We went there a monday in deceber which was lovely and we almost had the entire park to ourselves. Looked at the feeding of the orangutans which was super fun and the caretakers were really nice. A lot of the animals were inside due to the cold weather and their indoors cages are not very fun and could use some modernisation. Also one thing that could use some upgrading is to make more of the signs and information in English. Overall a nice experience!

Es war dann mittlerweile aber so voll, dass es gar keinen Spaß mehr gemacht hat und man kaum noch was sehen konnte.

Diese Bewertung betrifft nur das Tropen-Aquarium. Das Tropen-Aquarium lässt sich separat buchen, ohne den Tierpark zu besuchen. Der Zugang ist am schnellsten von der U-Bahn Haltestelle oder dem Parkhaus erreichbar. Der Eintritt belief sich heute auf 25€ für eine erwachsene Person. Jacken und Taschen lassen sich im Eingangsbereich in Schließfächer verwahren. Wie aus Schwimmbädern bekannt lassen sich die Fächer mit einer 1 oder 2€ Münze freischalten, die man am Ende zurück bekommt. Im Inneren erlebt man dann einen sehr toll gestalteten Rundgang, der einen kaum merklich immer tiefer führt. Ich war nicht nur von den vielen Tieren begeistert, sonder auch sehr vom Aufbau begeistert. Die Gestaltung der Gehege und Aquarien ist so so, wie man es seit ewigen Zeiten aus dem Hause Hagenbeck kennt. Echt und Kopie der Bäume und Felsen gehend fließend ineinander über. Dadurch lassen sich die meisten Tiere auch sehr gut sehen. Danke Rückzugsort können die auch mal Pause machen😁 Der absolute Knaller ist das riesige, wirklich riesige Panorama-Aquarium, dass einem das Gefühl gibt, mitten im Meer zu sitzen. Visited the aquarium here. They provide free lockers to store your things in and have a range of animals that you can interact lively with as well as a large tank. The atmosphere is beautiful and during the weekdays it is not busy at all. Would definitely come back!

Wir sind konsequent den doppelten >> Pfeilen (Rundgang) gefolgt und siehe da, man kam zum Schluss im oberen Tierparkbereich vorbei, wo wir anfangs noch dachten „an den Bereich müssen wir zum Schluss noch denken“. Ein gut gelöstes Wegesystem, auch wenn man an der ein oder anderen Stelle mehrmals vorbei kommt. Personal Egal ob beim Imbissstand oder bei Fütterungen - das Personal wirkte gut gelaunt und sehr freundlich. Fütterung/Vorstellung Die Fütterungen bzw. Vorstellungen der Tiere wurden mit Mikrofone/Lautsprecher durchgeführt. So konnte man auch in den hinteren Reihen dem Tierpfleger gut folgen. Allgemein wurde viel zu den Tierarten und zu den einzelnen Charakteren der Tiere berichtet. Wir würden den Tierpark jederzeit wieder besuchen kommen.

Ein schöner Zoo, der alles bietet, was ein Zoo bieten sollte. Die Polarlandschaft ist besonders sehenswert. Allerdings ist der Zoo in Rostock oder Hannover noch beeindruckender, weshalb ich im Vergleich leider nicht vier Sterne geben kann.

I really recommend to go there if you are in Hamburg !

Fun for the whole family where you can spend hours wandering around trying to burn calories after eating way to much food. 😂 We searched for the red pandas for an hour until realising that they where hidden in their trees! The kids where a bit disappointed. But we enjoyed admiring the beautiful flowerbeds! I personally find that the food choice is more based on junk food but you don’t have to buy it. Bring your own sandwich or snack if you don’t like. Overall it is a great attraction to do during the summer holidays, you get to learn a lot about animals. There’s a great variety there. Would come back again next year.

Wonderful zoo! Visited it in winter and summer, both time - great (very interesting to see animals in different seasons). A lot of small birds and animals are walking free around the zoo. We visited it with a kid and it was really comfortable, there are lot of places to buy food and drinks (but for kids with allergies it's better to take something from home, cause there are fast food only, we took sandwiches from home and it was nice to have a lunch with a view on kangaroos), clean toilets and a big themed playground. In summer time zoo closes at 6, in winter time at 4. So check the time on the webside before!

