Stayed one night for an event. The room was spacious and clean. Was pleasantly surprised to find an air filtration system in the room which worked well for my allergies. The bed was extremely comfortable. The event I attended ran flawlessly. The staff was friendly and efficient. Convenient and pleasant alternative to chain hotels at a very reasonable price.

Upon checking in the front desk staff were amazing, vibrant, full of energy and helpful. We ordered some food from the bar before going to our room thinking it wouldn't be too long, maybe 20 to 30 minutes. Ended up waiting 45 minutes for a pizza and tacos. Eventually got to the room and the TV didn't have any sound. Ended up fixing it myself after calling guest services and being on hold for a while. When opening up the bed, the sheets were filthy and the bed and pillows were full of hair. Clearly wasn't changed after the last guests had been there. The front desk attendant (not the ones from check in) tried looking for a new room but apparently couldn't find anything available. I was told they would change the sheets and I requested that the entire bed be redone. I was then offered a breakfast voucher but that too was unavailable. Ended up not wasting time going down for breakfast.

Do not stay at this hotel. Our first experience is with our sons room...not ready by 3p and was filthy when the desk said it was ready. There was no shower head. They were up graded from king to a suite. Later we found that our daughter and boyfriend reserved this suite and was told no suites were available when they checked in and was down graded to the king room that my son complained about. Shame on you! And you still charged my daughter the suite price. As for my room, it was not clean, the toilet backed up and the faucet was loose and dripped all night long. Staff was not friendly or accommodating. And was never told that parking was extra and a 100 dollar hold for incidentals on credit card. There is no continental breakfast which bybthe statement breakfast available 7am to 11am would be indication there was. Never stay at this hotel. Over priced and filthy...

From a cursory inspection the hotel seems quite nice. The lobby is spacious and well furnished, the front desk crew was very nice and informative, the location is pretty fantasticā€” just a short drive to Metro-North. The bed is great, although it does require a ladder if youā€™re under-tall. But the devil they say is in the details, if you look (not too) closely this hotel you see that it is very much past her prime. In the lobby, the furnishings are chipped and peeling, there is a mysterious ā€œstop workā€ order from an inspector on a door ā€” from 2021!!! The pool was out of service, according to a notice at the front desk and even more concerning one of the elevators had a busted fire key. The rooms are well appointed, but the furnishings are chipped and/or missing parts, peeling wallpaper and broken tiles complete the look. The included ā€œwellness breakfastā€ was quite sad, and while cooked to order it was sparse and unappealing. Overall it served its purpose, I slept decently and there was covered parking ($20 day, with in/out) and its proximity to transit and dining options give it points. We paid $180 (+tax and $100 dep) - cheaper than the city so thatā€™s a win, but overall not a great value.

Stayed here for work travel. The rooms felt dirty and brokenā€¦ my sheets had a weird blood stain on them, which is very small (see photo), but still gross. The walls had miscolored patches of yellow on them (see photo). The desk chair was broken to the point of unusable. There was also a little bit of mold growing in the bathroom by the doorstop (see photo) and it smelled of mold when you ran the shower. Truly the worst hotel I stayed at for work so far. If you can avoid this place please do. Staff was also less than helpful.

Originally, I planned on staying for two nights, but that quickly became one short one due to the lack of quality. Sheets had stains, the hallways smelt of weed, the wallpaper was peeling. I called the front desk and the young girl on the phone was absolutely useless and rude, she clearly did not want to be there. Red dots behind the headboard that was some sort of stain similar to blood or food.I will never go back, such a shame because the location is terrific. I know these are trying times for everyone, but it is an expense to stay here and I don't want others to fall victim as well.

Run do not walk AWAY from this hotel. It is truly on a different level of disgusting. First, we were not allowed an early check-in, although we didnā€™t see any guests coming in or out of the lobby. Our room was full of dust and obvious stains on the bedsheets. We travel frequently and I truly have never felt more uncomfortable in a hotel in my life. The TV Turned off after every 5 minutes of use. I wouldnā€™t be surprised if there were bed bugs. The people at the front desk donā€™t tell you about the accommodations and generally are unfriendly. When we left for the day we expected to come back to fresh towels and a made bed, but no one had cleaned our room. Even when we left they didnā€™t ask how our stay was as Iā€™m sure the employees know how gross this place is.

The lobby and outside appearance of the building are very beautiful. Our room was clean and neat. It is quiet at night and easy to sleep. The beds in the room are quite high and there were a few scratches and stains on the floors, walls, and bedpost. The mirror was cracked. The toilet stopped working twice and each time we would have to wait 15 minutes for someone to come up and fix it.

