Awful hospitality. We only had one bath towel in our two bed hotel room. We called the front desk for another bath towel and they told us it would take 30 minutes. An hour goes by, and we call again asking about the towels. The woman on the phone rudely cuts us off and tells us that she told us it would be a while. Two hours go by. We call again and a new woman who just started her shift said she’d call the people in charge of the towels in five minutes. 30 minutes go by. We call again and a new woman answers and says it will be handled. A total of three hours pass since the first call and someone finally brings towels to our hotel room. Very disappointed, not by the wait time, but by the attitude of the staff.

Loud, loud, loud. Old!!! Needs updating. Restaurant sub par. No housekeeping. No room service. Go somewhere else. This place needs a face lift and to stay here you’ll need ear plugs. 12 Th floor facing highway 95. Horrible !!!! Worst hotel in a long time. Didn’t get a wink of sleep and because I expected to come back from a long day of meetings to see a clean room and fresh towels I was thoroughly disappointed. I’m addition, if you’re not going to provide fresh towels leave more than 2 bath towels & 1 washcloth for a multiple night stay. All I needed was a good night sleep, clean towels and good food/drinks and atmosphere. Staff was friendly but that doesn’t make up for the rest of it.

Probably among the worst hospitality experiences I’ve had in recent memory. I checked in the night before and indicated my arrival time being 9pm knowing we’d be rolling in later in the day. When we arrived, it was absolute chaos. The entire front of the building had families seemingly waiting around, and so many cars you couldn’t pull into the lot. I parked and went in to check in and found another 20 or 30 people also in the lobby. I got into the check in line with one individual working. A woman told me “good luck, they got no rooms.” When it was finally my turn, the individual said very simply, we have no rooms. When I asked how that was possible, he said holiday weekend, we overbooked, sorry. I asked if they were arranging other accommodations, what is their plan, as he was not really communicating any next step. He offered to take my name and call me if something opened up. I couldn’t believe my ears. Family in tow, we couldn’t chance waiting around a lobby with no timeline for a room to open up or them to walk us to a different property. I’ve stayed at Marriott’s most of my business life, probably more years in these rooms than I’d like to admit due to work travel, never in my life have I seen something like this. Sure, a few rooms over booked, it happens. This was chaos. I’m extremely disappointed in this experience, with Marriott, we made our own plan b, no one from the hotel ever called us to follow up. After hundreds of nights in a Marriott, I’m making the switch to Hilton.

Location for the hotel is ideal as it's fairly close to most things. The hotel itself looks new but feels older and worn in if that makes sense. The parking garage suffers from only having one exit which makes getting out backed up at times. Service was decent. Although the restaurant and bar staff were a little slow serving at times.

This is one of the worst Marriott hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It’s dated, it’s dirty and dingy. They need a renovation desperately. Popcorn ceilings with cracks for design. Bathrooms are disgusting. It was raining and there was so much noise from it on the windows. Over never stayed at a hotel where the rain keeps you up from the noise. You would expect a nicer hotel for the price and location. Steer clear. I won’t ever be staying here again.

Rooms are well heated with forced air system that isn’t too loud. Black out curtains on windows and thick glass, couldn’t hear the highway outside. Fridge in room keeps beer cold, parking was easy, covered with access by room key-entrance to hotel from parking. Restaurant open until 10:30 for breakfast, buffet style, didn’t try, not sure what kosher options might be available other than fruit and cereals. Bed very soft and comfortable, shower strong and lots of hot water. Only negative was the pillow I slept on had mildew stains all over it, of course I didn’t notice it until the morning, little extra Brut aftershave should kill anything.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any place. This web site will compare countless booking web sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you choose this place you won't be disappointed. I really don’t do reviews much but this deserves 5 stars! My stay here was great! Very peaceful and clean rooms. The restaurant for breakfast took the cake. The customer service was over the top. The staff were so attentive and professional. The food delicious and fresh!

This was frankly a disappointing experience as a frequent Marriott user. This is easily the saddest Marriott I've been to. It is outdated (that bathroom ceiling is tragic), the room was dirty (see pictures of a toenail on floor, paint chips that fell when you closed the curtain), the bathroom vents were filthy, and just overall needed a redo. Had reserved a king size room but they didn't have any not near elevators so I received a double room. No upgrade as a platinum member but it looked busy so I guess it wasn't my luck. The food in the lounge was okay. They offer wine and beer (there wasn't beer that I could see when I went in though) during the evenings. Service was great, and I appreciate them for the work they do. No shuttle to and from train station. Just not impressed by the offering.

We stayed here while attending a friend's wedding. The rooms were dirty and in a state of disrepair. Waits for the elevator in the morning exceeded 10 minutes. For the prices they charge there are better accommodations available in the area.

she’s an older “grand hotel” but is still in top shape concerning service, comfort, and cleanliness. Stayed for two days. Really helpful and professional staff. The manager is serious about good service. He was very visible on the premise. Great leadership there. Parking garage was excellent and free! Upper club for executive members was nice. There’s a make your own Gelato machine! Bed was very comfortable, and for being right next to 95, it was very quiet. The location convenience makes it even more worthwhile. Will stay again anytime.

