Beautiful Wetherspoons chain, excellent location and nice decor. Customer service is friendly and attentive, enjoyed my time here.

Very nice atmosphere, good food and all for s fraction of the price of most pubs in the area. Student friendly, staff were welcoming and a really good selection of food and drink. Would recommend a visit.

Great place for a breakfast and never ending coffee for around £6 all in. Their sausages have won awards, so it's not all generic low value food. Wetherspoons do what they do and they do it well. Their places are always clean and fresh and their food and drink are reasonably priced and pretty damn good for all of that. This particular Spoons is a pleasant enough place and with a reasonable sized upstairs. On this occasion we went for lunch on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. We found a table upstairs and used the app to order. Considering how busy they were, drinks were brought up fairly promptly and the food followed shortly afterwards and was very tasty. Their decaf coffee is the tastiest and smoothest, I have had anywhere in the world. Enjoy your visit, fairly responsibly! We had a spicy meat feast pizza £11 which was lush, 2 tasty southern fried chicken with Chipotle mayo wraps £6.50 each with an alcoholic drink and a chicken strips burger £3. The staff were great and extremely helpful.

We are now eating in this pub and I felt compelled to write this review straight away. The food was perfectly cooked and extremely fast to come out of the kitchen, and this is not always the case with Weatherpoons although Wetherpoons are always great value and I've been to loads of them. However, the staff here really deserve a special mention. I don't recollect the last time I experienced such helpful, efficient and friendly staff anywhere. They are so over the too helpful that you wonder if there is a film crew somewhere hidden and filming a documentary. The three guys upstairs where we are sitting are running around flat out to ensure our large party of 17 people have everything we need. Astonishing level of service fit a pub and the manager deserved a medal for picking such great staff. Well done!

Honestly, £6.90 for a decent chicken wrap, chips/salad and a pint, you cannot go wrong! Plenty of well priced options and always a table available around lunch time.

We where disappointed with the food. The steak was meant to be medium but was overcooked.it was also tasteless.to be fair on them , they cooked another one but although cooked ok it was not a patch on some other weatherspoons as it was also tasteless in fact it didn't even taste like steak. On a brighter side the staff where very good.

The food and hot drinks were cold, tea is disgusting, latte couldn't get, the orange juice was okay. waitress was polite, the only good thing was when we left. The whole experience not to be repeated.

Love this spoons, always come here after work with coworkers or just with a mate to get a good drink and sometimes some food for the price, it goes beyond value. staff are always lovely and try to get with you as quick as they can during the rush.

Good atmosphere for a Wetherspoon, security are obnoxiously rude and over the top. Staff were friendly but didn't know how to waitress. Food should be given out to a table all at once, not bits at a time.

Had a good night but couldnt get a cab home. Casey and another member of staff - shorter with long dark hair sorted is a cab and were so helpful and friendly- thank you.

me and my friends came here for breakfast, it was completely dead we were one of the only table out of 4. it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out which wouldn’t have been a problem expect we were missing half of the breakfasts on each of the plates. the service was dreadful i do not recommend coming here

The food is usually ok for the price, I recently had breakfast there and it was better than ever. The service also improved, more professional staff this time. I recommend the breakfast options, also the avocado muffin is absolutely yummy! Keep up the good work!

Our office was shut for a deep clean, we had nowhere to go. Super Staines Spoons to the rescue! I had a breakfast wrap and my comrades had some of the other breakfast items on offer. What a way to start the day, the staff were also mega legit.

I have avoided this spoons for a while as have had heard people saying it was a bit rough. We came here in a Sunday afternoon and had a lovely meal. The staff were really friendly and there was plenty of seating. There was the normal great menu with loads of choice. The food was well cooked and came quickly.

Great beer and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed resting my "weary bones" in the beer garden, in the sunshine, with a fruity bitter in order to fortify myself for the next adventure. Really friendly staff who just want you to relax and enjoy. I'll certainly call back the next time in this way

Average weatherspoons pub. Staff quality is pretty poor considering the size of the establishment, the food is actually OK, but, the burgers are very poor, the pizzas are great and the breakfasts are alright but a bit dry. Overall its an OK pub.

