I have often shopped at Mall St. Matthews as I live very close by. Recently I had surgery and cannot walk outside with my dog. I took him to Mall St. Mattews and there are no postings on the outside doors about service animals only, I checked. While I was there, we walked the mall and Griffyn spread holiday cheer, we stopped numerous times for people to pet him, for him to practice sit, stay, walk, right & left. We did as intended, we got exercise and spread many smiles and holiday warmth. Today, unfortunately, our 4th visit; during the miserable rain & cold, we were asked to leave as Griffyn is not a service dog, nor is he a certified therapy dog yet. I am very sad, we had so much fun spreading happiness and we also noticed that in December there are several 'pet nights with Santa'. Is this night specifically for service pets? The sign did not indicate that this is the case. How are responsible pet owners supposed to prepare their dog for a visit with Santa in a completely foreign environment if they are not allowed to practice? I will still shop at the Mall St. Matthews, but my desire to just visit the mall and window shop has been seriously and detrimentally affected by the experience with the mall security person who asked me to leave and then informed me that he was only enforcing rules after he inquired as 'this is not my mall....' The staff of specific stores and many passerbys will have to perform their duties this holiday season without the joy of seeing a large, friendly and comforting Saint Bernard. Sincerely, Mary Catherine O'Kennedy

I had not been to a mall in years. I was greatly impressed with all the new things and ease of shopping. They have a zappos, big chain stores, lots of different food options and stores. We shopped for hours, had lunch, ice cream, and a massage! Wonderful way to spend a cold Saturday!

It's really a nice site to see and lots of shoping for the whole family. Lots of parking and its handicap friendly. More store than I would like to count and theres great spots for taking photos, its large enough to take an exercise walk and refreshments or food before or after. Something for everyone of corse prices are going g to be higher than at single business shops, but hey it's not just St. Matthew's mall any mall I e been to has always been high. If your looking g for gifts or just new to the area it's worth a trip to I joy for your self happy and safe shopping.

so i let my responsible 16 year old hang out at the mall with my 2 responsible 19 year old ADULT children. They were ID by one of the security rent a cops here and was told that they were not allowed to be with anyone under the age of 21 even with me inside the mall but just not right next to them I was told that that didn't matter. Not very polite. I said that I was the parent and I was in the building with them and that she needed to back off. I continued to let my kids hang out together but because of this unprofessional incident I will never spend another dime here again.

We went to the mall, mainly to eat, but it was good to shop around and see different things. We stopped at the Korean barbecue place and had lunch and pricewise. It’s very reasonable and everything taste really good. All the stores is really neat clean met this awesome lady at the American Eagle storestopped in at Bath and body Works. I was stopping in checking out the great deals and smelling the great candles and hand, soaps, body washes, etc..

I never write reviews, but I am so disappointed and appalled that I’m making an exception. For years I have come to this mall, but today I went at 4:30 and was told to leave because my boyfriend is 17 and I am 18, and a “minor” has to be accompanied by someone 21 years of age, not just an adult. My boyfriend and I were just having a fun day out to go Christmas shopping. The rule has apparently been around for years, and I understand the base concept- but it’s very poorly advertised and could use some extra logic. Is being 18 not enough anymore? Either way as much as I love this mall, I couldn’t not write a review to let others know of this unfortunate and ridiculous rule. Hopefully they find a better alternative in the future.

Nice mall. Good selection of stores. Especially enjoy the visible presence of security as well as local PD in light of recent violence in the area.

The people who help run some of these stores (the workers) are great but the owners of the mall and the stores are awful. They won't let workers, even minors, take MANDATORY breaks without fining them, even if they are short staffed. Then when they complain about it and threaten to do something about it their job and way of living gets threatened. St. Matthews went from a store that I genuinely enjoyed going to to a store that I feel bad for even existing in because of how awful they treat their employees and workers at each store in the mall. People should be able to leave their stores especially if they are minors and/or short staffed for breaks and bathroom breaks. But mall st.matthews thinks they can have absolute power and threaten peoples jobs if they even whisper a word of this the city of Louisville. Please help these workers and let the companies know you are not happy with them and that you will be complaining further if nothing is done.

Hello, the store was large and wonderful. There is a huge selection of clothes and food and whatever one may need. However, the store was disgusting. The fitting rooms in particular were awful. The floor was covered in muck and needed to be swept and vacuumed. JCPenney and Victoria’s Secret were the worst. Personally, I wore sandals so i was not wearing socks and in order to try on jeans and other pants I had to take them off, which I was dreading. The bottoms of my feet are covered in who the hell knows and I am going home to angrily clean my feet. Do better.

this is a big mall we absolutely loved the food court. we ate excellent Chinese food and had lots and lots of options. I love the layout of the food court. it's nice to have so many stores open to shop in. I did not like that you had to go outside the mall to get into the movie theater and other stores as well, it was weird.

Mall has it's issues mainly visitors of a certain "culture". There are some cool people....if I had to put a number on it I would say about 13% of shoppers like to ruin for everybody else....They like to be loud run around and be a nuisance. Their phones on speaker or blaring music.... read some reveiws below and you can extrapolate the lack of "urban" stores but yet they crowd in there going bannanas.....There is an abundance of security guards for these issues. The stores are kinda clean. Stocked and presentable. It's your average mall. A little bit of everything, a whole lot of nothing.

Very nice mall… female security guard has an attitude and had to be put in her place by mall office… other than that it’s a pleasant place to shop. I wish Williams Sonoma was still there. Since they moved I don’t visit as often. But I love the money I am saving each year now.

