Not sure why this hotel has good reviews. I was really unimpressed with the rooms for the price, but my major gripes are: - Our party had two bed room even though our block asked for kings - Gave us rooms on different floors, even though we had a block No one was close to each other for our party, which was really annoying. My other complaints are: - No soap our room, and no soap available from the people cleaning our rooms either! They said they were out. Had to use body wash instead. - Elevator needs a key to work, and it’s unresponsive. Super annoying, especially when you’re in it a lot because all your friend’s are on another floor. - No fan in the bathroom so it’s damp - Absolutely terrible quality towels. So scratchy. - Outdated look and rooms, the lobby is the only nice area. The free and ample parking is nice, but that’s it. I would avoid staying here if you can.

Rooms were alright. We found a pair of socks in one of our rooms. The gym and pool (which was 3ft deep) were clean. Staff were helpful. Surprised at the snacks you can order, 18% gratuity + $3 delivery for a packet of cookies? Parking isn’t included in the price, $10 or $25 a day. The restaurant we dined in, located inside the hotel was a weird experience, we had 2 different servers, we were the only people in the entire (massive) restaurant, creepy music was playing, one of our party got locked in the toilet. Food was fine at best.

This review is dedicated to the absolutely amazing service I've consistently received in all my visits (5-6) to this hotel. Joy and Chef Donald, particularly during breakfast, have been absolute stars. They seem to anticipate my needs without me having to ask, demonstrating an exceptional level of service. Their politeness, engaging conversations, and genuine care set them apart. In my extensive travels, hosts like Joy and Chef Donald are truly rare gems. Thank you for everything!

I have stayed at many Westin locations in different countries, and they could vary wildly in the level of service and amenities! This location seemed to be on the high-end side, great first impression with a smooth check-in process with a smile. The restaurant and bar service were great, and the food was way above par for a hotel. All went well until the shower time the next morning! Most hotels are moving to large pumps for shower amenities vs. those small bottles which I love, less waste, and better for the environment! However, they are as good as who replenish or refills them! It is extremely annoying to get in the shower with empty bottles! If they miss this, what else do they forget? This will knock them down from possible 5 stars to 3!

DON’T DO IT! Evening staff is rude, unprofessional, and if you ask for anything they will basically make you feel uncomfortable. Literally heard them making fun of every guest that walked by. Westin needs to better review who they hire because I will never stay at this brand again, stayed 5 nights and it only got worse and worse until I finally cancelled over a week additional and went elsewhere. 5 nights to long. I could deal with the hotel, but the staff was horrendous. I wish I pod by check so I could call my bank and claim fraud based on them regarding this hotel as a 4 star! Also, most of the reviews are fake, they have a great person named Sam at breakfast who is truly great and he has you review as a courtesy, but most think they are reviewing him or the breakfast but in reality your reviewing the entire hotel. Very deceiving.

The lobby decor is chic and the contemporary art work is nice. The flowing water fountain is beautiful, people also seems to use it like a wishing well. So go ahead and make a wish. The rooms are nice, the bed is soft and cozy and the front view was nice. They offer a weight room for guests use, a swimming pool with a jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was temporary closed.

Check-in service was excellent and quick. I got to spin a wheel and won a $25.00 gift card to the restaurant. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The workout room was also clean and had decent equipment options. The restaurant was excellent and the service was even better. I have stayed at this hotel many times for business and have never been disappointed!

The Westin is the best place to stay, especially for business trips. Very centrally located to get around to different towns. The front desk is always exceptionally accommodating and helpful. Sam in the restaurant is amazing! He makes you feel like a VIP and like you’re dining in his own home. Definitely recommend

What a great experience, especially Sam who helped us at breakfast, he was aware of everything and was truly there to please. His attention to detail is impeccable. I may come back to hotel just for breakfast even when I’m Not staying here!

Best hotel experience we as a family have ever had. Beautiful rooms, beautiful pool facility. Most of all, customer service is astounding. Everyone is so kind and courteous. Sam, our server at breakfast, was especially helpful and very kind to my family. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be staying here.

