A very warm a homely experience at Floating Heaven houseboat. The owner family- Mashtaq and his father are extremely hospitable and polite and have been very helpful in guiding and organizing sight seeing and shopping. The staff also is very hospitable. I will highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful stay. Nigeen lake anyways is a quaint place and the staff of this houseboat makes it even better. There are a select few vendors only that come on the boat and they have one of the best and authentic Kashmiri stuff. Thanks a lot Mushtaq and your entire staff for making this a wonderful stay.

AVOID! Extremely rude owner and housekeeper. They made us sweat for 2 hours in peak afternoon heat (28* C) but did not start the generator to make fan operational. While leaving when we mentioned that their service level is not upto the mark for the price they are charging (2x of a normal hotel in Srinagar), they owner threw back our money on us! Then they threatened to not let us board the shikara to go to our cab unless we paid them off. The housekeeper also spoke very rudely throughout our stay. We booked this houseboat reading the good reviews that previous visitors had posted. However there are way better houseboats available in Dal lake for 1/3rd the price. Choose wisely!

This houseboat was perfect for us. It is in a quiet place and the hospitality of the manager was very good. This houseboat is not connected to the land but it is on an island. They have a nice shikara(boat) ride service that will bring guests in and out of the houseboat whenever requested. The food was very good quality and the cook and the caretaker were very caring to us. The transportation arrangement provided by the manager was very reliable and reasonably priced. We would recommend this houseboat for a nice and peaceful stay in Kashmir.

It is truly a heritage houseboat nestled in Nigeen lake which is very peaceful as compared to dal lake. The boat is extremely clean and adorns all sorts of vintage decorative.I was absolutely smitten by the lotuses I could see from my bedroom window. The vegetarian food was good and my friends were enjoying the non vegetarian meal as well. The host is a very polite and charming man who would take effort to spend time with you and provide suggestion for any queries.

Very rude staff, especially the old caretaker. Very bad experience. Much better options available in the same price range. Avoid this one.

Floating Heaven, the best house, exceeded all expectations for my family. The stunning architecture, luxurious amenities, and personalized service created an unforgettable experience. It was a tranquil and magical retreat that will forever be cherished.

The stay was very pleasant, food was good but connectivity to scenic/main location is very far. The stay is good for those who love very peaceful- pin drop silence kind of ambience 😊. Remember Nigeen lake is very far from main Srinagar location. Overall the stay was good took some best scenic photos in and around lake n did shikara shopping.

Boat experience was good overall. Pros. 1. Sunset view is Amazing. 2. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. 3. Owner,manager helpful. Cons. 1. Rooms are not sound proof. If other room person fart or flush. Sounds come in. 2. Slow wifi. 3. Meals are expensive comparatively. 4 In the end owner provided paid Cab to airport. Driver dropped in police check post and ran away and took our money. Could have missed the flight but Someone gave us lift.

It provides a wonderful scenic view with nigeen lake where u can have a great shikara ride , which provides extremely peaceful boat ride. Cool breeze enlivens one's soul and it is simply beyond description. Food is average but the service is excellent. Also the decor of the boat is fantastic 😊

Truly the best place to stay at Srinagar. Nigeen lake itself is very beautiful yet peaceful. The boat is beautifully maintained. The warmth and care provided by host Mustaq bhai and the caretaker Gulzar bhai had really made us feel at home. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Rooms were very well maintained. Homemade food was served and it was delicious, especially mutton Rogan josh. Transport to tourist spots was all arranged by them and they did take good care of us. Mushtaq bhai keep up the good work and will be happy to come again.

Not the “best” houseboat! Please do your research before booking any houseboat. This one is near nigeen lake which is dirty. Locals from there will claim that nigeen lake is prettier and clean than Dal lake. False claim! There is one caretaker who takes care of everything. He is friendly and very helpful. One thing which I felt was ‘being restricted to one place’. When you are inside the boat, it is the only thing where you can roam around. You will have to take shikara/boat to go anywhere and they charge you exorbitant price, no fixed price. People here keep asking for tip which is another thing I didn’t like. They just want to grab your money for every service. Price of the hotel is expensive and they will charge you for the water as well. Pathetic! One thing for me for sure - no houseboats for future stay. Hotels are way better, safe and convenient.

Absolutely beautiful Houseboat. We were a group of 4 families, 8 adults and 6 children. We were unable to secure 4 rooms for all online, upon contacting Mushtaq directly, he arranged it so that our whole group was accomodated in one single houseboat. He also helped us in arranging our transportation. We spent just one night on Floating Heaven, which felt insufficient. It was such a beautiful experience, We would definitely come again for a longer stay. The in-house staff too was very helpful and accomodating.

This place is highly recommended- 1. It is located on the Nigeen lake facing the beautiful mountain ranges 2. The rooms are lovely, cozy and clean 3. The food served is yumm 4. The person managing the house is courteous and helped us in every way he could.

I booked this houseboat of lot of survey online, tour agents were given the houseboats which were not very good then I booked myself directly contacting owner and I got in very good rate also. Surprisingly houseboat maintained very nicely. Very cleaned and arranged all things properly. Clean bathroom, room size very spacious. Double and single bed with sofa in room. Food quality was very tasty. Specially owners are very much caring and paying attention to customers. Very silent and beautiful location, don't go to stay in Dal lake. Dal lake is good for Shikara ride only to see floating market but Nigeen Lake specially Floating Heaven Houseboat is very much preferred, good for family. I liked too much and we enjoyed here.
