We spent the weekend in CT for a small getaway and we are so happy we found this place! The bar was pretty full when we got there, but they have a section on the complete other side with booth and table seating. It was nice, because it was quiet and my boyfriend and I could talk while we drank. The service was also amazing. We had a server named Tim and he was extremely attentive but also quite personable. Overall, this was a great experience. Drinks were well made, food was delicious and fairly priced and the service was both friendly and efficient. Will absolutely be returning when we take our next trip to CT.

We loved it here. Burger was spot on. Got there around 330 on Sunday and sat in the bar area. They were short staffed so the bartender doubled as a waiter and absolutely crushed it. We’re pretty low-maintenance patrons but he was attentive enough where if we needed anything he would have handled it. Good on-tap selection, separate area if you’d rather sit in a dining area, and good outside patio area with ping pong and the ring game! Definitely coming back

Nice local bar. Only real dart board in Stamford. Guinness is served cold but a little expensive. The burgers are so so good and the fries came out perfect. Beer prices are a little high but worth it for the nice staff and good atmosphere. Nice amount of TVs in the bar area. Good music.

Do yourself a favor and just go there.... if you haven't been, you're seriously missing out. Get the wings- they are LITERALLY. THE. BEST. WINGS. in Stamford or quite possibly EVER. If you go here and don't like their wings... then you actually just don't like wings and should stop eating them. Burgers are amazing, onion rings are fire, fries are great. Defiantly a locals spot. Outdoor seating available. TVs for games. I'm not sure how they don't have at-least a 5 star for reviews because this place slaps... Actually I do, it's most likely due to the service. Some of the bartenders seem to consistently have an attitude and act like 1 of 2 things: 1) they hate their job or 2) they just hate you. Either or.... it doesn't really bother our group as we're too busy inhaling their underrated next level food and knocking back a few drinks. Honestly for the type of local watering hole that it is, the grumpy bartender is part of the charm! Enjoy!

This place denies service to the disabled and handicapped. My family member attempted to eat outdoors with a licensed service animal and were resolutely denied entry which is against the law and violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. The manager told my family member this is a private establishment we can do what we want. The treatment of my family member was despicable and I suggest you find another establishment to enjoy a meal at.

My friend walked in holding a drink from a different venue. When the owner realized, he confiscated it and poured it out. Then with a genuine smile, he offered my friend a free cold glass of water. He said to my friend “I am a man not a monster.”

My coworkers and I decided to try something new and saw that the hours were until 2am tonight so decided to come here. We automatically were ID and the bartender took our IDs which wasn’t’t the issue but all the way to the back office to verify our age, when he decided to return from the back office he gave a very bad excuse about one of my coworkers having a out of state ID and that I had a local learners permit that he couldn’t accept it. I work at a sports bar where ID is required by the state and we would have accepted varies IDs long as it’s valid so I strongly believe it was a line of discrimination here and that was him politely saying our service is not welcomed we will not be returning. I am writing this review only because I want others locals and out of state individuals to know how they operate, it’s very unacceptable and quiet frankly unethical.

Murphys is the best bar in Stamford and quite possibly the world. All their food is amazing with the burgers, wings and Chili being the standouts. Everything else is also very good as well! They also have the best staff who will make you feel very at home. Tim, Dan, Tony and Vince are all great and super friendly. Finally the atmosphere is great as it’s a classic Irish Pub. They also have a bunch of games, such as Golden Tee and darts. I highly recommend going to Murphys for any occasion!

Best bar in Stamford! Friendly staff, great selection, underrated food (really good wings!). Jukebox you can control from your phone, dart boards, Murphy's has it all. We've tried all the bars around Stamford and always find ourselves coming back to Murphy's.

AVOID HAVING THE GUINNESS BEEF STEW. It was the WORST slop I have ever eaten take it from a cook here. Was a small bowl of broth with no veggies or meat @ $14.00 they open up a can of cheap soup in my opinion. Stew should be thick with tons of meat & veggies. Oh by way DO NOT order Fish n Chips @ $18.00 both my husband & daughter had which was Frozen box fish fried up. Can't post unless I give it a star it was a horrible meal & experience at $100.00 (add 3 drinks) &no food for a child

The place is chill when the younger bar tenders are there I noticed the older guy is clearly racist. He treats certain people differently. I don't think he should be doing this kind of job if he's not ok with other races

I know I am super late writing this review but, after reading a customer's comment on how she was denied service due to a handicapped family member, I WAS NOT AT ALL SURPRISED and couldn't resist sharing my unfortunate experience at Murphy's. I went to this establishment on Cinco De Mayo, I'd say around 11:15pm (I work in emergency services so I got out late) to grab a quick drink with a co-worker. Upon asking for a Long Island Iced Tea I was yelled at by the owner for making such a request and was told "how dare I make such a request and during last call" (btw I didn't know it was last call, as I have never been here before). He then instructed me to get out of his bar and added that, 'it was his bar and that he could serve or not serve whomever he wants.' He then proceeded to tell me to "go down the street for a drink." REALLY??? This is how you treat your customers and potential customer's? I was so shocked that a bar owner (The owner of a rundown gross one at that) would deny service to a customer for simply ordering a Long Island Iced Tea. Oh well, I guess there truly is a first time for everything. Needless to say, this was my first and last time at this place. I am shocked to see the place has a greater than 4 star rating. but then again, it is either staff writing the reviews for a review boost or, 21 year-old customers who wrote the reviews in exchange for free drinks.

Avoid the fried wings at all costs. The grilled jumbo wings are good if you like charcoal grilled wings. The fried wings though had no meat because each wing consisted of just gelatinous fat. I was actually amazed by how much fat was on thr wings with little to no chicken. Some of them had no meat at all, just fat. I couldn't finish one wing and I'm far from a picky eater.

Irish pub decor but American bar food menu. The food is good. I had spinach and artichoke dip with chips, Garlic parmesan wings (think wing dings if that term means anything to you) but fried perfectly and flavorful and Shrimp scampi Flatbread was also tasty. Indoor seating dining room, semi separate bar area and outdoor seating as well. A restaurant with a parking lot in downtown Stamford is a rare find!

The food is amazing here and the service is one of a kind. I strongly recommend trying them out when you have a chance. They have a wonderful menu and the prices are very reasonable too.

We sat on the covered patio and the music was good and not too loud; we were able to have a conversation without yelling or talking really loud. The bartender waited on us timely even though he was the only one there. The burgers were amazing as was my onion rings and beer. This was my last night in Stamford after moving there over 3 years ago and I wish I'd found Murphys and tried it sooner. It's not on the main street of Bedford so to me it's a hidden gem. Definitely will visit again if I'm back for business.

Been working around the corner for a year and a half now and just found this place today. Most certainly has a great burger and bartender John was a delight. Might have to make it a regular lunch thing for Fridays. Enjoy!