Was great for our anniversary stay! Comfortable room and great service. We went to breakfast at the hotel restaurant on Saturday morning and Erica, our server, was fantastic! She made sure we were well taken care of the entire meal, providing the kind of service you hope for but rarely get elsewhere. Would highly recommend the hotel and restaurant to anyone looking for a stay in the area.

Fast check-in with a very pleasant female staff member. Breakfast and parking included and even a chance to spin a wheel for bonus points. Room was a good size and good shower with Made In Canada bath accessories. All staff we met were very friendly. Great location and you can get right on expressways to get where you want to go quickly. Many kosher restaurants not far away.

Requested a suite upgrade in advance, got a germ free (or something) room instead. Good workout room, size of the pool was nice but needed to be cleaned. Bar is expensive. Fire alarm went off at 2 am, it wasn’t the hotels fault at all but it was a Wednesday night which I find strange as there wasn’t any groups of kids staying there that I say. At breakfast, servers will push you to order the buffet when you try to order off the menu. Buffet isn’t worth it. If you do eat the breakfast, give Sam a hello. Super friends and attentive.

The check-in was seamless and quick! The hotel room was clean and the noise level was very low allowing you to sleep. Breakfast in the morning was normal, until we were greeted by Sam the floor manager. His presence, conversation, and service was a refreshing addition to dinner.

We had a nice weekend including a wedding and Lions game. Our hotel was convenient with a great breakfast buffet to fill us up before a long day. Our server Sam, was super helpful and courteous. He was also knowledgeable about the local happenings. Parking was easy. Room was clean and had whatnwe needed to clean and sleep. Would stay here again. Great value for cost.

It's been a fabulous conference. Associates have gone over and above to make sure everything is great. At our dinners, they brought everything we requested. All service was with a smile. ☺️ all the ladies I spoke to felt the same way. Thank you for making our conference delightful.

  • 4/5 Debbie M. 7 months ago on Google
Our servers, Mike and Shirley were outstanding. I was with the DAR conference and they were very friendly, helpful and professional. As far as the hotel goes, it was clean and the rooms and linens were perfect. The big suggestion I have is please turn up the air conditioning. I spent the entire weekend freezing in the hallways and in the banquet rooms. It does not have to be that cold. Also, the food for the continental breakfast was terrible! For the money I spent on food I could’ve gone to Ruth’s Chris steakhouse.

This is my go-to spot when I'm traveling to Michigan for work. The rooms are great, the staff and friendly and attentive, the exercise room is very solid for a hotel as well. The restaurant downstairs has good selection throughout the day and Joy is amazing! She's really sweet every time I come in goes above and beyond. This hotel will see a lot of more of me in the future.

I was a guest for a conference Sept 14-17, 2023. Our reserved rooms were not available. The very nice check-in clerk advised the previous conference folks were allowed to stay another day. She then said our conference organizers over booked the block of rooms needed. After much negotiations we settled on a of lesser quality different room with no reduction in price. Unless you speak Spanish you will have a difficult time communicating with roomservice staff. They are very friendly and try to figure out what you want, but you may retire to no towels. Call room service and wait. Food was better at the restaurant. The conference food was ok. Odd that coffee was not served and you had to go into the hallway for a paper cup. 300 women at a conference x three meals x two full days, seems rude to speakers. Maybe this was what the conference committee selected. 🤷‍♀️ Our server Donna Cox was excellent and very welcoming. She appeared to be training another server and was doing a wonderful job. I want to thank her for her hard work and service.

I had wonderful service with all employees I encountered, but most especially Erica in the restaurant! She remembered my drink order and treated me like a VIP. Such a sweet gal! Comfortable bed, good food, and good room layout. My one complaint is the WiFi is weak and slow.

