We have been seeing Dr. Benoit and his team since our big guy was 9 weeks old and he's now 8 years old and we can't thank the team at Companion enough for all the years of love, care and extraordinary care. Not only are they a fear free clinic, I never feel rushed, I can ask a million questions, and I know they truly care about my dog. The pricing here is very reasonable (coming from a family who doesn't have pet insurance) and we never feel like we are a walking dollar sign. I recommend them to everyone who has a pet and is looking for a vet.

*If you have an animal that has fear based aggression/behaviour struggles* . My partner and I were fostering an abused cat, and he has fear-based aggression. After a year and no adoption applications, we decided to keep him. The vet we took to him prior wasn't our choice, and they wouldn't try to accommodate him and never offered sedation or medication to calm him down. Companion wanted to follow his lead, and even though the first time we went, we couldn't give him his vaccines, he didn't associate this place with being bad/scary. The second time, they gave us some meds, he was sedated, and they did a wellness check and his vaccines. It was almost entirely stress-free, and the staff there were amazing. It's out of our way, but I know our cat will be treated well and won't be forced to get things done.

Companion provides the most compassionate and caring end of life care possible. Dr. Amy was extremely helpful, honest, and compassionate when the previous vet we saw was not. My boxer dog died of cancer on July 3rd and they let me lay on the floor with him crying until I was ready to leave him. I was not rushed out and the whole process was discussed throughout it. Thankful for this clinic

Took my 8 week old puppy here for a first visit. It was during Covid so I was sitting in the car on the phone, meaning my puppy was in a new environment without me, obviously stressed. The vet said he had tried to bite the tech as she was holding him. She stopped the exam immediately and told me my puppy needed behavioural classes, and will need to be sedated with Trazodone and Gabapentin for every single future visit, until he completes the class. I went to another vet and they told me that was ridiculous and a money grab. My dog is now 3 years old, and is amazing at the vet! Zero meds and we didn’t even have to do the expensive behaviour classes. Felt like such a money grab, and they have lost my trust.

If I could rate above 5 stars I would. The entire staff is absolutely amazing. From the moment you are greeted, to the vet techs, trainers and vets, our furbabies and pawrents are well taken care of. Everything is explained in detail, follow-ups are done and they always take the time to make our pets feel comfortable. Thank you for taking excellent care of Luna ❤️

It was our first visit to Companion Veterinary Clinic as we just relocated to Edmonton. We were warmly welcomed by the front office staff and made to feel comfortable. This is a spacious and well laid out clinic. After a few minutes we were taken to a roomy exam room. Dr Amy spent a lot of time listening to my concerns. She provided solutions that addressed each concern. We agreed on some follow up and we were on our way. Thank you Dr Amy for everything. I would highly recommend this clinic for all your pets health needs.

I can’t express how amazing this clinic is, my dog is super afraid of other people and can be aggressive when being handled a certain way. The whole team was so amazing and empathetic towards my situation and I felt no judgment at all. It’s a 40 minute drive for me but it’s definitely worth the trip! The kindest staff I’ve ever encountered, they go above and beyond with the pets and truly care about the well-being of them, while also ensuring a positive and safe environment for the pets and the owners! I cant express my gratitude enough, thanks so much to companion vet clinic!

Dr Kevin Benoit has cared for 5 of my pets, 2 now gone & my current 3: 10-year-old fearful hoarding situation rescue dog Zac, formerly *feral* 4-year-old rescue cat Clementine, & 11-year-old rescue cat Toast (who has IBD & CKD). That every single staff at Companion is Fear Free certified was my initial reason for coming to the practice, but the quality of care - from check-ups to behaviour meds to outstanding nutritional information to dental cleanings & extractions to end-of-life - beyond that has been unmatched in my lifetime of sharing my home with pets. I love Companion!

Companion Veterinary is exceptional. The level of care is like no other - great empathetic front end staff with an outstanding medical team, I never feel rushed and I always leave with full knowledge of my pets condition and next steps, if that be necessary. You know you and your pet are in good hands when you enter this location

They take great care of my cats and they really are fear free! Just updating this because I’ve been having more contact with Dr. Benoit and team lately as I have a cat with some health issues. I wish I could give 10 ⭐️ . I truly appreciate Dr. Benoit’s willingness to talk through the issues and treatment options. I also appreciate their fear free approach so much. My poor kitty has become quite scared of the vet since needing to be admitted to another facility a few times now (they’re good too, just scary for a cat!). My cat is still able to settle down and be examined by Dr. Benoit. I don’t feel rushed when I’m there either and they’re accommodating when it comes to medication refills and such. Really feel fortunate to have found them!

Both of our doggies, including our reactive pup, LOVE Dr L and Dr Amy. Attached is video evidence. (We also love how they explain everything extensively, show compassion and patience, and answer all our questions).

My dog Harley is 10 months old and she has a fear of anyone trimming her nails. Samantha made Harley feel at ease by playing with her on the floor when she arrived and fed her treats which she LOVED. Her techniques to distract Harley as she sedated her so her nails can be trimmed were very effective. She even brought Harley a blanket to lay on in the examination room. Due to COVID I was not allowed into the clinic until now and I was very impressed with the care and love shown towards Harley. Samantha took the time to explain what she was doing and answered my questions about what to expect when Harley goes into heat and the process of surgery to get her spayed. She made me feel at ease and I would highly recommend Compassion Vet to anyone who wants excellent care for their animals. Thanks Samantha!

We went to the clinic based on a friend's recommendation so that we could get a second opinion. Every single staff member, including the doctor, nurses etc. that we met there were amazing. The doctor took her time and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed, which I'm not used to as typically our appointments at other clinics were a quick in and out. I also appreciated that the veterinarian did not push for pricy tests and scans and was very upfront as to which tests would be valuable and cost effective for our specific situation. The clinic is a long drive for us, but I will be moving all of my pets' files over to them because they were so great to deal with.

Amazing service. I did not have a local veterinarian and felt extremely comfortable immediately when calling to enquire if there was an emergency appointment available. The young lady who answered my call was kind and so very helpful. All of the office staff and Dr Amy showed such kindness, caring and compassion. I went in thinking I would have to put Hollywood down - Dr Amy kept assuring me she didn’t think it was time. Holly is now making a recovery. I am so thankful and highly recommend this clinic.

Companion was excellent with my nervous puppy. My puppy is quite shy and unsure of new surroundings. At first she didn’t want to come through the door into the clinic. The staff at Companion knew exactly how to make her feel comfortable. They were so kind and patient with her, by the end of the visit she was having so much fun. I am so grateful to them. This was my pups first visit to the vet since I got her and they made the experience so fun and comfortable for her I do not think she will be scared to go back. All the staff and the veterinarian were very knowledgeable and helpful. We will definitely be going back for shots and check ups in the future.
