Excellent place to have dinner. Small patio outside, hidden between the walls of the city. This place is small and if you donā€™t look in the right place you might miss it. Itā€™s away from the business of the streets and tourists, but it gets pretty busy with customers. The entrance is between Paradiso and Chops. Look for the signs and the stairs leading to the narrow alley. Make sure you make a reservation or show up early, otherwise you might be out of luck for a table. Service was good, the server was prompt and took our order(make sure you get their attention after youā€™ve made your choices). Our server went above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of. The food was very good. We ordered chicken salad, pasta bolognese, and pasta carbonara. They were amazing the taste and presentation were amazing. The portions are pretty good, more than what youā€™d get some other places. They have a fully stacked bar, and a wood run brick pizza oven. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Restaurant Maslina in Split exceeded all our expectations with its exquisite seafood platter for two and mouthwatering lava cake for dessert. From start to finish, our dining experience was nothing short of amazing. The seafood platter was a true masterpiece. It showcased the freshest catch of the day, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. Each bite was a burst of flavor, highlighting the natural sweetness of the seafood. From succulent shrimp to perfectly grilled fish, every element was cooked to perfection. The variety and quality of seafood on the platter were truly impressive, making it a seafood lover's dream come true. As for the lava cake, it was an absolute delight. The rich, velvety chocolate oozed out with each spoonful, accompanied by a scoop of decadent ice cream. The cake had a flawless balance of sweetness and richness, leaving us craving for more. It was the perfect ending to an already extraordinary meal. Beyond the food, the service at Maslina was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, ensuring that every need was met throughout the evening. The ambience of the restaurant was also charming, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere that added to the overall dining experience.

Sirloin Steak overcooked I ordered medium rare and photo will tell. We send it back but still got charged for it. Calamari was goodā€¦Tender and juicy Fish Soup 2 out of 5 Pizza 3 out of 5 Squid Ink pasta 3.5 out of 5 Flavor is good but noodles overcooked and a little watered down. Overall I would give somewhere between 2-3

Fish was good, meat mediocre. Ordered for 15 people , gave 20ā‚¬ in tips and they wouldn't offer a round of rakia on the house

I went to this restaurant as a group of 4 and we loved it so much the first night, we actually came back for a second night! The food is very delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend the truffle makuni, black spaghetti with shrimp, gnocchi with bacon sauce and ravioli!!! Amazing food and service!

Love this place! Came here two nights in a row and was never disappointed. It is a bit hard to find, but it's accessible from the main road, via the square and then up some stairs and around the corner. A true hidden gem. The seafood risotto tasted great and the pizza was decent too. Big portions and the risotto was literally full of shrimps. All that for a very reasonable price with very friendly waiters. Both nights the restaurant was busy, so it's wise to reserve a table. Highly recommend Maslina šŸ‘Œ

Great quiet place with local music and kind service. Behind small "frame door" on the wall is hiding unexpected surprise that will make your day. šŸ˜Š Food is delicious.

It was little hard to find the entrance/ this place. We literally walked around the block twice and finally found the little sign by the concrete wall and stairs. So the way to get there, itā€™s located between ā€œChop Grillā€ and an other bar, so have to look carefully. Most importantly, Everyone/every place have right to refused to serve. Wellā€¦ we set and waited for about 15 to 20min and no one came to help us. It is ok if we were not welcome. So we left. We wish them well

The food was great, but the service wasnā€™t, unfortunately. Greek salad was fresh and made out of local vegetables, feta and olives, which are incredible. Pizza was amazing too. But waiters werenā€™t attentive at all, we werenā€™t even greeted or guided where we can take place, they took our order and thatā€™s it. But so far the food was amazing, I would like to try it again despite the service.

My favorite restaurant in Split by far! Delicious food and fantastic service! Itā€™s tucked away from the main road, which makes for a really nice ambiance for the night. The entrance is to the side of Chops Grill (look for the sign). I tried the PaÅ”ticada, ravioli, and the picante pizza, but Iā€™m sure everything is good here. The service alone is worth coming back for! Their house white wine is really good, too! Truly loved this restaurant!!!

