Blakely has long been one of my favorite parks in the area. Well-maintained trails, abundant wildlife, and historical significance with the skirmish lines and battle locations clearly marked. The park is a wonderful place to get some exercise, be in nature, and learn a thing or two.

Loved reading the history about this place! The park was well maintained, but the campground was a little less than desirable. The sites are big, but the roads are all dirt, and the areas where you park your camper on each site was dirt pads, that were very uneven, and the sites are definitely full of nature, and critters. This is definitely the place to go when you want peace and quiet and a lot of natural surroundings with nature. One of the helpers that lives in site 13 was super rude and just hateful. Overall we enjoyed our week there, and will definitely stay there again if we are in the area. I just wish they would make the people living there have some sort of site standards and not have them looking junky!

We enjoyed our stay here! Campground was quiet! Roads in campground could be a little smoother! Great place for some civil war history. Plenty of trails to hike and bike on! They have some cabins that looked very nice. Unfortunately, the boat tours were not running at the time we were there. Would have really enjoyed that. I guess not season yet! Very close to downtown Mobile. We also visited the USS Alabama memorial park. Really enjoyed the tour of the battleship and submarine.

Beautiful and well maintained park! A lot of historical markers, trails well marked, clean and easy to navigate. The lady working the main entrance was very helpful and kind. They do charge an entrance fee of $5 per adult, and they do have military discounts for free admission for active duty, reserves or veterans.

Lots and lots of hiking, biking and horse trails. This park was way bigger than I expected (2000 acres). The camp grounds are well maintained and clean at a fair price. I like how the RVs are well separated from tent campers. Power & water is available for tent campers or basic primitive sites. The fort and battlefield was pretty interesting. I like how there are QR codes to scan to read more about the areas. The ghost town of Blakeley was pretty interesting with the Jury and Hanging tree as well as the remnants of the Courthouse. I wish they could do more to preserve and showcase the Indian mounds by the river. The boardwalks are well maintained and make for a nice stroll along the river. The trails... I didn't do all of them, but the ones I did do were swarming with deer flies. Any are I didn't have sprayed with bug juice they attacked. In the spring time they are probably not as bad, so I suggest going on the trails then. The staff at the front office was very nice and friendly. Got me checked in quickly, gave me some information packets and answered all my quiestions.

Tons of things to do, but make sure you do some of their cruises. We did the sunset cruise recently to Cooper Riverside Park and it was astounding. The views great. The sunset was killer and all around nice time. It lasted about two hours and our captain was very informative. I recommend doing one of these tours

Great quiet park with lots of trees in camping areas plus educational opportunities from the Battle of Fort Blakeley. Tent camped at site B1 and it was very private plus lovely tree coverage. Also toured the Battleground and town remnants which was very informative. Did not hike much as the bugs were a bit crazy. Overall definitely recommended for a few nights stay or a stop if passing through!!

Very cool local place, alot of history there. Really cool to see all the dirtwork and berms still in place after all this time. Good trails to walk and bike. Some of the camping areas are not paved, so if it is during a dry spell. Any traffic going by will generate some dust. (Luckily people were considerate and driving slow to help reduce this)

LOVED IT!! Great campsites, secluded, wooded, perfect. Checked out the tent spots while here, very nice! Not just an RV pad they rent to tent campers, but a nice wooded area secluded from each other. There are a few vault toilets, not fancy but get the job done. There is a bath house, but I did not get a chance to check it out. Beautiful scenery, great history, nice hikes. The staff was amazing! Absolutely would reccommend.

I highly recommend the boat tours Blakely offers. I have done several and am always impressed with the crew and other park staff. On our tour today we saw both the port and natural areas of the delta. Many thanks to Blakely for accommodating our large group of students!

We camped here for 2 nights the weekend before the 4th of July at one of the improved tent sites. It was wonderful. Friendly staff, easy check in. Beautiful campground and park in general. Was not crowded at all. The bathhouse and showers are not air conditioned, but were pretty clean and well maintained. Plenty of showers with hot and cold water. Improved tent sites were spacious, each had a picnic table, a fire ring with a cook rack on it, water spigot, and an electrical outlet. Beware of the GIANT horse flies, and we also had a little raccoon visit both nights, luckily we had all the food put up tightly, but he sure tried to find something. Only bad experience was a very drunk man yelled at my 12 year old in the bathroom. However we didn't have another run in with him and he was clearly staying in another part of the park.

Good small campground, roads get dusty when dry. But still a great spot to get away.

Stayed at the Sibley Cabin. I'm not sure I'd call it a cabin, more of a house, but it was great. The park itself was immaculate, and the attendants were helpful. Overall good experience, and will be back.

We had an great time here! Joel was there when we checked in and he was so nice. My kids love history and as soon as I mentioned that he ran back to the office and brought them some brochures and told them some information. We really enjoyed looking around and seeing all of the history.

You can feel the spirits in this Park. The history is immense and walking the trails, past the earthworks, around the redoubts is intense. Research this area, experience the places and then read and learn more. Quite a place. The campground has big lots and full hookups.

