One of the most beautiful gardens I have been too. You want to peace of mind, rest with family, or just hang out with friends - then you will love Planten un Blomen. I couldn’t get enough of it. Really enjoyed sitting down and doing nothing.

We arrived just when the Japanese garden was at its peak. It was absolutely beautiful. The park is very large and free admission. Very well maintained with lots of water features, themed gardens, and many chairs and green space to sit and relax. Also a wonderful place to go for a run, if go early, you will have it all to yourselves.

A fantastic, peaceful and wonderful place in the centre of Hamburg with so many different areas, ideal for walkers. I particularly liked the Japanese Gardens mostly there, was like heaven. I would definitely visit again when I visit Hamburg again. Free entry.

This is not a normal park! This is heaven in my opinion. I can bet that you won’t get tired while walking through this iconic park. Each part of the park hast its own beauty. So try to see everything once you get there. Unfortunately due to energy saving the musical fountain does not work but still it has a lot place which makes it pleasant to visit it. Do not miss the videos that i took from the park.

A beautiful park, for young and old, very nicely maintained. The greenhouses were closed. There is a lot to see. There are many seating options. Food and drinks are also provided when the weather is nice. A children's playground is also available. Toilets are also available. We had a nice time there.

A wonderful urban park, developed as the medieval city fortifications were taken down. Now, an ample area for stress relaxation in a big city. Trees, ponds and cascades are arranged aesthetically and harmoniously. Also a Japanese garden was planted.

(Translated by Google) You have to be here, especially in summer. Lovingly planted and well-kept park. The green oasis and lungs of the city center. Wonderfully relaxing. There are also three large and beautiful children's playgrounds and a well-kept snack in the middle. (Original) Insbesondere im Sommer muss man hier gewesen sein. (Translated by Google) A super nice park with very different types of plants. The beautiful, spacious grounds invite you to take a walk. There is also a lot on offer for children, for example the large central playground. Due to the location between Dammtor and the exhibition halls, it is also very easy to reach by public transport.

Beautiful Japanese garden. It’s worth to visit and walk through, a perfect place to relax and think 💭 The only cons is people who can’t read the sings and climb up to the rocks.

Must visit place for people who love to walk in a garden. This botanical garden in Hamburg blends nature and recreation together while offering a diverse array of plants and water features creating a very beautiful and peaceful environment for leisure walks. The park is definitely well maintained as far as I can see.

A calm, serene spot in the middle of Hamburg. Good place to meditate, or just to reflect. There are occasional Go sessions and tea ceremonies. A nice lady serves green tea for a small contribution. Must see.

Absolutely magical garden where you can really rest especially when temperatures run higher. Plenty of old trees, beautiful flowers and water birds. There is possibility to by drinks and snacks in small cafeterias located in the garden. They are running wonderful multimedia show each evening after sunset where colourfully lit water is dancing to the rythm of classical music! Strongly recommended place!

A really beautiful park in the middle of Hamburg. You can see a lot of nature surrounded by tall buildings. It reminded me of Central Park in New York, US. I stayed there for hours and still did not see everything. I visit during the spring, so a lot of different and colorful flowers could be seen. I really recommend the visit to this park.

Best place in Hamburg to have a walk or jog. In the centre of city and would delight you with colorful plants. If you are lucky you find rabbits hopping here and there.

  • 5/5 Lukas J. 3 years ago on Google
Spent an hour on a sunny Tuesday afternoon. Very beautiful and relaxing. There a few cafes with seating areas outside which was nice. Can sit by the pond and enjoy the view of the garden with the TV tower in the background. Can be busy at times if the weather is nice, but there are plenty of space for all. The only thing on the negative side - directions were confusing, there could be more maps because it's quite tricky to get around without getting lost.

Wonderful park, big and spacious, many different corners and places to visit. Very pretty but naturally arranged plants everywhere. I was only 5 days in Hamburg, but spent a good amount of time on two days in this park. A great place to chill and enjoy the views, scents and soft water noises. A bit sad I couldn't visit the greenhouse, but hopefully it will be open again when I visit Hamburg in the future.

