I saw the band Sleep play here, it was fantastic. The sound equipment and the acoustics were tremendous!

Great night for the concert of Karnivool and The Ocean. Sound and lights were amazing. No problem with the cloakroom (1.5e), bar available, everybody really respectful.

We came here for a weekend from London to see The Undertones. Great venue for the gig and at less than €30 for a ticket, good value. I wish we had more venues like this in London. The nearest I can think of is the 100 Club, but that does not have the stepped area for the audience, which means that everyone gets a good view.

Perfect place for concerts, but payment only with cash and very hot inside

A real cool music venue, lots of unique industrial character, its had many famous bands play here since 1977 including nirvana, the police sinead o connor and many more.

Very poor sounding venue. Not recommended for modern metal music, which requires clear acoustical reproduction in order to not end up in total mess. The venue needs either delay speaker fills or a lot of focus in acoustic treatment, perhaps both. For now, it was just garbage.

Excellent concert venue

a cult location small enough to enjoy an intimate experience, and large enough for dancing space. the acoustics leave room for improvement, but it is the atmosphere that counts

Always love seeing a good show here! We come here each year for Montreal around Christmas time and it's always an awesome event. You can see the artists from every inch of the location. Also I love that it has such an intimate atmosphere. I think there are no more than 300 people at this venue. I will come back 🎶

Seen project pitchfork on Saturday 8th October 2022, all staff are very good and friendly, had a few astra beers, sound and venue are great people off all heights can see, the after party and disco played alot of great music too, friendly environment, friendly people, if you want a great DARK night out in Hamburg visit this place 👍👍👍👍👍

Easy to reach due to its close proximity to the central train station in Hamburg with a wide variety of concerts, events and shows, the Markthalle perfectly adds to the cultural diversity of Germanys most famous northern city. With reasonable beverage prices and clean facilities, the mid range sized main hall is built with terraces not unlike an amphitheater, making it easy to enjoy the performances even if you're not the hight of a professional NBA player. In essence: if an Act you always wanted to see is booked there, one can rest assured the experience will not be tainted by bus/tram/subway nightmares, infested toilets and/or sight blocking back heads. Just relax and leave the rest to Hamburg baby! Hummel Hummel!

Awesome music venue

Crowded and hard to find a peaceful Cafe. But for shopping it's OK

Personally, I think the best music venue in town.

Really cool concert venue. The space was small enough to create a somewhat intimate atmosphere, but not too tight to make it claustrophobic. As for the music, that depends on the performer of the night of course. But in our case we had a GREAT time! :)

Great concert venue!

Amazing venue that is not too big or small - the layout of the floor allows everyone to see and enjoy. The band seen, Coheed and Cambria, sounded great. My only criticism is that the bar should have been set up and available for those with early entry.

One of my favourite venues anywhere. Good sound, stepped auditorium for good view. Like all German venues, good beer at good prices. Only complaint is possibly the access which involves going up a large metal staircase, which in the UK would be an accident waiting to happen. Luckily the Germans are responsible drinkers.

Great club! There are stairs on all sides of the club so no matter where you stand or how short you are, you will find a place to see everything.

The Markthalle is a very nice location for events such as concerts or stand-up comedy. Prices are moderate (or common for beer). The only thing that really bugged me multiple times was the chairs being quite uncomfortable.
