👍👍 One of the best pub experiences I’ve had in a long time, the staff were all very friendly. But the food (I went for the steak and ale pie) was outstanding! Mine and my best friends first time here tonight after looking around all week online to find a nice country pub for a catch up. What a place ! The staff are absolutely lovely. Food was amazing and very well priced. The beer garden and interior are both just stunning! We left feeling like we had been on a spa weekend. Loved it so much we are going back on Friday!

What a find the Fitzherbert Arms was! Lovely food, cooked very nicely; so nicely we went for all three courses! Perfect service with just the right amount of interaction. And a great atmosphere, which made our annual Cycli Christmas meal a real treat. Oh, and did I mention the lovely real ales on tap - Cheshire Plains Porter was the one to have!

Sublime food, I mean really fabulous. Attention to detail was astonishing. Everything about our dinner was perfect. This is our new favourite place, I can't believe I've not know about it til now.

I can't comment on the Fitzherbert Arms itself (but will definitely check it out now) but I can comment on how lovely their staff members are. I was stranded on a cold Staffordshire country road late last night after a hit and run with a truck. Whilst I was waiting for the recovery vehicle the manager from this pub who saw my hazard lights on stopped to check that I was OK and offered assistance. He was super kind, very friendly and the gesture was very much appreciated. He was definitely 'good people'. We need more people like this in the world - thank you!

The food is OK, not exceptional but, you have to fight the flies for first refusals on your food. Tables are sticky, I mean wax your arms sticky. The staff are generally amenable but on asking foe a table for 5, the first thing we were told was, "if your child's under 10 you need to leave by 7pm" not in a polite welcome to the Fitz way more hermit than Herbert. We will probably go again, but definitely accompanied with detol and fly spray.

Great place to eat, drink and relax, all accompanied with great food and a worthy Port selection (and I’m Portuguese). Family place, very welcoming.

We went for lunch yesterday and have been a few times. Never had a complaint about the food..however yesterday we were not 100% satisfied . Things like this happen on a very busy lunch service. The chef and a lovely lady went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I can not fault anybody who works/owns/runs the pub. We will be returning.

Been coming here for about a year in the week. Always got a great atmosphere and never super busy which is nice. The food is amazing, local sessional food which is priced well for the quality. The beer good too, there have there own beer which is priced good and taste amazing. Definitely will continue coming back here for some food and drinks.

We took my parents for the New Year Gala dinner and the team didn't fail to impress. Our first visit when travelling to the area, but it will not be the last!! The service on such a busy event was professional but still friendly and welcoming. As a vegetarian I was initially impressed by the options on the menu, which were as good as they sounded - properly planned vegetarian dishes, and not just altering a meat based dish; additional I'm unable to drink alcohol and for each part of the dinner that was alcohol based the team presented me with a lovely alternative - very impressive!! Thanks for a great evening!!

Great meal, great atmosphere we really enjoyed ourselves, we were a little nippy although there was a roaring fire we couldn’t really feel the benefits. Puddling slightly disappointing, rice pudding was a very small portion but great quality and the homemade Strawberry Jam was amazing, my wife also thought her Jam Roly-poly was a little dry and hard. Staff are amazing very friendly and professional. Despite the puddings we thought it was a lovely lunch and would go back. The picture attached is the sharing board for two and highly recommend.

I do love the Fitz, 95% of the time the food is good! We have had the odd meal that hasn’t been to our taste. We had curry from the menu that’s on this week, I didn’t really enjoy it. There was hardly any beef in it, it tasted like something I could make myself at home… I was quite disappointed, but generally every other visit has been good. I do find the menu very limited and quite basic with some off choices. For example, the sauce with the chicken supreme doesn’t really go. And there seems to be a lot of fish dishes. The staff are always friendly and welcoming! Definitely better for a mid week visit, Sundays are practically a no go due to the popularity.

Just on a drive back from the lakes district and looking for lunch…. Found this because it was not too far off from the M6. What a delight! Wonderful pub with extraordinary quality of food. We loved it! Make sure to make a stop if you can… really worth the time!

Food was exceptionally good, as was the ambience. Staff were friendly and helpful even though the place was packed and they were rushed off their feet. I was particularly impressed with how quickly our meals arrived, given how busy they were. Will definitely return - can't wait to try the Sunday roast!

