Beautiful cave system. The app audio guide was really good. The cave is well paved and although it is damp in parts, it's a pretty safe walk. Make sure you wear either covered shoes or sandals with a strap. It can get cold inside, about 10-12°c, so a light jacket is adviseable. I took my time and was in and out in less than 2 hours.

After a long time, got a chance to visit any caves and glad we did. This place n location is gorgeous. had fun visiting this place. It would take about an hour or more depending on your interest to visit. It's 950 meters long, so sometimes you feel like it's long. If you get lucky, you will find parking at the parking place right below the caves. Plz have change in Swiss Frank... It's 3 Frank for 4 hour minimum and that's enough time to enjoy. Definitely recommend it.

That was my first time visiting a cave and it did not disappoint at the latest. It was great even the walk there had a great view. It was very cold and wet (quite humid due to the waterfalls and water dripping from the walls as well). My only complain is that the stairs were wet as well so even with the handle to help the walk it was quite scary as there was no walking aid or pad to help in case of wearing a slippery shoe I went there without knowing about the wet staircases so I wasn't equipped with good shoes.

I highly recommend everyone to visit this cave! Parking can be a challenge, but we lucked out and didn’t have a hard time. The hike up to the cave alone is very beautiful! The cave itself is super cool, literally so bring a jacket! The cave waterfalls are so cool. I love this cave and I hope everyone has a chance ti experience it.

What a beautiful cave an interesting attractions of Switzerland. The entrance views are astonishing especially if the weather is perfect... Enjoying the view of the lake and the water running down till you reach the cave entrance. Cave entrance takes you into another place... The tour and the walk in the cave keeps you entertained.. Tickets prices are reasonable and affordable... You only needs to come early to avoid the traffic and find a parking lot near the entrance

The Holy Beacons Caves offer a truly mystical experience. Nestled in nature's embrace, these caves are a testament to spiritual tranquility. The intricate formations within the caves, combined with their historical significance, create an awe-inspiring atmosphere. Exploring the Holy Beacons Caves is a journey into both natural beauty and spiritual reflection

Simply impressive, both the exterior and the interior, seeing the water travel is a spectacle. It is advisable to wear appropriate shoes and be careful with your head, there are very low areas.

Gutes Ausflugsziel mal was anderes.

The walk leading to the entrance is so beautiful! Love the waterfalls and lake view! We didn't go inside the cave. Enjoyed to the surroundings very much. Hope we can go back.

Fun place to visit. Be prepared to hike several inclines before getting to the entrance. It took me about 15 minutes and I was so out of breath. 19CHF for adults. Inside the cave is very chilled and refreshing. There are clean bathrooms at the top along with restaurants. There is also a souvenir shop and a small museum for little ones. On the way back via bus, there are several stops at the lake if you want to swim. The lake is beautiful.

Wow just an amazing experience, a bit of a hike to get to the top but once up the views are breathtaking and the whole experience in the caves is exciting, so well looked after and information round every corner. Was super hot day so was such a lovely surprise at how cool it was once inside. Beautiful cafe once you have finished

Just by the lake a beautiful place to visit. You can climb up through the caves but to visit them you have to pay! If you don't want to pay you can just enjoy the beautiful scenery of the waterfall, take lots of photos on the way to the caves and when you reach there you can see at least one cave for free😉

You can go there with bus 21 from Interlaken west. It takes around 20 minutes. Then you need to go up. The view on the lake is breathtaking. The cave itself is extraordinary. There is a legend that St Beatus chase a dragon away from the cave so he can live inside. In a few places inside the cave you can see dragon scale - so the legend must be true ;)

Excellent place to visit with the whole family! Gorgeous views, the cave is mesmerizing, can only recommend. Super close to Interlaken, we took the bus but if you're feeling sporty you can walk (2h walk with amazing views)

Very nice caves, especially you can visit on your own, with own pace. Even if you buy online ticket you still have to get a special coin at cash register, so online buying makes no sense. The views from the hill where Cave is - amazing :)

I'll dare to say not the most beautiful cave I've ever been. But definitely worth visit. I would recommend to spend a whole day in the area. It took for me 2,5h calmly walk in a cave. I was paying attention to details. Stalagmites and stalactites are not huge but you can see them as small sculptures. Inside river gives a very good soundtrack mixed with talks of visitors. It around 8-10C inside the cave so grab something warmer. Infrastructure is very good, though I haven't noticed possibility for disabled people to go up the hill. There's a children playground and grill spot in a middle of going up. Also a restaurant next to entrance There are two wc spots down hill and up. Museum is small but informative. There's an interactive map of all Switzerland Switzerland caves. Parking lot is not huge so it might be difficult to find a parking spot, bus from a city might be an option. Adult price is 18eu- worth it

Nice place for a family visit if you are interested in caves. There are some great rock formations inside, made me remember my school geography classes( stalactites and stalagmites ;) Parents with a stroller/pram can leave it near the restaurant and go inside.

