A local recommended we come here for the fish. We got a whole fish prepared in the House Specialty, Dalmatian style soup. Excellent for 2 people, could have even served 3! The waiters were attentive and professional, and gave us knowing smiles when we walked outside for brief cooling-down periods while we ate hot soup on a summer night. The music and ambiance of the place was great too. Comfortable, with charm.

Good location. Bad wifi. Limited hot water. Kitchen didn't work. The owner casually said "oh yeah, we had a fire a few years ago, so the kitchen does not work". We booked this place partly because it has a kitchen, as seen in the many pictures on Expedia. False advertising!

The bed and it’s bedding were terrible. The bed was uncomfortable and there was no power points in the kitchen. For paying PREMIUM prices during its peak season I expected better than this!

Good hotel a few minutes walk to the old town. We had a very warm welcome and our room, up many many steps, was modern and well appointed. Breakfast in the attached restaurant was good and the internet was very fast. As long as you can handle the stairs, this is a great place to stay.

Great food, and great service! It's a small place with a lot of charm, good English, and the staff are willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. (Gluten free options!) The white house wine is good and matches well with seafood.

I thought this B&B was fantastic, and would definitely recommend it to anyone spending a few days in Split. As it's just barely in the boundaries of the UNESCO World Heritage Site that covers all of old-town Split, it's very walkable to all parts of the old town (5 minutes or less), plus Marjan Hill, the Ferry terminals, and even Bačvice Beach (about 30 minutes away). I was fortunate enough to get a room in the loft on the top floor, affording wonderful views. The rooms are small and cozy, definitely good for two people. It was nice to have a fridge in the room as well, because Croatian craft beer is very solid - it can also be found at the Konoba (bar) at street level, under the B&B. The staff at this hotel were excellent, from the Manager to the Konoba Staff to housekeeping; unfortunately some of our luggage was delayed on our flight into Split, but they were very accommodating in helping us deal with this headache. I couldn't speak highly enough of Villa Matejuska, and should I ever return to Split, I would love to stay here again.

This restaurant was recomended by our hotel. The atmosphere is very good. We ordered a table the day before. As for food, the grilled fish was excellent with a tasty side dish. The ramsteak was a bit chewy, and the price for the grilled fish was a bit high.

The restaurant had tables available when others nearby needed reservations so that was a bonus. Grilled calamari was incredible and the place was small and cozy.

Food was nice, but portions were small and value for money is pretty low. Probably good in the past, but it's become just another tourist trap today.

Food was really good, but we were told we would have to wait half an hour for a table hour, which ended up being over an hour and a half without any explanation from the waiters. Otherwise would recommend.

Great place to stay v clean and centrally located. Help with bags much appreciated
