Wangoo Heritage Houseboats Please only visit if you are ok with these: 1. No proper electricity. 2. No water for even toilet flush 3. No hot water 4. No AC ( they have heating bag and smelly kerosine lamp to give you 1900 era feeling) 5. Dirty carpets ( never seen such dirt everywhere) 6. Dirt in every hidden places such as back of the bed. 7. Non cleaned towels and bedding ( saw them just hanging in sunlight without wash ) 8. Unhygienic things everywhere 9. Some oily breakfast 10. No door locks. Wangoo heritage houseboats are located at Nigeen Lake. The view from houseboats is good but lack very basic requirements. Please make a note it is not single boat these are multiple boats branded under the same name this is to causes very big confusion. The boat which has good reviews gets used for misrepresentation. The actual boats name is what matters. Fortunately I stayed in Wangoo heritage jwel of kashmir for only 1 night and the experience was very poor. These houseboats may have been good in the past based on the reviews on google, however if you sort it by latest most of them are either by Tavel agents for commissions or either bad for above reasons. The gate 1 is used to get shikara ride to reach houseboats once you reach one may need to remove your shoes , boots etc because boats floor is all covered with carpets which never gets cleaned. Once you enter the room door, the door does not have proper lock to ensure privacy and safety. I checked in at about 4 pm and there was no electricity and attending person told us lie it ll be back in about 6pm which never came. Unfortunately we believed and stayed there, same was told for water. Now the time was 9 pm they bring back electricity by generator with few lights on. The boat has no heating system and the fitted AC does not works because they do not have proper electricity connections. The generator only help them to glow some low voltage lights. They also started motors for some time to show the water is there once you believe them and says ok it stops again. I asked attending personal to be frank and tell me whats the condition he told us water will not come until morning. The attending person will be very sweet in talk to distract you. Then We had ok dinner and went to sleep without any proper heating equipment. They provided heating bag and kerosine lamp for heating which we returned happily. They also cut down on electricity when you are sleeping so they reduce use of generator. In the middle of the night I observed they cut down major lights and hence only keep some of the lights. They must have bifurcated the low voltage line and high voltage line to use generator. In the morning finally 1 bucket water we got for bath not to mention shower are for show and does not work on low pressure. We went to oily breakfast and come back to houseboats room. Suddenly about 10.30 am attending person come back and ask when you are leaving because they want us to go soon although the checkout time is 12 pm. We finally happy to left this place at 11:30 pm. Not even worth single rupee and I won’t stay here even if someone offers it for free such a waste of time.

amazing experience, hospitality is good, amazing view, rooms are good mainly washroom are very neat and clean, two transfers are free per day by shikara after that it’s INR 50 per transfers which is also not bad. Food is good, local food is also available plus you can ask them to cook a meal of your choice as well. Host is very good and corperative.

This houseboat is definitely recommended. Interiors is excellent and well maintained. Rooftop view during sunrise is very beautiful. Complementary boat ride was provided in the package. Staff are friendly and accommodative. Rooms are comfortable especially if you are going in groups and booking the entire boathouse. Overall very good experience.

worst experience ever we booked and payed for the houseboat but in the last minute we were shifted to another one which was cheaper than what we had payed for, they were not ready to cooperate and gave excuses for the situation, a very very bad experience overall

We recently visited Kashmir in July -2021 and stayed in Wangnoo worth boat, I would say this was the bestest stay in Kashmir to see the kashmir Heritage deeply. The boats were looks quite new and well in condition but when i talked to Owner and got to know about the story of these boats then it amazed me like anything. It was 60 year old boats but full of luxury and give the comfort of home. Owner were very nice. We had early flight and they themself dropped us to Airport @ 3 am and stay till 6 when the Airport open..

Really good Houseboat. Rooms are big and clean with an awesome washroom decked with bathtub. Food is good and tasty.. Very less disturbance from vendors in the lake. Good hospitality from the owner. Very peaceful and quiet ambience. Bit of issue with Wifi and warm water but rest everything is top notch. If you are fine enjoying houseboat in Nagin lake and not overly fascinated with the idea of staying in more popular and congested Dal Lake, do book your stay here. We took the Shikhara ride in Dal lake however preferred to stay in a less congested and quiet ambience in this houseboat

If i had to give minus 10 ratings i would love to. These people are fraudsters. Pre booked 2 months back and on day of check - in in the middle of lake the agent said there is no such bookings and all house boats has been burnt and forced us to stay in govt guest house. J & K tourism should take strict action against these scamsters.

never trust them never book this houseboat no commitment. No hot water, not provided breakfast in time so we have to leave without breakfast in the morning. Worst experience

There are many houseboats which fall under Wangnoo. The boat got we got assigned was peacock and it was very bad. The food was bad, the place had rats. I do not recommend this place at all.

Stayed for a night on 6august 2022. 3 bedroom in Pride of kashmir.hose boat. Horrible full of mosquito. Undity bed. Used towels Poor food menu. Torn curtains. No cleanliness in the house boat. Staff asking for tips. Horrible is the word. Which can be said. Never stay wuth them.

One houseboat three rooms with common dinning and drawing room. No privacy types. One staff only No amenities Food quality and varieties not good Food comes from outside Service quality is good by mouth but in actual not so good Rooms are with dim light only *Staff and onwer is polite and honest *Wash room is good *eacefull location i didn't seen other houseboat here, but stayed in Kerala one time , complete different, kerla houseboat was awesome and here was not satisficatory

Great view in the morning time. Big room with attached bathroom with the luxury looks. Hot water and heater is available. Dinner can be ordered and simple and tasty. Great service provided all the time.

We recently stayed in one of the houseboats of Wangnoo Sheraton on Nigeen lake, Srinagar. The houseboat is well maintained and very beautiful. The room allocated to us was of a good size and the entire boat was very beautifully decorated with intricate wooden carvings, furnishings and Kashmiri carpets. The food provided was homely and good. The 'Captain' of our houseboat, Bilal Bhai was an extremely courteous and helpful person. He was always around and available in case we needed anything. Yousuf Bhai, the boatman / rower took us for a calming and scenic ride on the lake and through the floating vegetation / bed lotus and lilies. We really enjoyed our stay here and would most definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking to enjoy a houseboat stay in Srinagar, as it's quiet and less crowded compared to Dal lake. We would like to thank Kashmir and Wangnoo Sheraton's staff & management team for making our stay comfortable and a memorable one.

What a great stay in Even Desert Camp .. Sadam ji and his team is amazing ..very good service by staff there..i must recommend people to visit Even Desert Camp if you want to live your peacfull days and if you want to enjoy cultural activites and want to eat good food and want a pleasent stay in swiss tent in sam dessert.. I want to give 10+ point extra to the services by the team there..genunily speaking i had visited sam atleast 4-5 times but never seen the services like Even Desert Camp staff ..Thank you Sadam bhai and Even camp team for every thing good ..this is my second time in your resort and whenever i will come to sam dessert i promise i will stay at your place only..thank you once again

We really enjoyed our stay here. We travelled there in September, it was less chaotic as compared to Dal lake. The rooms and toilets were superb, there is always hot water anytime. For breakfast we had toast with omelet which was delicious. The only main thing that we disliked was the amount of people coming and knocking on the houseboat to sell their stuffs eventhough we declined politely. Plus the wifi was not so stable and fast. Other than that, we enjoyed the Kashmiri tea they gave and hospitality by Mr. Wangnoo and Din. Would recommend to other people to come and stay here. The best part is the balcony faces the sunrise, which gave us a picturesque view