Good sight to see if your in the area. The cave was very interesting to see, with a stunning view of the surroundings. Upon arriving to site, you must walk up about 150m to the main level, where there is the entrance to the cave, as well as a quick lunch spot, and the sit-down restaurant Stein & Sein. The walk up is strenuous as it is a steep incline. I had lunch at the Stein and Sein that was lovely. I had a steak with potatoes/vegetables. Well worth it, as the quality of the food was up to Swiss standards and the tables all have really great views of the lake. The walk through the cave is about 1.5 km (approx. 1 mile) long, with a slight degree of difficulty due to the steep inclines (not as steep as the initial climb though) and numerous stairways throughout. Total, it takes about an hour. The weather in the cave stays at a constant 8-10 deg C all year round so its quite comfortable to walk around in the summer. If you get cold easily, I recommend a light jacket, however with all the climbing throughout, you tend to warm up a bit. It can get quite damp inside the cave, and the floors tend to be a bit wet, so I would advise flat shoes with a standard grip - normal tennis shoes would be fine. Note, that there is also a museum on the first "level" from the ground up. Entrance is free with the entry ticket to the cave. They have toilets there, and you can purchase drinks and ice cream. There are a couple tables next to the museum to sit and relax.

We did not go inside the caves, but the waterfalls and hiking paths were incredibly beautiful with the views of Lake Thun with the mountain backdrop. The hiking paths were starting to fall into disrepair, especially between the parking lot and the caves. Very pretty site.

The caves are beautiful to visit. The climb to get there is doable for most. Views across the lake and Alps are great. Unfortunately the eco system inside is in bad shape. But the formations are stunning

Beautiful caves, made accessible for the wide public; expect to spend at least 30-60 minutes inside, wear warm clothes and anti-slip shoes. Because of the pathwalks built to make tha walk inside easier, a bit of the natural beauty of the place was lost and because it is so accessible, it can also get crowded and loud. Still, a stunningly beautiful place. When visiting, I would only get a ticket for the cave, not the additional ticket for the museum

Really cool experience, all around. Made a lunch reservation before doing the cave "tour". Lunch was surprisingly good! Started with a fried cheese medley for an appetizer. The cheese was exceptionally good. The crust on the outside was so crispy, and the soft creamy cheese on the inside was packed with flavor. The citrus and earthy flavors of everything else on the dish paired nicely with the cheese. Had the chicken and sweet potatoes for my entree, and everything was cooked perfectly. Chicken had great flavor, and the sweet potatoes were delicious. I had the was berry and ice cream dessert, that I didn't think I would finish because it was so big, but it was too good to let go to waste. The cave was SUPER cool. There are signs along the way explaining what you're looking at, and the water flowing through the cave, with waterfalls around every turn was really spectacular to see. Highly recommend giving this place a visit!

Pictures honestly don’t do this place justice!! It was such an incredible experience and for the price it is beyond worth it in value in my opinion. Husband and I came here on a whim and we were beyond pleasantly surprised. It’s quite a steep walk (uphill) to get to the actual caves, but the views on the way up are amazing and the walk is paved so not too difficult. Once inside the caves, the walkways/paths are clearly designated and it has sufficient lighting. There are info plaques as you go along. We didn’t get the audio guide but I don’t feel like we needed it. We spend a couple hours here and had an amazing visit. If you have any sort of discount card/pass make sure you present it before they ring up your tickets - they have a tiny sign saying to do so, but we missed it and the lady seemed a little frustrated with us. Nevertheless it was an amazing adventure and experience and we loved it! Tickets are same price online as in person so I don’t think you need to pre-purchase the tickets.

