Not really for adults. When was the last time you were at the Stamford nature center? Maybe as a child? It’s got a cool old mansion with an art gallery, sculptures outside, an adjacent Full farm with petting, a natural preserve watershed with trails and elevated deck, and a little bit of art and a lot of basic science. They also have a brand new “barn” area w patio that opened November 2018 for wedding ceremonies - it is very nice. and they are building a full planetarium and observatory over the next few years! Disabled accessible, family friendly. No pets. But glad I came it’s very pretty today! Will come again. Plenty of donations. Snack food at gift shop and food trucks on site. Would give 5 stars if more epic scenery for adult hikes. Great for kids. Great for indoor and outdoor events. Good for weddings.

Reallllly awesome place for kids and adults alike. Beautiful grounds and my son pet a baby goat, a Llama and a horse here! There is also an amazing otter that they feed every day and I recommend bringing your kid to watch the show!

My experience was sad, I didn’t really like to see those animals having such a boring time… goats love jumping on benches, have obstacles, they are very playful! One of the black and white oxen was sick or in pain he couldn’t even walk and had foam in his mouth, there was one old goat with 3 horns that couldn’t lift his head because of the heavy condition. I don’t think they love animals…

I really enjoyed the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. The Bendel Museum was very good. The Patricia Laspino exhibit was very interesting. Her artwork was great and very vibrant. I also liked all of the farm animals and the nature trails.

My visit to the Stamford Nature Center was truly great. The first thing that struck me was the exquisite beauty of the location. The center is nestled in a serene and picturesque setting that exudes tranquility. The well-maintained grounds and clean facilities made the experience even more enjoyable.

We were very happy to discover this place. Only 15 minutes from Stamford downtown. There is a bit of everything here: I really liked the palace and the statues. The boardwalks were nice and peaceful. We met two young fawns there. Also on the territory of the nature center we saw a lot of animals: cows, goats, chickens, ponies, pigs, horses, llamas and many reptiles in small souvenir houses. And otters, they are as always, amusing and amazing. Worth a visit for sure, even without children - a good anti-stress therapy.

The Bendel Mansion at Stamford Museum & Nature Center was the perfect place for our wedding. Every part of the house and grounds is more beautiful than the last with Italian sculptures, including a beautifully carved fountain, and of course the stunning Tudor style house. There is a large conference room to get ready, a gallery for cocktail hour with art installations, a wooden dance floor area, and a long dining hall and atrium for seating guests at dinner. They have a great selection of furniture to start from that offsets rental costs and while you do have to select from their list of approved caterers, we found the list to be quite long and were introduced to the perfect company for us through it (shout out to Best In Gourmet!). The SM&NC team takes such beautiful care of this property and we were so grateful for their hard work at our wedding, highly recommend!

Great museum, farm and park. Can easily spend the whole day here. Everything is well kept, clean and beautiful. There are many hand wash stations everywhere and the washrooms are clean. Great place for children.

Fabulous farm and outdoor activity center. Kids absolutely love it. We’ve had a family membership for a few months now and attend regularly. Best are the otters, cows, goats, and horses. Kids playground and trails are fantastic as well.

Great for young kids. Fun play area with great slides and a pirate ship. Variety of farm animals. Fun trail walks that have extra stuff for kids beyond other local options, such as a mini woodland obstacle course.

This place was a lot of fun. It's a great activity that you would not expect to be so close to an urban center like Stamford. There is also an observatory here which is open only at specific times, but it offers another possibility to explore. I spent the day hiking around the premises and watching the animals. There were also fully ripe raspberries available to pick and eat right there.

Free admission with a bus pass or a couple other circumstances. Lots of animals to see, lots of ground to cover. Lovely place to pass the evening.

I’ve been bringing my family here for a decade and it’s always fun. Playground, trails by the stream, farm animals, and an art gallery. A solid 2-3 hours of things to do with kids.

Amazing time with my kids and family! The “Wild exhibit” was particularly engaging and fun. The staff G the wild and the Stamford Nature Center are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They go above and beyond to provide an educational and enjoyable experience for visitors. Their expertise and warmth create a welcoming atmosphere, making every visit a delight. I highly recommend the Stamford Nature Center for anyone looking to connect with nature and learn from a fantastic team.

Such a beautiful place to go for a walk and with your kids. You can get up close and pet the animals. They also have a museum we didn’t get to experience. They have a beautiful playground . We are definitely returning

This nature center is a fantastic place to relax and be outside. The grounds are scenic and peaceful. There are lots of families with small children. My kids love to see various animals, and they have a fabulous playground in the woods. Bonus points for being shaded, so it's a great place for kids to play in the summer and not be directly in the sun. I went on a weekend, and a farmers market was also happening on the grounds, so it's a great place to pick up some fresh food while you're enjoying the outdoors. There is an entry fee, but it seems worthwhile if you purchase a season pass.

Loved coming here as a child and have amazing memories. Unfortunately, my most recent experience here with my little ones was disappointing. The staff isn’t friendly or welcoming at all. They look miserable for a place so well kept and beautiful - the only exception was the nice lady at the gift shop who managed to smile. The guest experience is so crucial in this financial climate.

Lots of animals, trails, woodsie playgrounds, and a beautiful castle-like building for those of you who need a unique wedding venue.

Well maintained farm and trails. One trail is stroller friendly, nice to bring your little ones for a short stroll in the woods. Love the farm, good place to bring kids to explore.
