Excellent place! Very nice and clean rooms with ac, hot shower, and balcony. Best surf guiding in Sri Lanka. If you really want to improve your surfing. Shannon is your man. He explains incredibly well and in-depth! And if you need a good coffee or a healthy bowl, the cafe is the place to be! I will come back for sure.

A recommendation for anyone who wants to learn or improve their surfing! Imke and Shannon have not only created a guesthouse here but also a beautiful place with a great atmosphere. The beginner surf lessons were not only instructive but also great fun. The video analysis after the surf session helped us enormously to improve our mistakes. The atmosphere in the guesthouse is welcoming and warm; you immediately feel like part of a surfing family. The rooms, some of which are air-conditioned, offer a perfect retreat after a day on the beach. Particularly memorable: the delicious cappuccino with coconut milk and the tasty peanut bowl for breakfast - the café is open not only to guests. Imke and Shannon love what they do and help with any questions, making you feel completely at ease. Contacting them was straightforward via email and WhatsApp after we had booked on their website. Not to forget: the super beautiful beach, just a stone's throw away, and their dog, who we took straight to our hearts. :) If you're looking for a mix of surfing, warm hospitality, and a place to feel at home, this is the place for you!

This place is very nice. Their cafe is very new, clean and they make very good coffee!!! They have waffles on the Menu! 😋 Really nice atmosphere. I really love the way the place has been done up, nice chill are inside to relax also an outside part with a company seat and table. Highly recommend 10/10. The managers are pretty cool also 😉

First of all - finally original homemade waffles by a German recipe. Second of all - homemade delicious cakes freshly made. A perfection :) You can grab a coffee and enjoy the hosts company :) they are super lovely too 😉

Nice and clean rooms in a beautiful house with a cute little cafe and the atmosphere is like at home with the family! I enjoyed every surf lesson, every meal in the cafe and every evening, we stayed at the house. Thank you for everything! See you next time :-)

We came to enjoy the beaches and also took surfing lessons! Imke and Shannon are very kind hosts which made us feel at home. The rooms are big, clean and have AC. My highlight were the surfing lessons. I can’t believe that I was able to learn the surfing basics in a short time and loved how much time they took to explain everything as well as making video analysis. Everything is done in such a lovely and caring way. We definitely recommend this place!

Unfortunately our group was too big to stay at the guest house but we enjoyed their coffee and treats every day. Great coffee and super delicious homemade cakes. The waitress is such a nice lady and the owners are outgoing and always ready to help out. Although we didn’t stay there, we had a look at the rooms and they are modern with a cozy interior and AC.

It’s hard to describe how much we enjoyed staying at the Sea Life guest house. We only stayed for three night (actually just two nights for a start but we loved it so much and the owners Shannon and Imke made it possible for us to stay longer). The rooms are so lovely, totally clean and everything works perfectly. Shannon and Imke are so sweet and helpful and the way they are running the place makes it feel like home. You have to booked this place and taste their excellent coffee. We hope to come back!

Sea Life Cafe in Polhena is a true gem. The cozy and welcoming ambiance makes you feel right at home. The cafe offers a fantastic selection of cakes and dishes that are simply delightful. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, always ready to help with their local expertise. A must-visit spot that I highly recommend!

We stayed here for 5 nights. Great located, nice spacious and clean rooms. Super nice owners. I also had a surfguiding with Shannon and can absolutely recommend doing that if you have the chance, no matter what level you are. Just in one session I learned so many things and feel like I have a much better knowledge to build up on.

The Sea Life team was amazing. I booked them for surf guiding and coaching. It made such a difference to have their local knowledge available. They drove me to great surf spots, and some secret ones too 🤫. Plus nothing beats coming back to a tasty breakfast and top notch coffee after a long session.

A true jem on the south coast of Sri lanka. Home away from home - I can't recommend Sea Life highly enough! Shannon and Imke are lovely hosts - welcoming and accommodating. Both have a passion for top quality coffee and top quality food (I recommend the peanut smoothie bowl and the savoury waffles!). The rooms are smart, clean and super comfortable. I have already been back... And will definitely stay again!!