Delightful country pub with fantastic atmosphere. Pleasant and most helpful staff. Food exceptional with generous portions, especially the Fitzherbert Meat Pie. But traditional Sunday Lunch leaves a lot to be desired. The meat was tough and chunky and tasteless. I hope they’ve changed their choice of meat supplier

The food here was stunning g and service was fab as well. My only complaint is that we took out 14 and 10 year old with us and there isn't much on the menu that kids are willing to eat but what they did have was lovely and they ate the lot.

Brilliant place to eat, had a lovely light lunch here, excellent value for the portion size, and really tasty. The decor was great, full of unique reclaimed and upcycled pieces which gave a really unique and interesting feel to it, great atmosphere, great friendly service. The view out the back would be absolutely stunning on a clear day and there is outdoor seating to make the most of it, we plan to return on a drier day!

Food was lovely and the staff were great. Prices were standard too. However they do not cater for children. They don't have high chairs and the " children's menu" doesn't seem official and just verbally given when you ask. We went for a birthday party. The staff were fantastic and we have a lovely time. I'm glad our children weren't any younger. (Youngest was 2).

Unplanned stopover nearby. Fitzherbert Arms was recommended to us by our host. Very dog friendly pub, food was plentiful and well presented. Prices reasonable too. Staff were friendly and welcoming, highly recommended 👍🏻

Fresh food, not prepacked, however not enough information on the menu, and staff not aware of allergies or ingredients, without asking the chef. Great atmosphere and traditional pub, pleasant staff. Would definitely try again as the polite feedback to the manager was appreciated.

Food was fantastic, weather was great so ate outside. We had fish and chips abs steak pie, both were exceptional. Dog friendly too, what more do you want.

We popped in for a quick lunch and totally fell in love! Such an interesting pub with a wide range if areas, from what seem to be an old smithy, to a cosy bar and a big open dining room. The bar was well stocked and the food was fabulous, we ate from the polite lunch menu and it was food to its word! The staff were super friendly and helpful and we will head back for a Sunday lunch sometime soon!

Our first visit to the Fitzherbert to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Went on the recommendation of a colleague and we weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made most welcome. Good choice of gins for my wife, and a good selection of very well kept ales for me. The food is exceptionally good and great value. The steak and ale pie is large and crammed full of tender pieces of steak. The lamb shoulder fell away from the bone and was very tasty. The final bill was extremely reasonable for the quality of drink, food and service we received. We'll definitely be back. Visit! You won't be disappointed.

Had a first date meal here over 2 years ago which was superb, but hadn't been since. Had the same sharer meal (with my partner of over 2 years now) and the quality was exactly the same! Lovely setting and staff. Excellent menu. Will not be leaving it so long before our next visit! Well done!

Awesome place and awesome food... Some of the snobby customers let it down especially the lady who was wagging her finger at the staff member because they couldn't have a certain table.. money doesn't buy class. Lovely seasonal foods and good drinks choice. Fantastic.

Cant beat the Fitz for that country pub atmosphere. Great good, great service and a decent range of beers. Outdoor area isn't the best but the inside is so nice you wont mind. Really enjoyable in winter months when they have the open fires going.

Beautiful food. Good quality. Generous portions. Cosy surroundings Fabulous for dog walkers. Staff extremely pleasant and helpful. A pleasurable Sunday afternoon lunch was enjoyed by all 5 of us.. Oooh and their white port is so refreshing, served in sparkling clean glasses 🥂

We popped in for tea and I had the special chicken katsu curry which was delicious. My daughter had the fish n chips which she said was lovely too and her boyfriend had the steak pie which he also said was lovely. Friendly service, lovely background live music too. Will definitely be back

Went for Sunday lunch here last Sunday, after hearing a lot of people rave about how good they were. I loved the whole setting of this pub, the staff were lovely, and I love that it's dog friendly. However, I can't say the Sunday lunch was anything to rave about. Selection of veg served was poor, the cauliflower cheese was awful! And the Yorkshire pudding was very burnt and black. Really disappointing when we came out for a treat and the price of the Sunday dinners isn't cheap. Would come again if I was passing but for drinks only.

One of the best meals I've had out in a long time! The chicken was cooked to perfection along with the rest of the meal. The special dessert (lemon cheesecake with mallow) was incredible! Huge credit to the chefs for the food and the waiting staff as the service was perfect.
