Saw a Instagram reel about this place and decided to stop by. Ordered brisket w/ Mac & Cheese & greens. Portions on sides were kinda small but the flavor was there. Brisket was great and cooked right. The sauce is good as well they give on the side. Also ordered the half chicken and they gave a nice size. Chicken was the star cooked perfect. Will be back again. Place is too small to dine in. Intended to be a takeout place. *** Update went today and the black guy saw my chicken was taking longer than usual today and hooked me up with sausage and brisket to taste while I waited. I truly appreciated that. I will keep coming back because of that

Que is good especially the brisket. Only gripe is online ordering. It’s no point in having online ordering with a specific time pick-up and you still have to wait 10 minutes (11:15 pick up and it’s 11:25 and I’m still waiting on my food) for your food when you get there! This needs to be worked on as well as some of the front counter staff customer service skills. Also you don’t get much food for your buck. I’m only giving 4 stars because of the quality of the Barbecue! I spent $19 on food pictured below.

The food is beyond words (excellent) Food is fresh, hot and very tasty. There are so many different varieties of foods. You can never go wrong with whatever your choice. Guaranteed you will enjoy and continue to come back. Cashier is very friendly and helpful. This is my new go to place to get EXCELLENT food!!! I will tell all my family and friends ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is my second time coming here. I came here around 1:00 for lunch. This place was jamming with people ordering food and waiting for their food. I ordered the half and half sandwich it has half brisket and half pulled pork with a side of baked beans. I take a bite out of my sandwich it tasted like pure heaven. The meat was so juicy and tender. Delicious. The baked beans had a nice flavor to them. I have got to cone back here mire often. The staff was very nice.

I have been wanting to try this place out since before we moved back to Michigan. It is definitely a place to try. Thank you for having exactly what I wanted for my birthday dinner. Everything was delicious.

I ordered a very large tray of Ribs, brisket, chicken, Mac & cheese, Cole Slaw and pulled pork for a family event. The food was fabulous ! I spent my adult life in the food business as the owner of a local chain of supermarkets and I know great food. Arkin's is absolutely the best anywhere...period. Congratulations to the owner. You are doing a fantastic job

Ummmm ummmm good brisket and bbq is all I can say. If you want good bbq better than FD.

The brisket is fantastic here! I did not even need BBQ sauce. The sides are a good size as well. I had the baked beans and blue cheese coleslaw, which I recommend. No place to sit down and eat though. We ate at the starbucks next door.

I ordered the ribs, baked beans, mac & cheese, and a couple strips of their sweet maple bacon. Not only was the food genuinely good (I don’t play about my ribs or my mac & cheese.) the man up front, the older gentleman, was so personable and kind. It was near the end of the day and most people are understandably tired or worn down after a hot and busy day. His kindness and energy was so lovely and refreshing, (considering there are so many cranky people these days you come to expect it now, especially from people who work in food.) So it was so nice to not only get great food, but to share a smile with the people who work there. This is my new rib place!

Check your order before leaving. Pack your patience. The online ordering is third party, they don't have access. Delicious food, best smoked brisket around! Portions are decent at the pound, even that is a little bit (especially for the cost) lol. if you have a taste for something, get it early or you may be out of luck. Sides are decent, small or large... small really is small. I must try the pulled pork and ribs... sauce is good too. All food (meats) seems to have a kick to it, even without the sauce.

Last week I went ordered the 3 pound rib tip special. The guy in front of me has the same order he checks his bag them the cashier says $21.19 is your total and he has 4 barbecue sauces. Then I approach the counter give the cashier my name noticed she only gave me 2 little sauces for 3 pounds of rib tips I asked only 2 sauces come with 3 pounds of meat she says yes. I said ok what's my total she says $21.19. I have been going to this restaurant for years placing large orders (very often) because the food is delicious and the owner makes you feel valued and appreciated as customer. But he's not in the building the customer service leaves much to be desired. I took a break from here before because of the cashier's being rude specifically during the height of COVID-19. This time there was a lack of consistency and plain lying. It doesn't matter how good the food is when the customer service is not good. That same cashier had a sleep bonnet on head (not very professional)! I hope the owner reads this and takes notes I never would talk bad about his business because the food is very good and the customer service is great but when he's there. That's disappointing you can't get the same customet service. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be returning because of the inconsistencies with the cashiers!

Found this place using Google, and after reading the reviews I thought I'd give them a try. The young lady at the front was so pleasant and willing to offer samples to allow you to make a more informed choice. Let me start by saying I'm giving a two for the food based solely off of the sample of macaroni & cheese that she'd given me. If I were to rate the food, it would be lower and here's why. I ordered rib tips, the smokies (Which are kielbasa), baked beans, the mild fried chicken, and also I believe it was called Santa fe chicken (Which was like chicken bites with sweet chili sauce on them). The meat was so over smoked that it was all that I could taste, in the tips as well as the smokies. It totally dominated the meat. He (The man preparing my food) then put them on the grill and cooked whatever moisture was left within them OUT! Mildly spiced chicken does not mean flavorless. And when I say this meat was taken from package, to flour, to fryer, that's exactly what it tasted like. The beans I would compare to a canned product, but not one of the better quality brands. The bbq sauce was flat and needed much more seasoning as well as acid. This place isn't completely unfortunate though. Having that incredible smoker and grill in the interior are two powerhouses for the business. They just need to do a bit of tweaking because the only thing I finished were the little chicken bites in sauce.

