The worst medical experience in my life. Our small baby had severe inflammation and we waited for 7 hours to get treated in the emergency room! Then the incompetent staff sent us home as it's "nothing serious". However, week later it was so severe that we had to do urgent surgery! No empathy at all - either from doctor staff or from nurses. There was only one nurse which treated us with care, otherwise everything and everyone was so bad you can't imagine this happening in Switzerland, not in hell.

It’s difficult for me to believe that race was not among the triage factor at the emergency room as we were the only Asian that night and we were triaged as the last while my nephew (2.8yr) could not breath well that his oxygen saturation level dropped below 90. I visited the emergency room with my nephew and we waited almost 2 hours until nobody else was in the waiting room. My nephew was not among the most severe kids that arrived at the emergency that night but he has problems to breath. And there were many other kids with mild symptoms came after us but still got the doctor checkup earlier. I saw some of them leaving before we finally got called in, while my nephew had to stay in the inspection room until 9 in the morning because his oxygen saturation level dropped below 90 percent at some point. Also when I asked the nurse if we can get the checkup sooner as my nephew’s breaths stayed loud and tight, the nurse told me that she doesn’t speak English. But she just finished charging a guy his bill in English.

I have no word to thank all the amazing work of the medical staff of the Kinderspital of Zürich. Such a hard work, studies, lifestyle and they save lives of our kids! My 11 months baby Aiden got a very severe meningitis in December. We stayed one month between intensive care and inpatient room. THEY SAVE HIS LIFE! While I was powerless to help my baby survive. Then we spent two month in rehabilitation Zentrum. Despite the severity of sickness of my kid, the staff is super professional, always well-informed and I trust them fully. My life would have been a trauma without their knowledge and dedication to save my baby! I am deeply thankful 💘 There not words to share my gratitude ❤️ My baby is now 17 months and he has fully recovered no neurological damage so far. Life is back to normal and this is the most amazing thing in my life.

^Horrible and ^Racist frontline ^Nurse/receptionist experience. The nurse's name was ^Sandra. We were there on 2/21/2022 from 1:00 am to 5:30am before our daughter was seen. When I asked her why no one is even looking at my daughter after a very long wait, she said we have to speak German to be treated in Switzerland even though she speaks English. In addition, Even many children come later than us, they were treated first. We were the last ones after a long wait when we were even decided to leave the hospital. When we asked why, they said because other kids fit into more emergencies . Im not Doctor but as I have seen most of the children were similar cases. We have never had such a bad experience in Switzerland.and this is the first time that we are confronted with racism in Switzerland. and we felt like a broken healthcare system. which we have not seen in any other hospital in Switzerland.Such bad behave does not represent any Swiss healthcare system.

Been there with my kid for surgery. All went well, from the initial visits till the post-surgery activities. They postponed the surgery one time because of the large number of patients but is clearly written in the letter that this hospital needs to cope with critical cases!

The worst place for kids. The worst medical experiences in emergencies with my daughters in my entire life were here, and more were the tortures with their exams and they gave me NO solution after so much hours of waiting being emergencies. I had to go somewhere else private for better care and solution.

Such incompetent and careless doctors at the emergency, I have no words to describe my disappointment! They left a 22-month old child suffer with fever above 40.5 for 2 weeks, refusing to prescribe treatment, sending us back home with paracetamol and saying "you have to wait" when the results clearly showed she's got a bacterial infection which needs treatment with antibiotics. We went through so much frustration fighting for help and begging the doctors to do something, it was devastating to know there is nobody to rely on when your child is so severely ill. Never again going back to Kinderspital and I don't recommend anyone relies on any doctors there since a child's life means nothing to them!

This hospital is exceptional in every aspect and should be held as exemplary to all hospitals around the world. I am an American from NYC and my 6 month old came down with a fever of 103.9f while I was in Zurich touring, which prompted me to rush her to the hospital. The entire process was seamless. From the moment we walked in with our child everyone from the receptionist to the doctors were attentive. We were anxious not knowing what to expect but those fears quickly vanished when we were met by the highly professional staff at the front desk. They warned us it was full and wait would be longer then usual. We were in the waiting area of the ER for about 10 minute before being taken in and the entire time everyone was apologetic about the wait. The entire process took about 2 hours. The visit with test and all about 300 francs in the US without insurance an emergency room visit could run into the thousands. A special thank you to Dr. Munser for everything she did for us. Sincerely, Dr. Pablo Muriel, PhD

My experience with them was not great and was overcharged eight months later with a second invoice. But they canceled it after reaching out to them pointing out the mistake. My conclusion is that they are well prepared professionally, but invaded by a lot of patients, many with minor issues. If the problem is not major, it would be better to go first to a smaller and less crowded regional hospital. Also the prices could be a little smaller.

A shame, they check in and put my daughter in a separate hallway where you can't hear the hell calling. Next I am attended by a nurse with rude attitudes. Then I'm put in the corridors more than 1:30 waiting to be seen by a doctor. And I keep waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting.........................

