Not the best food eaten. Firstly not even worth £40. This is a complete rip off, the food looked like it was cooked by a uni student honestly. Secondly one of the meals was missing the side of peas.. Thirdly, it wasn't even warm? This is microwave food, fair enough that's obvious and fine to have, but it's common sense to make sure it's at least hot! Would not come back again and not recommend.

Not a place for good food. Nice view for a drink but food is terrible. I ordered smothered chicken the bacon tasted bad like it was out if date. Chips were edible and onion rings. My husband had fishcake wrap. The chips had hair in it had to get it changed which put us off our food. The waitress kept petting the dog near us. Was concerned about cleanliness and hygiene. Would not eat here again which is a shame location and views are great. Need a better chef and good staff.

I have always liked the Slug and Lettuce venues, the one in Staines is great and well worth the visit. I understand that new GM is making some good changes for the better, which will be welcomed by customers and staff. Keep up the good work and well done, I will enjoy coming back again

Absolutely appalling customer service from both bar man and bar lady this afternoon. Firstly I Was told only the same cocktail can be ordered, which it doesn’t state in the menu. Then I got served 4 cocktails in dirty glasses, asked for a clean glass and got told it was the dish washer, May I suggest you try using a clean cloth to dry your glasses in the future.I would also like to suggest possibly smiling even if for a brief moment as that may make your customers feel more comfortable.

Nice large pub restaurant with alot of outside seating next to the Thames in Staines. Cocktails are amazing too! There is alot to choose from and reasonably priced with plenty of offers.

They do great tasting cocktails, great price at 2-1. Roughly around £8-£12 for two cocktails. Music past 8/9pm is great, only downfall is some of their food.

Pretty jive place with good food and nice drinks. Worth the money and the time - especially good if you just need a short break, want to eat something without being too filled up. You can pay cash or by card.

always slow service and terrible food. this was a ‘halloumi’ burger, literally grated raw halloumi onto the top and called it a day. only positive is that it’s on the river

The location of this pub is fabulous right next to the Thames by Staines Bridge. The tables outside are very sunny when the weather is good. This is a great place for us to visit as we live locally but at least half of the times we visited in the last 6 months the wait times were so bad that we had to give up and go elsewhere. Yesterday it was a sunny Bank Holiday so the pub was busy. They were short staffed, again! and so I waited for ages at the bar to be served. The reason given was that there was only one card reader working. The guy serving me had to wash 2 glasses before he could pour our drinks, the tables were left piled high with dirty plates and glasses, the floor in front of the bar was very sticky under foot and the ladies toilets were filthy. What a disappointment! Again !!!

Had dinner there last night. It was getting busy and weather was amazing. My family and friends had a great meal and the staff were amazing. Polite and courteous is all anyone could ask for. Would defo call in again.

Been here plenty of times, security are always Bon point. Funny and friendly but also step into situations when needed. Drinks are great music is great. Good vibes all round

Went for lunch with my fruend. Ordered fish and chips. When i got the order i ask to get the lemon for the fish just to be told we don’t have we finished lemons at 12 am when they just open. Also the quality of the food was really bad. Fish was full of oil , chips same and the rocket old

I did the bottomless brunch with my friends and had the most amazing night! Kayley was amazing!! her customer service skill are incredible! She always checked up on us to give us more drinks and made sure we were having an amazing night! ❤️ I really recommend!!

Had a great evening for my daughter’s birthday. We had the bottomless brunch, the food was great and the selection of drinks was amazing. Our waitress Maddie was very attentive & friendly and we’ll definitely be back!

Went for bottomless brunch. Had the most amazing time. We were served by Thalia who made the whole experience 10 times better. She was so friendly and chatty and also made sure that our glasses were never empty. Perfect customer service. Had the waffles and eggs which were incredible. Would highly recommend

Absolutely amazing experience at the Slug today. Mary was fantastic. she kept the drinks flowing. The service was so good. She was so friendly & looked after our table so well. Nothing was too much for her. It’s our 2d bottomless brick here & it’s so good will certainly be back. Thank you Mary for a great experience. We shall be back.

Amazing little bar, great atmosphere and amazing selection of drinks. 2 for 1 on cocktails and great food. DJ play some lovely tunes and great for party and dancing. We visit here regularly.