After seeing this place ok Tik Tok, me and my wife decided to give it a try. First let me say they have apparently decided to stay Carry Out Only. They used to have a dine in option but I guess Covid changed it and its carry out only. The food was indeed super delicious. We ordered brisket, ribs, a brisket burger Cole slaw, corn bread and potato wedges and everything was delicious and tender. The brisket for me was a bit chewy and the slices were a bit on the thick side. The ribs were phenomenally good. Great flavor. Overall we enjoyed our meal and was priced accordingly. No complaint. I just hope they return to dine in because it's always busy and you do have to wait long times to get your food and the space is very cramped small and with just 4 or 5 people inside you already feel claustrophobic and hot because the smoker is literally right there at the entrance. Loved the place totally recommended 👌

My fiancé and I ate at Atkins Sweet BBQ and had an amazing experience not only was the food beyond good so was the service. We got to meet G the cook and he let us sample a few different things and gave us a to go plate for free. The food is phenomenal thank you G you can cook a mean BBQ. The side were fire as well. We will be back again. Thank you

Yummy Brisket.... Pro: Customer service is great Mezsa at the register is so nice. All the cooks smile. So I would have given this five stars because I love to see diversity culture and Arab and blacks are working together and being productive and the beef brisket is good-good. Cons: I noticed that the African-American cook and the man cook they have their hair wrapped up/ hat and gloves on ( great) but I noticed today that there are two or three Arab women in there and one of them had their hair hanging in the sauce bucket they all need to have their hair covered and gloves on and the Arab girl was preparing sauce with no gloves on... not good...

Don't get me wrong Arkins is ok BBQ. But it does really fall short on individuality, Amongst the competition. The pork and brisket were dried out within 10 min of being packaged. The tips were very tough, with more fat and gristle tendons than tender meat. The Mac was very gritty, as if sand was Main ingredient. Sadly I don't think it's worth more than a 15 min drive. Any longer is not justifiable for the quality

The food is really, really good - we've never had anything bad, and love some of their unique stuff (loaded potatoes and quesadillas are amazing). Knocked off a star because like other reviewers have mentioned, the pickup/order experience is a bit sloppy, and they keep some pretty unique hours compared to other BBQ joints. We don't order there as often as we'd like because half the time we get a craving and look them up, they're closed.

We ordered mac & cheese, beans, chicken, and brisket. Nothing special with the mac and cheese. The chicken was seasoned fairly well. The beans were actually okay. And the brisket, this was the first barbecue place that we've been to that offered options on how we wanted the brisket (i.e., dry, some fat...) And I think that's a great thing because just like my steaks, I don't want it super dry. I prefer my briskets with some fat and moisture in it. The brisket here is one of my favorites.

Let me starting by saying the bbq chicken and pulled porked were good but the sides are horrendous! The cornbread has corn in it and no flavor, the Mac & cheese has no flavor just cheese, the sauce was open pit warmed up & the greens are gross! The meat im honestly craving right now and will just order meat only!

Visiting Detroit. Trying different restaunts. This was a good choice. The Brisket sandwich ( sliced ) was good added the cole slaw to the sandwich it got even better. The Cheesy Jalpeno sausage and Blunt Ends are delicious. The young lady who took my order was pleasant and food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. I will dine with them again.

Ordered the Rib Dinner for two with Mac& Cheese and the potatoes Wedges. Will be returning and I also told my Son. Would have liked extra sauce, only two small containers for a slab. Otherwise very happy.

This food is absolutely amazing. I have had the brisket, smoked chicken and the rib tips. Their big beans are so delicious. Everything was amazing.

Delicious food, their customer service doesn’t exist with the lady working there. No greeting nothing just looks as you like you can read her mind when to give her order, weird and awkward experience ordering food. BBQ food makes you forget that horrible customer service experience , reason for 5 star. BBQ delicious

The food is very good. However when busy, the service gets discombobulated. Staff should get more organized and more customer service oriented. Needs to be better at communicating

Wow!! I tried this spot when it first opened and I was not impressed. My second time going back. Everything was perfect. Brisket was moist. Cornbread was tasty. Even the coleslaw was amazing. I would highly recommend. I’ve had barbecue in Texas and this is just as good.

When you walk in your face is just smacked with barbecue aroma it was amazing I had no idea what I was going to purchase there so I bought a lot the brisket grilled cheese was amazing while I was waiting for my order the guy gave me a rib some cream corn to try both amazing and of course I had to buy some I will come back here again

Brisket is incredible, beef ribs are solid, and the beans are surprisingly tasty! Basically, anything meat-related is quite good, though expensive. Sides are relatively cheap but not very high quality other than the beans. Would definitely return for the brisket alone!

Sunday on my lunch break I had some issues with the online ordering. When I got there the ladies were so kind friendly , and helpful. They got me back to work on time and the food was amazing as always. I’m going to be ordering a catering order from there very soon.! First time customer. Got the fried rib tips. They were good, but BBQ Sauce was very bland. The Beef Ribs were over cooked - dry burnt no moisture very little BBQ Sauce. They were bland also. And my order of fries were not in bag...But will go back and try again. Maybe it'll be a better experience

Amazing BBQ brisket and spicy sausage. Was in town for business and was looking for some bbq. Recommended by trip advisor. Food was great. Brisket was tender, slow aged, and savory. Wow. What a great find. At the location I ran into several locals who are repeat customers who also raves about the food. The owner was helpful and kind. Gave me a sample of a fresh cured brisket burnt end, that alone was worth the trip. Definitely on my local favorites when in Detroit. Thanks! New fan.
