My complete favorite in Split. The taste is absolutely amazing, the place it cozy and welcoming and the best is the service. I would recommend it over and over again. Meals cooked with very fresh ingredients and you can definitely tell by the taste.

One of my most memorable meals in Croatia. The beef stew was excellent! The portion was super big for me, but everything tasted delicious. The owner was super friendly and spoke perfect English. The price was also much cheaper than those you find in the old town.

Wow!! What a gem we found! Service by Ante was excellent: very hospitable, accommodating, great conversations AND suggestions, and just super personable. The food was very delicious! We got the ram, cow tongue, and calamari. I love their fresh (seasonal) concept! I'm so glad we had the opportunity to eat here!

We had a fantastic lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The owner was extremely helpful in suggestions for our group of 5. The fish and side dishes were deliciously fresh and authentic Split delicacies. The house white wine was light and a perfect pairing for our meals. I highly recommend finding Ciba. Google maps sent us on a maze of turns and we almost abandoned our mission, but patience prevailed and we were rewarded with a wonderful lunch.

Fantastic food and friendly staff. My favorit in Split. We had the Swordfish and it was excellent. The meny depends on what they buy for the day. Must be fantastic to eat here more often.

This was my wife and my favorite restaurant in Split and the runners up cost significantly more. We went for lunch one day and then again two days later. Everything is fresh, so the menu changes based on what is available. Perhaps because he knew we wouldn't be able to read the menu off the chalkboard, the proprietor would walk over and list off what was available. He also gave us some quick language lessons, told us about the restaurant, and recommended wine. He just has this laid back great attitude, I walked away feeling like I'd made a friend. All the food was amazing. Since the menu isn't set I can't properly recommend anything except for the bread which was served on both visits. Another HUGE benefit in my opinion was that all the tables were inside so there was no one smoking next to where we were trying to eat. If this restaurant were in my hometown I would come once a week.

Bistro Ćiba was the best place we ate it in Croatia. Being local, the prices were very affordable and the quality of the food did not reflect on the prices at all. The waiter was very engaging and welcoming. We want to try several items on their dinner board and waiter helped organise us a huge seafood platter with roasted veggies. Overall the food was delicious, the ambience was great and the cheap table wine was the cherry on top.

Throughout the trip, I had been trying similar dishes. However, in this restaurant, I had the chance to try something different with their daily specials, and it was absolutely delicious.

A small restaurant with quality and healthy food. Everything they cook and prepare is freshly cooked. We are always happy to come to Ćibe because the staff happily welcomes us, serves us and takes care of their guests. They are not rash, but try to please each individual. The food is great, so the recommendations are great for what you choose from the menu. 

Ciba was the surprise of our trip to Split! It is located in an inconspicuous location, with nautical-style decoration and beautiful vines. It mainly deals in local seasonal food. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. They all have captain-style beards and chat with us humorously. The food is So tasty, fresh and filling, one of our fondest memories of our trip to Split.

Very good local place to eat top quality food. Service was great, lot's of fun and good recommendations. Walking distance from city centre.

Came for good food (based on reviews), stayed for respective attitude, and eventually had the best gastronomic experience in Split. Fish, side dishes, desert — everything was delicious. Host was charming. Prices were more than fair. If I ever come back to Split, this will be the first place to go. Please mind that the place has relatively short working hours and is fairly popular, so better book a table.

We couldn’t wait to return to our favourite restaurant in Split after the two weeks sailing trip around Croatia. Antonio is such a great host and had a table for us on a busy Wednesday afternoon. This time we tried the grilled Hake, Octopus with polenta, calf’s liver, a selection of vegetable side dishes, and of course the anchovies for starter, all were prepared to perfection! So lucky we discover this little restaurant serving traditional local food with the freshest ingredients, definitely will be coming back next time we are in Split!

AMAZING….. Food, service and hospitality all absolutely wonderful! Antonio is such a great host, we had John Dory, Scorpion Fish, Bream, Calamari, Anchovies……. cannot ask for a better meal before the start of our Adriatic sailing adventure! Will definitely be coming back!!!!!

This place is amazing and Ante the owner was such a pleasure to chat with. The seasonal menu is lovely each and everyday. Just remember, they close at 6pm and start to run out of stuff towards the end of the day. I didn't have any issues with this as we mostly ate around 4pm or 5pm, but if you worry about this, go there for lunch. Reasonably priced especially for the quality as well. Definitely my favorite place I ate at in Split!

Recommend if you are looking for a local food. Ćiba refers to a bird cage. You will understand when u see the place. The place is quite small and its often full so don’t come here with empty stomach. The menu gets changed daily depends on what they have. bon appetit 😋

Great food, only what is fresh and in season, so their menu changes daily! Our server Ante was the best. Great service, friendly and good sense of humour. We felt very welcomed. We will be back!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, but the food... no words! Like homemade at your grandma's! If you wanna play safe, chicken and potates is the way to go but I recommend trying something different like fish or something else of the daily menu. We're not eating anywhere else when we come back to Split, Ćiba is a refreshment in the sea of restaurants.

Quick review: Delicious. Affordable. Friendly. MUST VISIT. Would give 6 out of 5 if I could. Hands down the BEST dining experience we had in Split. Service from Ante was faultless- he explained their menu (changes daily based on fresh produce!) and was one of the friendliest people we have met. The food was the best we have had in the country and tasted so authentic. We had the lamb stew and the cuttlefish goulash with some bread. I wish we found this sooner as I would have come back again. I will be dreaming of this food on my flight home 😭

First place we visited after coming to visit for the first time- gotta say it was DELICIOUS. The food and service was phenomenal. Definitely worth it.

We were in the area and decided to try this place as we saw it had good reviews on Google. As soon as we entered we realised what an awesome little gem it was! Amazing service, great GREAT food and so affordable! We arrived late in the afternoon, so the owner explained they ran out of some items on the menu - we just trusted his suggestions and couldn’t have been happier. Highly recommended!!