Bateaux Caves is an enchanting escape into an underground wonderland. The intricate rock formations and mesmerizing play of light create an ethereal atmosphere. Navigating through the labyrinthine passages, I felt a sense of awe and adventure. The knowledgeable guides shared captivating stories about the cave's history and geology, adding depth to the experience. The tour's pacing was well-balanced, allowing ample time to absorb the beauty around me. The natural acoustics of the cave enhanced the whispered tales and created a surreal auditory experience. Bateaux Caves is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of nature and human exploration. It's a must-visit for those seeking an unforgettable subterranean journey.

Beautiful nice hike up to the caves . Has a very good view of the lake. To enter the caves you need to pay 19 francs. There is no reduction with Swiss pass or half fare card. Better off saving money and just see it from outside which is free.

Beautiful caves to visit in Interlaken. The walk to the actual cave is quite steep and tiring, but at least you can enjoy the waterfall during your way up. The caves themselves are cool and interesting. If you have a baby, keep in mind that the path can sometimes be narrow, so a stroller is not recommended and instead I'd recommend a baby carrier. If you're driving to this place, have some (and a lot) of patience as parking is a nightmare. There are paid two parkings, but of which are small and fill-up very quickly. Also, if it's raining heavily, I'd recommend calling before visiting, as the cave maybe closed due to water, which is what happened to me the first time I visited.

Very expensive the entrance Fr.19, but it includes the entrance of the small museum of minerals they have found inside the cave. You can buy some there as well. The place was very nice, restaurant on the top, caves almost one km long with lots of underground lakes and streams. Very cold, so bring a jacket inside. Also you have to park at the bottom where the main street is, the machine wasn't working so not paid, and walk up several steps. I bought the tickets at the entrance, there was no waiting line or anything.

Quite a hike to get to the entrance of the cave, distance is not so long but the way up is very steep. Once you get to the top, you are rewarded with views of Lake Thun. Tickets were a bit expensive, but it is Switzerland! Total time to complete the cave tour is around 1 hr and make sure to bring a jacket as it’s chilly inside. There’s a nice cafe and restaurant at the entrance of the caves, where you can sit and enjoy the views. This place is dog friendly, but you have to buy a ticket (10 CHF). It’s also dark and dimly lit inside, with narrow paths at some points, so just prepare your furry friend for this trek.

Such a beautiful cave with lots of twists and turns and naturally formed structures and stalagmites. The cave is intricately cut and formed by the water flowing inside leading to amazing maze like contour. Some passages are really narrow and in some places you would require to duck and walk. If you are visiting with a toddler please carry a baby carrier as in some places the rocks are really low and you would need to bend a lot (we travelled with a 2 year old baby and had difficulty carrying him in our arms). I highly recommend to visit this place if you are going in the direction of Thun! There is a direct bus going from Interlaken to St. Beatus Höhlen (caves). P.S: don’t forget your hiking shoes as in some places it’s quite damp and slippery! :)

Wear comfy shoes! Uphill all the way into the cave but nice downhill walk coming out. They advise taking a jacket as its between 8 and 10 degrees in the caves, but we walked around with only shorts and a tshirt and were fine. One is quite warm inside the caves. Beautiful caves, loads of water.

Quite a steep climb up to the caves but they are very well maintained. Site is lovingly cared for, couldn't fault anything. Toilets at the top near the cafe which was reasonably priced. Busy but not overwhelming, not many car parking spots so get there early if you can. Glad we went, it's an interesting spot.

Nice cave located on the way between Mirlingen and Interlaken, and can be reached by bus from each of them. You need to climb long stairs to reach the entrance, where you find the ticket office and a waiting area The cave is efficiently enlightened and takes around 45 minutes to reach the end with climbing in most of the time Signs are good but not enough There was no guide , we saw no staff inside at all Nice to see if you haven’t seen a cave before, but if you did, it is not that worthy

It was a cool place to visit if you have some time to spare. To me, it was 'so-so' and not particularly a place I would re-visif when I'm back. Glad I did it this time though and walk through it all. It was truly an experience. The entire thing was about an hour walk back and forth inside the cave. I enjoy seeing huge dogs along the way and I believe the dogs enter for free as long as there's two adults. I would still recommend this place. Do note that this place is not covered under Swiss Travel Pass nor Top of Europe Pass as it's in a different zone/region known as Berner Oberland.