Best available mall closest to Fort Knox. It has a great food court, the stores are touch and go. You might see something you like, then again, you might not. Definitely caters to the teen scene. Wonderful movie theater connected, Dave and Busters, to include an Ulta. They also have the only Cinnabun in about 30miles around. Parking is hard to find.

Nice and clean little mall with a decent amount of stores…. and I say “little mall” because it really wasn’t that big compared to the many malls I’ve been to across the U.S.

Great mall with several amenities. The food court had various options.

  • 3/5 Mark F. 9 months ago on Google
Overcrowded traffic and grid lock entrance roads. Suburban life at it's best. Parking like a rat race maze, and once parked, no pedestrian corridor to safely get to mall building entrance. Repeat this for the exit. But this is where the store 🏬 with the stuff is, so gotta deal. Bring patience.

It's great to see a mall that still appears to be alive. It was clean and bright. The food court had a lot of cool options. It was great place to stretch legs and meet up with friends.

Decent mall with a lot of shops and eateries around. Decent amount of parking space with Ok rest rooms and amenities. Have been this mall only to access some local shopping around and also to have access to in store returns that I shopped online.

The kids stuff right here is wonderful my kids are enjoying every time, But the lady upfront she is extremely disrespectful, she supposed not be a public place like this. No more to visit again. Don’t recommend.

  • 3/5 Roberto W. 8 months ago on Google
The property looks bad, dead and dying trees, faded and/or no striping. Almost had an accident coming in from westbound Shelbyville Rd today. Where the inbound lane splits a van squeezed in next to me on my right. There was no striping indicating two lanes. On Sherburn Ln there is no striping, no arrows, what the heck. If you’re inbound off Shelbyville Rd there’s nothing to indicate if there are two lanes and which lane goes straight toward the hotel. The place used to be well maintained, but apparently there are other priorities. Pathetic.

This is a pleasant unexpected entry! The Kentucky Derby Museum has a mobile exhibit in the Mall St. Matthews and it’s VERY NICE! Here at Derby time, the Museum is paying tribute to Black jockey’s, their indelible mark in racing, the unforgettable importance on their contributions made to the sport of horse racing in the Kentucky Derby and the overall contributions to the Derby by Black ppl! #Classy #Nice

Not as impressive as it used to be. I prefer Oxmoor. St. Matthews is now the new Jefferson Mall and Jefferson Mall is the old Bashford Manor mall.

Good place to spend time with your friends and shop around. They have shops for everyone. It’s a nice mall and I haven’t ever really feared my safety. It is a good in between as far as nice stuff with out a ridiculous price tag.

We went to Zappos and Dillards. Although we rarely shop there, it's a great Mall, found more than I was looking for at sale prices. The only thing was parking was very full with plenty of others looking to park too. Couldn't imagine going at the holidays.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory. Love the Sunday brunch! The waffle is crispy & love the pecans, strawberries & whipped cream on top! Coffee is great too! Service very good! We also went to Whole Foods. Only one of 2 places that carry the Dorot crushed frozen garlic that I cook with. Trader Joe's has it also. Very convenient to use!

The employees (especially the mall security) were really friendly and accessible. There's a great combo of well run stores throughout. My only complaint is in regards to the pushy people that man the booths set up throughout the walkways.

  • 4/5 Terry D. 1 year ago on Google
Food court has very nice selection and service. 90% of the open tables were clean and other 10% had been cleaned within minutes. Variety of stores can satisfy most anyone's niche. The reason not 5 stars is that there is way to many "center of walkway kiosks". Created less room and the kiosk never seem to have very attentive workers.

The mall of st matthew’s is always filled with life and excitement, however the bathrooms inside were horrendous and truly made me want to leave. There was toilet paper everywhere including on the walls, and both toilets were clogged. But it was still a great place to shop.

It's the best mall to go to in my opinion here in louisville. They're helpful for people that are blind and make sure that I get to the stores I would like to shop at. I have nothing to say but good things about them.

Expected the mall to be for all people, but they allow stores to do business when the are racist. Bella Divine are racist and should not be allowed in the mall. We are hard working people who deserve a decent place to spend our money.

We went to get my daughter's ears pierced. They were very friendly and professional. She answered all of my daughter's questions, and was so kind to her. It's no surprise that there was a bit of a wait. She didn't rush us at all, but let us take the time we needed to choose the jewelry and ask questions. I do wish that the pricing was posted publicly, as it was a bit more expensive than I anticipated. However, it was worth it for the experience we had.

Mall St. Matthews is a great place to shop, eat, and be entertained. It has a wide variety of stores, including high-end retailers and local boutiques. There are also several restaurants, a movie theater, and a bowling alley. The mall is clean and well-maintained, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Mall St. Matthews to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing shopping experience.

I went in to buy a few things at penny's. Got ready to check out and main check out (center of store) was closed. Found a employee who said only check out was at entrance. Went to entrance I came into and no check out. Found the employee and he said the entrance on other side of the store. I just put down my things. I will not shop there again!!!

A pretty good mall, lot of stores. THere is. big food court area for eating with many tables. The mall is always very clean. Not many bathrooms, but thats okay at least they are clean. Many places to shop. Horrible parking situation. You will be trying to park for a very long time so try to get there before 9 am

We visit this mall fairly often, usually to eat at El Nopal or Red Robin. The mall is clean and pleasant. There aren't many places to sit. More sitting areas would be a nice addition. I find shopping exhausting so having a bench here and there to take five on would make me feel like I could stay and shop more.