After my daughter was born and started to form a lump on her head. After an MRI at Kinderspital, the doctor was convinced that the lump would not go away on its own. We decided to wait until after the holidays before any operation as she was only 6 months old. Over the course of the next couple of months the lump seemed to get smaller. We went back to the Kinderspital to discuss this with the doctor. He agreed that the lump seemed to be getting smaller, but suggested that perhaps it was going deeper and we still needed to decide if we wanted to operate. I had to suggest conducting an ultrasound to confirm his comment, which showed that it was not going deeper. His final comment was that we still needed to decide if we wanted to operate.?! Needless to say we did not operate, and within 6 more months the bump almost entirely disappeared on its own.

Horrible front nurse / reception experience. The two times we came we were out last in que waited 3-4 hrs before our daughter get seen. They kept putting new patients in front of her. When we asked why is that they said because other kids fit into more emergency cases. I am not a doctor but I can clearly see that other kids that went in al have minor injuries they can walk talk play run around. While our daughter hip is cut open with bleeding that continues on. The first time she had really had head fall injury. I am not sure how these two cases are being de-prioritized? Horrible won’t ever return here ever again.

Can't say anything about the hospital but the notfall part of it was not a good experience for my family, too long waiting (during which the baby was constantly crying) and no guidance in the end.

We came in the emergency for an emergency stool check for our 6 months daughter. (Pretty simple and regular check for babies) We arrived and checked-in at 13:00 at the emergency. The doctor saw our daughter at 16:00 o’clock. Still at 18:00 we are just waiting in the room without any information. We contacted twice the nurses and asked for the doctor or for a status update for how long will we be waiting and nothing… 5 hours and counting and no information from anyone… I wouldn’t mention the international triage / prioritisation system because it’s obvious that it’s not working! 1. Read your reviews in google (either you are understaffed, or the triage system is wrong or management doesn’t care!) 2. You are called emergency for a reason! 6hrs for an emergency treatment it’s not emergency 3. Babies and especially below 6 months are more critical than every other patient. Additionally, babies cannot withstand staying and waiting for 6 hours until someone remembers to check them 4.Most important of all! There is no information at all about the waiting time, how long will be waiting just simply no status update! We are just left waiting without information which is unacceptable and disrespect of our time!

(Translated by Google) I wanted information because my son fell off the sofa. For the consultation phone call you pay 3.50 .- / minute (on hold 8 cents) ???? You don't have to wonder why everyone runs to the hospital immediately if you make a counseling center so expensive. Instead of making them cheaper and clarifying so many questions and uncertainties to the parents. This would save us all unnecessary visits to the doctor and costs.

My son was having brain cancer and make all the treatment in Basel Kinder Spital 6 years ago. My son is there from Sunday 24 of October 2021 with fever, vomiting sensation , cold symptoms and they say Sunday that they will make an MRI today morning, Monday at 9am , they postponed the MRI to 5 o'clock today , then they postponed again to 7 or 8 pm they don't know sure when , was programed to have full anesthesia because he is 9 years old and he cannot stay still in a moving thing 30min , they canceled the anesthesia because they say that Doctor in charge with anesthesia will be not available because was there during the day , my son didn't eat nothing the whole day and they are waiting without even know when the MRI will take place . Is my first experience with Zürich Kinder Spital and the last , from now on I will go for everything in Kinder Spital Basel. Everything inside is very old , no toilets in the room, it's an very unpleasant surprises know how Kinder Spital treat their patients and what we received in Zürich Kinder Spital, think twice before going there. P.S.- after this review they call us from the hospital and they apologize ,they change the system for the children like my son and from now on the children like my son they have priority for MRI 👏👏👏

Both the emergency department and hospital stay for our daughter has been first class. All the nursing staff are extremely nice, friendly and caring for our daughter. The Hospital is extremely relaxed with a calm atmosphere making it the perfect place to make a recovery.

(Translated by Google) I was there last year with an abscess in my cheek, and it was really a relatively pleasant atmosphere, good food, great staff and I met someone who is very close to me today heute. Hahaha, and the trip with the laughing gas was a different one. Nor can one complain about the marvelous view one had from the window. What I didn't like was the syringes, the infusion and the nightly blood draw ... was kind of creepy. But it was really crazy to spend a week in a hospital where you could experience so much!

(Translated by Google) Somehow I have the feeling that everyone is so fixated on the coronavirus that one is no longer aware that other diseases can also be the cause. Was with my 20 month old son in the KiSpi on a very quiet evening, he had a temperature of 40 degrees and vomited for 3 days. In my opinion, he was only treated superficially and almost only to rule out the corona virus. So neither blood test nor urine test. When the fever did not go down the next day, I went to the children's performance in the evening, where a blood test was done with the result that my son had a bacterial urinary infection. I really find a very poor performance ... Also weder Bluttest noch Urintest.

We went to the ER with my 2 year old daughter 3 times before the doctors admitted her, once admitted she was placed in isolation without proper bathing facilities, she had contracted Norro virus and needed IV fluid via a drip because she could not keep anything inside we stayed for around 4 days, the cleaning staff were hesitant to clean our room and left used crockery and cutlery. I washed our used dishware and had to empty the laundry bag as the nursing staff did not do it. I washed my daughter in a small hand bowl as they could not provide a baby bath, we also saw around three doctors in the ward and three before admission including my daughters pediatrician who advised us to go to the ER. They could also not provide any cramping medicine and left my daughter in severe pain from stomach cramps, we also had to ask for anti vomit medicine everyday as they did not give it to prevent further dehydration.