All the staff was amazing, everyone was polite and friendly willing to help with anything. My problem is this is a 4 star hotel, So I expect more. The furniture in the room is worn-out, when you first walk in its clean. It's just not deep clean. The carpet needs to be steamed. Please clean the headboards!!!, it still had hair oil from last guest. (Bring sanitizer wipe). We ate from the buffet for breakfast. The first day of us on the food line, a homeless man joined. I was completely shocked. He was dirty from head to toe picking from the buffet. The second day we decided to go as soon as the buffet opened because we are from out of town and did not rent a car. When being served drinks look inside them. I don't know if the dishes aren't being properly cleaned or the container of juice is old. The personalized omelet are delicious, but expect the same food options everyday. Last but not least the pool is so small. The deepest part of the pool is 3ft in a half. Don't go with a big crowd. Don't look at the photo shop pictures on this website, look at actual guest pictures. This is a 3 star and under hotel.

The hotel is pretty well maintained. Lots of parking. The front desk staff were not very friendly at check-in but the check out was much better. The room was clean, spacious and quiet. The restaurant on the first floor was ok I went to a Broadway play at the Fisher theater. it's a 15-20 minute drive from the hotel to downtown Detroit via the freeway. no complaints. I recommend.

My four night stay was very nice. Because or weather, I ended up eating all meals in the hotel restaurant. The continental breakfast was pretty good for a hotel. Chef Donald at the omelet station was absolutely wonderful! He made sure to welcome me every morning with great conversation.

I nearly missed out on this fantastic room, but a quick check on ʜᴏᴛᴇʟᴅᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ made all the difference. Service the way you’d expect it. The front desk staff were absolutely amazing and with the attention to detail, customer service and attitude of service consistently provided- morning, noon and night. Really appreciated the can-do attitude whether it was small changes for the room, helping find services around the city or just the ultra friendly attitude. All the Ladies were service with a smile, professional and really knew their business of hospitality!! Would go back just to have the interaction- it’s rare level of superior service ! Breakfast at Tango’s and the extraordinary service by Sam is worth coming back for. Sam was the ultimate in hospitality, friendly, helpful, accommodating and welcoming- just what you need when you have early morning meetings, little time and in a rush. He was always there with a smile whether dining in or grabbing to go. Overall great experience.

Greeting at check-in was extremely pleasant and professional. Sam in the dining area was very accommodating and made sure we had what was needed to enjoy the meal. Moe, extremely helpful at getting our luggage to the car and packed efficiently. Rooms were comfortable. Overall hotel could benefit from being cleaner.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days with my boss and my collegues. Joy who served coffee and drinks to us at the restaurant was very friendly and nice, more than enough. Also, the rooms have mobile check-in function. But heating in the room was not enough to warm me. The maximum temperature I could set was 78F but it didn't feel like 78 to me.. But overall, the hotel was fine.

The room was very nice and clean with great accommodations. We received outstanding customer service from Sam our server! He went out his way to make sure that we had everything to enjoy our delicious breakfast! I would definitely come back and recommend to family and friends! Great place to stay!

This review is for the restaurant in the hotel. Stopped by for a quick dinner. Had phenomenal service from Sabre, the wait staff in the restaurant. It got busier during the time I was there. She provided fast, friendly service and made you feel welcomed. The Honey salmon which was cooked perfectly laid on a bed of wild rice. Caesar salad was dressed well. Highlight of the meal was the fried pickle quarters served hot and crispy and complimented the salmon. Would definitely recommend and make sure you ask for Saber who knocked this review into five stars. Thank you!

Everything was excellent from the great check in, Kendace and Renee at the restaurant and bar were amazing. They were so sweet! They were both very professional the entire time. They were working so hard and they were swamped with orders. The room was great, my only suggestion would maybe be to remodel some of the rooms a bit. Bed and pillows are wonderful! Thanks for a wonderful stay

Very nice hotel. Staff is great. Room very nice. My only dislike was housekeeping knocking on door at 10:30am, wanting to know what time I was checking out? My response was check out is at Noon correct? Her response was yes it is so can I come back and clean the room in 15 minutes. I said No I will be checking out at Noon. We'll can I come back at 11am. NO - NOON!

I am a platinum elite member and have stayed in a countless number of Marriott hotels. This is an outdated hotel. The AC will not cool down the room, there is no Marriott lounge area for platinum and titanium members (so no free water or snacks), the key activator in the elevators aren’t responsive, and the fridge in my room doesn’t work. I had to change rooms because the first room they gave me had just had painting done in it the same day and the smell was too much. The free parking was nice, and the lobby was nice. Outside of those two details it’s a negative experience. It seems that the owners of this hotel cut corners and ignore essential upgrades needed. I will avoid this hotel next time I am in the area.

