I recently had the privilege of visiting Hanthana Mountain in Sri Lanka, and I must say it was an incredible experience. The panoramic 360-degree view from the top of the mountain is nothing short of breathtaking. One of the most remarkable aspects of Hanthana Mountain is its popularity among university students. Interacting with fellow hikers and sharing the joy of conquering the mountain creates a sense of camaraderie. For nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers, Hanthana Mountain is an absolute must-visit destination. The trails leading up the mountain are well-maintained, ensuring a safe and enjoyable hike. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning views that rival those from the summit. Don't forget to bring your hiking shoes and a camera to capture the unforgettable moments. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Hanthana Mountain to anyone planning a trip to Sri Lanka. It provides the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of nature. The memories you'll make here will last a lifetime. However, it's important to note that the hike is not easy, especially for novice hikers. Make sure to come prepared with plenty of water and snacks. There are only two places to refill water bottles along the way, so it's crucial to plan accordingly. Additionally, if you're a novice hiker, bringing glucose or energy-boosting snacks is advisable to maintain your stamina throughout the hike. Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey, and be ready to create lasting memories amidst the stunning landscapes.

My adventure at Hanthana Mountain was undoubtedly a memorable one. The hike wasn't easy, but the breathtaking views and the chance to camp amidst nature's tranquility made the challenging journey worth every step. The mountain range, beautifully situated southwest of Kandy city and adjacent to the University of Peradeniya, comprises seven majestic peaks, the highest being "Ura Kanda," standing tall at an impressive 1,158 m (3,800 ft). The view from this summit was nothing short of awe-inspiring, presenting a panoramic spectacle of Kandy city, the Knuckles mountain range, the Sabaragamuwa hills, and the Dolosbage range of Aranayake. The hike can be a bit challenging for novice hikers, so I would recommend carrying glucose or some energy-boosting snacks with you. Bring water bottles, so be sure to plan accordingly. One of the unexpected delights was the opportunity for bird watching, making the trip even more captivating for nature enthusiasts. The mountain range was also a thrilling backdrop for camping, which added an element of excitement to the journey. It's worth noting that Hanthana Mountain Range was designated as an environmental protection area in 2010 due to its high biodiversity, and it's easy to see why. The area's rich natural beauty and diverse fauna are sure to leave you spellbound. In a nutshell, if you're seeking a mix of hiking and thrilling adventure, there's no better place than Hanthana. Despite its challenges, the rewarding vistas, unique bird-watching opportunities, and the chance to camp under the stars make it a must-visit destination for any nature lover. Remember to pack wisely, prepare for a not-so-easy hike, and brace yourself for an unforgettable experience!

Hanthana Mountain View Point offers its best experience from December to February, with light mist enhancing the scenic beauty. It's advisable to avoid the rainy months of September to December. The hike takes around 2 to 3 hours. Occasionally, a water provider may be present, but it's still recommended to bring your own water.

It was quite a marvelous experience. We took the 655 Bus ( Kandy - Uduwela via Hanthana) and got off at 4th Mile Post (හතරේ කණුව). Bought tickets (LKR 50) at the entrace located there, and started the hike. It was just one hour climb to the first peak and we went to the second and third peaks too. Spent time enjoying the view and around 3 pm started coming back. Reached 4th mile post at 4pm, then walked to Kandy Bust stand (Can take 655 bus to go to Kandy without walking). From Kandy took the Colombo bus and arrived. 😍

Hanthana Mountain hike a truly memorable experience. The journey through nature offered a stunning panorama from the cool summit. However, caution is advised due to the presence of leeches; ensure proper protection. Remember to carry essential medications and keep them handy during the hike. Optimize your backpack by avoiding unnecessary items for a smoother and more comfortable journey. To optimize the adventure, kick off the hike early in the morning, facilitating a smoother descent before darkness sets in.

Today we visited Hanthana mountain view point and it was incredible experience. We started at 1.45 p.m. from main entrance. We arrived top of the mountain at about 3.15 p.m. When you start your journey from main entrance you must buy a ticket. It cost Rs50. The road does not clear and comfortable. So you must ready before the hike. Bring some water and foods. (Also some medicines.) You can fill up your water bottles from top of the mountain. But you must pay Rs.20 for that.(Few men will be work there.) For an emergency contacts and some road signs also provided there. But you must safe.

Another beautiful and interesting hidden place in Sri Lanka. After traveling about 10KM from Kandy, you will reach Handana village. You can buy a 50 rupees ticket from the shop near the road to Sadagiri Maha Saya and walk for about 2KM on the road in front of the shop. After going up the mountain through a difficult road, the mind is satisfied because it offers good views. Telephone towers and television towers are also found here. No additional cash fee will be charged. Let's save our environment.🍃💯