Nice place to experience and to know about this cave and his history behind that. Definitely you will feel amazed when you reach at the “Three sisters Grotto” in mid of the cave. There is surprise waiting for you, I don’t want to spoil your experience by explaining all my experiences. Just visit this place and enjoy the different experience.

Amazing experience. The caves are similar to the ones from the Pyrenees, in addition it has more water sources. The atmosphere is dark, cold, and the stalagmites are very cool. The caves are in different parts, most of the time being maze-like. At the end however, you need to do the whole trip back again to the entrance you came from. Overall, a very good experience there and I recommend going.

We came to the caves early in the day close to opening time. It took quite a bit of time to trek up to the entrance to the cave. Along the way though was a gorgeous waterfall!! From the top their were mazing views from the top of the waterfall to the lake below. The caves were really cool and worth the trek through them. There are many interesting formations and it was cool to see the history of the cave along the way.

The cave was nice and fairly long. I was lucky to be there during a slow period and had been able to take our time and not feel rushed. Most of these caves look very similar as I've been to quite a few. But no matter how many times I've gone I have always enjoyed them. We purchased our tickets half of with our Swiss pas so I believe it was 17fr with access to the museum which was quite small. But I hope the pictures I post will give you a little insight and encourage you to visit as a adult with friends or a family with kids

Really beautiful cave, must visit. Well maintained. The artificial saint recreation is also realistic. It takes approximately an hour to walk around, i didnt see the dragon there. There are some spots with lights and scientific info, it makes journey more curious.

Beautiful caves with wonderful views. We went when it was snowing, it looked wonderful. It takes around 5mins from the station to reach the entrance, they have a museum on level 1 and caves above that. The museum has a self guided audio tour available which makes everything very easy. It takes around 1 hour to see the museum. The caves are beautiful, some magnificent variety of stones and formations. I would recommend going to the museum first so that we can learn about all the different things which will be visible inside and can relate to it.

  • 3/5 Mathias M. 9 months ago on Google

  • 4/5 Angela H. 9 months ago on Google

The caves were formed underwater a million years ago, there are various interesting rocks and shapes to see which are purely created by water naturally. Even of one isn't interested in rocks, the waterfall from under the rocks is nice to watch!

Nice experience to walk around in a cave and see the waterfalls inside it. You walk almost a kilometer inside the cave and you climb up a bit. Tickets are 19 CHF per person. Buses to this place run every hour. You would need 1.5 - 2 hours to visit the entire place.

Well developed tourist attraction. Not much activity to do, but it may create an interest in speleology (study of caves). Steep but short climb till the ticket counter. Post that, there is around a km walk through the caves.

After hiking 33 stories from the jetty after taking the cruise from interlaken west, with a sore knee and crazy panting. I must say the caves were a god send. Amazing formations and waterfalls galore. It takes 1 hour to walk the caves and 5 mins back down to the bus stop. For those who don't want the climb, take the bus 21 from interlaken west or east. Either way it will be worth it

Situated in a convinient location in Interlaken. The entry pass to the cave is about CHF 19 and CHF 3 for car parking. The pass includes access to museum as well as the St. Beatus Caves. The insides of the cave is really fascinating with lots of trivia boards and interesting facts. The whole experience is about 45mins to an hour long. The steap hike toward the Cave is quite rewarding too with the view of waterfalls and a lovely cafe on top overlooking the magnificient lake of Interlaken. Make sure you grab a cup of coffee with the view.

We had a very nice experience at the St Beatus Caves. Unlike others, we do recommend going into the caves! It offers a nice cooling effect during the summer, and seeing the caves is quite impressive. There is a restaurant near the entrance which is ok if you need a quick bite or drink. We do NOT recommend coming by the boat if you have elders/kids. It’s a very tough hike coming from the docking point! Your best option is to take the bus to also having to find parking etc.

  • 5/5 Travel B. 8 months ago on Google
Wonderful place, especially by rain. You can easily reach the cave by ship or bus from Thun, Spiez or Interlaken. The name of the bus or ship stop is "Beatushöhlen-Sundlauenen". The walking time from the ship stop is 20-30min and 5-10min from the bus stop. The cave goes approximately 1kilometer deep in the mountain and is almost the whole year 8-10 degrees. Nest cooling spot in the summer. The price is from adult 19.- and from children until 16 years 11.-. I really recommend the restaurant 'Stein und sein'. The way into and out isn't really wide. It's a visit worth in combination with the ship trip - hope you enjoy it