This hotel is lacking in maintenance, the entrance to the parking lot at night is unsafe. The room they gave me smelled bad, the sheets were dirty and stained, the lobby is used to store garbage, the wallpaper on the walls is peeling, the lock does not work properly. In other words, a transient motel is better than this hotel, plus they charge 20dlrs for parking, and the night receptionist looks like a prison guard.

The hotel was nice. Entry, lobby, and parking were all great. Room could use some basic repairs, peeling wallpaper, etc. the staff was wonderful and bartender was really nice. My only complaint was I stayed on a Tuesday and ordered a burger from the bar for a quick dinner after traveling all day. It took 59 minutes to get my burger and then my fries were wrong (were supposed to be sweet potato). The bartender felt bad so he gave me a free glass of wine for my wait. Other than that, I would stay again (just eat prior). The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. It was a lovely hotel and very convenient location.

4/10 overall. Mediocre customer care. We reserved our rooms and paid in advance and when we arrived, they didn't accommodate us with a HALF HOUR earlier check in.... and we have a child. Not great service. Even better.... they didn't even have our reservation or show receipt of payment. My wife had to go back and forth with the front desk for over 45 minutes until it was sorted out on their end.... not really the check in experience one is looking for when spending $700+ on two rooms on a weekend at a hospitality establishment. Then the rooms weren't even ready. One was steamy and hot and they told us to wait for it to cool off.... what a joke. Maurice was a very friendly and fast bartender in the lobby bar, which stays opem until 11. Morning breakfast was atrocious. Best part.... it also is NOT included. They actually have the nerve to charge for that excuse of a breakfast. Horrible breakfast service from staff. Nice interior to the hotel overall. Small pool. Rooms were mediocre. Someone ran through the parking deck gate in the morning and that was co.pletely broken. Slightly dicey area at night, be careful.

We requested 2 rooms close to one another. The bed was too high for one guest so the front desk staff quickly moved that person to an ADA room and moved the second party as well to be close by. The bed was still high but there was a stool in that room and we made it work. Very accommodating front desk staff. Yes, furnishings were a bit dated but staff made up for it. Comfortable beds!

They didn't have my room reservation when I arrived since they made an error when changing computer systems. The room has been reserved over 6 months in advance. The desk staff was able to find us another room. It was a handicap accessible room that felt like staying in the hospital. I appreciate the staff trying to do their best, but a 6+ month reservation should.not be sold out upon arrival. Cleanliness was decent.

The rooms are dated. Our shower didnā€™t have a door and it was dirty near the windows. The sink dripped all night. The A/C was blowing in the middle of Winter so our room wasnā€™t even warm. Super nice people and it was cheaper so you get what you pay for. The pool was closed. We were shocked when there was a deposit but maybe thatā€™s an east coast thing.

So from check in to check out outstanding service . We had a Class Reunion that was hosted by the hotel. The food drinks special added touches were fabulous. Please don't hesitate to book an event or just a stay at this hotel. It was so nice to see staff go out of their way and be friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Best deal in the Stamford area. Friendly staff. Great common areas. Bathroom, bed, and desk were nice. There were a few negatives: My keycards stopped working twice over the span of a week. Parking is $20/night. Coffee isn't good. No room service. Hallways smell old.

Bedā€¦. 5 stars. Very comfortable. HVAC controlā€¦.5 starsā€¦.very customizableā€¦.appreciated the air purifier. Furnishings ā€¦. 3 stars. I liked what was in the roomā€¦.i just wish it had been in better condition. The elevators were clean but there was some damage in one. The lobby looks nice. Bathroomā€¦..1 starā€¦. The shower took a good 10 minutes to heat up. The shower door was very difficult to close. It was not off the rack. It just needed to be lubricated. Serviceā€¦..2 stars. The staff that checked us in was Very pleasant. When we came back that evening, the bartender was having an issue and gave us very little attention. He gave us a hot bottle of champagneā€¦ We had to ask someone else for a bucket full of ice to cool it down. He was too busy, trying to trace down guest that had walked out without signing for their check to give us any attention at all. The rest of the staff was no more interested in this either. Amenitiesā€¦..1 star. The breakfastā€¦ Which I got for free because I stayed in a wellness roomā€¦ Is normally $12. It reminded me of a Covid era breakfast service. It was not worth it. The food was ok but unsatisfying. The location is great. A five minute Lyft to the train station or downtown Stratford dining. The honest answer is that, even though there were things I like about the hotel, I probably would not choose to stay here again.

