Awesome venue, great sound, and even better performance. I have not been to the Winspear Centre since grade school, but being a huge movie fan, I wanted to visit the John Williams show. 100% worth it! It was an experience I never had before, but I was blown away by how live orchestra music can suck you in. Conductor was light-hearted and fun, though an awkward moment happened with the audience & the announcement of a violin solo of Schindler's List. Nonetheless, I suggest anyone who has been curious about checking out the Winspear Centre to do it! You don't have to dress up in a fancy suit or tuxedo if you do not want to. I suggest business casual. Must see spot!

BUYERS BE AWARE. WINSPEAR has lost its classy touch. 2022 May EDIT This place went from 5 stars to 3 because of the damn popcorn! I get it the winspear took a big hit because of covid and they gotta get some of that money back. But constant popcorn chatter is so annoying. Especially during the quiet scenes and you cant even concentrate on the beautiful music. I could see for a comedy show or something that popcorn could be okay but when we pay a lot of money to LISTEN to John Williams. I would expect no popcorn at an event like this would be a no brainer for the lead organizers. OLD REVIEW AMAZING! Wow! If you haven't already, you HAVE to listen to John William's Beautiful music from the star wars show! Absolutely fantastic venue! I've sat in four different spots over the years, both low, high and to the side. And Every spot is awesome! It all comes down to what your personal preference.

This place is world class! Literally! It was designed and built to have optimal acoustics and was ranked as the best facility on the globe. I've enjoyed several concerts and symphony productions... and each was amazing!

It has been my privilege to perform here over the years as a substitute percussionist with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Canadian Artillery Band, and with a few other great organisations. The production staff are extremely helpful with respect to supporting me given the unique and cumbersome logistical needs percussionists tend to have. Thank you so much for all the support and for the beautiful venue! Here are some photos from over the years - such great memories - particularly Tommy Banks' memorial service! :-)

The venue was fantastic, I honestly don't think there's a bad seat in the place. The concert was phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone. Drinks were a little pricey but no more than expected for such a venue. I do recommend being early though as they don't have their own parking.

My Favourite place in all of Edmonton ! Very comfortable atmosphere and just amazing acoustics. Worth every penny. Can’t Recommend this place enough. They have a few bars to get drinks from along with a coffee shop and sometimes a popcorn stand depending on the event. The staff are just fantastic ! Very helpful and polite. Any event here surely won’t disappoint. I Always leave here with a good feeling .

What a fabulous venue ❀️ absolutely love this place and the performances. What a great jewel in Edmonton πŸ₯° We caught the last performance before the summer break and it was special. A one of a kind performance. It was so nice to meet each member of the symphony. Right from the person's very first performance to the person's 62 years performing with the symphony πŸ₯° What a wheelbarrow full of talent lead by an amazing conductor who has a great sense of humor. A great night that show cased great talent a standing O

This was an evening well spent. The music concert featured the works of 7 living composers and the highlight for me was the performance of Exquisite Fires, and Restless Oceans; it was the perfect climax to an already electrifying evening. I loved the ambience and how our very own Edmonton Poet Laureate, Titilope Sonuga illuminated our hearts with her powerful words.

Beautiful place to attend concerts, I personally attended the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra last month and it was simply a great experience. The building is basically an open space entrance when you walk in, they have to let scanners (at least at my event) stationed around the entrance. There are bars stationed around the entrance and we were allowed to bring our drinks into the auditorium. It is very beautiful, open and bright inside. The sound is amazing and you can hear everything perfectly. We sat in the orchestra centre area and we were basically centre of the place and it was perfect! Definitely recommend to attend a show here if you get the chance!

It's a wonderful place in Edmonton to hear amazing sounds! At the Winspear Centre, you may see and hear musicals, as well as other forms of entertainment. Seats on the balcony are highly recommended. The sound and visual effects are fantastic.

The intimate size of the auditorium makes performances feel quite close. The acoustics are well balanced and the refreshment stands are a nice touch. An excellent musical destination.

Been here a few times, but not since 2016? Staff are wonderful and helpful. Not a bad site line in the place. Acoustics are of course excellent. Saw the Star Wars music tonight. It was a Sold Out show, so they were ecstatic. Good show, lots of Cosplay and general Nerdtastic all around.

Loved this experience. First time for the ESO, but what an amazing experience it was. The acoustics are truly remarkable and a fantastic piece of engineering. Will definitely go back .

The boy and I went to see John Williams greatest hits and it was sooooo good. We are so spoiled in Edmonton to have such a talented group of musicians here.

Just wow! So many people playing and singing in perfect harmony! It was everything I hoped it would be and more! You don't have to dress formal to attend, but go all out anyway, it adds to the experience!

Went to see ESO perform Hans Zimmer and it was amazing! I was really pulled into the performance and felt like the pacing was great. The conductor even offered some fun facts between sets, which split the night up perfectly. Performance started a bit late, but I anticipate that was to allow everyone to get to their seats as there was quite a backlog at the entrance. Overall, very happy and will definitely look at attending another event!

The Winspear is an excellent venue whether it's the Symphony or a concert. It always sounds great and everyone I interact with always seems very pleasant and helpful. Also always affordable. $25 for a great live music experience. Can't be beat.

Watched the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra perform β€œHollywood Hits” absolutely stunning acoustics. Fantastic performance, especially the rendition of Skyfall featuring Celeigh Cardinal. Aiming to go again for the upcoming Ennio Morricone performance

A nice night out with the Symphony's pairing series. A glass of wine and two great pieces of music. And post concert you could try out one of the bow and string instruments that the very patient staff encouraged you to play.

Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is such a wonderful night out. Loved Hollywood for the holidays. Lucas did an amazing job and the special guest was such a lovely surprise. Loved Loved...and loved the second half!

Sound was good but too much continual smoke or dry ice during the show along with the stage lighting was poor. Reds blues and greens. Never did see the artist or her band in full white light (faces or expressions) through out the show. Serena Ryder December show. Was disappointing because of that.
