Highly recommend and I would not hesitate joining a Jakarta Walking Tour. We started our tour plan communicating with Yupa who was very responsive and helpful prior to our Jakarta arrival given us Eti's contact information. Eti led us on a full day tour touching all points of old and new Jakarta while sampling the cuisine, transportation, and emerging us into it's culture. Nothing but smiles all day :)!

While traveling with my nine year old son, we toured Jakarta with Ms. Eti for 2 days, and she did an amazing job of introducing us to her city, to Indonesian culture, and, of course, to the amazing cuisine of her nation. Our visit was enriched in a wonderful way... it wouldn't have been in any way the same without it. She gave us deeper insights, and a local experience that was unavailable to us as foreigners. All with kindness, patience, and good cheer. We loved our time with her. We are grateful that we chose her company, and highly recommend their service.

Excellent value for a fantastic tour. We tried so many delicious dishes, by the end we were begging for smaller portions. Highly recommend this tour for an overview of Indonesian food.

I really enjoyed the whole day walking tour through Jakarta with guide Eti. Unfortunately, due to Covid restriction not everything was possible but they did all in their might to make the tour an informative one. I got a good first impression of the city and tried some delicious food. Will definitely book other tours with them when restriction will be lifted.

This walking tour is not cheap but the reviews were good. We wanted a private tour so we booked it. It's certainly worth the money. The price includes lots of extras (boat ride, museum entry, drink, trying herbal teas, visit to wayang puppet master). We had a very knowledgeable guide and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the old town and harbour.

Absolutely loved my food tour with Vera. This company was willing to host a solo which was great. Huge amount and variety of food to sample and Vera was knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Highly recommend. Come hungry or in a group if you can so you can try more things!!!

I had a couple of days in Jakarta prior to the rest of my party arrived and wanted to get out and learn about the city and its food. I emailed Vera and signed up for the Food Tour. It did not disappoint! Eti (tour guide) took me and one other around the city center and fed us well...ensure you come hungry! I had such a great time, I spoke to Eti about doing the Old Batavia tour the next day, and ended up taking the tour. Both tours were great. Initial contact, scheduling, and payment was easy.

It was a really nice tour. Our tour guide, Ms. Eti, is very knowledgeable about the local food. She took the three of us to food courts, street food stalls, and restaurants to try the delicious local cuisine. She introduced the ingredients and history of the foods she recommended, and they were all yummy. We also discussed the different food cultures of Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, China, and Colombia. As a Chinese person, I was happy to discover that some local foods are influenced by Chinese cuisine. I even tried a Bajaj (a three-wheeled vehicle in Jakarta), which I had never had the confidence to try before. Now, I also feel more confident about trying local street food.

Ms. Eti and Ms. Pia did an excellent job in organizing the Shopping and the Food Tour in Jakarta. They are thorough professionals in this field. We were 9 of them as a family and we were amazed by the hospitality and the care they provided for us. For the food tour in our family we had mix of Vegetarians and Non Vegetarians , so Ms. Eti made sure we had authentic Veg and Non Veg options to eat, on a whole the Food tour was scrumptious . For the Shopping tour Ms. Eti made sure she leads in the front and Ms. Pia made sure she leads from behind , so all 9 of them doesn't get lost in the crowd. Ms. Eti went out of the box and bargained for us during the shopping tour. The knowledge imparted to us about the Indonesian culture & food during the tour by Ms. Eti was great. Both Ms. Eti and Ms.Pia are perfect team and I would highly recommend Jakarta walking Tour.

I had an amazing day with Eti! She knows so much about the city's history and culture. I got so much more out of my stay in Jakarta thanks to her. Organisation was top, I learned a lot and we had great snacks at china town! Totally recommend this tour!

This was a fantastic way to see many different parts of Jakarta in one day - there's no way I would have been able to do this on my own. Eti was very knowledgable, as well as being really fun to spend the day with. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to discover more of the city but doesn't have a lot of time.

Fantastic food tour or Jakarta - mix of street food, dessert and local restaurants. Very educational as well! And we had a brilliant guide - Ms Eti :)

Wonderful, memorable, informative, fun. Eti was our guide for a food tour and a single-day city tour. We learned a lot, ate delicious food and most of all thoroughly enjoyed spending the day and evening with Eti. She's a warm, energetic, endless encyclopedia!

I can’t say enough good things about Jakarta Walking Tour. I was staying in Jakarta for a day plus before heading for the islands on a snorkeling tour. After many hours spent traveling to Jakarta, I wanted to walk, and the walking tour was perfect. I had one full day tour, the Jakarta Favorite Tour, and a half day tour the following day, the Jakarta Cultural Religious Tour. Prior to my trip, Vera worked with me to configure the tours that would best suit my interests. My guide and new friend, Eti, was fabulous! She was fun, knowledgeable, and eager to show me her city and teach me about Jakarta and Indonesian history and ways. We had a great time at the markets. There were so many fruits I’d never seen or tasted before. Eti, helped me to experience many of these. We also had lunch and snacks from the market and local vendors. It was so nice to have an informal, relaxed tour. I definitely plan to contact Jakarta Walking Tour next time I’m in Jakarta. I feel there’s still so much more to see and experience. Thank you, Vera and Eti!