The aquarium is well organized but quite small considering the price. We managed complete the round tour within 60 min (and we were quite slow). There are also a few view points where cpu can seat.

The tropical aquarium of the Hagenbeck zoo is a great place for kids and grown-ups alike. The place is built so that one feels to be taken to a different world, the tropics. There are very good game viewing opportunities and we saw crocodiles, sharks, snakes, small monkeys and many other animals. Also there is a well built-in flow so that the pace of new animals matches per well the mental capacity to see new game, IMHO. All in all a great place to visit for young and older!

Really awesome place for the whole family. Was a bit hesitant at first due to the ticket price. But once we got in I realized this place is a lot mor tham an acquarium. It's a tropical world to explore above ground, below ground, and through an immsginary submarine that ends with the most spectacular fish tank I've ever seen. It's a great adventure that will keep kids occupied fir hours learning about reptiles, insects, amphibians, and fish.

This is a zoo with a pulse best one I've ever been to you guys have thought of everything I loved the tropical fish and lovely welcome at reception well done.

There are a lot of different animals living in this interesting park. You are able to watch them eating, playing and sleeping. You can spend a nice time there with your family.

Although this is the much larger zoo here in Hamburg, for it's ticket price, it's quite underwhelming. Yes, it has a much larger range of animals compared to other zoos I've been to here. However, compared to Swarze Burge, children have almost no access to interact with animals. No petting zoo, and no feeding. But in the same city Wildpark Swarze Burge I can feed and pet the animals? Additionally, there were many animals advertised like the giraffe, but come to find out there not even there. Or the orangutan house was completely closed. The flyer, and their website states there are no penguins or elephants, but thankfully they were there. You would think someone in public relations could work on informing guest accurately. We did enjoy the arctic animal area, which has a great little tour. This place has some nice playgrounds, through out, and benches for eating. But again, they had many places roped off with no access for eating. Compared to others zoos that have convenient locations for eating, sitting or just taking a break. Overall, if you are going to charge me full prize there should be access to all areas, and viewing of all animals as advertised. There should be a discounted prize. Really don't know I am charged more here, but there are more restrictions than in other zoos in the same city. My advice is to save your money, and go to the smaller zoos in Hamburg for a better animal, and family experience.

The Aquarium at Hagenbeck is worth a visit for people of all ages. It's huge and so can easily spend few hours here...it's mostly fishes and reptiles here so if you are expecting any other species then will be disappointed

Beautiful zoo, lots to see and would highly recommend it as a day trip. I also would highly recommend the fish stand near the penguins. I go there every time I visit the zoo. Overall wonderful experiences always.

I've expected lil bit more for a big citys theme park but it's ok, a lot of space and animals, maybe not all the Species(rhino's, gorilla's, aren't there). The Aquarium is nice but mess there many species too.

A very good value for your money. Our children loved it. There are lots of different animals to see, a spectacular huge aquarium, crocodiles, rodents, birds flowers...etc. The toilets are clean and the food is also OK at the restaurant.

Very nice experience with a mix of large aquaria, reptile terraria and more! Great place for kids to learn about reefs, fish and snakes. Does not have much besides fish, like squids or other sea creatures.

Adult tickets for both the zoo and the aquarium are 40€, but really worth it. Took us around 5 hours to see the entire place, the animals seem to be treated really well 😊

There is wonderful Animals and Fish but it is so expensive you can finish ur Tour in 45 minutes

Totally worth it! It is indoors, well preserved and organized. My kids love it!

The ticket prices were pretty high for Hamburg, but it was totaly worth it. I would recommend this park for anyone who has the time to visit it. It took us around 3.5 hours to see all the animals in an average walking pace.

Some good things about this zoo are the newer areas and the fact that some animals are allowed to roam around the zoo. When we went it was too busy, so that took away from the overall experience. 4 out of 5 stars.

Great zoo! Big variety of animals, lots of them can be seen whithout barriers. Some animals roam freely in the general area. Managed to see the penguin and walrus feeding, very fun! Playgrounds for kids. Food is expensive and only wurst, you should bring snacks. Price range $$$ but i read on their website that it's privately owned and they don't receive subsidies from the municipality so the money goes to caring for the animals, the employees and the beautiful landscaping.

