a three no one even likes you geeet ou da south!!!

The first time I order I was well pleased. This time I'm not satisfied. Order not made the way I requested.

Ordered curbside but no one came out after checking in, so I went inside. The website indicated curbside to go was available. Upon entering, I discovered my paid order was placed on a to- go shelf, accessible to customers, anyone could have picked it up. Employees had their backs turned and the shelf is placed in front of a service counter. Panera is fairly pricey, but the salad I ordered was barely edible because the lettuce at the bottom was brown. Improvement with service and food presentation/quality is definitely needed at this location.

Portion very small food compared to other location pricey. Good flavor just not enough for the prices. Got pick 2. My husband hated it. Wont eat there again any time soon

Bland, no taste, boring, 9 bucks for 1/2 a sandwich. Said it last time never going ba k. Dont even ask if you want condiments to living up the boring sandwich. Ug!!!

So fast. I'm not a big panera bread person but I was picking up an order there and they were so nice and order was ready when I walked in door. Yeah for them!

Lunch time wait is insane; drive thru and inside. I waited 40 mins inside for a soup/salad pick two. The pick up counter barely announces the person's name when orders are ready. Delivery order like Doordash, Uber eats, etc..pick up at the same counter so there are WAY to many people clustered around a tiny area and everyone just stares at each other every a bag is placed on the counter. Order was accurate however and typical Panera so no disappointment there.

We were half an hour late because we went to the wrong Panera then had to pick it up through the drive thru because we are immunocompromised and despite us accidentally ordering pick up in store they let us get it through the drive thru. Did not get our order right at all. Asked for a BLT sandwich and a half BLT sandwich with a cup of soup. We received a whole turkey sandwich with one piece of bacon on it and as half turkey sandwich with a cup of soup. Got the soup right only. Do not want to eat there again.

Food was ok. Not hot even though it came out of the oven ,however if they had call me when it was ready I could have eaten hot food.

Asked for extra dressing. All three containers were barely ⅓ of the way full. And the salad was missing ingredients. Not worth $11, ridiculous

We ordered pickup and had a minor issue with our order. The manager was absolutely amazing, incredibly kind and accommodating. We already enjoyed Panera a lot but his awesome customer service made us permanent Union Street customers.

A strange location that should be avoided at all costs. The wait time was ridiculous, 40+ minutes wait in the drive through. The cashier was rude and and seemed flustered.

I was disappointed when I gave the cashier at the drive-thru my phone number, to earn my reward points, I discovered when I saw my receipt, I did not see my reward information, because she did not put my phone number in. Also, I ordered a Chipotle Chicken Avocado Wrap, I opened the Wrap, it was a huge folded egg, 2 pieces of Avocado's, with barely any chicken in it, it was horrible.

This store is always out of something and today it was bagels. They were actually out of Bagels at 12 noon.

The food was ok but you don't get much food for what you pay. I got a grilled cheese and bacon and there was only 1 piece of cheese and 1 piece of bacon. My husband ordered a steak panini and it wasn't a panini and did'nt have much steak in it.

Luckily we are just passing through. Burnt bread, cold food. Bad service. 1st time at a bad panera bread.

Food is ok but expensive. This location NEVER had brownies or cookies or any of the stuff other locations offer regularly. If they d do something about their nightmare parking lot I d give a few more stars.

Other than waiting in the driveway for 20 minutes being 4 cars back. It is just a Panera with mostly cheap and not motivated staff, take an average of 5 to 8 minutes to put drive up orders together. It never changes at that location. And, I doubt that site males a profit.

I love Panera, but I'm sad this is the one that's near my house. I got the coffee subscription and would order coffee in the morning to have it ready to be picked up for work. I order at least 20 min in advance thinking that's enough time to have a coffee ready. Only one time have they brought it to my car where I have waited less than 10 minutes. The rest of the times I had to go in to find they hadn't even made it yet. I don't get food, only coffee. This morning I ordered it to be ready inside. they didn't have it ready, (mind you by this time its 7:35 and I asked for it to be ready at 7:25. I ordered at 7) and they told me to make it myself. This is the only panera that truly is terrible. I will not be going here anymore even though I live 2 min away. Hoping no one else has a bad of experience as I always do there.

Had the Roasted Turkey, avocado, bacon sandwich and the awesome broccoli soup. Enjoyed it all.

Ordered online for curbside pickup, but after waiting > 10 minutes had to both call and go inside to retrieve order. Also, one of our three ordered items was wrong.

The waiter was friendly despite of only being 2 of them service took a little over 50 minutes to get food. When i got the food the fries were cold and the chicken warm not hot. They need to staff the place better

Me and my wife stopped in tonight, 10/4. The food was fabulous and our server, Katie, was excellent! Give that girl a raise. We'll be back soon. Best chicken ever.

Monika was an excellent server and food was hot and delish. In our 2 piece white dinner, the wing was Luke warm but the breast was hot and delish. When our server asked if everything was okay we told her our wings were not hot and she pleasantly apologized and brought us 2 just cooked hot and huge wings. My Mac n cheese was not very hot either but it was okay. Love love love their coleslaw. You just cannot find this good fried chicken anywhere but here!

Really good fried chicken. Has a little bit of a spice to it but not a lot. The white meat was a bit dry compared to the dark meat. The crust on the white was also harder. Waiter was friendly.

First and foremost, the service was awesome… Our waitress Laquesha was fantastic! Very attentive and super friendly. Second, man, their chicken is great but their Mac N Cheese, 😋😋😋😋 Lastly, don’t forget the Root Beer Float.