Room was clean, although service needs improvement. We got late check out and paid for it when booking. We got a knock asking to clean our room hours before our check out. Then another cleaning person knocked on our door a second time, very suspicious of why we were still there and making us call customer service ourself to clarify our late check out. Very disappointed in the miscommunication. The manager did fix the issue with us when we went downstairs to check out. Breakfast was great and the chef was very nice. If youā€™re looking for a standard affordable room this is the place. Parking and breakfast is not included but not extremely expensive in my opinion. You do have to bring your parking ticket to the desk to pay which we didnā€™t clearly see. I think though the communication with cleaning staff needs to be improved. A decent basic hotel if you need it for a night or two.

Are you ready for the 411? Here we goā€¦I am attending a conference and this hotel was the overflow hotel, hence not my first choice. The hotel is older which can be tell by the old and broken furniture. While I just needed a room to sleep in it worked for my needs. However I was rudely surprised when I woke up to NO HOT WATER. I called the front desk to report it just to be asked "if I let the water run first?" Clearly if I am calling them I had to have let the water run prompting me to inquire what they thought was an appropriate time to let it run before realizing the water is not working...15 minutes? 30 minutes? I ended up having to take a COLD shower because engineering was not starting until 7am. It's now 7:30am and nobody has come to address the issue. This is truly frustrating and I am telling you if all possible stay clear of this hotel! Next year's conference will not catch me here. I must say the friendliest staff here were the staff at the restaurant as they were friendly, courteous and no attitude. UPDATE: Spoke to manager and was informed the boiler shut down automatically resulting in the cold water. For my troubles of having to take a cold shower, my accommodation was a free breakfast. The conference I am attending provides us with a free breakfast so I guess my accommodation is zero!

Service was horrible. Every time I needed something I had a minimum of 5 minutes at the desk. No coffee or anyone to talk about it. Housekeeping banging on my door at 8:30 am and didn't speak English... Your sarcasm in your response is a perfect example of the exact treatment i spoke about. I would have PAID for a coffee if i could have found someone to assist. The coffee in the room was not there.... Must not have been replaced... It was definitely housekeeping who knocked on the door (not someone playing a prank) and it was definitely 8:30 AM... I didn't just make that up as you hinted too....

Perfect location. Very clean well decorated hotel. Onsite bar with light menu selection was cool. Staff was very nice and helpful with suggestions and directions. The room was a nice size. Bathroom was small but the walk in shower made up for it. Loved the over sized towels. On site parking is convenient ($20/day). Only dislike was no microwave in the room. A complimentary microwave is in the lobby though. Otherwise a wonderful stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Stamford Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut, and overall, it was a good experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by a courteous and attentive staff who made me feel welcome. The hotel's location is excellent, situated conveniently in the heart of Stamford. It offers easy access to nearby attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. I appreciated the convenience of having everything within walking distance. The rooms at the Stamford Hotel were clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. They provided a relaxing atmosphere, and the bed was cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep. The amenities in the room were satisfactory, including a decent-sized flat-screen TV and a well-functioning Wi-Fi connection. The hotel's on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu with delicious options. I enjoyed a few meals there during my stay, and the food was consistently of high quality. The restaurant staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional customer service provided by the hotel staff. They were always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries, and their professionalism and friendliness were commendable. Parking was $20 a night but that was to be expected :)! In conclusion, the Stamford Hotel in Stamford, Connecticut is a fantastic choice for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The convenient location, clean rooms, delicious dining options, and attentive staff make it a great option for travelers. Although there is room for improvement in certain areas, I would highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Stamford.

