Saint Domnius Bell Tower

Tourist attraction Monument

👍👍 Made the right decision to visit first thing as it opened at 8.00am. No queues to buy tickets or enter the tower and just a handful of people at the top viewing platform so no pressure to move on and could take in the views. Great views of Split. In the morning the sun is in the right place to view... People often mention tower, Split, view, bell, stairs, worth, climb, views, ticket, Tower,

Special Split in Charming Croatia is worth visisting and if you are able to, climb up the bell tower of 180 steps to get to the top for sweeping Split views, and panoramic 360 degrees view and photographs from the top. Steps start rather steep at the beginning, but become manageable stainless steel stairs after the first few flights of stone stairs. It is EUR7 for the bell tower, but I got the EUR12 green ticket with entrances to the Bell Tower, Cathedral and Treasury. Split is home to a 1,700 year old Roman Emperor Diocletian palace with remnant portions such as cellars (and a UNESCO World Heritage site). Split also has many restaurants and a market place selling souvenirs and produce. Have fun exploring the labyrinthine streets and arcaded squares of Special Split.

The tower is the highest vantage point in Split. It is a tourist attraction but well worth it. It costs +-€10,- to view four of these tourist attractions. The tower is the best in my opinion. The ticket station is also the square near the ruins. You have to climb a lot of stairs to get to the top of the tower. Once you arrive at the top of the tower, you can look over the whole of Split. Definitely recommended if you are in Split

A must do in split. The tower is quite tricky to climb. Unfortunately there is no help so if you have some mobility issue, you can’t do it. Also it requires some flexibility as it is as it was. Quite narrow and big steps. The view from the top is phenomenal. Will recommend to see and take some pictures from up and on the way down

A must go place when you are in the old historic center in Split. The admission fee is 40 HRK for adults, 20 HRK for kids above 12 years old. Younger kids can visit the tower free of charge. You have to buy the tickets in the office across the square. You can buy different combined tickets with other tourist sites in the Diocletians Palace or a single ticket just for the Bell Tower. Also the best time to visit this place is right after opening hours at 8 am. If this review helped you, please be sure to give it a like.

It was beautiful! The view was gorgeous, and it was a very lovely experience. The closing time is 6:30 but the last entrance is 5:30. The stairs are quite steep and there are a whole 180 so if you are not physically fit I do not suggest it. Overall very good 👍

The most definitive landmark of the city. The cathedral bell tower is one of those places that you must visit in Split, The ticket is 50 Kuna (includes, the cathedral, the bell tower and the baptistery) and I think it's worth it. The stairs leading to the viewing platform have been entirely replaced with a modern steel construction and are fairly comfortable. There are also several landings along the way where you may rest if you're so inclined. Views from the top are excellent, if you can fight off the other tourists, that is.

Beautiful 57 meter tall bell tower built in 13th century and is considered one of the most iconic medieval structures in all of Dalmatia, which is not for the faint hearted to climb on. Great 360 panoramic view of the whole old town of Split and students also have cheaper entrance. Everyone should check it out.

Amazing view, but Ticket needed and long waiting times. Also only steep stairs, no elevator. But definitely worth a visit

The only ticket what I suggest to buy (of course, if you like the great view). The stairs are well secured and the view is great. The only problem is the congestion. The other church and museum tickets worth not buying.

Wonderful experience. Views were stunning and gives a totally different perspective of Split than can be appreciated from the ground. The tower itself is beautiful from the inside, we found ourselves in awe of the stone masonry skills required to build the tower. If you look closely at the limestone blocks you will see little marine life fossils, a lovely detail you cannot see from afar. The ticket office opens around 8am, so we came early having seen the long queue for the tickets the day before. As we were there early morning it was nice, quiet and peaceful. The bell tower does require a good level of mobility to navigate the first few steps, but this does become a much easier climb on the modern metal staircase once inside the tower. I would highly recommend.

The view was truly amazing 🤩 Students get discount (half price) for the tickets, the bell tower only is HRK 20.

I was slightly put off by the long climb up but it isn’t as bad as I thought and was completely worth the effort. It’s a stunning view all the way up and the architecture of the tower also enhances the view. Didn’t think I’d have an opinion on a bell tower but was the most beautiful tower I’ve been up. Highly recommend!

Great views and a cool internal structure. You are supposed to buy tickets, but once you are in the cathedral the entryway to the tower is open

It was the most beautiful sight in the split center! The view is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the stairs.

I only bought a ticket to the Bell Tower at a price of 7 euros. The view from the top is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend visiting the Bell Tower and enjoying the view.

This was probably the busiest attraction we visited in Split. Tickets are available from the office just opposite the cathedral. The climb started with a couple of floors of steep stone steps and then changed to an open metal staircase, which was far worse for vertigo! There were views on each level but obviously you had to go to the top to get the best all round views. This took a while as people were coming down the stairs too so you had to pause at each level. The views from the top were as impressive as you'd expect and it was the first time we realised the number of cruise ships that were docked in the town. We also got to see Marjan Hill which we'd only seen on the map before and that was our next destination. After a careful walk down we were back on stone flooring and could relax. It's worth a pause to look at the bells on the way down now and the structure itself is impressive for a thousand year old tower.

This church is the oldest Christian church built since 4th century! The tower is a sight to behold. The ancient architecture is worth seeing with nearby small forum.

Between the cathedral and the bell tower, I'd choose the bell tower 10 out of 10 times. It is the most definitive landmark of the city. Absolutely stunning. Very beautiful architecture and design. The bell tower was constructed in the year 1100 AD, in the Romanesque style. Extensive rebuilding in 1908 radically changed the Bell Tower, and many of the original Romanesque sculptures were removed.

Pretty building from the outside and the view from the top is beautiful but too many people in the Tower at the same time, so it's quite difficult to walk and climb the stairs.

Pretty bell tower that offers good views across the entire city and beyond to sites like Kliss Fortress. Would recommend getting there first thing in the morning to get the top of the tower to yourself!

40 kn to climb just the Bell Tower. Had to queue for a while due to it getting busy up there. The first few steps are extremely steep and narrow, but then it gets easier with normal steel stairs. Beautiful views from the top.

You can not visit Split and not check the bell tower ! Splendide views are awaiting you on the top of the tour, you can check 4 different looks of the city for the 4 corners of the tower!

Very nice view, there was live music from a bar nearby. It’s super cool to see during golden hour which resonates with the whiteness of the place. Good to see while in Split :)

Saint Domnius Bell Tower is a part of Cathedral. It worth to upstairs to enjoy the amazing 360 view of old center of Split city.