Enjoyed the tour much! The guide, Eti, was very attentive (even the night before she sent some good tips), knowledgeable and fun to be with. Liked all activities of the Old Batavia tour, which were quite diverse. Time flew really fast. Highly recommended

We had an amazing time exploring Batavia and the local street food scene on custom walking tour of Jakarta with our great guide Eti. Vera arranged the tour with short notice and customized everything to fit our needs. If you’re visiting Jakarta and looking to experience the city with a local, I would definitely recommend this tour.

The tour was great. With Ms. Eti I had an excellent and kind tour guide. The variety of different food was enormous, the quantities were more than enough and tailor made changes in the food offered is possible. I look forward to do it again in the future.

I had a great time having a city tour with Vera who guided me through Kota tua, the old town of Jakarta. I would recommend international travellers to explore Jakarta with her.

I haven't been in Jakarta for 13 years and I'd love to get reacquainted with the city I used to live and work. So, I reached out to Jakarta Walking tour to customize a tour for my family of 4 to Chinatown from Houston, TX. I had to made changes and added additional person during the process, and this company was on top of everything. From making reservation, paying online and did the walking tour, I was very happy with my experience. Vera, our tour guide was very accommodating to us, including to my 10 yo nephew. She took care of everything and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The next time I'm back in Jakarta, i'll definitely reach out again to do another tour.

What a lovely introduction to Jakarta, its food, and a bit of its culture. A special thanks to Eti who gave us fascinating details and a cultural background on each dish we tried in our food tour.

Awesome walking tour - very interesting and informative! Our guide (Eti) was flexible, friendly and very kind. We especially loved going to see the boats and taking a ride in one of the banana boats! Highly recommend!

Had a great tour with Vera, her energy is amazing and contagious. Started the day at the national monument, then proceeded to go to old town where I had great jamu, tumeric and tamarind drink made similar to coffee. We then went through the market and tried some more yummy food. We then took the bus and the metro to Cipete for some coffee and seeing a different side of Jakarta. Thanks Vera for the great experience and the tips for food and coffee in Jakarta

Unreliable. They sent confirmation for Dec 14, 2019 by email and WhatsApp but did not show up at 9AM. I called multiple times on WhatsApp, but no one picked up.

We had a wonderful day with Vera from Jakarta Walking Tour! She is so nice and knowledgable, it was great chatting with her while she showed us around Jakarta. She tailored a plan including all our wishes for the day and provided us with rain coats, drinks and snacks. We are very thankful for that great experience and will recommend taking a tour with Vera to all of our friends! :)

Vera was really nice and she has good humor. She told us the food and culture of Jakarta. Vera also took photos and sent those for us. That was great extra service. Food was also delicious. I recommend this to everyone.

Vera took Neil and myself on a fabulous day tour of Jakarta. She opened our senses to the real flavours and colours of the city allowing us to better understand its character, habits and customs. We visited many interesting places including the colonial area and Chinatown. We tried a variety of delicious street foods and drinks (Potong, the iced coconut lolly, being our favourite closely followed by rujak: fresh fruit with a chilli and cane sugar sauce). We also took an amazing reflexology massage that put our feet back on track after a day walking :) Vera is a competent, interesting and entertaining guide and we recommend her to anyone wishing to see the authentic face of Jakarta. We look forward to our next tour with her. Francesca and Neil

Vera’s tour was absolutely incredible! Vera takes the time to customize your tour beforehand to make sure her offerings are to your liking. I cannot recommend Vera enough. My husband and I love traveling and we frequently go on food tours and this was by far the best. Even when we were stuffed with delicious local food Vera continued to delight with local goodies. Thank you Vera for an amazing experience and tour! Bravo!!

I had a great experience with the Jakarta Walking Tour. They are very insightful and provide a lot of information about the city. They were able to show me great spots and local areas. Along the way they introduced me to many different local foods. Great experience and the guides will make it a very fun time. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing night thanks to Eti. We tasted so many different dishes and we could also see different venues and street food stalls. Eti brought us where Indonesians eat and we could have an authentic experience. She explained us the food and some very interesting tradition about the dishes we were eating. We definitely recommend it for a fun and interesting night in Jakarta.

The food tour was awesome! A great way to experience Indonesian food with a local guide. Perfect way to break the ice with street food and "warung" style. Of course you need to be curious and open to new tastes, especially if you are Western.

I had such an amazing day with Vera from Jakarta walking tours! She started the tour by asking me what I wanted to get out of the tour and gave me options. She listened to everything I wanted to do and made a point to stop and explain everything to me when she realized what I liked. She got me to try so many different and local foods and drinks. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She was very personable and made the best companion for the day we had a blast. Thank you Vera for making the most of my one day in Jakarta!

We (high school buddy and I) took the street food walking tour with Ms. Eti in October and it was great. She took us to a variety of places (covered malls, sidewalk stalls, regular restaurant) and her English explanations were impeccable. We ended up at a Sumatra restaurant for our final dish and we liked it so much we went back the next night. Highly recommended!