This is a nice park, many of the site are not level gravel (don’t forget your blocks). Wildlife is minimal sightings 1 deer 🦌 and several different species of frogs 🐸. The sites are full hookup’s as the bathrooms 🚽 are outhouse 😝. Listen 👂 do NOT just walk through trails or ⛺️ sites without a cane 🦯 or walking stick, use it as a de-Webber 🕸and spider 🕷 repeller cause I guarantee you will be glad you did. Biggest spider 🕷 I have ever seen 🙀. Camp 🏕 staff is so kind and friendly. We give Blakeley a B+.

Really nice place to camp. The ladies who work at the gate are so nice & a ball of joy to talk too. The only issue is that the campsites are extremely close to each other. Some of the campsites were small, only a few sites were large. I was lucky enough to get a large campsite. The bathrooms were nice and clean and that's always good when going to a campsite. The showers are very large...honestly 3 people could fit in shower room.

Came for the day and enjoyed some of the many hiking trails and there are many. Lots of trees down from the hurricane and the boardwalk by the water is damaged also and blocked off for safety. Liked learning the history of each area by calling the number and hearing pre-recorded information. After the entry, the roads are not paved and at times very narrow. At the entrance, the woman who approached our car to take our money for the entrance fee, was not wearing a mask nor social distancing.

I’ve spent a lot of time here lately and it’s always special. It’s a beautiful natural area with well maintained roads, campgrounds, and cabins. It’s so large, you can spend hours there hiking and not see another person. Trails are well marked and there is lots of interpretive signage. It has Native American, Civil War and an early town site. Something for everyone.

Over 20 miles of mountain biking trails. Today I went and tried to ride most of them and they're pretty good there is some really fun downhill areas and great scenery and the trails aren't too busy so it feels very secluded. Would recommend getting a map from the people at admissions it was very helpful. Green Street was my favorite part of the ride.

Beautiful area full of history, wildlife, and incredible scenery. The terrain is very diverse, from swooping oak trees over woodsy trails, to dense bogs and marshes, and windswept grassy hills. Don’t be in a hurry to get through the trails and you’ll be rewarded with what feels like a dynamic, ever-changing and yet somehow stoically steadfast, peaceful place.

If you are biking these trails, the trails aren’t marked well for the type of trail!! I didn’t get a picture of the extreme trails because I was too busy pushing my bike up it! Lol We encountered some very extreme spots/hills that could be difficult for some without experience. It’s very easy to get lost so be sure to have your phone on you. The history/park side is very impactful & worthwhile.

Very disappointed in this state park, although the park it self is really beautiful rich in history the facilities are absolutely terrible! The restroom located near our campsite is actually a outhouse and is so dirty we didn’t even want to step inside it. We drove to the main restrooms where they also had showers and it was just as bad, it was so filthy it looked like it hasn’t been cleaned in years, the floors were covered in dirt, grime and trash. The garbage cans were overflowed and covered in flies. I didn’t want to attach any photos of the toilets because they are just too disgusting. Definitely do not stay here to avoid being disappointed as we are, can’t wait to leave.

Had an amazing experience staying in the Squirrels Nest. So much history here, and one of the most beautiful parks I've been to. So much to see and do and the staff is great.

Really fun weekend camping on 3/25. Gina and Kim were awesome at the gate as well as the gentelman. Lots to do in the park from civil war, trail bike riding, to historic sites.

ADV Motorcycle Hammock Camper: For me, Blakeley State Park (which isn't actually a State Park) was a chance find after I arrived at another State Park in Mobile, AL - to find it full. Blakeley doesn't accept walk in campers; you must register using their website. After the very kind lady at the gate got past the fact that I was riding a motorcycle, the check-in experience was dripping with southern hospitality. . The primitive campsites were...primitive. Don't expect any amenities at (or close to) the sites, and you can expect to walk a good ways to the bath house, which was clean, warm and well maintained. There is ample windfall firewood on the grounds, but much of it is rotten and wet. You can buy firewood at the gate, but the bundle I was given proved to burn very slowly (great for cooking, but not for that classic campfire atmosphere). The site I was given (D17) was spacious and well maintained. There were plenty of hammock friendly trees to choose from and plenty of level ground for a large tent (if I had one). What I didn't realize at first was that the campground is located on the old battle ground itself, right between the Confederate and Union skirmish lines. The ghosts of Fort Blakeley where thankfully rather quiet while I was there. Blakeley is conveniently close to Mobile, and just a short ride from several fantastic seafood restaurants as well as the USS Alabama maritime and aviation museum (which is well worth a visit). The access given to visitors, deep within the ship, is remarkable. If you are planning a trip through Mobile, I highly recommend you (visit or) stay within the grounds at Blakeley State Park.

This place is just beautiful. You can camp, kayak, hike or visit an old town or battle site. Wonderful family destination for a weekend or just an afternoon.

This is a great Campground with all the amenities for RV (and tent) areas. So wish we'd stayed for a week! So many trails and historical places ( with a self guided tour). The staff is great! The RV sites are Huge pull throughs. There are horse trails too!