Great vibe, great food, great service! Dina, Elizabeth and Eleanor have been so accommodating throughout the evening. A DJ has just arrived and now it looks as though our “couple of quiet cocktails and dinner” have turned into a night out out! 😜

Came across this pub on a dog walk along the river so stopped for a spot of lunch and sat outside. Great service and had a lovely chicken, avocado and blt wrap with chips for 7.99. Great price for our meal. Was delicious. Would definitely recommend . Didnt go inside though so cannot comment on that. The dogs were even given a bowl of water.

I had 4 persons worth of drinks and the service was ideal. Never felt like I was.aiting and ways got served on time. Excellent time put with friends at a good price.

S&L Staines is beautifully located by the River Thames. They have a lovely ambiance while you sip on some cocktails with amazing deals. The waiters are friendly too. However, the drinks ordered are always a bit delayed and the security staff is very rude. He will always cut you off and not want to accommodate you stating that they are full. However, you can clearly see that there are ample of vacant seating available. And this has happened to us a couple of times.

The service was slow. My friend's cocktails arrived with multiple dead ants in each drink, and rather than apologising when I went to show them the drinks, they simply asked me to sit back down and that they'll make the drinks again. The food wasn't very good and the portions were much smaller than expected. I won't be going again and I recommend no one else does either. (This was in August 2021)

Saturday night was a fantastic night all staff were brilliant but big thank you to the little white girl with brown curly hair, I cannot remember her name I think it began with an F or a S? She was fantastic absolutely delighted to have met her!!!! She gave brilliant service and made our night stress free, she went above and beyond Thank you all so much I’ll defo be returning next weekend☺️

WARNING! The till prices were 50p greater than the menu prices on each of the 2 mains I had. Also, one of the dishes came with chips, the person serving asked if I wanted chips, fries of sweet potato chips, I opted for sweet potato chips and was charged extra. I spoke to the manager, although she was unable to override the till set prices, she did however refund the extra I was charged for sweet potatoes. In her favour, to make amends for the overcharge she did offer complementary desserts. I wonder how many people have been overcharged and not realised?

Great to sit outdoors in the sun during afternoon. Nice atmosphere and staff only issue is that it tastes like all the lines need cleaning, literally every time I've been in. Would go back if they clean the lines properly.

My flight got in late so I was desperate for an open kitchen on a Wednesday night at 9:50. Found my way to Slug & Lettuce and was so thankful that they were happy to make me wings and chips 10 minutes prior to closing. The staff behind the bar was welcoming and helpful to a visiting American just trying to eat. Not to mention…the food was great as well! Thank you so much.

Generally a nice place to relax by the river, good food and drinks. Although on our visit yesterday afternoon, we were really unimpressed at the bar tender as he took it upon himself to apply a service charge of £2 to our bill before asking us to tap for payment! As a customer it’s our decision on when to tip, especially when we’re being served at the bar! We didn’t say anything because the bar was busy and we didn’t want to cause a scene but please don’t ever do that again, next time we will make an official complaint!!

Lovely place for after work drinks right by the river. The cocktails were refreshing, and the food was delicious. The bar tender who was serving us, Mary, was very polite and pleasant to talk to (she complimented my shirt!), and provided us with great customer service, and she made me laugh a few times too. I had an excellent time, can't wait to go again!

Wasn't very busy when we visited so lacked atmosphere but the location was good, right on the river by Staines Bridge. Nice & clean with plenty of bar staff. Toilets clean too Seating outside for when the weather is good. Would definitely go back for more cocktails & drinks 😊

Riverside. Outdoor seating. Zero air con. Limited menu due to being too hot in the kitchen. 😅 on the plus side....chilled refreshments. 🍹🍻🧊🍹I hope this doesn't come across as negative. The air con isn't on in many pubs. And I can understand why kitchens reduce the menu during extreme hot weather. Its a good place and a good location next to the river. We moored our boat overnight and it was quiet and we felt safe.

My daughter had the vegan burger which she said was nice. I had the fish and chips which was not so nice. The fish was dry and the batter was not light and crispy which I would expect. Lovely setting by the river and the service was good and I enjoyed my glass of wine.
