Badamwari is a 300 acre almond bloom heaven. It is located on the foot hills of Koh-e-maraan. When you visit koh-i-maran, i will advise you to give a visit to this garden too. Well maintained, it is in its full glory in spring. It is usually opened in mid March and remains an awesome attraction before summer takes its kingdom. I visited it from Qamarwari side. If you are coming from North-west of the valley, you can cut the city completely. But within the city you have to be there from the main city roads. The parking is available fre of cost. The current ticket fees of Rs 24 is for adults. I don't have the information about the children. The garden ends on the banks of jhelum river but the flood plain is not part of the garden. I wish it was a part of the garden, it would have added to the glory of the garden. I feel the actual reason for keeping the river separate would have been the environment concerns. BUT THERE IS ALWAYS A PRECEDENT TO BE SET. RIGHT? Origin of the Almond Garden- The origin is scaffolded in history. They say it was there even before zainu-abidin. It existed before 14th century A.D. There is a dome for warris Shah in the garden. Koh-i-maran can be seen from the garden and also the darmath trust temple. A must visit in spring. Autumn, summer and winter also demand their share. Go,enjoy, share pictures and make life good.

This place is in its glory at spring, one must visit this beautiful almond blossom garden in the months of March and first two weeks of April. Many families flock in to spend their day under the almond and peach blossoms along with lunch/snacks. This is probably one of my favorite gardens in the city.

Badam Wari, a beautiful garden full of almond trees located under J&K Bank in Srinagar. The garden is definitely worth a visit, especially during the month of March when the almond trees are in full bloom. The prices are moderate and the admission fee is reasonable. One unique feature of the garden is the old well, which is said to be hundreds of years old and was used by kings to punish people by throwing them in. Although this is a rather gruesome piece of history, it adds to the overall charm and character of the garden. Overall, I had a great time at Badam Wari and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place to visit in Srinagar.

It is a very beautiful park to visit during your Kashmir trip. Although it's full beauti is in spring season when almonds flowers bloom but it is scenic in other times also. Park beautification is well maintained. It has lots of badam trees along with fountains, flowers, park area, sitting area etc. This park has historical existence (around 1400 CE).

The almond trees are in full bloom at the Badamwari in Srinagar, heralding the advent of spring in Kashmir. The garden, which is located at the foothills of Koh-e-Maran, has left the tourists spellbound with its multi-coloured almond blossoms. In March and April, the almond garden offers breathtaking views of beautiful almond blossoms and cascades of other flowers of Kashmir. For centuries, the Badamwari has been the first to reverberate with life with the onset of the spring season in J&K.The almond branches laden with purple and white flowers spread their faint fragrance. Apart from almonds, different varieties of flowers are present in the garden which present a scintillating view. The almond flowers bloom at the end of March, but this year due to the rise in temperature, the blossom is seen quite early. Besides attracting tourists and locals in good numbers, the blooming almond trees at the orchard provide the perfect backdrop for selfies. The garden, earlier named after Afghan ruler Waris Shah, was revived and formally thrown open to the public in 2008.

One of the best kept parks that I have seen in a long time. There is so much peace there. Great picnic spot. Tourists and locals should keep it clean and be proud of such an amazing heritage. Hats off to J K Bank for reviving this heritage.

Nicely maintained garden but nothing much to see, may be we went in wrong season. Only attraction was the photographers offering local dresses to click photos in! But the garden by itself is a lush green place, absolute pleasure to eyes and soul!

If you are a tree lover then this place is heaven for you. This place is very underrated. It's quite far from the city but this place is very quiet. Everyone can relax and enjoy a lazy time.

One of the best maintained parks (garden, lawn and walkways) I have ever seen. Beautiful and varied range of rose flowers, so vast stretch of green lawns and walk ways and nageen lake at the edge of the park are really refreshing and relaxing. There is an amphi theatre, numerous raised stone and concrete platforms and a few bandstand that add on to the beauty of the park. The wash rooms are not maintained properly which can be ignored if you don't really need to use it.

Badamvaer or Badamwari, located in the heart of Srinagar, Kashmir, is a charming and picturesque garden that is renowned for its beautiful almond blossoms. Badamwari is particularly famous for its stunning almond orchards, which come alive in spring with a riot of pink and white blossoms. The garden transforms into a floral paradise, captivating visitors with its ethereal beauty. Walking amidst the blooming almond trees is a serene and delightful experience, providing a feast for the eyes and a wonderful opportunity for nature photography. The garden is well-maintained, with paved walkways that wind through the almond groves. As you stroll along the paths, you'll be surrounded by the fragrant aroma of almond blossoms, creating a soothing and enchanting atmosphere. The sight of the blossoms against the backdrop of the majestic Himalayan mountains is truly a sight to behold. In addition to the almond trees, Badamwari also features a variety of other flowering plants and shrubs, adding to the overall charm of the garden. There are benches and seating areas where visitors can relax and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. It's a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll, a picnic, or simply to soak in the natural beauty of the place. The best time to visit Badamwari is during the spring season, usually from mid-March to early April when the almond trees are in full bloom. It's a time when the garden bursts with vibrant colors, creating a magical ambiance. However, even outside of the blooming season, Badamwari still retains its charm, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The garden is easily accessible, located in the heart of Srinagar, and can be reached by public or private transportation. There is no entry fee, making it a budget-friendly attraction for locals and tourists alike. Overall, Badamwari is a hidden gem in Srinagar, Kashmir. Its almond blossoms, serene atmosphere, and natural beauty make it a must-visit destination, especially during the spring season. Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Badamwari offers a delightful experience that will leave you with beautiful memories of your time in Kashmir. ***The toilets were a major concern when we visited. The outside is beautiful but when you go inside you won't be able to stand the foul smell***

The place had lots of tourist entry fees charged , greenary with lots of plantation and floral plants. Cleanliness was not maintained The tourist had littered garbage and it was not cleaned. A beautiful place, filled with almond trees. Must visit during the blossom of flowers. Only disadvantage is traffic jams on narrow roads. Plan in advance and not on weekends to enjoy it thoroughly

This park is a great place to spend some time. The kids loved it. The park has badam, peach, apple and other fruit trees. The peach and apple flowers look great with the flowers on them when we visited (March end) The place is visited by local Kashmiri's also, and there is not much nuisance of vendors there.

This park is and underrated place in Kashmir. Compared to other attractions in Srinagar this park is not that famous but one must visit this place. It is calm and quiet in there and it is a suitable place to relax. The park is filled with badam trees and that's why this park got this name 'badam wari'. You can see the badam from the month of July - September.

Very serene and a little offbeat (hence, less crowded) place to visit in Srinagar. There are many varieties of flora here which are very well maintained in a garden style. Of course, the main highlight is the almond trees. Good place to relax and take pics.

Badamwari gardens, located in the foothills of Hari Parbat fort also known as Koh-e-Maran in Srinagar city has cultural, traditional and heritage importance as popular religious places including Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib shrine and Gurdwara Chatti Padshahi are also in the same area. “During the spring season due to the multicoloured almond blossoms that are in peak bloom these days, people visit Badamwari. After a few days, the government is also going to organize festivals with different cultural and traditional activities aimed to promote the spring tourism season” said Imran, Assistant Floriculture Officer. Roza, a tourist from Bangladesh said, “This garden is not very crowded and the overall ambience of this garden is very peaceful. That’s why everyone including locals as well as tourists, are visiting Badamwari during the almond blossoms.” “Situated on foothills of Koh-e-Maran, spread over 300 canals, the garden serves as a source of attraction for tourists and nature lovers alike.
