Wonton Hut basically does one thing and well. Here, wontons are large and plump with only a hint of pork to bind the pieces shrimp together in that perfect light snap. They rest in a soup that is clean and bright that doesn’t distract from the main game. There is one option to customize your bowl: thin or round noodles. I recommend the classic thin. Currently serving up a very short 6-item menu, including their solid bottled HK Milk Tea and lemon tea. The side of fried wonton is a great supplemental share for the table and gives some textural contrast. I’ve been to their Markham location before and am so glad that they’ve opened up downtown! Very solid bowls of quality wonton that keeps me returning.

I’ve never left a review on google before but I was so pleased by my experience at Wonton Hut that I wanted to leave a review. My fiancée and I had never heard of this place until we walked by and read the articles they had posted on their window about their founder and chef. We were intrigued and decided to give it a try. Wonton Hut has a short, confident menu and everything on it is done very well. We were impressed by the staff’s hospitality and kindness. When we took some of our leftover soup to-go, they separated the noodles from the broth so that they wouldn’t get soggy. We ordered the Laksa, Wonton noodles, the fried wonton appetizer, and lemon tea. My fiancé’s family is from Hong Kong and all the flavors felt familiar to him but the quality ingredients and attention to detail added something extra special to each dish. It was a wonderful spontaneous dinner out that exceeded our expectations.

Sleek and unpretentious spot for noodles. The braised beef noodles and the fried shrimp wonton were especially great. Small space however, would only recommend for groups of 2-4.

Been to this downtown location at least five times now! Every time I order the fishball laksa and a cold cup of HK milk tea. It is honestly the best food combo you could get in terms of Chinese food in downtown. It’s very addictive! The milk tea is filtered with silk leggings, this is legit how they make milk tea in Asia. I was very happy and could taste the difference instantly. The fishballs were gigantic and there were generous amount of noodles. Definitely worth the price they’re charging at $16. The waitress SaSa is always there and she’s super friendly, all smiles and always come around to refill our glasses with water or tea. It’s a bit of a hidden gem as it’s by Queen/Bathurst. Not the most well-known location for Asian cuisine and also not the best area as you get a lot of homeless people yelling and walking around. Credit cards accepted here. Also forgot to mention, they have this Vietnamese hot sauce (not sriracha) that’s the absolute bomb!!! You must try it here.

Best wonton noodle soup downtown! Have been multiple times since they opened this spot. Great service, great price, amazing food! Get the fried wonton appetizer 🤤

Delicious wonton soup with fresh ingredients. They also had a tasty homemade chili oil. On the spicier side of the spectrum, I really enjoyed it. They sell it in take-home jars, so I took one home too. The egg roll was delicious. I'm looking forward to my next visit. 10/10 would recommend.

Updated review: the owner reached out and we communicated over email after my original review below. I have visited a few times since and the food is delicious, reminds me of growing up in HK. We live within walking distance from Wonton Hut Queen St and supported a few times during Covid. We enjoyed the food and was looking forward to visiting many more times (being from HK, having a noodle / cha chaan tang restaurant in Queen West is exciting!). However, today I was grocery shopping with my 4 year old daughter across the street when she needed to go to the washroom with minimal warning (if you are a parent, I’m sure you can relate!). We run across the street to Wonton Hut. This was 2pm on a Saturday, no customers in the restaurant. We walk in and asked if my daughter could use the washroom quickly, and the man at the door immediately responded ‘customers only’. I didn’t have time to explain that we have been customers many times before (she had to go!), so we ran next door to Nord Lyon and they were nice enough to let her use the washroom. Food quality is important, but experiences matter, and Wonton Hut has lost a customer for life. I understand there are rules, but a bit of empathy can go a long way. Who doesn’t let a 4 year old use the washroom?

I came here multiple time. Try their wontons, dumplings, Fired Calamari, Bun Bo, Bun Rieu and Laksa. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Their staff are super nice. Place are clean and tidy. I think we need to keep supporting this small business in Queen West. Especially this place serving great food here! Hopefully this community can share more love and care to all the shops around here🫶🏽

Great place, great service and lovely food...the wontons are huge, a bit smaller than a baseball, perfect amount of shrimp and pork, the presentation is paramount! So come on down grab a table by the window and enjoy Wonton Hut.

Wonton Hut is 1 of my favourite wonton noodle restos in Toronto and it has a 2nd location located at Queen Street West, Downtown Toronto. The best part about this 2nd Queen Street location is that, they offer some food items that are not offered at its Unionville HQ location. It's nice to see the owner/chef want to inject creativity and culinary freedom to prepare some new dishes for the downtown crowd. I luv the exclusivity. For example, the "Bun No Tuan Spicy" is inspired by the classic Bun Bo Hue and only available at the Queen Street location. Made with house-made Cantonese styled meatball, marinated sliced beef, shrimp paste, lemon grass, shallots, garlic, fish sauce, chilli, soy sauce and scallions. The sliced beef were in big portion, meatballs were bouncy and fresh and it's such a big bowl of noods, it works perfectly pairing with an ice cold beer (they serve a variety of Asian beer). The place is modern, clean, simple yet has some of the cool Chinese nostalgic decors and artwork that works well with the space. If you are in Downtown Toronto, come check out Wonton Hut Queen. I am now super happy that I can get my noodles fix at the Queen location when I am in Downtown. And I can also go to its HQ at Unionville location if I am nearby up north. Highly recommend this place.

Wonton hut was an absolutely amazing experience! The wonton soup was so flavourful and complex and the wontons themselves were so tasty! The spicy noodle soup was also great, it was so spicy and the meat so tender! The staff was also so welcoming and incredibly hospitable, will definitely be coming back!!