Nice pub, good atmosphere, visited with a mate when we went to Thorpe Park. Had the fish and chips. Fish was a bit watery but ample chips. Hence the 4 star. If we visit again and I try something else, may push it to 5 stars.

Finished up in JD's after a meal out. Didn't have to wait for a seated area, busy and lots of customers. I have to say cheapest pint of Guinness I have seen for a while. But where can I buy Guinness Zero. Not seen it on commercial sale anywhere.

Absolutely disgusting service, very unprofessional interaction with staff. I did not expect such poor customer service. I frequently visit this chain restaurant/pub and never have I been treated in this manner. The manager whom I expected better from did not apologise, when I expressed my disappointment with the service and poor customer experience. Following this interaction. I consulted with my colleagues to identify whether it was something we did to deem such treatment. Everything was a problem the food was delivered late. The dessert was sent before the meal even thou we asked for it later. Items from original food order arrived 20 minutes later than it should which should have been included with the main meal. Then it was just dropped on the table with out an apology and ran off.

Been going here for years but the food was to say the least,questionable! The plates turned up with the cold rice turned straight out of the packet cold and the garlic dip swimming in some kind of liquid not very appetising at all.

honestly rotten piece of pizza i dont know why i came here i was just comjng for a few drinks and now i have eaten the most rotten pizza in my life i would rather scrape my balls along glass that eat this thing

I had a fantastic time at The George - JD Wetherspoon with my friends. The atmosphere was lively, the service was friendly, and the selection of beer was excellent. The pub's cozy, typical English style ambiance made the experience even more enjoyable.

Visited The George on The 2nd December, we have been here before but this time very dissapointing, it was freezing outside and ordererd a hot meal , but when it arrived The chicken burger was cold and luke warm chips , !!! Took it to the bar to complain , it was taken away after hearing my complaint, i then waited more then 10 minutes for it to return after my partner had almost finished his meal , with no Apology from The waiting staff , after all this it was still barely warm , i could not eat it and just wanted to then leave !!! Will not bé returning !!

I have used the George for many years. The real ales are kept very well and the staff are very pleasant. It can get very busy and noisy. Food is hardly haute cuisine, but good value and there is plenty of choice.

Amazing food. Amazing staff. Spacious pub with lot of natural light.

As with all weatherspoons, the food was good, the choice of ales even better. The only doen side was the first drink order, took its time before it got to our table. I would suggest ordering your first drink at the bar before sitting down to order your food.

I went to the pub this evening. When I arrived the beer I wanted wasn't on. Also the pump clips weren't turned round when more beers I wanted weren't on. They should always turn the pump clips round if the beers aren't on. When I told one of the staff he was quite rude. This is not how to run a pub. But on the plus side the beers I had were in good nick.

They made a mistake with my order, but I was flexible and in return I was rewarded was an absolutely fantastic lunch and wonderful service. The staff were excellent and I'm going back.

Me and my work colleagues came here for a couple of drinks because someone we was working with was leaving. We gave me a loud cheers and the Barman Shouted at all of us. Then got Sercurity to get us all to leave for no reason. Very Unprofessional, definitely won't be coming Back

It's a weatherspoons... beer and alcohol great and cheap. Food is fast and usually OK. Last two curries, the Naan bread was a bit like cardboard... cheap is one thing, but no need for that :-)

It's quite a lively place (like any wetherspoon really) with a good selection of beer and ale. It's probably one of the cheapest places to have a drink in the UK so please bear that in mind. Food looks ok but steak was pretty awful. Still, can't expect a top steak for under £10 including a drink!

An oasis in this 40° heatwave. Delicious 😋 and refreshing drinks. No air con, but getting out of the sun was life saving. Well done to all peeps everywhere having to work today without air con. 👏 😇😇😇

A Friday night so very busy, lots of young people. Long wait for food, staff serving were running around didnt know table numbers and were offering food to the wrong tables. When ours did arrive it was very dry but tasted ok.

Covid arrangements well monitored . The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The food was nicely presented and hot so enjoyed. As usual it was good value.

Food was just OK. No butter served with the toast and the eggs were overcooked. Usually a better experience but for the last couple of visits the standard of food have fallen.

Crazy cheap, good quality ales. Great service. Still have my reservations as to the fair trade of the whole operation but staff all seemed cheerful.

It's fine typical spoons.not so busy on Friday afternoon.