I’ve been coming to this hospital for 10 years almost now but recently I’ve noticed a shift. The ER doctors don’t seem very competent especially since I had to take my son to another doctor after having been to the ER in order to get a proper diagnosis. I guess this is what the medical world has come to these days. Also my son’s specialist is currently harassing us and it is borderline creepy. Needless to say I will need to find another hospital for my son as I don’t trust what this specialist might do to my child.

(Translated by Google) Basically an important and good facility. The upper floors are probably also occupied with themselves. Statements such as: international standards, triage etc. are completely wrong. Unfortunately my daughter has managed to land four times in an emergency, not life-threatening. Waiting and accompanying times of five hours at best, eight hours at worst. Could it be that there is a fundamental miscalculation in the disposition? (at the expense of operational staff). In addition, tests were sometimes carried out in these cases, which have nothing to do with the actual health problem. (my wife works in medicine myself) Need for action !!

one minus star because Frau LANDOLT was very rude and disrespectful. I was waiting in the emergency room and my baby was sleeping and there were only mainly teenagers in the waiting room. She wanted to put a child film on the small TV and I asked her kindly that if she could leave it as my baby was sleeping and had to go through a tough morning due to an accident, plus, I felt others in the room would not mind it anyways (it being anyways a child film). She looked at me with a lot of disrespect and disregarded my concern and said “I am still going to put it on, if you don’t like it, you can go sit far away (pointing to the hallway)” whilst adding - sarcastic comment: “is it always so quiet in your home?”. The main complaint here is her extremely rude commentary and overall arrogant behavior which made my time in the notfall centre very uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hospital if it weren’t for the good and quick service from the Assistenzarzt Herr Rüegg. He was very professional.

Today I had to wait 50 min with my kid, who has a huge rush all over his body and was crying. I went to ask about the waiting time just to hear that I have to continue waiting, because they have have more urgent cases, with kids dying!... Ok, first is not my problem, its yours, otherwise I would have been a doctor. Second, its not my fault that you give such a bad service (yes, its a service because if I have to pay, im your client) and you dont care to have more personel to take care of all of us in a better way. And 3rd, that is not the way to answer to a father with a son in pain, he was hearing the conversation and was scared. So, please provide a better service. Avoid going there at all cost!!!!

(Translated by Google) We have been regularly cared for in the children's hospital for 6 years and are particularly grateful to the cardio team that our child is there. Unfortunately, I have noticed that in these 6 years the team in the reception is still unfriendly and very arrogant. No talk of empathy! It must be insanely difficult to read the number and press the labels. There is a foreign couple employed who have not yet learned to say "Grüezi" in these 6 years! The same thing with the dark-skinned lady who almost threw us out of the small reception cell years ago! The situation is not much better with the staff in the cafeteria (very bad German). As far as I am concerned, this staff did not deserve to look after our children and us parents in whatever way. It should be added that as parents we ourselves have a reason to migrate and both work in the healthcare sector. There are probably enough unemployed people at the RAV who would respect such a job more. Danke

(Translated by Google) You have to wait extremely long, even though you are in an emergency, imagine having a sick child with up to 3 hours of waiting time. But the staff were nice, that's something, they kept apologizing for the wrong organization (Original) Sie müssen extrem lang warten ,obwohl Im Notfall sind ,stellen Sie sich vor mit einen krankenenkind mit bis zu 3 Stunden Wartezeit hat. (Translated by Google) I was with my 2 year old son in the Kispi emergency room because he was hit by the bike. We were received in a friendly and professional manner. He was allowed to choose a toy right away and we hardly had to wait. He was well prepared for sewing on the head. Thanks to a local anesthetic using gel instead of sting and television, he did not need any further measures to sew it. Everything perfect. Really great considering how demanding it is to work with injured children and worse, their parents. Perhaps the "grumblers" should think about whether it is always necessary to go to the emergency room or whether the pediatrician might be enough. Then the waiting times are reduced and the staff is not so annoyed ...

(Translated by Google) We have been there a few times because of our daughter and each time we have had a very warm welcome. The doctors are very different, some more sensitive, others less. It's no different from other hospitals. Therefore 5 stars for the service. We have came with a 12 month daughter to the emergency with already diagnosed pneumonia, and with ready to apply antibiotics, previously given in permanence. Took 4h to look at the images and 7h to give the antibiotic to a child with 39,5 temp and saturation going down to 85. Staff would come only on request and clearly not prepared. It’s not that somebody was unprofessional it felt like they would need minimum twice the size of the staff to be able to deliver care with decent quality. Very sad picture… Fix it now before it will be too late for somebody.

😠 Canceled 1 week before the op. No reason. I had prepared everything, even booked a vacation and hotel in Zurich. Behavior like in kindergarten.
