👍👍 The place is awesome. One of the oldest pubs in Spokane dating back to prohibition! Pool tables and great food. Staff were super nice and we felt at home! We were just passing through and felt like we’ve known them forever. Super chill. Definite recommend! People often mention great, good, time, service, friendly, fries, chicken, owners, Alex, love,

Super glad the house we bought has this hidden gem as my nearest watering hole. With one of the longest running liquor licenses in the city (oh if the walls could talk) and the nicest outdoor sand volleyball court I've seen in the area, it's a great spot to chill and have a beer, throw a big birthday party (like I did this year), play pool, ping pong, volleyball...AND the food is great too. The owners and everyone who works there are cool as hell. I always have a great time when I'm there!

Kent was running the bar and the floor tonight, and handled it well. We met Alex, one of the owners, and had a great night. The locals were in force, and everyone was friendly. The place has looked like the same dump on the outside for 50 years, but it is a classic, old school, magnificent pub grandpa and anyone with a sense of history and future would love. Try it, over and over again, trust me!

Went here last weekend for lunch as recommended by a good friend. The outside of the restaraunt is easily dismissed for its old timey plain exterior. I would never have stopped in if she hadnt recommended it.....wow, what a hidden gem! Immediately upon walking in I felt a comfort in the murmur and laughter of conversation of people gathered at the bar. My friend and I were seated for lunch. The menu was surprisingly nostalgic with some entrees I hadnt eaten in years as well as updated items that reflected current items found on modernized pub menus. I was struck by the casual ambience and the vintage interior was relaxing. Alex seated us and shared his thoughts on the entrees when I asked about them. The food was excellent (shrimp basket) and the fries were some of the best Ive had in a long time! It may not appeal to all because its definitely not a slick glass and steel uppity yuppy sterile feeling interior but if one is looking for a tasty bite and a warm spot to relax (think of "Cheers") then this is it..... It is a true neighborhood gathering spot! I will be back with friends. I definitely want several items on that menu before I shout out my favorite. LOL

Excellent service, atmosphere and food! Friendly people! The sand volleyball court out back is fully shaded late afternoon through evening.

Certainly some of the friendliest staff we've encountered in the Spokane metro, and every one of them in continuous movement taking care of the dining and bar area. Made it all seem so effortless. The Broasted Chicken here is the stuff of legend. Been over a decade since my last visit, and it was my Wifey's first time. The new owners are doing the food just how I remembered. Just with more smiles than the last management, haha. Last night's dinner we went with a large order of their Broasted Wings, and they were fantastic. Big, meaty, perfectly crispy on the outside, and perfectly done on the inside. I also ordered their house Burger, and the Macaroni Salad that I selected as a side was amazing. It had shredded white-meat chicken, and could have been a meal in itself. Parking can be tricky at peak times, but it's definitely worth half a block's walk to visit. It's one of the oldest restaurants in the city, and they're still hitting it outta the park. The new ownership/team is awesome...

Full of characters on both side of the bar. We've never had a boring time yet. It's bar food, but we're there for the peeps. Reely fun.

I had my first experience with Broasted Chicken wings. Now I have heard of Broasted chicken but never had it definitely not in wing form. These were the best wings i have had in a very long time. Good size fresh and crisp. The chicken was very moist and flavorful. I will surely put this in my rotation of eating stops.

Such a fun place! Great food, full bar, kid-friendly and enough screens to catch any game. A hidden gem that I selfishly hope stays this way!

I love this place! My wife inherited the family home in Loon Lake. One day I got online searching for Volleyball or running, or something to do on a long weekend in Loon Lake. Maxwell popped up, so I made the drive into town. I’m so glad I did. I’m awful with names, but I think the owners are Alex and Ethan and they’re great guys. They’re kind, attentive, hands-on and invested in the community; they’re good, good guys. There’s also community there. Kevin was the first guy I met. He kind of orchestrates the VB at Maxwell House. I really like the dude. He’s incredibly welcoming and generous. Kevin’s attracted a pretty solid crew of lovely people. Billy the lawyer and Lionel the painter are also giving, gregarious souls and I love playing ball with them. They provide a great sense of community. I love this place.