It is very beautiful park within short distance of downtown. You can reach here by subway. It is very well organized with lots of colorful flowers. I don’t believe there is so much to enjoy for kids and it is not that big. But, it still has interesting spots and areas where you can relax and release your stress. I was there in January and weather was so lovely. As a visitor, one visit would be enough.

(Translated by Google) Absolute disaster as far as the visitors are concerned. Crowded and noisy and lots of people picnicking. No respect for people who want to relax there, e.g. in the Japanese garden. Many visits climb over barriers and stones, put their feet in the water. The ambience is ruined. The park itself is beautiful therefore 2 points. (Original) Absolute Katastrophe was die Besucher angeht.

The Planten un Blomen park was created on a part of the former Hamburg ramparts. The Planten un Blomen park  is located in the area of the former ramparts on the western border with Neustadt. The name is Low German and stands for "plants and flowers". It is around 47 Hectares and Dammtor Bahnhof is just beside park.

Had a great time at the park.Unfortunately, the weather was still transitioning to spring when I visited. This meant a lot of the trees were still without leaves. The park is still expanding and improving but it's apparent that the park is gorgeous during mid spring and summer. TLDR: The park was beautiful but came during the wrong season and while they were renovating.

I visited after a few years of not going ,I was astonished when I saw a lot of plant thriving. The layout was a stunning change to what I was used to . When I finally went there after a few years, I was astonished to see so many plants thriving. Lots of new construction sites and structures welcomed me when I arrived, indicating that the region is being improved and, perhaps, will look even better in the future. The building caused several sections to be blocked off, but it doesn't matter. There wasn't a lot of crowding, and the environment was pleasant and tranquil. This is location has a lovely atmosphere to enjoy anytime throughout the day.

A nice green get away, in the middle of Hamburg City. A huge and well maintained park, in which you can easily spend a couple of hours, just walking. The playground was amazing and thoroughly enjoyed by our daughter! And the entrance is free!

This place is really an urban oasis offering lots of cultural activities, one of the best playgrounds in the city (various areas, even something dedicated to the very little ones). What makes it really special compared to other city parks is the Japanese garden section offering a really nicely maintained area, all freely accessible for visitors.

Beautiful gardens in which you could spend hours. We went there twice during our trip because it is so big and gorgeous. We in particular appreciate the option to sit on the so many offered chairs by the canals ♥️

Lovely place with you guessed it... plants and flowers. Just a serene place for a walk. Highly recommend for any tourists who have 2 - 3 hours to kill. The water sports area with balloons is fun for kids, there are areas to sit down and have a nice coffee/ice cream on a hot sunny day. For me I was solo on the day so went to jungfersteig which was a 10 min bus ride away for an icecream by the lake.

Very beautiful place to visit in Hamburg. Has thousands of flowers blossoms. A wide variety pf plants and trees too. A very big Kids play area for fun ( all the ages) For every 300 meters you will found a Shop or ice cream parlor to buy snacks or meals. It is filled with sitting benches and chairs all around the facility. I would say a must go place in Hamburg. Also a great place for al the social media influencers.

I went there on winter and again in spring. It never disappoints. Kind of crowded, though it was a week day. Beautiful as ever. The tropical house is still close. A must if you visit Hamburg

Beautiful and cozy place for a visit on a nice spring or summer day. A place for a picnic, just some relaxation, to visit and look at the flowers or to do some games. There are some watergames available to do for both kids and adults. Restaurant available and also public toilets for a fee of €0,80.

Huge playground with loads of activities for the kids. Nice clean toilets and a small shop where you can buy, ice cream, coffee, beer and food, while not being super expensive

This expansive park offers ample space for a picnic, relaxation, or just finding a shady spot to wind down. The lush surroundings make it a perfect place for a leisurely stroll or escaping the urban hustle. However, it would have been great to see a designated area for exercise activities for those looking to get in a workout amidst nature. Overall, Planten un Blomen is a wonderful urban oasis that's almost perfect. Highly recommend for anyone looking to relax and enjoy some outdoor time.
