I recently dined at the Royal Indian Cuisine and was thoroughly impressed by the really tasty cuisine. The menu showcased a variety of vegetarian dishes and meat dishes. Our meal had delicious flavors and lovely presentation. I can’t recommend Royal Indian Cuisine enough for a fantastic dining. We will be back for more.

Opted for a takeaway here last night and was overall disappointed Firstly the person who took the order was not totally up to speed with the menu and I ended up paying and getting two items l had not ordered and did not want. Secondly, my chicken main contained 4 pieces of chicken (3 pieces actually contained more bone than chicken), so l actually ended up with just a little more than one piece of chicken!!!! Thirdly, whilst the starters were tasty, they were, l feel, overpriced for what we got and in fact the prices on the whole were well above the quality of the dishes received.

Five of us hit the roads from Dublin to explore Indian cuisine in Drogheda. We ordered for Karahi Vegetable (claimed as a thick curry preparation - deceptive description), Molee Chicken (a south indian style curry chicken - prepared in haste and didn't taste as one could imagine after reading description) , Tarka Daal (I didn't eat it so can't rate it), Vegetarian Platter (this is sole portion that earns this review 1 star), Garlic Naan Bread (just imagine you are eating a pizza base without pizza sauce and toppings with a slight tap of garlic oil - in a nutshell a disgrace for naan breads). This place is not any close to authentic Indian cuisine and I can't recommend it to anyone.

Delivery on time but all the food was way overcooked and there wasn't enough meat or veg for the sauce. Won't be going back again

Had a takeaway from here tonight for the first time. Rude delivery driver, reported to the restaurant but even their attitude felt as if they did not care. We had tasteless like warm food, peshwari Naan was probably the best of a bad bunch. My CTM sauce was more of a veg stick cube dissolved in cold water, bland Biriyani and the dips….. well not too sure how to describe those, not pleasant….. expected far more especially with the higher than usual prices compared to others…… disappointed is the word here, and especially surprised with the recent positive reviews to be honest. I’m afraid this will be a never again unless there is some drastic change.

Great place for Indian tastes with flavours scintillating taste buds offering not just the usual tastes of typical Indo-Irish flavours. This new restaurant in the block offers a tast of north and south India. Was here few months back, bitterly disappointed as they opened with service and kitchen challenges. Visiting today was absolutely a different experience, they have heard the feedback and taken intentional steps to improve offering great food, great service. Well done Subin and team for a great transformation. Support our local restaurant who are trying hard to make it a great place for local community.

Would not recommend - ordered and paid online, received confirmation email with expected delivery 45mins. Over an hour later still not here. 2 phone calls to establish they had no record of our order. Food eventually arrived almost 2 hrs after ordering and still was incomplete. Will never get again.

I absolutely recommend this place, the y have the best Indian food I ever had. The staff is very nice.

Eaten here in past and was always excellent. Recently returned to area after few years away and got Monday night take out and got to say worse Indian I have ever had. Sauce tasteless and chicken like rubber. Don't know if wk end left overs reheated but literally binned it along with menu as won't be ordering here again.

I hate leaving bad reviews, even more so for local businesses, but this is necessary. If you enjoy quality Indian food then avoid. I got the set meal for two and it’s simply the most bland experience I’ve ever had from an Indian, and at €30 for take away it simply was not worth it. The onion bajji were hard chewy and tasteless, and the chicken kebab starters were old and tough. The chicken tandoori had about 6 pieces of chicken and was smothered in what at first seemed like a nice aromatic sauce but once you tasted it had as much character as a glass of water. There was more lamb in the other dish but this had even less flavour than the chicken. This place will suit you if you want Indian food without the richness of Indian spices.

Was visiting drogheda to see family and decided visit Tamarind as my brother in law lives close by. What a mistake a Friday night the place was empty and cold no heating food was disgraceful l had lamb tikka which was so tough l could barely cut it my wife ordered veg samosa for a starter and was given onion baj when I complained we were given no apology or discount never again

Ordered last night for delivery. The portion size has really reduced. Chicken in both dishes was dry and flavourless and cut into bite size pieces rather than the chunks of chicken we have got previously. Very disappointing as have ordered from here quite abit over the past few years and was always spot on. I doubt I will order again and use the €40 on food that's enjoyable.

Was really looking forward to our new local Indian takeaway. We cooked a nice Indian curry and decided to get some starters and sides from Royal Indian. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We ordered some poppadoms, two portions. We got two poppadoms!!!! The naans were very disappointing. Will not he returning .

The star of the dish, Chicien Briyani didn't impress me at all.Too spicy and no salt. Service was impeccable and warm. Staff was extremely polite and humble. They immediately responded to correct the food, but the second one was still tasteless. Can't wait to try other dishes here.

I'm in Drogeda for work. So went to the Royal Indian. Place looks really nice inside and out but the FOOD IS TERRIBLE. I travel the UK and Ireland for work and I have never not eaten what is put in front of me. I love Indian food but this was far from even close to being good. I have more Indian meals than most as always away working in other parts of the world. This was the worse Indian meal I have ever had by some margin... I left all my main apart from 1 piece of chicken and then to be given a discount of 3.75euro. Just eat somewhere else people.