Excellent service, and very helpful staff. Upon selecting the meat platter, was advised to cancel the starters as it would be a lot of food..hows that for honest opinion.. Steaks were very good value and well cooked. Good selection of drinks, dessert really wasn't an option. Highly recommended.

Seated straight away, order taken quickly and drinks served straight away. Ordered two pizzas, which you would assume would be quick. But had to wait over 45mins to be served. Saw other tables who ordered other dishes be served before us. Not sure why it took so long, but noticed everyone who had ordered pizzas also waiting ages. The pizzas were tasty, but there are plenty of other good places for pizza in split.

Very nice place, away from the crowded center even tho itā€™s near it. The food is great, the personnel is also nice. The price is affordable and quality is here. I definitely recommend this restaurant 100% worth it.

Nice fish pate & mains (Å”kampi pizza & sea bass) . Prices are good as compared to restaurants in or near the palace. 16ā‚¬ for a sea bass! Not that far away from the center as well. Waiters are friendly and efficient!

Came here after a recommendation from our hostel and after a bit of a mission finding the place we arrived at a really cute authentic restaurant. The food was delicious, staff friendly and we loved the atmosphere!

Great little restaurant tucked away opposite chops grill! Food is great, nothing fancy but good solid meals with huge portions! Love the chicken breast with grilled veg and Gorgonzola sauce- amazing taste and huge portion! The carbonara is great too, not authentic Italian but weā€™re not in Italy so not a problem! Great taste and fills you up. Their house wines are great, can get a litre bottle for just 20 euro. Service is efficient, attentive and friendly. Came here twice once for a date night and once with a group of 4. Would deffo recommend for a reliable relaxed meal.

Tucked away from the busy busy! Lots of locals eat here. No burgers, just good old Croatian bites. Great prices. Close to the cool hand fountain.

ā¤ļø Finally a NOT tourist rip-off. Whole Sea bass for only 16ā‚¬? We paid 38ā‚¬ for lunch of 2 people with wines and beer. Great pizza, lovely fish, nice staff. Everyone inside the restaurant was local. Iā€™m glad we found this hidden gem šŸ«¶šŸ»

Great food at amazing prices! It was a little tricky to find this restaurant but worth it. They have a wood burning oven which makes amazing pizzas. We had the prosciutto and mushroom pizza and the homemade pasta. Both were delicious!

Great food. Great service. Spaghetti bolognese and margherita pizza. All good. Take back alley to get there.

The Gnocci was good, but the girls I have been with got risotto and they ate like three forks of their food and then stopped because it didn't tasted good at all. I feel like they should remove risotto from their menu. This place should only do pizza I guess.

Lovely location down an alley out of the way of the main streets. Food could be better. Tuna steak was a little too slowly cooked, brown and soft throughout rather than pink in the middle and dark on the outside. Pizza was ok but wouldn't return for it. Staff weren't unfriendly but seemed a bit rushed and stressed.

  • 5/5 Doris K. 2 years ago on Google
I would say that it was the best restaurant in Split. The location is perfect, more intime and the staff was very polite and respectful. The Pizzas were delicious baked in a wood oven. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Such a lovely restaurant that is hidden away. I think this is a restaurant that locals visit as we didn't see many tourists there. Their food was delicious and it was well priced compared to other restaurants in the vicinity. I have a gluten allergy which they happily catered to. I had the squid and vegetables and it was really delicious.

Ravioli and the mushroom soup were alright, not so much for the rest. We visited as a group of 5 on a Sunday afternoon with the restaurant being fairly quiet. Somehow we waited over an hour for 3 soups, 1 pizza, 2 pastas and one grilled chicken breast. Apparently a bowl of clear hot water with the slightest hint of tuna smell is called a fish soup. Beef soup has not seen beef and neither will you. The chicken was dry and so were the fries. The most annoying thing was the wait though. Zero communication from the waiters. I guess they didnā€™t ask how the food was at the end for a reason.

