For sure in the top 3 landmarks of Hamburg. Beautiful combination of old and new architecture. Definitely worth visiting. Special thanks for the free entrance for the observation deck i.e. plaza. You just collect tickets and go up by awesome 80m long stairs. View is for sure the best one in Hamburg.

Beautiful architecture. A must visit place in Hamburg. Do take tickets downstairs it's for free (atleast for now) and go up with escalators. One of the coolest escalators I saw. Nice view of ships and jetty from the top. The top view of churches adds to the beautiful view from here. Have a coffee and enjoy the scenery. PS: The tickets to see concert hall are different.

A work of art to see the architecture is very beautiful. If you you drive directly to the Elbphilharmonie and from the water you have an unobstructed view, It's a good thing that visiting the plaza is free. But not inside.

The building is very beautiful. You need to go to the ticket counter and say that you want to go to the observation point. They will give you free tickets there. Then you go up two escalators and some stairs. And voila, you are on the observation point. Be aware that there is a strong wind, but the views are incredible. There are also restaurants and a restroom in the building. A great experience, thank you!

A must see if you visit Hamburg. Its nice to look at from the outside, but also the inside has much to offer. The escalator is a masterpiece, the platform for public visit is beautiful and the hotel rooms, the Hotel itself and the concert hall are all a architectural masterpiece as well.

Went to 2 concerts during a 4 day visit Pros: The large hall is quite impressive. The visibility to the stage was great even though I was sitting at the upper levels. Supposedly, all 2100 seats have maximum distance of 30 meters to the conductor. The acoustics were great as well. Beethoven's violin concerto performance was very nice. The smaller recital hall good acoustics. Visibility of the stage was good even from the back. Website was easy to use and book tickets. Allocate extra time to enjoy a walk around the Hafencity neighborhood as well as the 360 view from the main floor of the venue. Cons: There are a lot of steps after the two escalators. If you are mobility challenged, then arrive early so that you can queue up to take the elevators. The bathroom at the main floor (after the two escalators) is inconveniently located. There are additional bathrooms as you enter either the two concert hall areas.

A great place to be. Alone the architecture is worthwhile visiting. A seemingly endless moving stairway brings you to the Foyer. From here you can ascend to the entrance doors to the concert hall and to the windows from where you have a beautiful view over Hamburg in all directions. The music performances which take place in the concert hall truly are world-class.

As part of Jerusalem symphony orchestra I performed two concert there. The prestige and luxury of this place is unbelievable. As a player I felt proud to play in this great facility. Most advance, secure, beautiful and built to the needs of music and musicians. Bravo

Beautiful building, you take a tour of the deck for free. Amazing view from the deck, best view of Hamburg in my opinion! Definitely worth a visit. If you want to go to a concert you need to book early (2 weeks) tickets are sold out quickly. Very accessible by car (big parking lot).

You can visit the building for free, you just need to go to one of the offices outside to get a free entrance ticket. The building's architecture is amazing and you have a great view over Hamburg and its harbour. There is also the possibility to drink and eat and have a great panoramic view. Be aware that it is a very crowded place with hundreds of people visiting it in the same time. Enjoy!

One of the iconic and uniquely styled Building in Hamburg. We just visited the viewing deck/floor. While you are expected to buy a ticket but you don't pay anything. The view is good, you can spend maybe 20-30 mins here. Nothing great apart from that.

Went here for the observation deck. It was cheaper than I expected and there were some great views all around the 360° deck. We bought tickets in advance and avoided the long queue. The cafe also has some lovely black forest cake and cinnamon buns.

To enter, you get a QR code and scan it. The queue is crowded, but your turn comes quickly. Once you go up the escalator, Hamburg and the harbor are under your feet. The view is worth seeing. We hope to come for a concert next time we come

One of the amazing opera in Germany and in the world. Well situated. The building from outside is really nice. I love the top, I mean the roof of that opera (waves design). My German friend told me that building was so expensive for Hamburg city anyway it look very nice. You must to enter and go up to the huge balcony of the building. The view looking to the old city and to the port is lovely. The design inside is also beautiful....