Tried a takeaway from here for the 1st time this evening. Food was excellent, found our new favourite Indian Restaurant. Will definitely be back.

Had a lovely biryani from here a few days ago. Returned today for a late order with the family, their kitchen had closed but when we told them we were starving they accommodated us and let us order ! Such good customer service. Thank you. Recommended highly for authentic food.

We got a takeaway so cannot review in house experience. However the takeaway was efficient and friendly. The food was completely tasteless I was so disappointed it seemed that the same bland sauce was used for our three different mains. Tandoori chicken only redeeming meal quite tasty but accompanying sauce bland.

A beautiful meal with an excellent and friendly service in a lovely restaurant. Will be back.

Having ordered from here on numerous occasions, I would as a rule have scored it higher , alas tonight’s meal was slightly disappointing as when the delivery arrived , although prompt the sauces had spilt all over the bag and were wasted , the poppadoms were stale / soggy as against crispy , the rest of the meal was good , hopefully this is just a one off and the normally excellent quality will continue,

We love our takeaway and Indian food is one of them. We used to go to an Indian restaurant in town but after our unfortunate experience in the past, we always just get our food delivered to us. We tried Royal Indian Cuisine for the first time a few weeks back and we loved it that we decided to order from them again this evening and we love it even more. The food was hot when they arrived and delicious and even with a few requests to accommodate my taste buds (being Asian), I was not let down. So compliments to the Chef and looking forward to my next order ☺️👍

The food here is of a really low quality and I would say it has just been reheated rather then cooked fresh. This place is all looks and no substance, which is a total waste of time if you are getting a takeaway. There are much better Indian restaurants in Drogheda now, and I would have thought that would make places like this up there game.

Pakora - worst ever had in my lifetime. Server - very bad service Restaurant looks good from inside but unfortunately very bad customer service. Not very welcoming. Dont ever waste even 5€ here. Because of the bad customer service we prefer to eat just 2 items. Pakora and chicken starter. Our first time in Drogheda and worst restaurant experience ever.

The food was just amazing i would 100 percent come back again. The waiter was really nice we got complimentry popodams which tasted amazing. Yous should really try it

I ordered yesterday and was really disappointed with the food. Chips & vegatable samosas were very greasy. Chicken Korma was half full with four pieces of chicken! I'm not sure how you could send this out to a customer, it really looked bad. Tamarind was my favourite Indian restaurant so we ordered thinking the standard would be the same, and unfortunatly it wasn't.

Definitely food was delicious, especially beef dry fry with porotta.Ambience was very good. Parking was an issue.

I have eaten in this restaurant many times and have yet to get a bad meal. It is 40 minutes drive for me so hence why its not a weekly thing. If you are truly into Indian food this restaurants food will not disappoint you. Looking forward to my next visit. Regards David Kavanagh

Ordered a take away for 5 people The worst Indian I have ever tasted Everything was stale Onion bhaji was greasy and flavorless Chicken tikka was dry no flavor and hard as a rock Chicken tikka masala was bland and chicken was dry Nan was soggy Pilau rice was disgusting Chipate bread was like cardboard Beef was chewy Not one meal was nice Inedible and a waste of money Also delivery took 1 hr 15 mins on a Tuesday Avoid at all costs

We found it a little bit pricey but the quality of the food was good. the staff seemed to have a bit of an attitude.

When the restaurant first opened the food wasn't too bad but as time has gone by it has gradually got worse. The onion bhajis used to be so good but now all I got was 3 really greasy over done onion balls. The vegetarian tikka masala tasted like no other tikka masala I have ever had. The only good thing was the poppadom. Nice and crispy, however, only one dip. Delivery time was supposed to be one hour, it took an hour and three quarters. If I hadn't phoned up I would probably be still waiting for it. I phoned up again after I received the meal to complain about it and all they said they could do was 10 percent off the next rubbish meal. You've lost a good customer.

Original review below: One of the best meals I've ever eaten...and I can say I've eaten my fair share of food over the years. The onion bhajis were perfectly done. The ratio of onion to batter meant there was no leftover bit in the middle, and each meat portion was carefully marinated and cooked to perfection. Each curry and/or sauce was class, and paired extremely well with each dish. Definitely very tasty food--even the naan was memorable. That says something. Service was pleasant and we felt safe with lots of sanitation measures in place. They checked our covid certs as well. We are thoroughly impressed, and will definitely make sure to come back!

The food is great but cant stand the driver who works for them and the other takeaways at that location.. He rings for directions even though he has been here lots of times. Its a simple address nothing special. On google maps. He gives out if you dont answer your phone. He is rude. You might have to go to the car to get it if he rings you outside. Once he told me to hurry up since he parked in the middle of the road and was blocking traffic. We had to collect it twice from around the corner. It turns me of ordering from this place.

Food was lovely but cold. Delivery took far too long. Tamarind ignored our complaint, didn't even acknowledge or make an excuse.
