Chandrika Lake is a beautiful lake situated in Embilipitiya in the Ratnapura district. Although a bit off the radar for tourists, this lake is a popular attraction among the locals and the villagers. Villagers gather here to bathe and have a good time with family and friends. The lake reflects a beautiful blue colour from its water.

Chandrika Wewa(Lake) is a large reservoir located in the Embilipitiya area in the Rathnapura district in the Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. As the reservoir fills up during the rainy season, releasing more water through the outlets, at that time it becomes a great place to bathe. In the evening you can watch the sunset very beautifully in here. Ideal for Photography. This place is very famous for bathing as well as the beauty of the environment. It is the duty of all visitors to keep such places clean.

This is located in Embilipitiya ,Rathnapura district.About 2km far away from the town.The largest Water source for this area.A good place to rest and get a bathe.This is a tropical area as a result sunlight is so tight.But dry wind gives a cold feel

Water levels were dropped for more than 20ft to drought 🏜️ Very nice and ❤️ You might be able to see elephants if you're lucky 🐘😉(road is protected by electric fence)

If you are travelling via Sothern express way, its just 5 minutes drive from the nearest exit-Barawakumbuka. When the lake reaches the spill level, many people gather around to have quick dip. Ideal place to have your home cooked meals and to enjoy the breeze

Went there during less rain time so missed all the excitement of bathing from spill water. However nearby food huts were amazing. Had delicious fried lake fish with roti.

Chandrika Lake is a beautiful, calm & quiet place which is located very close to Embilipitiya Town on Nonagama-Embilipitiya Road. Specially very beautiful in the evening.

Calm place. I did not realized it before came there. It's amazing. One day me and wife's family dicided to go sankapala. Unexpectedly we decided to not to go to sankapala. But this amazing place. It's better tgan sankapala. At evening it's perfect. There is a temple near to the lake. We went at a poya day evening.

Nice place. Pick an isolated spot and avoid weekends😀 be aware: there are muddy/ deep places.

A very beautiful place. You can bathe and have fun safely. You can't have fun when the water in the lake is low.
