Waited to long for this very disappointing meal × 3.Family of three - given three free desserts and only paid for drinks. Could not recommend on this occasion as all reasons for delay not warranted and very poor presentation and cooked food. Saturday night 18.30pm table 52.

First time visiting this wonderful place. It's got a lovely beer garden outside. Kids play area inside. Adult area with bar darts pool tables and plenty of televisions. Large dining area with separate area for kids and families. Large menu with plenty to choose from as well as a full carvery and kids menu. Great selection at the bar and staff are very friendly. Personally, I can't wait to visit again.

The atmosphere is good the staff friendly and helpfull . The carvery selection is good also. Turkey gammon beef etc The pub is clean but gets busy weekends. Better to book a table in ADVANCE. Quieter during week. Always warm inside and smells like of food when you walk in. Nice gently music plays. Always get asked if everything is satisfactory? Personal touch is good. The meat assistant was very polite and stated to come back if any of the food is not up to standard.. Excellent experience.

Brilliant food . Friendly and helpful staff. Carvery is amazing and beats other chain carveries for the price. Lots of lovely meat and veggies. Proper home made Yorkshire puddings too :)

A family group of us (6 adults 3 children)ate here on 21/07/22 the waitress was fantastic very helpful and polite. The food was terrible we had the fondue which was like jelly and the steak was chewy and overcooked, 3 people had the carvery all the veg was dry and/or overcooked the Yorkshire was like a big dough ball and they had finished eating by the time the pigs in blankets were done. I had bbq sauce dropped on my coat and all I was offered was some blue paper towel so surprisingly will not be returning the bill was £135 a total waste of money.

Had a good sausage sandwich, staff friendly and helpful. My son enjoyed the inside play area. Only note I have is the parking is 2 hours free so if you are going to be there for a while you have to remember to speak to a member of staff so they can take your car's registration number. This is sign posted before you enter the pub. I would say a good place to take young kids for a meet up with friends.

First visit and really liked our drinks and the service on a very hot day! Some good air conditioning and felt spacious. Not a day to opt for a roast dinner but the food looked very good.

Lovely place inside and outside good atmosphere and friendly staff it's just a shame the food wasn't quite as good as it should have been. I ordered a medium steak which to me should have been cooked the same all the way through slightly pink, unfortunately mine was pink in the middle ( medium) but brown ( well done) on the outside. Now maybe I'm being picky and that is what is called medium these days and the onion rings were missing. I still enjoyed the food it was just a little disappointing. I choose not to complain like I said maybe it's just me being picky I'd love to give it 5 stars but I can't for that reason. Sorry. GB Manchester.

I took my wife, daughter and two sisters for a meal on the 12/02/2022 at this pub. I booked our table via telephone as we were struggling to book it online. We booked for 17:15pm and arrived at 17:03pm, we left at 19:26pm. We spent £86.72 for our meals & drinks whilst in there. I have used this pub many times and have always had a good experience in there. However, today, 01/03/2022 I have received a £100.00 parking fine for staying too long in the pub!! I had no idea there was parking restrictions, what the time limit is and this is not mentioned on the website or when I booked the slot over the phone. I have tried calling the pub 5 times now and no one picks up? This is just not fare and I will now struggle to pay this "fine". There will no doubt be a sign that I did not see, as I was not looking for them, but why has this pub got these parking restrictions? I will keep trying the phone and hope someone picks up. I have since spoken to the pub and they will kindly cancel this fine on submission of receipts. Thank you.

Isn't the best place to eat. Gammon is ok but for £8.99 I'd expect a bigger portion size/plate. Pepsi was ok though

Nice little green king pub on the outskirts of Stafford town. A play area for the kids and plenty of parking. Star of the show here is the carvery which is very nicely prepared but they do offer a whole menu outside of the Carvery. There garlic bread starter is to die for and would recommend this to anyone

I am someone who doesn't usually go for a carvary due to finding them massively underwhelming. How ever after visiting Stafford hospital me and my wife went here for a treat after. It was simply delicious. The atmosphere was alive and every customer seemed happy. There was a lady who was serving the meat who was the most friendliest person I have ever met. She genuily was happy to serve people and the food was amazing. The food was hot and fresh, the meat was juicy and tender and the roasties were importantly very crispy. If we are ever in Stafford again we will surely be there. I must also add that this visit was a Sunday so extra points for amazing service on a manic day 😀

Matt and his team did an amazing job at arranging our group of childminders a visit with Santa, lunch and play at the Wacky. Everything was brilliant, the children had such a great time. Santa was fantastic and the children lived him. The food was great, the staff were lovely. Lovely morning making memories. Many thanks