Great location, nice building, decent rates. Aja at the front desk was super friendly and cheerful. The bar made a great old fashioned cocktail, breakfast had omelettes and was basic but hit the spot. The rooms and hotel is a bit dated but has the basic Westin amenities, bed was comfortable. Service is definitely 5 stars but I knocked a star due to quality of the building. Overall I’m happy and would stay again and recommend this hotel.

  • 4/5 J F. 1 year ago on Google
So far my stay at the Westin has been great. The breakfast buffet was standard but the omelet bar was surprising. I wish the air conditioning would be cooler the room was fairly warm even after turning the air down to 65. But it is a great stay

Loved the Westin everyone was nice and attentive. Location was great about 20 minutes from the city and gas station around the corner for convenience. Beds were comfortable and the room service was on it and gave us some fresh towels when needed! Breakfast was good with a pretty good variety. Sam was great and super friendly and provided us with great dining! 10/10 recommend if you planned to stay here.

My stay was amazing! Barbara was super sweet and helpful. She got me checked in a little early since my flight came in early and it was really cold. She anticipated my needs and made my stay super nice. The food was good the Starbucks was good. The bathroom in my room was like a freaking spa!

I came here for a business meeting and stayed overnight to make it easier to be on time. From the get go Latondra was super helpful and got me.into my room quickly. She was polite professional and quick with her work. The room was amazing and so we're all the accommodations. Definitely worth the stay.

The absolute best part of my stay at this location was Ken who was the epitome of excellent customer service. He was professional, helpful, anticipated my needs, and attentive. The gentlemen that were valets were excellent too. However, I was very disappointed in my room and the age and condition of the furniture. The couch was wobbly, the fabric was tattered and dirty, and I sank down when sitting and felt the springs. It was basically too uncomfortable to enjoy. Also, the chair in the room did not fare much better however it was slightly more stable. The room appeared clean overall but the furniture was certainly passed its prime.

I would like to compliment Barbara Sterling the receptionist from registration. She was so helpful. We arrived very early and she assisted us in all that she could do to make us feel comfortable when we were really very exhausted. Thank you Barbara hoping to return soon in this hotel with your good service.

Read the reviews of others before booking - but I had an exceptional experience! Check in: wonderful. I arrived at 7:15am and they were able to put me in a King Room on the top floor. As a Titanium member, I got a breakfast voucher and got to “spin the wheel” - I won a $25 food and beverage credit at the hotel restaurant. Parking: huge parking structure-found a parking spot easily, there was a pedestrian walkway to the second floor of the hotel Room: everything was dated but comfortable - good shower pressure, standard Westin bed and sheets, which I like Gym: everything was functional, decent equipment, free weights and machine weights. Well lit. No water dispenser, fridge was empty of bottled water in the morning when I went. Restaurant: dinner was okay - it’s a hotel restaurant so my expectations was fairly low. Had the Tango burger and a gin drink (strong!) breakfast buffet was well stocked, and they had an omelette station. Thanks Joy for the great service! Overall I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Had a tough time getting through to room service on the first night but likely just a glitch. They made up for it when we got through. The lady that brought our food was very sweet with a lovely disposition. Very kind and friendly service. Breakfast buffet is amazing, Special thanks to Chef Donald Smith and Sam our server. He took great care of our little guy and us too. Felt like home.

I stayed there for two nights and I have to say! It was a great experience. The restaurant opens a 6:30 AM for breakfast and room service delivery and closes at 11:00 AM to re-open around 3:00 PM until 11:00 PM at night. Great food and drinks! Great ambiance the bar. Mostly business travelers. The lobby is a great place to hang out and get some work get some work done. The rooms, gym and conference rooms are super clean and well maintained. Valet parking and self-parking, if you'd like, are available for a set price. I haven't been to the pool but planned to at my next stay there. The front desk staff, were very nice and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend this hotwl.