Views are pretty awesome, and a stunning piece of architecture to say the least.. You can walk all the way around the observation plaza, so 360 degree views across the Hafencity, Port and beyond! It's free entry up to the first plaza, it has toilets, shop and a restaurant, so some great facilities if your unsure if it's worth the trip. A great little place to take some pictures if your on a budget, want to kill some time or just love ships and dockland. You might also be able to catch an orchestral view 😉. Recommended.

Beautiful architecture in the heart of Hamburg city. Most visited tourist spot with a beautiful architecture. You can go up to one point and can have a circular view of the Hamburg city and the lake. Enjoy watching large ships, top view of different chruches and city structures. If you have time try to learn about the history behind it, then i will recommend to go through. It has a enriched story behind it. This building is a wonder to the city and to the world.

This is a must see when in Hamburg. You can get onto the platform which is half way up the building for free, but you have to get a "ticket" to get through the entrance. It's a stunning building with the most amazing views! Try out the Stoertebecker bar when there, lovely beers and very good food!

I flew here from Belgium to hear Joshua Bell perform the Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Mahler symphony 5. It's a concert-going experience that I've never expected to have in my life. The building is magnificent both inside and outside. The view from the plaza makes it very worth it to arrive one hour early just to enjoy all the lights of the city & harbour as well as the calming sight of the water. The acoustic of the grand hall makes me feel like my previous classical concerts were a bit... muddled? Every sound in the hall was clear, I think it definitely amplified the performance perfectly. Joshua was... a beast. Since every sound can be heard so clearly I truly admire how he was able to articulate the music so beautifully and accurately from the beginning to the end. I'm glad I travelled a long way for this live classical music experience...

Very beautiful interior and exterior. Entrance to the outdoor balcony half way up the building is free although you do need to pick up a free ticket at the entrance. Not much to do other than enjoy the view and take pictures. The escalator upstairs is recognized by many tourists as it is a long beautiful ride up.

It's not a mere concert hall, it's a spaceship! Absolutely worth visiting just for experiencing the stunning visuals and view of the port, but acoustics is out of this world too. Can't recommend enough. If you came unprepared, check the concert tickets on the day you are visiting, they usually keep some for the last moment.

Elbphilharmonie Hamburg is an architectural marvel! From its stunning glass exterior to the breathtaking views of the city and harbor from the Plaza, it's a must-visit attraction. The acoustics inside the concert halls are exceptional, making every performance a memorable experience. The combination of modern design and musical excellence creates a unique cultural destination in Hamburg. Don't miss the chance to catch a concert here – it's worth every moment!

It has a great view and great acoustics. When you go up to the terrace, Hamburg is at your feet. It is almost the meeting point of the rivers coming from all over the city. You can also see the liveliness of the port and shipyard around.

Amazing building. What an asset to Hamburg this fantastic, unusual, strange and special building is. So much more than I expected and so beautifully detailed. The free public plaza half way up offers phenomenal views of the Elbe river and of Hamburg. It’s free, so do it. You won’t regret it!!

Super toller Klang.

Fantastic place. The concerts were sold out for my time in Hamburg. You must book in advance. But also the visit of the building and the view from the top floor overlooking the port are worth it.

  • 5/5 Rayne M. 10 months ago on Google
There's free admission into the plaza but that requires you to get a ticket first at the booth. Wait time is little so don't worry. You get to walk around the outer plaza and see different views from Elphi. Even better if you arrive via water taxi so you could see the beautiful building from sea level.

Good place to come for the Hamburg city view, you will see 360° view. You can't go inside the concert hall though, only at the first part of the building. And the escalator is probably the longest one that I ever ride to get up there. It's free to go in, but have to get a QR ticket first before enter.

One of the largest Concert Halls of the World. The architecture is world famous and was built by one of the best architects of the world. Situated at the edge of River Elbe, it is a must visit to all the people who live or are travelling to Hamburg. Unfortunately I could not go in, but I know that there is an observation deck at the top of the structure with is a must visit. If you are able to go then please go ahead else at least take a ferry (Included in Zone Ticket) and reach at the foot of the structure.

(Translated by Google) Admittedly, the building is impressive. With all the positive reviews you read here, you shouldn't forget: Completed 6 years after the planned date, construction costs of 886 million, 11.24 times as planned. Isn't a project like that in our capital just being brought to an end with an enormous amount of taxpayers money? One can argue about taste, futuristic or illusionary is not for everyone either.

