This little haunt "backs into" the Brewery District. It's a quirky place with inside dining, the most incredible baking/pastries, and numerous vintage home furnishing pieces. The vibe here is incredible. They have great lunch items. But this is typically our go to for a coffee and pastry. They also do great pieces like cakes for special occasions. I'd love to keep this a secret but also don't want it to not be sustainable. Alas...here's my five star review. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The care and detail this business takes to ensure that customers feel welcome is noticeable from the moment you walk in. You can tell they are trying to create a warm space and I cannot wait for them to re-open for dine in! The staff allow you to browse, but ask if you're ready to order or have any questions. The food itself is devine! The egg salad is by far my favourite! For desserts the cheesecake is absolutely next level but even the cupcakes are simply perfect. The selection of ready made cakes is always something else entirely and it's so nice to know you can find something beautiful last minute. One of my families favourite places to grab goodies to go from!

The Art of Cake 🍰 know s the art of taste, the art of great coffee ☕️, the art of excellent service and the art of a great experience. The cafe/bakery has a wonderful ambiance to sit in and enjoy your food and drink selections. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and came on an evening when there was live music. We stayed inside but there is a really nice patio outside to enjoy in the warm weather. The washroom facilities are clean as is the rest of the cafe. The cakes 🍰, cupcakes 🧁, pies 🥧 are awesome. My wife enjoyed the pumpkin pie and I had the chocolate chip banana bread with brown sugar icing and both were great. We enjoyed the French press coffee. There is also food menu items available. We have been here before and will return again. We definitely recommend coming here for great pastries and great drinks.

This was amazing in all respects! We ordered the chocolate and raspberry cake online for delivery and it wasn’t completely straightforward because I was in England at the time - but the Art of Cake were so helpful and responsive making it really easy to do. Most importantly, the cake was stunning and absolutely delicious. Really fresh and moist. Everyone loved it and I would thoroughly recommend them. Did I say it was delicious?!!

Absolutely delightful place to gather with friends and we did just that for my friends birthday. The seating area was eclectic and full of charm. We loved the display case full of delicious baking!! We all ordered different pastries to eat and to take home as we wanted to taste it all! The cinnamon buns were huge but soft and full of yummy goodness! The scones that came with an herb tea, jam and whipped cream was delectable, so moist and delicious! We will definitely go back on a night that offers live music and try out the other foods offered.

Excellent service and high quality product. I went with my daughter to pick out her birthday cake and she was very indecisive. The staff were very patient and helped explain all the options. Coffee was excellent as well. The decor was very nice and would have been nice to sit (no seating due to covid). We will definitely be back.

They make great looking and good tasting cakes. The purple cake in the picture was made for my daughter's 18th birthday for her debutante party. Our baker did an excellent work. They work with us very hard with what my daughter would like the cake to look and it turned out amazing. I would totally recommend this place. Also great to go and hang out and chill and eat cake.

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday ahead of time. Everything went well, in terms of pickup time and decorations. I also bought some cup cakes. Everything was delicious.

The decadence... The blueberry muffins, raspberry scone, pumpkin caramel muffin, lemon tart were scrumptious 🤤🤭 However, the Raspberry and Oreo cheesecakes were not what I expected☹️... nothing like the cheesecakes I'm accustomed to which are made with more cream cheese. These were on the lighter and maybe healthier side? BUT they still tasted decent though. Preferences aside, I'd recommend them! Will be back for more of the scones and muffins plus that bread pudding I had my eye on😅

So unique! I had a London Fog and the bread pudding and both were so delicious! There was also some wonderful live music happening in the evening. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I ordered online and was impressed by how professional and easy the process was. The cake was a piece of art and tasted amazing. From the email to the staff in the bakery everyone was so friendly and pleasant. This is a great local bakery that I would recommend to anyone

This place has such an incredible atmosphere. Love, love, love the decor, the feel, and ofcourse the pastries were delicious! Selection was diverse and prices were good. Only giving 4 stars because clearly the girl behind the counter was having an off morning was a little curt with multiple customers, unfriendly and not very pleasant. Work on that and 5 star all the way!

