This place should probably no longer be in business. When we arrived at the agreed time, no one answered the door bell. We knocked for some time and finally one of the guests came to let us in – when the proprietor came, he said that the doorbell doesn’t work. No apology, no mention of when it would be fixed. The room was small and smelled of dog. The toilet didn’t flush well. The walls are thin – we could clearly hear voices in the next room. This place not inexpensive, overpriced considering that it is remote from the town centre. To make matters even worse, the day after we paid our bill and left, they charged our credit card an additional 20 Euros without informing us or asking permission. When I found out and complained, they claimed that a couple should use only the small double bed and not also the single bed that was in the corner. There was no mention of 2 beds or one bed in the agreed price. What would they have done had I paid with cash? If you still decided to stay here, be aware that it is hard to find. There is a sign on the main road but after turning off, Google Maps said you have arrived but you actually have to go 100 yards around a corner on a side street to see the small unlit sign.

Worst experience ever. The moment we went in corridor had strong dog smell. They showed room and then we went to take our luggage from car and when we saw Peter, I mentioned about the smell in there and he told us to leave immediately and opened the door. There was no apologies or telling that they will clean or spray perfume. Directly told us to leave the place and I said I have things in room and when we went to get things a lady came and started shouting saying there is no smell in here and she yelled leave from here now and we won't pay you back. First of all, we talked very politely and just mentioned about the smell as it was very strong and was making my wife feeling sick, instead of rectifying the issue they told us to leave telling we won't pay you back. We didn't even spent 5 mins in the room and even before asking lady shouted we won't give payment back.We like dogs and we also have dogs in our own home , still we couldn't tolerate the smell and there way of dealing wasn't nice at all. Please don't go there......

Auf Deutsch: besser woanders schlafen (siehe unten) We arrived at Orley House later in the evening and the first impression of the room was ok. Unfortunately only the first impression, because... - there were dirty spots on the bed sheet - because of the late arrival we told the host about it at the next morning but he only said, everything is cleaned every day. So maybe it was clean but this really is a no-go for me. The host saw the spots, confirmed it but denied its responsibility for it. In a normal hotel one would go to the reception and complain, but here no one was there because it was late in the evening... :-( - the bad room wasn't really clean - there was dust on the boards and I had to clean it on my own. Small thing but shouldn't happen. - internet connection was poor - at least in our room it only worked when standing close to the door - we could hear every step from guests walking in the room above us - and finally: the shower didn't have enough warm water for one person - after 10 minutes it turned cold - not good for a room with two persons and not a good start into the new morning... The problem was confirmed by the host as well - he said it can happen when too many persons take a shower at the same time. Well... what a surprise early in the morning... So two points only for the breakfast which was good and for the surrounding - the room was unfortunately not worth its price :-( Deutsch: Zum Frühstücken in Ordnung, schlafen besser woanders...

Peter is a really nice and helpful person. Breakfast was ok but we had a really small room, where we could not even open our suitcases. Towels weren't really clean, there were stains on it. For one night ok, but never again. We had hairs of a dog in the whole room and bathroom.

We booked this B&B through B&B Ireland. Arrived here earlier today around 4:30 pm, rang the doorbell three times, and got no answer. Went and had dinner in down, and when we came back 2 hours later we found a sign posted on the door that reads "Sorry, we are closed due to water leaks and loss of full power in the rooms." Knocked again to see if she could help us, no answer... Although a car has been sitting in the driveway the entire time, so someone must be home to have put the sign up... Horrible. Now we're stuck in Drogheda with nowhere to stay and no global cellular service. Thanks for ruining our last evening in this other wise wonderful country.

A wonderful place to stay and experience what it's like to stay in an Irish home. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was five star. Every cereal you could think of. The eggs and bacon were cooked to perfection. The gardens are amazing. Will sure go back next time.

Stayed here with friends for a weekend get away from UK and this is definitely an experience not to be forgotten. The rooms were well laid out and breakfast was definitely top notch with the food served hot and orders taken specifically to each guest's request. The room got cleaned everyday and the standard of cleanliness was very good. The host was happy to book us transport when we needed. Will definitely visit again.