The front desk ladies were great checking us in. The housekeeping was great and very friendly. The rooms were clean, looked new, and quiet. We had breakfast each morning at the hotel. The food was great! Our waiter, Sam, was top notch. On our third day he knew what we wanted to drink. Great waiter. We plan on staying here each time we come up for the kids.

I’m only writing this review based on Sam who works in the restaurant in the hotel. He was seriously the nicest person ever! So accommodating, kind, and just gracious. I was with a work group and he took the best care of is. Go see Sam when you go to the hotel restaurant-he will make your day brighter! Thanks Sam! Cassie

The location is great. The room was big and clean. We hang a group of kids running down the hall, yelling and screaming. The front desk was very helpful in moving us to another floor so we could sleep. It would have been 5 stars for the hotel if security was better there.

I’d like to add a review for the wonderful front desk staff, specifically Latondra, who not only is sweet and professional, but she will go above and beyond for you. I called down and asked if they sold stamps by chance, and she said they didn’t but she had a personal stamp she’d give to me. It was a very thoughtful gesture and very much appreciated. I wanted to leave a great review for Gary and Paul in engineering. I had an issue with the safe and the handheld shower head in my room, and after determining the safe needed to replaced, they quickly got me into another room across the hall. Paul made the arrangements and swiftly brought me the new key card and Gary helped settle me into my new room. They couldn’t have been friendlier or more efficient. Thank you so much gentlemen! I’d like to add another review for Sam at the restaurant who is extremely professional, kind and will tend to your every need with a smile. He will bend over backward to make your dining experience a very pleasant one. And he’s a lot of fun to talk with if you’re so inclined, which I am. Thank you Sam!

I have been coming here for years and always enjoyed my stay. The staff is outstanding. The ladies at the front desk are friendly and extremely helpful. Room service is always prompt. The service I receive at Tango's restaurant is top-notch. Joy, Ruth, and Sam are all outstanding. They make you feel special. And Donald's omelets in the morning hit the spot. The staff in general are all outstanding.

We stayed 2 nights (06/19-20) here. We switched 3 rooms because I am so sensitive to noise. Yes, 3 times...The check-in desk ladies on duty of those days are so professional, and tried their best to solve the problem. Plus, the maintenance service guys were very nice and response were prompt... Except for some hardware issues, I will rate it in 5... Great stay experience...

Jessica and Andrea were so helpful and awesome to work with. All of the food and beverage staff was very helpful and pleasant. The venue was beautiful and they did a great job making my special day a success! The presidential suite was very spacious and made getting ready before the wedding a breeze! Highly recommend using the garden Atrium. It was so beautiful!!

Rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. The Tango restaurant has awesome staff. I stayed 8/7-8/8 for an education conference. All staff except for one check in were pleasant. When I was checking in I had my school gear jersey on with sneakers and a baseball cap all marching. The African American female check in attendant with red hair was speaking to me any old way with a snarky attitude. When she asked for a credit card and I handed her my Marriott BonVoy Elite card her attitude and customer service changed with pleasantries. She said my room was upgraded to a King suite and she gave me a $10. 00 gift card to use on site. I was taken back by this and did not say anything as I knew I would do a review. I did call the General Manager on Tuesday and left a message.

Stayed here for a work event and my stay was fantastic. Room was clean, front desk staff were so friendly and the star of our stay, Sabra!!! She was amazing, from her amazing customer service to her friendliness with all of our guests staying at the hotel, she was such a joy to be around!

The highlight of my trip has been getting breakfast with Sam at the morning buffet. I thought at first he took a liking to me. Which he did, but he took a liking to everyone! Just the type of service you hope to receive as a guest. Outside of Sam - my stay so far has been superb. The hotel and rooms are very clean, parking is a breeze, and the bed is incredibly comfy. Come for the hotel - stay for Sam!! :)

Latrice the front office supervisor was amazing! What an incredible hotel! Every detail is consistently superior: the accommodations, the food, checking in, each staff person you encounter all have one thing in mind, your comfort. If you’re looking for a better hotel experience, don’t pass this one up.