Nice find. Small place but the food and service is awesome! Wonton noodles still have a bite to them, not soggy. The brisket was super tender. Literally fell into pieces. Broth is delicious. The fried wontons were straight out of the fryer. Hot, crispy and packed full of shrimp. Almost couldn't finish them. Excited to try the curry fish balls next time. Thank you for the great experience!

Ordered the laksa and brisket soup. The laksa was amazing: hearty with the perfect hint of nuttiness and spice. The brisket soup was seasoned great-not too salty which I find a lot of these places tend to do. Service was quick and the atmosphere inside was nice. Would love to go back.

Came here for lunch with a group of friends, and the lady server was extremely nice and welcoming. We ordered shrimp and pork wonton soup, cuttlefish laksa, and bun bo tuan. All 3 soups were really well done, the cuttlefish laksa had an amazing flavour and the noodles had a great texture. It is a little bit pricier than one might expect from an HK style restaurant, but the food makes it worth it

As someone who grew up in Hong Kong and had a lot of shrimp wonton and soup, I can easily say this is one of the best bowls of shrimp wonton soup I've ever had. The wontons are large, generous in shrimp. The broth is excellent - light broth with shrimp or (shrimp shell) stock. The hint of chives and green onions pair with the noodles and wontons perfectly. I also added on cuttlefish balls and those were excellent - freshly made with a mix of diced cuttlefish that gave it a chewy and soft texture. My only constructive feedback would be to expand the Ritual menu more - add on a full side of green veggies at the very least. I recommend getting the round noodles with your wonton the first time around because the flavor is more mild and you can really taste the quality of the soup. Also, give an option to request more of the chilli oil. That stuff is bomb and I would pay for a little more. Overall, another tiny gem in Toronto that adds to the rich diversity of the city. So thrilled this represents some of the best, authentic Hong Kong food outside of Hong Kong.

Located in the middle of the busy Queen St West near Trinity Bellwoods is the humble Wonton Hut. Simple menu, clean and quick service is what you can expect. Of course the Wonton Noodle Soup is worth the $. Get the combo for $16.95. I got Milk Tea which is perfect to kill the heat from the chili oil I put in my Wonton Noodle Soup. WARNING: the chili oil is super spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️ The wonton is perfect and the noodles are bouncy!! 💯💯💯

Came here alone right before it picked up and I’m so glad I did 🤭 It’s actually perfect everything. Perfect portion size, perfect taste, perfect texture, perfect satisfaction. You get the option of thin or thick noodles with your dish, and I chose thin! It immediately warmed me up from the Canadian cold and had me forcing myself to not gobble everything up at once 😭 (Almost burnt my self from this LMAO) That’s why I don’t have any photos of the dumplings inside- which I wish I did because they use pretty big chunks of shrimp. Perfectly cooked and manageable to eat. You can also customize the spice level with items on the table. There’s actually quite a variety of noodles as well as appetizers you can get. The prices average, it’s not super expensive, but it’s not super cheap either. That’s why I didn’t get an appetizer, but if I were splitting with somebody else, I’d definitely try one out. The service was quick and speedy, as well as nice. It reflected the atmosphere, which was modern, neat, and vibrant. I absolutely will be back here, I’d love to try out all the noodles. Thank you for having me! :D

Normally Queen St wouldn’t be my first choice for Chinese food but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty & authentic this place is! The shrimp & pork wonton noodle soup is one of the best I’ve had downtown - wontons are loaded with shrimp and broth is soothing and flavourful. Will be back soon to try some other items on the menu.

I had the Brisket Noodle soup with thick noodles. I love the portion. I actually couldn't even finish my bowl! They are very generous with the radish. They have a promotion where your non-alc beverages are half off with a purchase of any of their noodle soups. When I go back, I am going to try their famous wontons and also their HK Milk Tea (which wasn't available right at 5pm). I want to see this restaurant thrive. I think it would make sense as a lunch spot too, but they are only open in the evening.

The wontons tasted exceptional and stuffed proportionally while the broth was on point. As for the noodles I got the thin instead of the round and it was bouncy which I enjoyed. The curry fish balls was okay but prefer the sauce to be a bit more thick.

Randomly walked into this place and got a Shrimp & Pork Wonton Noodle soup, it was delicious! The broth was rich and seafood-flavoured, and the wontons were stuffed with a generous amount of filling, very well-seasoned. The portion size is good enough for one serving. I definitely will be back again to try the other dishes!

Cute, relaxed spot, with some of the best soups and wontons I've ever had. Fantastic broth, housemade chilli oil, and I cannot even express how tasty the cuttlefish balls were!! I will be back very soon!

Impressive quality of food and services. Must order Wontons (jumbo size of 4 shrimps of each!!!) and Laksa Cuttlefish Ball Yellow Noodles Soup which you can taste savoury and rich curry. So traditional flavour of Hong Kong Flavour. We definitely come back next dine in !!!😋😋

Stopped by for a late lunch and the staff were so sweet. Everything was so quick (the soup came out under 5 minutes after ordering) and the namesake wontons were some of the best I've had. No skimping on the fillings, the dumplings were fresh and had chunks of shrimp! The broth was also a lovely light and clear compliment to it. Also the iced lemon tea was the perfect side. Will definitely be back to try more!

Wonton Hut creates such a peaceful environment with exceptional service. I ordered the Noodles with 4 wontons, classic Hong Kong dish. For a price of $14 you get a bundle of noodles with 4 very large wontons and a nice hearty broth. The customer service was impeccable. The lady there offered to refill my tea multiple times which was truly needed. They also had many side snacks like fish balls and rice rolls which I need to try them next time. Highly recommended place to try out.
