👍👍 Had a mini reunion lunch here at Sakana Midplaza. It was a very unique dining experience as we were escorted into a private tatami room. Staffs were friendly and we loved the privacy of the rooms. Had a mini reunion lunch here at Sakana Midplaza. It was a very unique dining experience as we were escorted into a private tatami room. Staffs were friendly and we loved the privacy of the rooms. I ordered and tried the Tontoki Don, it was generously packed with sliced pork belly and seasoned with somekind of teriyaki sauce over a bowl of rice. The saikoro steak was juicy, and the sauce paired with it was amazing. My friends ordered the Big Beef Bento and were served gyutan (beef tongue) on the side. It's super delicious that it could be a main dish on it's own. Overall a very enjoyable lunch, though do note that they serve HUGE portions. Enough to share with 2 people if you're not particularly hungry. But a very enjoyable treat for those with big appetite. Will come again (when I'm famished)

The food was great. I went there for lunch and I had burger lunch set menu. It was wonderful and fulfilling. We ate in a small private room, but since the room divider was from wood, you could still hear other people talking. At least it didn't feel so quiet. Service was fast.

One of the best & recommended Japanese resto in Jakarta in mid-up range price. I love the pork belly rice (i forgot the name) A LOT. The meat is so huge, its more sweet, and the onion flavour is strong, the portion also huge. I also like the Takoyaki very much. Did not order the sushi but sure will be back and try the sushi. Btw the place i felt a bit not convenient, because the dining table is right after other room (even it has unsolid wall), so you could hear other guest talking.

Food: 4/5 Salad was quite good. Potato salad was decent. Fried tofu was very soft, good one. Beef teriyaki was good - best eaten with rice. Chazuke salmon was okay. Service: 5/5 Fast, on point, and nice.

Secluded place in basement of midplaza 1. Uniqe place with tasty food they served. Tontoki don pork had a savoury taste and must try item. Their portion of food is quite big. The service was good and quick. The food menu was pretty varies, you will have options to choose. The ambiance is soothing and when we came here, they have buy one get one menu item. Recommended place to eat with family or friends. #mattheusr

They've merged with Tontoki and continue to serve the excellent pork katsu, probably one of the best in town. Sunken seats enough for 6 people are divided into enclosed cubicles for privacy. The lighting is too dim though. There's a 15% discount with JCB cards only for dinner.

Great Food Quality and Price. Nice ambiance, service are good. Better to book a seat before coming, as they don’t have much seating available.

Located at basement Midplaza 1. We went to their tatami style with extra privacy and had truffled medium beef ramen and unagi set, matcha ice cream. The taste is still authentic. Recommended.

Got the oden as appetizer, the broth is too salty. The fishcakes are good. Main: unagi don, gyu truffle don and salmon shioyaki. All the main dish: rice are way too much and the miso are beyond tolerable level of saltiness. The unagi don is good, has a balanced taste. The gyu don, the beef are tender, the crunchiness of the fried garlic def adds on to the flavor. Nice balance. The salmon shioyaki, nothing special with this one.

Atmosphere was good because you have private space. Karei Karage (deep fried fish) was very nice, tender. Sakana Don was also nice. Salmon Tataki was very nice. Sushi mentai salmon was good but similar with other sushi restaurant.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in town! First time here and everyone was surprised with all the quality and delicious food served. Their fried chicken volcano is legit, their tontoki bowl and saba is the best. The air conditioner is a bit hot, but overall the atmosphere is good. Will definitely come here again!

Private room for each guests. The dessert oguro icecream was so delicious. They have many variant of dishes. Location at Midplaza.

A great place to eat for people who need privacy and don't want to be around other people. Comfortable, the atmosphere is authentic, the service is super friendly and polite. There are rooms with a capacity of 2 people, 4 people and more. Suitable for deeptalk. The food is okay, the price is worth the taste. This restaurant immediately made it to my list of favorite Japanese restaurants. Good job sakana! I will definitely come back here again🫶🏻

The resto is located in the basement of MidPlaza building and has buy 1 get 1 promo until 1 Jan 2023 on selected items and beverages, so it become value for money as the portions are large. If you are a really small eater you might want to share each dish. Our party ordered tontoki don US pork, beef oyakodon and beef curry rice. Tontoki don is their strong forte, a really simple dish but exceptionally well done. Ask for more fried garlic if you like. The beef curry rice is also smacked with generous curry gravy. Roughly 600K for 6 dishes is a steal for this kind of cuisine. Every seat has its own chamber so it is good for small parties of 4-6 people. Smoking is allowed and the place can feel claustrophobic because it's partitioned, so it can be a drawback for some people.

Very pricey and taste ok. Come here for company dinner and ordered shio salmon big bento set that come with miso soup. Firstly I think their ocha didn't tastes as strong as other Japanese restaurant, for bento set preparation waiting period from ordering to serving is very long (we wait for around 30 minutes) and they need to update menu in famous food review site such as z*mato. Their saikoro beef is good, but the side dish for the bento is not so good (salad, beef tongue stir fried). Their takoyaki and gyoza taste just ok.

A go to japanese restaurant in Kuningan, they have a wide variety of japanese foods starting from takoyaki, katsu rice, chicken nanban, ramen, beef bowl, tempura, salad, and many more. The food was decent and the ambience was very nice. You can get your own room.

Had visited Sakana waaayyyy back when I was still studying abroad and came home for holidays. Even back then Sakana was the place to go for some yummy Japanese dishes. Since then I've moved back to Indo and entered the workforce, but sadly I didn't get much chance to visit. That changed today! Managed to cleverly organized a lunch meeting here and very pleased with myself for it. The place is still great and have private cubicles to allow better chats and meetings. Menu was extensive comprising of scrumptious rice bowls, steaks and other variants. I had pork steak set while my guest had the US pork belly signature rice bowl set. Both were amazing and must try for sure. I was only half way thru my meal, talking work stuff, and already thinking when I could come back with family 😁💭 My advise is to come early before 12 to avoid office lunch rush hour. Be back soon!

Tontoki Don saved the day. It is still one of best don in Jakarta. And since Tontoki is already closed permanently, I will come back just for this dish. The other dishes were not good. Takoyaki was decent but not great. Tonpeiyaki didn't taste like it was supposed to, but tasted like stir fried vegetables with gravy and omelette. Ordered salad with anchovy and they replaced the anchovy with thin fries without telling us first. The quality was never great but had become even worse after Covid. Service was poor. No chopstick until several dishes came. Salad came at the very end after we had almost finished our meal. Staffs were clearly overwhelmed and understaffed.

Food is alright. The concept just like another japanese resto, they have private room. Nice for lunch with colleagues :)

Great food with nice place. The foood omg im in love with the food. I always order their chicken teriyaki, the chicken is so tender with the sweet-salty teriyaki sauce. Somehow i prefer this rather than the Salmon one. The set portion was perfect for me. I didnt feel too much or still hungry after that because they put dessert as part as the set too (i got chocolate pudding that day and it was okay, not too sweet ). Their takoyaki was nice, the portion quite big. The vibe of interior remind me of japan so bad, especially when they have separate room for every guest so i think it's safe during covid era like lately...

Other menu is never failed too. Love the resto ambiance and the staff is very friendly. Price is standard japanese restaurant and still affordable. I'm always happy to back to this restaurant☺️
