Lovely meal out last night at Ask Italian. The food was extremely tasty and all pretty fresh and hot. I had arancini for my starter as I wanted to try something a bit different. They were all lovely and I’d definitely have this again! The service was great too, and they were quite attentive considering they were very busy during this time too. Thanks for a lovely evening!

My husband is Italian and I am used to eating high quality Italian food. Our take is, this is a chain restaurant but the food is delicious, fresh and well presented. Don't expect it to be gastronomic but nevertheless the place consistently provides pleasant dining experience. All the staff are very friendly and courteous. Excellent service. Baby and toddler friendly, enough space to park the buggy. Perhaps ask for pasta to be cooked al dente if you prefer.

I'm torn on how to rate my recent experience from dining at Ask Italian southend. The food was as expected, very tasty, the staff polite however although the drinks and later food order were taken in a long but acceptable time, delivery was excessive. It had been a hot day, the restaurant was sniffling and although I don't know the exact timing the drinks alone took over 40 mins. I can only recommend if you are prepared to take over 2 hours.

Had the private room for my sons 18th birthday. All the family had a good time. Highly recommended.

Considering this is one of the UK's most ubiquitous chains this branch is surprisingly charming and enjoyable. All the food we had was well prepared and tasty. Reasonable range and all crowd pleasers. Nothing to rock your world but satisfying stuff. We had an issue with one side of potatoes being undercooked and it was removed without hesitation and without me asking. I confess to being sucked in by the hanging lights and fake vines too!

Never had a bad experience with this restaurant chain and we ve tried a few in different areas....absolutely love it and def recommend.the food is lovely. Things are different with the ordering as all done at table on app but no different to other restaurants..on the plus side no waiting for your order to be taken as you do it when you re ready and add to it as you go along...Great,thank you

Went with my daughter and grandchildren .Staff very welcoming and attentive .Lovely meal and yummy dessert .We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal .We ordered on the app very easy food arrived promptly .It was quite busy so maybe worth booking a table will definitely return

Ordered a take a way, the seafood liguine was tasteless, all liguine and not much fish, bland sauce, different to eating there.

Ambience is good, food is a bit pricey & the quality is not bad but not up to the mark.

Terrible, bland food wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Definitely nowhere near Italian food….. the name shouldn’t even be included in the restaurants name. The worst margarita I’ve ever had. Could get a better pizza from Lidl. Beyond terrible, please don’t waste your money on garbage.

The name says it all should have asked if there Italian before sitting down, whoever the chef is should be ashamed of themselves, when your food is beaten by Pizza Express you should look in the mirror deep and hard, river the chef is obviously that there taste buds is as bland as a snail , paid £55 for food that would be better from lidl frozen section

A great restaurant. Excellent food at a very fair price. Staff always very helpful and friendly. Buzzing but relaxed atmosphere. And always lovely to see young children there.

Enjoyed our lunchtime visit on a Saturday afternoon, wasn't too busy and food came out quickly. Food was well presented, well cooked and great tasting as expected. My only criticism is the volume levels which I suppose is to be expected with people talking over music, but I wouldn't let it stop me visiting again.

Always such great service in the restaurant and consistently lovely food. Personally love the crayfish pasta dish. One waitress who stands out is Maria, always serves us with a smile.

Wednesday night, occupancy approx 20%. Food was average for a chain, starters poor, meat balls way too dry but mains presented well, however only made value for money by the acceptance of Taste Card. Plastic slate imitation serving boards which slid around the table made it feel really tacky. Service was excellent, thank you ladies.

Had such a lovely meal. Attentive, but not overbearing. Andrea and the team were fabulous! Loved the aperol! 🥂

We were greeted at the front door by our waitress who informed us that although they were very full up this evening with bookings she would fit a table of 2 adults and 4 children in. We were sat down at a table that was a tiny bit squashed but that’s our fault as we didn’t book. The food was lovely as always however the service wasn’t up to standard. After our mains we were sat for around 20 minutes with our dirty plates and tried to get the attention of the workers to no avail. Eventually we managed to get the attention of the manager who said he would get the waitress to deal with it (I have no idea why he couldn’t) a couple of minutes later the waitress arrived and took our plates. We then had to wait a further 10 minutes until we could order the childrens dessert and a coffee. This then came out 15 mins after ordering. Again tried to get the attention of the waitress for a further 5 minutes in order to pay the bill.

I ordered the N'Duja and cheese dough bites for take away. Fast delivery and piping hot when arrived. Delicious as usual. And sustainable recycling packaging. Salsa is nice touch to dip your dough balls quite hot though. They didn't give any cutlery or napkins but I am alright with that.

Recently refurbished so looks nice and clean inside. Staff are friendly but the food feels a bit 'ready made' but then again it is a national chain so not sure I would expect more. Tends to be quieter for an early dinner (great if you have little ones) but gets busier later, to the point that I wouldnt go unless I had pre booked. We have been turned away before when going as a walk in. Booking is quick and easy online though as long as you plan ahead..

Table for 4 booked for 1930 ..some things missing from menu...waited an hour for starters ..main course was mixed up .which led to 3 of us eating and 1 person waiting for dinner . Complained to Manager who was apologetic..waived the bill .which was a nice gesture. But we won't be back

Lovely staff. Great food and wine. Only gave a 4 star as they were short staffed and it was quite a long wait.

Food really good, verdure pizza had generous toppings and tasted great. We had the sharing starter which was delicious but a little over priced for what we actually got. Staff friendly.

I liked the taste of the pizza I had, however it only had 3 measly pieces of chicken and a small sprinkle of ham pieces to the middle the pizza. I didn't bother to complain as we had already had to send my relatives pizza back for having a hair on, which they did swap for a new one with no issues. No other issues and would go again but perhaps I'd choose something different.

We were running out of places to get a seat on 12/2/22 3pm, till we arrived outside ASK. We were lucky to get a big round table as their were five of us, and had plenty of room. We had varied choices, I fancied a Pizza as it was a long since I had one. Had a large bottle of beer.. The food was lovely and a few staff came out together with the food. Their was a nice welcome at the door and the staff friendly. Had a nice chat with the lady in charge before i left. It is really a nice place too chill out.
