7/21: I got nervous sending a little detailed email regarding my special day….This is a first for me! I’ll be honest.. I was hoping for a better response than literally just “you need 30 people”…. What ever happened to simple pleasantries? That turned me, my friends AND family off so fast. We won’t be coming back for another meal. Maybe it’s just me I expected a little more from a restaurant of this quality. On 7/13: From OpenTable: My fiancé and I have been wanting to try New Mill Restaurant for a while now! We’ve heard so many great things. The atmosphere is so cozy and rustic. Everything was cooked beautifully, there were so many great flavors and textures. A lot of the combinations I saw all sounded so delicious but I had to try the Stuffed Chicken Cutlet. I loved it!! It was so creamy and the crust on the chicken was amazing. He tried the Crab Stuffed Cod and loved it as well. We will definitely be coming back for another taste! Come October we’re hoping New Mill will be the place for our families to come together and make a wonderful memory.

This was my first time here. Crazy busy place which is nice to see. The service was great! Dave, the manager is very attentive and involved. The staff all seemed to enjoy working here. The atmosphere is cozy. We heard the table next to us say, this was their new favorite place to eat. I went there for the steak but end up ordering the Halibut which was their special. It was delicious! The portion could have been a little bit bigger for the price but that’s seems to be the norm these days. The Brussels sprouts with bacon was amazing and their mashed potatoes were good. My fiancé ordered the short rib ravioli which he said was good and filling. He loved the sauce they came in. Their pork chops seem to be a bit as I saw many people ordering it. We’ll definitely be back!

There is ample parking and very big seating area inside as well as some tables and chairs outside. Servers were pleasant and attentive. The food was overall good and they serve big portions. One of our chicken entrees seemed to be a little undercooked..that was truly unfortunate. The steak was heavily salted as well. The menu is very small and the prices seem a little high for the quality, so definitely take a look before going!

Great food and staff. Everything was seasoned perfectly! Very happy we finally tried this Southington gem! Staff was welcoming and talkative...interacted well with my children as well. Atmosphere was cozy...rustic. We will come back.

Very good 18oz ribeye steak and really nice Xmas decoration too.

Went there for the first time and was not disappointed. Service (Sarah) was great to the point my water glass never went below halfway. My wife had a house made mozzarella appetizer that she was very impressed with. As for the main event I had the extremely flavorful Cowboy Ribeye steak with roasted potatoes and green beans while my wife had a very tasty Chicken and Shrimp Piccata with mashed potatoes and green beans. The food was unbelievable and I recommend both dishes. I also would suggest our dessert, which was a slice of Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. This was so good I ordered an additional one to take with us. The atmosphere was nice to enjoy the comfort of the restaurant and the company at my table and I could see others doing so as well. The bartenders were friendly and funny and I had a great time overall. Great experience, exceptional food!

This may be the best restaurant I've been to in a few years. Went here on a whim with my oartnerbafter we both had tough days, and I don't think I could find a single negative thing to say about my experience. Prices were more than fair, food tasted and looked amazing, the atmosphere was cozy and inviting but still fun and exciting. My only complaint is that I had to leave after the meal. I'll be returning, and I recommend everyone else also gives it a try!

The New Mill Restaurant left me with mixed feelings after multiple visits. On my first visit, during a weekday, I had a pleasurable experience with decent food and a good server. We enjoyed the calamari, filet, and granny smith apple salad. However, my subsequent visits on Friday and the weekend were not as enjoyable. The atmosphere was politically charged at full intoxicated volume. The lack of social graces and smugness made for an uncomfortable dining experience, despite the well-to-do crowd. There’s a reason that controversial topics of conversation are best left out of casual social settings. Although the food was alright, it was not worth the price tag, especially when the atmosphere was unpleasant. Dining in peace is crucial, especially when spending that kind of money. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the New Mill Restaurant unless you're willing to tolerate a politically charged atmosphere and a little bit of contempt from certain wait staff and management.

We enjoyed a lovely thanksgiving meal! Atmosphere was lovely, beautifully decorated. Sat by fireplace. Food was delicious, large portions, everything homemade including the apple/ pumpkin pie. The holiday menu perfect and sides served family style so plenty !!! Staff very friendly & attentive. Great experience. Highly recommend/ we will be back!

I've been here many times over the past couple of years, both at the bar and at the tables. The bartenders and waitresses are absolutely fantastic. Service is great and they are very friendly. The food is delicious. Great place!

I came from out of town with my brother and parents for a reunion. We found this place on Google and we were not disappointed. The server was Kirsten. She was great. Food was also excellent. Highly recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal. Everything was cooked perfectly. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean. Hats off to the entire crew. Thank you