A little underwhelming. Check in process at the front desk can be improved. There was leftover food on the fridge in my room, so not sure how thorough they are in cleaning up the room after each guest. But breakfast is very good.

Probably the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. The building is very old. The rooms are never ready when I show up. I come here multiple times because client makes us stay here but I was once given a key card to someone else’s room. This time they billed me for extra nights that I didn’t stay and getting a hold of billing department is impossible. Sometimes the front desk is clueless and takes forever to check people in

Andy and Vidya saved a bad experience I had earlier today at another Marriott. I have to say these two were amazing and they went above and beyond!. Thank you so much for the hospitality and treating us special. It truly makes up for the prior experience at the other location…. Marriott is super lucky to have you both. Thank you again Val

Not sure why there are critical reviews of this Hotel. We were a bit ambivalent about booking because of them, but got a good deal and needed a break from NYC. Well after a 5 night stay, we liked it so much we booked another 5 nights, First off, this is an older property. Huge ornate lobby. The rooms are also not the tiny cookie cutter variety and are big and well furnished. Our bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The room had obviously been refurbished and there appears to be an ongoing maintenance program to keep things neat and clean and polished. At one time this hotel was a grande dame of Stamford but newer competition has taken a toll and it was nowhere near full. Every person working here was pleasant helpful and knowledgeable. I had each employee sign my key sleave when they were helpful and nice. Well that sleave is full so I am going to list them: Jean, Mi Mi, and Carolina at the Northern Lights Bar and Lounge, Judy at the Concierge Lounge, Ethan, Elaina, Milka, behind the desk, Shashana, one of the managers and Charles who handled security. These are just a few of the many staff we interacted with, but everyone was pleasant and helpful... This is a well run old school hotel. It is a credit to those in charge to maintain such a great property. We will be back

Longtime Starwood’s members. Stayed Thanksgiving night, and staff were gracious and wonderful. Thanks especially to Astrid and Yugenia at the front desk for the special attention and going the extra mile. Concierge floor staff person was attentive and lovely. Will be back!

Rooms are very outdated. To the point of run down. Not sure how Marriott lets these properties/franchises stay a Marriott. Parking is over priced like any other hotel. The entire hotel is run down and dumpy. It's clean. That's about the only saving grace. Do not book.

Hotel needs a lot of maintenance and updating. If you're looking for a flashback to the 90s this is the place. The furniture and decor is just as old, complete with the commercial drop ceiling in the bathroom. The AC/Heat unit is dreadfully loud and the room itself while apparently clean just looked dirty from being worn out and old. The theme followed through with the elevator missing light covers and having cracked and faded buttons and old carpet throughout the halls and rooms. The room doors don't have any kind of seal so you have light and noise all night. The bed was underwhelming and seemed to need replacement. The location was fine, there are a few very expensive restaurants nearby and a mall if you are bored. No free breakfast, the wifi didn't work, and parking is as expensive as anywhere else nearby.

This hotel is a fine mediocre Marriott property that hasn’t yet been updated. And in difficult situations, they completely fail to put the customer first. At the end of a large event the parking garage gate started malfunctioning and instead of just letting guests leave free of charge, they held more than 50 cars hostage for over an hour forcing EACH CAR to manually contact the garage company to open the half-broken gate, and still asking people to pay. Proceed with caution.

Olivia at the front desk is AMAZING. She is so professional, cordial, accommodating, friendly, genuine, I could go on and on. She made our checkin so pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us to make our stay better. She is a true credit to Marriott and it’s people. Her coworker (Allison?) was just as friendly. 20 stars out of 10!!!

Stayed in this expensive hotel over the weekend. I wish I could say the money was worth it but not the case. The bathroom shower liner was way too long and my daughter almost slipped on it. In addition, there were cracks in the walls andThe vent as you can see was blowing black dust. The rooms need a serious upgrade. Furniture is old worn and out dated. As for the hotel restaurant we had to send food back that wasn’t prepared as ordered and took a very long time to come out. The bill was ridiculously high. I would not recommend staying here. My room was cleaned the next day and the housekeeper left one towel in the bathroom with a blood stain and hair on it. I went to the front desk to ask for towels and wash cloths and wasn’t received well by the receptionist at the desk, very harsh and rude.

Very Nice. Top Tier can’t say anything else breakfast was amazing as well the hostess could have been a little more friendlier but other than that it was still great the gentleman doing the omelette stand went above and beyond.

I am very disappointed with the honesty with the staff in that hotel, it supposed to be professional and honestly people but wasn’t I was there in my wedding day room 401 May 20, and unfortunately I forgot my bride dress, I called several times asking about the dress also my husband went personal to the front desk to ask and spoke with the person in charge about the cleaning or loosen things but never returned the dress to me, they said there wasn’t nothing in the room when we leave the hotel but of course the dress was there. So it was a bad experience with this hotel when supposed to work honestly people.