We had our wedding cake done by the ART OF CAKE and it was AMAZING. The cake was delivered on time and safely. It was gorgeous - exactly as expected. It cut beautifully, and was moist and flavourful. We were so impressed - everyone said it was the best caked they'd ever eaten. Spectacular!

The Art of Cake made an absolutely beautiful wedding cake for our big day. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the process and captured our ideas perfectly. We will recommend this bakery to anyone looking for delicious and beautiful baked goods. Our guests loved the lemon raspberry flavour we selected, and we couldn't agree more!

What can I say except - WOW! I took my friend here today for High Tea to celebrate her birthday. It was pretty and MOST of all, it was so delicious! My goodness, we enjoyed every single sandwich, scone, quiche and the desserts were so yummy. I can't wait to go for lunch and have the regular sized sandwiches. It truly was a special treat and the 2 hour time period is perfect. No rushing at all. Our server was so sweet too. We will definitely go back.

I recently got to visit The art of Cake with friends and they need to change the menu because it doesn't do justice to how decedent and delicious everything is. The staff were so friendly and fun and made the whole experience perfection along with the beautiful decor. My only complaint is that they are not based in Calgary so I can not visit as often.

Coral was a great server and the food was delicious and fresh. The cream of earl grey tea fragrant and wonderful. Such a lovely treat

My friend and I had brunch last weekend and we had a good time. The pastries were amazing, we shared a teapot but I forgot to take a picture of it. I would definitely recommend this place.

Art of cake has been our go to place for makes and pastries They never have disappointed in delivery and quality of the fares. We bought Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. The red velvet bread was up to the mark but the cream cheese icing was way too thick and was too rich for our taste. It tastes like biting into a chunk of butter. The cake looked amazing and was decorated very nicely. It would have been an amazing cake if cream cheese icing was little thinner.

I ordered a Funfetti cake for my boyfriend's 30th bday. I got it delivered to my home as well. Service was great and the cake was cool (good temperature) upon delivery and in great condition. The flavor was good as well! Will be ordering again!

We just ordered the High Tea takeaway for my niece’s baby shower. Everything was amazing…the sandwiches were all delicious and the desserts were beautiful. The scones, cream and preserves were out of this world. It was a good value for the price, and I would definitely recommend this for any catering needs or a special occasion. And in the future I will always cut the crusts off of my sandwiches!

Had the loveliest Afternoon Tea! Picture vintage china, cute Christmas decorations – total nostalgia vibes. They served Crème De Earl Grey Tea and an assortment of sweet and savoury pastries and finger sandwiches that hit the spot. Plus, the service was fast and super attentive, making the experience even better. While it would be nice to have other tea options, this cozy spot is a must-try for a delicious and laid-back tea time. Just a heads up, they don't accommodate food allergies or substitution requests. Still, highly recommend for a delightful afternoon, perfect for celebrating or hanging out with your girlfriends!

I did online pre-order a birthday cake for my good friend who stay in Edmonton. I searched on IG and found out The Art of Cake. They are lovely, attentive and responsive to my additional note. My friend who is the birthday girl loves the cake so much! She said the taste is great and not over sweet. Thanks for delivery on time and the high quality cake. Impressive Cake decoration with nice flavour . The sweetness is perfect. Multi-layers with soft bite. We are new to Edmonton and were looking for Perfect cake for our Anniversary. Walked-in and they had few cakes available to go. Customer service was top-notch. Wonderful experience.

Saved the day! So grateful! After an unfortunate accident with a wedding cake(mistakenly not ordered from art of cake) i was trying to find a solution for wedding that was starting in a couple hours. Called art of cake…. And amazing they were able to provide us with a rental decorative cake! So amazing and professional! Will never risk going anywhere but back to them! What an amazing team!

I was introduced to this hidden treasure but some work friends last week. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant & the food is fantastic. I had a pulled-beef melt with potato salad and though messy, it was packed with flavour! Their pressed coffee is to die for! I’ll be back for sure!

We are so happy that we went with The Art of Cake for our wedding. They were easy to communicate with, affordable, and did an amazing job on our cake! We worked with Christine right from the very start to customize a wedding cake - we picked a two-layer cake with vanilla and chocolate cake - and vanilla buttercream. It was AMAZING! We would 100% recommend going with The Art of Cake for your wedding or event!