Was in the area for Christmas shopping so dived in to get some breakfast. Nice atmosphere and was welcomed in by polite staff on the bar but that's where it took a turn. Ordered a breakfast with a pot of tea... £2.40 for a pot you can just about squeeze a cups worth out of. Shortly after it arrived I'd noticed the cup was quite grubby and hadn't been washed to a great incredibly well and then if that wasnt bad enough I peered into the milk jug only to find that it too was filthy and had bits floating in it. Peering into the pot it was absolutely disgusting and albeit slightly stained it clearly hadn't been washed in sometime as gently wiping my finger across it exposed the white surface. At this point the buyers remorse set in as we patiently waited on the food we had ordered. When it came out the bacon was burnt and the sausages undercooked, toast as hard bread left out for a week. It didn't get any better because while eating I crunched on what I thought was initially an egg shell, as I made a second chew I chipped my toothe in something really hard and brittle like hard plastic or glass. At that point I stopped and took my complaint to the duty manager. After a few short moments they arrived and guaranteed me that it wasn't glass and that it was the egg itself because it was cooked in such a way it forms a hard outer plastic type substance. I simply requested the money back for the food as peering into my partner's food hers was coated in mushrooms that were covered in dirt (she had the veggie breakfast). All in all it was a poor show and and the place is clearly lacking in the cleanliness department. As for the tooth, I'll reach out to Greene King because I'm not happy and the DMs assurances were I'll advised.

I only give reviews on places I've had either a terrible or wonderful experience at. On this occasion the experience is one I'd rather forget! Ordered a full English breakfast and the only thing cooked properly was the baked beans. The bacon and sausage looked like it had been re-cooked from two days before. The fried egg didn't have an ounce of moisture left in it other than the oil served up with it on the plate. Honestly the worst breakfast I've had for a very long time. My partner had some small plates. Crispy chilli beef was like chewing on a lump of coal and the sweetcorn ribs had more spice on them than a whole bottle of schartz's 5 spice. Service was nothing more than someone brining food to us, had to collect our own cutlery from a sideboard and then go looking in another drawer for some napkins. I am eating a meal... I need utensils to eat it with. How can you not supply these either before or with the meal. Appauling service and experience. How nothing has improved at this establishment over the last 5 years is beyond me. Obviously Greene King as a company don't care about their reputation as an eatery in Stafford!

The chips on my meal were cold and didn't taste good. I asked for some fresh, my meal was taken back and I'm pretty sure the same chips had been redipped. They still didn't taste good. I asked for fries instead which were actually hot and fresh. I didn't receive an apology. Think the oil needed changing or it was too hot.

Visited on 03/4/23. Busy but able to get a table without difficulty. The carvery was wonderful, the best I've ever had. A real effort was made to keep the vegetables edible but hot. There was a really good choice and everything tasted delicious. The meats on offer fell to bits as they were so tender, and a generous amount was offered by the server, who was cheerful and courteous at all times. Wish I lived nearby, I'd go back every week!

Came for a family meal while visiting family, 15 of us all together. Food was lovely and had a lovely evening drinking and catching up in the sun. Such a shame that when I returned home I received a 100 pound parking fine for staying too long? My auntie also received one. No staff made us aware there was a limit and didn't see any signs. A real blow after a lovely weekend.

Went on Father’s Day booked a table but called up to see if we could arrive earlier which they accommodated. Had a Carvery and was served by Maggie who was great. Lovely food. Many thanks!

If your visiting grab a carvery... I have never been disappointed. Easy to park, plenty of space inside for small and large groups... And if you want some quiet whilst you eat there's indoor and outdoor activities for the kiddoes

Visited today 7adults 3children , all had the carvery served by Maggie and very nice it was too my only criticism was the sprouts !! they were a bit rubbery ( I'm guessing frozen ) but the rest was very nice 👍 the children would give you 10 stars for the pudding of chocolate brownie and ice cream 😋 As it was a hot day I told the children they could have a slush but unfortunately it wasn't working ? Great play area inside and out .

Brilliant. We had a early Xmas family meal here and it was brilliant. Good range of different foods for all ages and vegetarians. The children were entertained because it has a small soft play inside. I had the carvery, food was tasty, service was quick and price was good, place was clean and décor was normal pub décor. Overall very good.

I have eaten here twice for lunch and had a good experience both times. Staff could only find two options suitable for a vegetarian and gluten-free diet (either a salad or a jacket potato) so it would be lovely if they considered adding more vegetarian gluten-free options to the menu. Otherwise friendly staff and nice food at affordable prices.

My family and I visited for a cavery. The pub was clean and the environment was calm. The food was lovely and Maggie (kitchen staff) was especially kind and helpful. She was extremely conscientious and happy to help with everything. Including information and advice surrounding my dietary requirements. Her pleasantness really made our visit.

Left an average review after our first visit here as we had a few issues. The manager kindly wrote to us though to put things right - which he did! Second visit was different thankfully, breakfast was lovely and really good value for money. Decor is lovely, lots of seating - only criticism would be that it isn't very warm so wrap up when you go 😉