We had a nice stay. The rooms were clean and the service was excellent. The staff was friendly, especially the dining room staff. They made us feel at home. Unfortunately it rained all weekend so we didn't have time to enjoy the surroundings.

We needed a place to stay for the night that was close to a family funeral in Riverside. The rooms showed signs of age but all were well maintained and very comfortable. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The location was convenient abd easy to access from the highway. It was quiet.

Business trip. Hotel staff is all so amazing and polite. The bartenders have such great hospitality skills and fun attitudes. The food I ordered to-go was actually really good! They made my burger perfectly how I asked. Rooms were nice and the location is perfect! So many restaurants, shopping mall and train station all near by!

I really want to give this hotel more than five stars. Elaina, Vanessa, and Minerva in particular are the gems of this hotel. We stayed here following the passing of my aunt and grandmother. The staff was extremely courteous and understanding of our losses. They really went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. Thank you so much for everything you did!

I travel for work and am in and out of all sorts of hotels and the beds here are the comfiest of all. I don’t know how they do it but I look forward to getting a great night of sleep here every time. The restaurant is great for breakfast and the bar is great for dinner.

This was our landing place for several days while visiting the area. The hotel is located in a central area right off the highway. Only noise would hear was the train in the morning, but it wasn’t loud enough to wake us. This place was pretty clean, but is in desperate need of a renovation. To our surprise our room was remodeled, but not the bathroom and not the rest of the hotel. It was strange. It’s like they began to remodel and then stopped. This is most evident on the club floor. We grabbed breakfast daily in the club and grabbed water and snacks for our drives in the area. They also have this fancy gelato machine that my kids really enjoyed.

We planned a last minute trip and first to the area. Pros: Conveniently located and easy to find. Nice on-site parking and a welcoming smile from the person helping customers with luggage. Kendra checked us in and what a great host at the reception. She made us feel welcomed and didn’t show any rush to push us out. Gave us a great room. Thanks Kendra. She is a manager material. Room was Comfortable and air conditioning was perfect. Bad was out of this world and we slept so well. Great customer service all over. Mohammad who was working with housekeeping is an amazing person and greeted us with smile and was very knowledgeable. Cons. Breakfast selection was not good and quality was not that great. Some breads and pasted were stale. Restaurant staff was very friendly and super helpful.

I love this hotel.. the beds were fantastic . The air conditioning worked very well all night long. The room had a combo of tile and laminate flooring which was very clean! No yucky wall to wall carpet hiding God knows what. It's an older hotel that has been well maintained and renovated. It feels modern and fresh . The rooms are nicely decorated with new and modern furniture but it doesn't feel cold. The rooms are bright with huge windows and lots of sufficient lighting . The front desk staff couldn't be any more pleasant and accommodating . The price was great. We had 2 beds in the room. Shower had a rainshower head and a regular one ! Check out is noon! How civilized ... This Marriott will be our go to when heading to southern CT or NY. Thanks for a great stay!

Patricia at the front desk was my favorite by far! She interacted with everyone, everywhere, . Christian, from the bar and the ENTIRE breakfast staff was phenomenal. Bar staffs funny and lively too. The manager (big red haired gentleman) was very down to earth and interacts with the guest as well. The gym, in my opinion is more spacious than other hotels which is always the bread and butter if my trips. You have capital grille across the street, Burlingtons in walking distance. I stay at hotels 10 months a year and you guys/gals are exceptional! My only complaint is that I wanted to stay longer. I felt at home here

The hotel host are very polite. Was a little problem finding my reservation when we arrived but they found it. Everything was very good .except the bed took a minute to get use too the mattress is very soft and you feel like you are in a cloud. It kept sliding off and we had to kerp fixing it. Otherwise it was a good trip.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I was greeted at the front desk by Joe and he had fantastic energy during check in. I booked rooms for my wife and I and my in laws. Though the rooms look a bit dated, the hotel is slowly but surely updating. A sign of that is the updated Walk-in shower in my in-laws room and the rainfall shower head in my room. Beds were very cozy. Breakfast at the bistro had classic offerings and was good. Overall, we had a great stay for the weekend. This is also located down the street from the mall and other downtown eateries and hot spots. Highly recommended!

Room was nice and clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Best nights sleep I’ve had in awhile! I did have one complaint but it’s not worth taking away a star— I wish they had provided more than one of each kind of tea. My sister and I both wanted to have a chamomile tea before bed but there was only one bag. Other than that, it was a great stay.

I stayed a couple nights at this location and was greeted warmly by the Manager Patricia. There was a small issue with not having towels in my room the first night which was corrected late that evening. My overall sentiment turned positive after speaking with Patricia at checkout as she again was kind, pleasant, personable and left me feeling like a valued guest.

We visited for just the spa and it was absolutely amazing. The manager is fantastic, a genuinely wonderful person. The masseuse is a truly gifted practitioner. The visit was part of an all day experience for a loved one's birthday and the care and excellent service provided made the day extra special. We will definitely be going back in the near future and highly recommend the spa for anyone looking for a relaxing, therapeutic spa journey.
