There are many reasons to love this place: It's free - you get to donate instead and feel mighty generous about it. Most of the park is accessible 24 hours a day. The animals are shy (those who would be in the wild, anyways. The elk keeps on being unbothered by humans...), which indicates to me that they are leading good and species-appropriate lives. The wonderful hiking routes around and through the area make for an excellent workout. I could go on... and might, after future visits!

Nice forest park with animals, good for walks - if you go from the train stop, it's about 20min uphill. Animals have large enclosures, look fine. There are two parts of the park on two sides of the road in the hill. Playgrounds for kids and toilettes too. Don't miss the Müssli Hüssli, the mouse house.- a unique experience!

Nice hike + wild animals. It's nice each animal has its own space which is not small (compared to classic zoo). Nice playground for kids (2 of them actually), plenty of areas for barbecue and woods are provided (bring paper /lighter / matches). You pay for parking (10 CHF) and then other things are free. Lots of parking space is available BTW. We went 2 days in a row. Park is closed by 16:10 (part where Elch and Fox are) and by 16:30 (part where restaurant/hotel are). I do think one can stay longer for grill and for restaurant / bar / hotel. I'd also expect playground would remain open, but this is based on my first visit when we stayed on playground until cca 16:45. P. S. Have coins with you for parking or get Park Pay application (I paid with latter without issues).

This wildlife park is an amazing place to visit, I was so amazed that it was free entry to look around the entire place. The animal enclosures were very well planned to make the animals feel like they are in the wild (lots of space to run, climb and forest areas within each enclosure) and the forests that the walking trails are in is so beautiful. The actual park is huge and is over both sides of the road. Overall it doesn’t feel anything like a zoo, just seeing animals in their natural habitat, the animals all look really well feed, the buildings are well-designed, there is lots of picnic areas, a fire pit stove to cook on, a gift shop and the cafe with delicious hot cooked food. If I lived in Switzerland I would come here very often!

Very nice animal park, free entrance (only the parking, 10.- for the day). Animals have large areas, but remain quite visible (usually...) Large and easy to walk alleys - but it is a hilly place. Playgrounds, restaurant. All perfect for a family afternoon - it can be a bit crowded on sunny Sundays...

Amazing hybrid between wild animal zoo and forest nature park with hiking trails. Can't believe something like this is free! Coming by car - you only have to pay 10 fr to park for the day in the lot. There is no hourly price, so be sure you make the most of the parking. Plenty of picnic and grill spots. Our favorite was the mouse house - mice running around the kitchen like Ratatouille! We even got to see the bears basking in the sun (and sniffing the pizza from across the pond;) Great for kids and families, even on a busy day, there is space for all.

Fun park to visit, plenty of animals, free (you only pay parking 10chf if you drive there). There are also park staff that walk around to answer questions. Best to go early or late in the day to get best chance of seeing some of the animals.

This is a really great Wildnispark! Free to get in, you only need to pay for parking which is great. Good restaurant and gift shop. Lots of European animals to see in beautiful and huge enclosures. Highly recommend!

Beautiful animals, nice place to walk. Extremely expensive parking, chf 10. you can walk with a dog there but half of the park would be closed for you then. Don’t expect to see all the animals, the territory is huge and we didn’t find anyone in many „cages“

Beautiful place to observe endangered European animals - lynx, brown bear, elks, wild cats, wild boars, buffaloes 🦬 etc. One can walk around the enclosures or see the animals from the panoramic platforms while they roam in their spaces. There is no entrance fee which makes this place accessible for everyone, and they also have a nice restaurant on site with some delicious snacks and refreshments.

This is just an amazing park for families living in and around the Zurich area. Entrance is free. And the facilities are amazing. There's a nice restaurant but it is pricey. There are amazing areas to sit and enjoy a little bite and right after the restaurant there is an open space to picnic and even barbecue. We have toddlers and they were a little to young to enjoy the trails but it was still nice. We'll definitely come again - especially when they're older to enjoy the green space and animals.