What a lovely place! Remarkable architecture, spectacular views from both inside the Plaza (make sure to catch the sunset or a night-city view from there) and to the building from the city & ferry. Take a ferry #72 to enjoy breathtaking views of the building - with the nice weather, the clouds & the sky seamlessly continue through the building, it's amazing. :)

When in Hamburg the Elbphilarmonie is a major highlight. Firstly because of the extraordinary architecture of the building, set on an island of the river in an area of recovered storage houses and port infrastructure. Then the concert hall itself, a marvel of acoustics. The stage is surrounded by public so it's possible to see the orchestra from all points of view. All the seats have great visibility of the stage.

Overall a 10/10! Must Visit in Hamburg! Parking space is more than enough and organised with perfection. It even is free of charge when attending an event in the hall. There are plenty of food oppertunities and areas to sit down, they seem all spread out which is nice for some privacy. Places are well organised and you dont feel stuffed to others. Probably the cleanest Toilets you will find in Hamburg!! Inside the hall, the sound is amazing and it is a true one-of-a-kind expirience to listen to music here! Employees are all helpful and friendly. Defenitely recommending a visit, maybe even without a concert!

Incredible place in Hamburg. The visit to the plaza costs only 2€ per person and it's well worth the money. The view from the observation floor is stunning and you can truly experience Hafencity and Hamburg in general in 360⁰. The bonus is the tube, this particular escalator that is beautifully designed and takes you up directly to the eighth floor of the building. On the plaza you have a one hour window to visit and "relax" with a beautiful view. I recommend coming here when the sun sets for an even more beautiful experience🌆

(Translated by Google) When I was there it was shortly after the building was completed and it looks super modern and beautiful. Unfortunately, the building is moldy in some places because the construction took so long. But I have to say that I think it was really worth it and it has a great view of the North Alster and the harbor as well as the musicals The Lion King and Aladdin. In addition, there are delicious chocolate cakes upstairs in the bar es and it's very cozy. I definitely want to go back in the near future (especially because of the infinitely long escalators that you have to go up) and can only recommend it! Fantastic venue. Even the highest seats have a good view and audio quality. Fascinating curved escalators on the way up and some wonderful viewing platforms to explore pre-show and during the interval. Very helpful staff.

One of the main attractions of the city to visit. We went up there to have a view on the city and harbour. It must be special during sunset and sunrise time. But I would love to come back for a classical music concert.

It's one of good place for 360 view of Hamburg. You can also go for many concerts. If you like to get good photos of elbphilharmonie Hamburg than i would suggest you to cross the elbe tunnel from landusbruken to other side and take you camera with good zoom lens. It's a must visit place in Hamburg for tourists visiting for short time period. 3 photos from other side of elbe tunnel and 2 photos from elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

(Translated by Google) Hopefully we can enjoy one of the wonderful concerts again soon! Who hasn't been there: once in a lifetime you should have seen the "Elfie" and enjoyed the fantastic acoustics !!!

One the best buildings in Germany all over. Must see in Hamburg. I enjoyed a concert there 2019. It was great, great and great.

Thankful for the free entry but very disappointed guests have to pay a tour guide to see the concert halls. I just want to see the beautiful architecture but both halls were blocked off. If you’re in Hamburg on a budget, only check out the Elbphilharmonie if you’ve nothing else to do. The scale of the industrial port is impressive but still nothing to shout about.

Absolutely gorgeous. The architecture of it is impressive. We've come here for the second time and now we also got tickets to visit the inside. The views from the terrace were amazing but you should be aware that there is a chance that you, like us, might get there on a windy day and hardly find your balance there. Otherwise just beautiful. Hopefully next time we visit we will do it for a concert.

(Translated by Google) Great acoustics. Really artistically valuable from the outside, but the longer you think about it, the uglier it looks. (Original) Super Akustik.

My favourite building in the world. I cannot describe how beautiful the building is. Amazing form and a spectacular landmark for the Hamburg city. You can vist it from inside as well. Have a paranomic view of the city and the ports. Must must visit.

It’s a great experience to appreciate the view of Hamburg including the city view and the view of the port. We didn’t pay any entrance fee for visiting the plaza. It’s free and we only need to go to the information desk to ask for the ticket. It definitely worths visiting!