Not my first time but first time I never enjoyed the food! The $7 bowl of soup was only half a bowl and had way to much salt and pepper, waiter did try to make up with a small cup of more soup but sister could not eat it due to the salt as she had open heart and has to go LOW salt.

My business partner and I stopped by for some drinks and fish and chips. It was delicious. Cool building and great staff! He never added the tip line to the amount my credit card got ran. Guess I owe him $10 next time we roll through.

We had a good experience here! It looks a little sketch on the outside but inside it’s totally normal. We parked on the street out front but there is limited parking and can be tricky on the road being right there. We had great food and great service. We were so excited about all the gluten free options especially gf mozzarella sticks!! For some reason it was hazy in the restaurant but it didn’t bother us too bad.

Food is great. The burger & fries are really good. Though I have noticed that they give a very small amount of fries with the burgers lately. Used to be twice as much. When we go I have to order an extra fry when I order a burger & fries for my kids because it's not enough.

Great service and delicious food. I had the Maxwell burger and fries and very much enjoyed it. The fries are unique having a breaded appeal. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I will be back.

It's a bar with food. Foods ok. Service is excellent. Ambience (it's a bar). If you like to play pool, or watch sports. It's the place for you. It's nestled in a nice little neighborhood.

I ordered the shrimp and fries as well as the fish and chips. I tolerated just 3 bites of this whole mess. Tasted like it had been re-heated old food. Rubbery and maybe re-warmed in a microwave. 32 bucks wasted. Just nasty, never again!

Would have thought they would have invested a few more dollars in general maintenance and upkeep. Denny in the place for the last 40 years in it hasn't spent any money on anything.

Maxwell House is exactly what you'd expect it to be... A pub full of neighbourhood locals who make you feel welcome. Comfort food cooked well even late at night.

Their food is amazingly good! Plus it's celiac friendly. The owner is very friendly and is knowledgeable about food allergies. Me and my husband will definitely go back.

Great food, huge portions, and very reasonable priced. I have celiac and the owner was extremely knowledgeable about it. They have a good selection of gluten free options. I had the broasted chicken and it was amazing, nice and crispy just like fried chicken, moist and good flavor. My wife had the fish and chips and she really liked them. I'm normally not a big fan of tartar sauce but their house made tartar sauce is hands down the best I have ever had, nothing else compares to it. The service was excellent and the owner was very friendly. Will definitely go back.

My first visit, not much to look at from the outside, but what a welcoming atmosphere. I took my friend who is currently in a wheelchair. The staff were instantly there to help us in the door. Simple menu, but we found something to snack on and had great drinks. Definitely will go back. A Spokane historical site for sure. They understand customer service.

Cool to local neighborhood bar. Owners are young and vibrant. Crowd is a nice mix of locals and college graduates. Beach volleyball court.

Good, cheap food in a nice casual atmosphere. It doesn’t look like much outside but feels like a locals’ spot on the inside. Bartender was very friendly and helpful.

Great, friendly service. 3 stars because I didn't care for the French dip. There was nothing wrong with it, one of my companions enjoyed hers. The seasoning wasn't as expected. The fries were fabulous!! New owners have continued much of the previous owners menu, including the wonderful broasted chicken. Will go there again

  • 5/5 A P. 2 years ago on Google
Oh yeah. Just get the broasted chicken and thank me next time we see each other. Don't drink and drive, you might spill your drink.

Ethan and Alex have done a great job carrying on the legacy, cleaning up the restaurant and revamping the menu. Fun times for all, keep up the good work!

Amazing food, everyone is super friendly and it’s just a great place to have a good time. We’ve been coming here since I was a kid and it’s only gotten better with time, we even had my boy’s first birthday party here recently! I can’t say enough good things.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating. We even had our sons birthday party here and all of the kids were able to burn off quite a bit of energy playing in the sandy volleyball court. Highly recommend!!
