A hidden gem in Ontario. It locates at Grimsby Beach, which is just one hour driving from Toronto, and just at the middle of Hamilton and Niagara Falls. It will be the best choice if you are bored to Niagara-on-lake. They have been here since 1800s, which used to be the living places for missionaries. I also hope this gem be found as some real estate developers wanna build condo here. Let’s protect the culture treasures we own.

I expected more beach or at least sandy beach not so much rocks. This beach is hidden and you have to park on the road along the houses. There was a sign posted close to the beach that there was poison ivy and ticks in the area to stick to the path. I did really enjoy visiting the surrounding area and see the cool painted houses

Hidden, local spot with outstanding views, rocky beach with secluded, tucked away beach spots. Not child friendly, water drops off deeply with minimal shallow shoreline & extremely limited parking (3 cars at park) & roadside parking. Check out the history of the cottages which started out as a Methodist Church Camp in 1859.

This is a local little beach and it is pretty rocky but the water is nice. I always check the website to make sure it is safe to swim there

Small Beach but not so popular hence the crowd is less. If you want a peaceful beach this is the place to go.

A very nice walk, with beautifully designed cottages. The beach itself has a small area and there is some constructions

The presence of colorful old houses makes this place very unusual, welcoming. We enjoyed walking along the paths.

A must see to believe! Such an unusual and unique place to visit. Stepping into the area & seeing those colourful houses is like stepping into another world!!! So much fun to see so many charming and whimsical designs … on houses. Best part, these houses are live in with real people! Also love is the fact that the area is non commercial.

Nice. It's quiet, maybe because of pandemic. Several houses have lights on. There's a small parking lot beside community park.

It’s a beautiful area but it is so hard to find place for parking :-) So nice to walk around the streets and enjoy the colorful houses.

Enjoyed walking and looking at the frozen waves, and was happy to see new signs being put up informing people of the dangers of walking on the ice there.

The Painted Ladies of Grimsby. Take a walk through this neighborhood. They are quaint and some are humorous. The colors never cease to amaze me.

The beach cottages are so colorful and so unique. Enjoyed front door concert with great cause to support Urban Wild Animals.

Vibrant colored houses that are nicely decorated in a quiet neighborhood.

The community around it is quite whimsical, with colorfully painted houses among tall mature trees. The beach is quite small and rocky, great for the locals. There are only 3 parking spots, so finding a place to park will be difficult. There are a number of nice benches overlooking the lake but no other amenities.

Nice little beach to soak the sunshine. Unfortunately nothing much around- not even a cafe.

A unique place in the neighborhood of Grimsby. A must see if you come to this area for the colorful and artistic display of talents in these houses. Get a moment of Alice in Wonderland feeling.