We found this place on a rainy day in Split and it was cosy and warm and hidden away. A small space, 2pm and pretty busy with a mix of tourists and locals. The staff were quite brisk but otherwise happy to serve us in English which we were very grateful for. The menu was diverse with pizza, pasta, risotto, steak, seafood, salad and more. My partner had a pizza with beef fillet and I had the homemade makaruni with mushroom and truffles which was absolutely divine. Not a huge selection of desserts (mainly pancakes) so we moved on after our main course.

Hidden restaurant. Our craving for pizza and pasta was satisfied. Black speechwriter with shrimp and truffle was really good. The skampi pizza was ok, crust was thin but not enough crispy to our liking. We recommend:)

Great food and service. We really enjoyed the experience. We ordered four cheese pizza, four cheese gnocchi, mussels and the grilled fish. Delicious!

Delicious and well priced food. We had lasagna and mussels which were fantastic. Plus a litre of local wine- you canā€™t go wrong!

Great pizza! We tasted 4cheesses and Smoked ham pizzas, both were absolutely tasty. Good place to eat in old town Split if you are on budget. Food is priced very reasonably, drinks are the same price as everywhere. Great service as well.

A hidden gem in the middle of split - very reasonably priced for the location, staff are friendly and knowledgeable about local wines and food. Our meal came out quickly and was well prepared, there was a very relaxed atmosphere for dining, which makes a change from places in the old town. We had mussels, bread and black spaghetti with shrimp, which was enough for 2 people - would recommend if you want somewhere relaxed and reasonably priced!

Beautiful place hidden along a small passage and reasonable prices. We had a 4 cheeses pizza, which was pretty good. Also had a seafood pizza but the scampi didn't taste fresh at all, rather mushy. Beer was standard, nice. Lemonade, seemed just lemon juice, way too sour to enjoy. Also service wasn't really there, no second menu given, cutlery just placed at the furthest corner of the table, solution for the lemonade was just to pour some more water in, pizza box to take away the remainder was quickly tossed on our table. Such a bummer, seemed such a nice place at first, but left feeling as we were just an inconvenience.

Good pizza, fair prices, friendly staff (also air conditioned). A bit hard to find but worth it. Friendly to tourists but we saw locals eating there as well.... and the local draft is pretty smooth.

This is a restaurant, not a pizzeria. They do sell pizzas but their menu is much more varied than that. I came here 4 times during my week in Split. I would recommend the gnocchi and beef in sauce, the sea bass, and also the salads + their bread are good. Don't get the spaghetti carbonara, there is far too much cream in it. Also the bruschetta wasn't good. But overall it's a decent place with fairly quick service.

This is really hidden gem restaurant in the heart of Split! We had the lasagna, ravioli and steak truffle pasta and panna cotta as desert. Everything was so good! Also the prices are very reasonable and the staff was lovely! Highly recommend!

The first time I came here I had the sea bass dinner and it was the best fish Iā€™ve had in Split and even the vegetables were prepared perfectly. Actually I canā€™t remember the last time I had a fish meal that good and I was just in Italy. The espresso was also perfect! Not burned, a proper Italian style espresso. Superb! I came back here for a popular beef meal at Christmastime and I was recommended a perfect wine that even though was on the menu as a bottle, they served me only a glass. It was another perfect meal. Iā€™ll be back for the pizza and possibly the lasagne because both looked incredible at the table next to me. This place is next to the old city wall which I loved walking next to to get here. Thanks for the lovely food and local style, home cooking.

Service was very friendly and the place was located in a beautiful place. We almost didn't find the place at first since it seemed that there were stairs leading to nowhere. Definitely worth the visit. We had the lasagne and homemade pasta with beaf, mushrooms and truffels - both excellent! Enjoy!

The restaurant is not easy to be found. That is even a bigger prove that it has to defend itself with the food they serve. And they do it correct :) Great variety, each of the dishes was perfect. Great fish pasta, warm bread for appetizer. Fantastic paste with truffles and steak. Very good pizza. The service was very fast and friendly. Worth visiting!