Loved it! One of the best zoos in Germany. Especially I liked the Ice-House with all the walrus, ses lions and pinguins. All animals look happy and sweet. Highly recommended for a visit whenever you are in Hamburg. Pf course there are planty of caffees, toilets and playgrounds.

One of the best Zoo you find in Europe 🇪🇺 8 acres or more with over 1400 animals throughout the park. Fantastic aquarium as a bonus future as well as additional cave tours to go too. Price on the higher end but still worth the money 💰.

Very nice Zoo park, have seen some new species not seen elsewhere before. It looks well kept, we had a good day out.

Really really expensive - €29 & I did it all in 4 hours. I didn't buy any food in there because it was extortionate as well. Over 70 different animals. It's flat so easily walked round (there's a cool place to climb up for a high vantage though). I particularly enjoyed the Ice World. I can really relate to those walruses 🤣 and the penguins are delightful. Not much is written in English though and I'd no internet for translating. The orangutans & otters together also captivated me for ages. An elephant touched my hand with her trunk 🐘😍 and the mandrill's bottom is like a beautiful 🌈

Ein sehr schöner Tierpark mit vielen tollen Tieren und Gehegen. Viele spannende Gänge die zu erkunden sind und viele verschiedene Tiere die zu finden sind. Es gibt wirklich viele Toiletten im ganzen Park - die auch gut gepflegt und sauber sind. Sehr schön angelegt und Preis-Leistung ist auch in Ordnung mit einer Familienkarte und dann noch als Kombiticket mit dem Tropen-Aquarium. Es war nicht sooo voll bzw hat es sich gut verlaufen und auch an den Aquarien hat es sich nicht so sehr gestaut. Ein tolles Erlebnis für Groß und Klein. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Wir waren gestern in diesem wunderschönen Tierpark und waren absolut begeistert. Überall freilaufende Tiere, jedes Gehege war gut einsehbar und das Eisland hat uns einfach umgehauen. Für das leibliche Wohl ist an jeder Ecke gesorgt. Ich kann jedem der in Hamburg ist nur einen Besuch im Tierpark Hagenbeck empfehlen. Einfach toll und wir kommen gerne wieder. LG aus Sachsen

Ein wirklich schöner gepflegter Tierpark. Haben online Tickets gekauft hatten also keine Wartezeit an der Kasse. Der Rundweg ist etwas verwirrend aber es geht. Wenn man schon mal da ist sollte man auch ins Tropen Aquarium das ist echt toll

Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert. Tolle Anlage. Man kann sich hier locker den ganzen Tag aufhalten, ohne das es langweilig wird. Relativ teurer Eintritt (€ 29,-- + € 25,-- für das Tropenaquarium) keine Ermäßigung mit der Hamburgcard. Aber es lohnt sich.

Despite it’s located within a city, it’s perfectly abstracted from the outside noise. It also has P+R (Park & Ride) nearby. Park is quite huge, we were not into seeing every type of animal, and with that, we spent around 4-5 hours with barely having any breaks. It’s good and quite chill Tierpark, expect lions, tigers and all the other cats sleeping whole day😅

Tolle Atmosphäre, schöner Tierpark. Breite Wege, man kann sehr gut die Tiere beobachten. Freundliche Mitarbeiter, auch die Tierpfleger sind super freundlich Das Tropen-Aquarium ist auch zu empfehlen, toller Aufbau und man ist echt entspannt, wenn man dort raus kommt. MEGA!!! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Auch, dass das parken sehr günstig war, ist zu erwähnen.

Es war einer super toller Tag. Ein Besuch lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Bringt Zeit mit. Wir haben aus zeitlichen Gründen nur den Park besucht und nicht das Tropen-Aquarium, aber trotzdem hat es sich gelohnt. Das Aquarium ist beim nächsten Mal dran.

Sehr schön gemacht überschaubar dementsprechend finden sich auch kleine Kinder gut zurecht. Das eismeer ist sehr schön und der kleine Eisbär mehr als Zuckersüß. Schade war nur , dass die Elefanten an dem Tag nur drinnen waren und auch nicht gefüttert werden konnten von Besuchern. Dennoch sehr zu empfehlen

Ein toller Tierpark. Tierpark ist natürlich immer ein Grundsatzthema, aber viele Gehege sind wirklich schön gestaltet. Besonders schön ist der große Spielplatz. Preise für Essen und Trinken haben ganz schön angezogen.