A great place to see animals. Reserve 10 CHF in coins for parking. Paid parking is allowed until 7 p.m. Overnight parking is prohibited. There is no entrance fee at the zoo. It was especially great to watch the lynx and bears. The rooms for the mice and rats were excellently executed.

Perfect weekend spot with family. Dogs welcome on leads which is brilliant!! Best visit early morning to see active animals. Late afternoon they’re snoozing 💤

We do have a really great time here. a wildpark that looks like a zoo and free?! Just wow. Our favorite the Red deers of course. in this park you can do a hiking, trekking and see the native animal of Switzerland in wilderness from up and close. There are clean public toilets for free availabe , a restaurant and a big parking lot.

This is a lovely open park for a lovely, quiet stroll with the kids and the dogs. The animals are not always easy to spot. But this is because it's pretty vast in order to give them as much space as possible.

Very nice wilderness park on the hills. The forest walk is quite pleasant. We see different kinds of animals almost every time we go there.

50% raise of price for parking (15 instead of 10 francs), which for a free animal park perhaps isn't that bad but very sudden. Also they renovated the small playground near the restaurant, removing half of it! Many enclosures are closed at the moment for renovations, as is the large playground. A pity for the kids who want to play.

Nice zoo. You pay for parking, but entrance is free. Depending on the route you take, you may be doing more walking than seeing animal enclosures, but it is a nice location, so the walk is nice in itself. The animals have quite some space, so you might not see all of them. But we saw enough that we were happy with our visit. Absolutely go have a look at the mouse house. Even though we saw wild boar, deer, and wolves, I think the mice were my favourite. A very original setup. There is a restaurant at which you can get drinks, pasta, flammkuchen and cake. Also a small shop that sells stuffed animals and carved birds and such.

It is a very nice place for families, the kids are very happy to see the bear, play at the playground and have the ice cream in the park restaurant.

Is a very cool open-air zoo, unfortunately, we could not see the bear and the lynx; the entrance is free, and it is ideal for leisurely walks. Parking is paid, 10 francs, and only accepts coins

I've been hiking and running through here, both sides are great. The less known side with the Bysons is nice though quite steep so difficult to get up with a buggy in tow. Its a local park for me and its a nice afternoon out.

I love the place, but you can pay the parking place only by twint or with coins (10chf). The credit card is out of order.

Beautiful.place not only for families with kids. Lots of animals in the wild of the forest. Plenty of space for picnics and BBQ! Just need to pay a fix parking fee which lasts for a full day and no other entrance tickets. Just on the outskirts of the city of Zurich.Excellent!

Nice park, lots of places to have a BBQ. And great that we could bring our dog on the walks around the park. There are some places in the park where dogs are not allowed, but there is more then enough trails left!

This park is amazing! There's free entrance and lots of cute animals! There was an abandoned house with mouses/rats in there and it was so much fun! Really recommend to go there.

Park where you can see animals while enjoying a walk in nature. The food in their restaurant is good too.

Best place to be in Zürich. Free visit the wild, see the animals, know more about them. Take your children to give them more knowledge. And look at the poor animals.

Really well made park considering it is free. Animals have lots of space yet we still saw pretty much all of them- wolves, bears, lynx were our highlights

  • 5/5 Chris L. 11 months ago on Google
This place is awesome, great for having a walk and observing animals, you have entertainment for hours there - way better than any zoo I have ever been to. The animals are allowed to live in their normal habitat and the enclosures seem very spacious. Entry is free but there are places where you can donate some money - which I would highly recommend. We were very surprised to be one of the few tourists there - we would have expected this to be a massive magnet for tourists... There is also a place where you are allowed to grill: Grills and wood is provided for you. If you want to do that though, I'd recommend to show up early - not sure if this is a "first come, first serve" thing or if you need to reserve a spot.

The park is big but not many animals like the Zoo but all the nature around. I recommend if you want to chilling out for Sunday

Nice place to spend time with family. Nature is beautiful, we were unable to see only linx and bear, other animals were at the eyesight, but overall the experience was good including nice grill area and playground for the children. Next time we will think of buying something like sausages for the grill. The reason I don't have photos, because I enjoyed time spending there.