Ein wunderschöner Zoo. Man sollte sich einen Tag Zeit nehmen um ihn zu erkunden. Man hat genügend leckere Möglichkeiten immer mal eine Pause einzulegen. Große und sehr gepflegte Gehege für die Tiere. Mir persönlich gefällt er sogar besser als der Leipziger Zoo.

Einer der schönsten Zoos in Deutschland. Weitläufig, grün und wenn man das so sagen darf sehr schöne Gehege für die Tiere. Sehr beeindruckend ist das große Aquarium mit den Haien. Mit Sicherheit ein Highlight für die Stadt Hamburg. Mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet.

Wir waren im August 2023 mit unserem Enkelkind hier und haben 2 (1 Tag Tierpark, 1 Tag Aquarium) sehr schöne Tage hier verbracht. Es ist zwar alles nicht "ganz so groß" wie es im Fernsehen aussieht aber wir sind überzeugt, dass hier alles erdenklich gute für die vielfältige Tierwelt getan wird. Sehr schöne Anlage, viele Tiere und das Aquarium ist der Hammer 👍

Ein schöner Zoo, angenehme Größe, mit einem tollen Tierbestand. Hier trifft man nicht nur auf die üblichen Tierarten von Tierparks, sondern neben Elefanten auch auf Eisbären, Braunbären, Tigern, Löwen oder Leoparden, und natürlich viele mehr. Besonders faszinierend ist "Das Eismeer", in dem man auf zahlreiche Pinguin Arten trifft, und natürlich das große Aquarium, das hin bis zu Haien und Rochen wirklich viel bietet. Besonders die riesige Panoramascheibe mit Tribüne davor lädt ein, die Unterwasserwelt lange zu genießen. Das ganze hat aber auch seinen Preis: Parkgebühren und Eintritt sind für eine kleine Familie schon reichlich, und auch die Preise drinnen (5€ für einen Crepes mit Nutella sind krass) sind nicht gerade zurückhaltend. Der Spielplatz ist nett, aber man sieht ihm sein Alter schon an, wenngleich die Kinder viel Spaß haben. Die genannten Aspekte führen zu einem Stern Punktabzug.

Sehr schöner, weitläufig angelegter Tierpark, in dem man viel Zeit verbringen kann. Der Eintritt nur in den Park für einen Erwachsenen hat mit 29€ einen stolzen Preis. Es empfiehlt sich, Essen und Trinken mitzunehmen. Der Park macht viel für die Artenerhaltung. Traurig, dass das nötig ist. Leider scheint es auch hier so, dass die Großkatzen nicht so viel Platz haben.

Sehr schöner Tierpark. Wir hatten Glück das die Tiere recht aktiv waren und es so ein tolles Erlebnis war. Leider gab es durch den (absolut verständlichen) Streik ein paar Einschränkungen, sonst wären es 5 Sterne gewesen.

This is a really good zoo! My boyfriend and I try to visit zoos wherever we travel and this would be one of the best zoos we've been to! This zoo has a really interesting range of animals, some of which we've never seen before. The enclosures are mostly really big with naturalistic habitats for the animals in them, and are still good for viewing and spotting the animals. The polar world is particularly good, with really lovely habits for some seemingly very happy animals! I particularly love the free range animals of chickens/cockerels, Guineafowl, and Patagonian Cavy, and peacocks/peahens. It's really nice to have them running around you and playing in the open grass areas. There is a lot of greenery in between the enclosures and wide open spaces which makes for a lovely, peaceful environment! I will say that there isn't an obvious walking route around the zoo, there are lots of little paths here and there, which meant we did have to go back on ourselves multiple times to make sure we saw all of the animals. However, a positive of this would be that it may help to reduce a congestion of people. We went on a Wednesday and it was not very busy. There weren't any queues to get in or for any of the coffee and food places. We didn't go to the aquarium, it is quite pricey to buy a ticket for both the zoo and the aquarium so we decided to just go to the zoo.