The rooms are small but very nice, clean, smell good and fresh. Pillows were comfortable and the bed was soft! No microwave though, only one in the lobby for EVERYONE to share. They accommodated us last minute with our dog; it was a pet fee of $90 per night I believe, or maybe it was $30/night- (we stayed three nights and my aunt was kind enough to take care of payments and booking) also was a weight limit of 40 lbs but I saw 3 dogs over 60 lbs so maybe they've changed that thankfully! We had checked into the Amsterdam hotel down the street earlier and it was atrocious. The first room at the Amsterdam had burn marks in the carpet as if someone put their cigarette out repeatedly on it. The bottom of ALL of the curtains looked like someone had held a lighter to the bottom of them and let them burn for a minute, they looked like prop curtains from a horror movie or a movie with a house fire scene. There were literally holes in the walls too, stairs on the carpets and a musty smell. All rooms overlook a parking garage or ghetto, extremely unkempt looking street. When I tell you the bed actually felt like just a plywood board with a sheet im not exaggerating. The second room they showed up smelled like pee. The windows didn't lock and opened from outside ground level, anyone could hop in. Thankfully the stamford felt safe and clean. Parking, however, is overpriced and shouldn't be charged whatsoever because to get from the garage to your room you have to take two separate elevators and walk through the long lobby. It's $20 a night and guests do not get a discount. There was an issue during check in because my aunt booked this for us; she booked using my name, but her third party app changed it last minute and put in her name instead. When we tried to check in, there was a whole issue with the stamford hotel thenselves and they were very very unaccomedating to change the name on the reservation, even though she was calling with her card number, reservation confirmations, identification, everything she should have needed. Thankfully her third party app called and forced the stamford the change the name because they were going to take the room back and now allow us to check in since my last name is different than my aunts. They were very busy so it's understandable that when I called the front desk to ask some questions I was on hold for about 10 minutes. But when they answered they did what they could to answer my questions. As for what they could not answer, they asked for a callback number so someone else could reach out and help me. They never did call me back, though; as I said, they were very busy and had some sort of sports team there for a tournament this weekend, so understandable to an extent. One of the questions/requests I had for them was that for the last 24 hours our air conditioner wasn't working; just putting out warm/neutral air, and forming condensation in the room. Within half an hour maintenance was up, and within 30 seconds they figured the problem out, and withing 5 minutes they were done and gone. Super pleasant guys, really really kind, cool and quick, and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all having them in the room whatsoever. I honestly would have felt comfortable leaving the room with them and my valuables in it alone. One million stars to them, I should have gotten their names. They worked on room 453 on Saturday evening June 24th- give them raises!!!!! Also the views from the room were very nice and the location is great and convenient. Great restaurants around within walking distance. Altogether good place and while expensive and overpriced in most areas, it's still the cheapest around that I'd actually CLEAN and SAFE!

CHECK EVERYTHING.... I pulled the covers back to settle in for the evening, noticed there was strands of hair. Pulled the bedding back more to find brownish smudged stains on the sheets. It was unsanitary and absolutely disgusting!! There was no hot water and the door to the shower was broken. Getting pass the semi cold water and the broken shower door was easy but the soiled sheets ...No! Unacceptable! Take your chances but as for me it's a never again and I wish I would have read these reviews before booking because it would have saved me from this terrible experience. Sidenote...Honestly speaking The Department of Health should really pay The Stamford Hotel a visit.

It was a wonderful experience. The staff was super friendly and very helpful as I didnā€™t know the area very well and the gentleman at the restaurant gave me directions after getting back we walked by and he asked ā€œDid you find itā€ simple gesture like this makes the place worth while Staff members who actually care. I canā€™t wait to book with them again šŸ˜

Check in was super smooth and the desk staff was friendly. Room wasnā€™t very clean (hair on bathroom floor, excessively stained carpets), but the bed linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Towels were scratchy and threadbare. Restaurant was awful - very rude bartender and we waited 40 minutes for 5 cups of ice cream to appear.

Good hotel, good price, not quite perfect. We were driving to NYC, stopped for the night. Common areas are quite impressive, rooms are good, but a little worn - wallpaper starting to peel, woodwork a little beaten up, etc. However, beds were comfortable, room was clean, location was good, and I would go back again.

The people are incredible, and the service is fantastic. The rooms are clean and have a decent amount of space. The location was convenient to my office and Stamford Town Center, and both my employer and I thought the price was fair. Special shoutout to Chef Kellogg, Bartender Jen, and Bartender Mo. Iā€™ve never eaten so many meals at my hotel during a business trip, but their service was fantastic. Thereā€™s only one downside to the hotel ā€” the bathrooms have doorless walk-in showers. Itā€™s frustrating to have to warm up the bathroom with steam just so you can stay warm in the shower. The shower inconvenience is usually a deal-breaker for me, but I enjoyed the people so much that Iā€™ll stay at The Stamford again.

Great hotel, very nicely set up with bar at entrance and parking detached. Breakfast wasnā€™t complementary though and the pool was as big as a twin sized bed but it worked for a one night stay I guess. Try to shop around before booking.

Difficult to access reception drop off from busy road and covered car park presented hazards of high curbs and jutting concrete. Lounge area is massive and well suited for large functions and meetings. Dining area also very spacious. Room is standard USA fare with good amenities. Beds were very comfortable and corridor quiet. Unfortunately, toilet failed and despite informing staff, no fix was achieved before checkout. Loved the covid inspired paintings on the pillars and the Great breakfast. Chair in room shabby and broken socket in lounge area exposed bare wires. Good place to stay for one night after a long flight and onward travel.

This was my first visit to The Stamford Hotel, and I'd like to visit again soon. The room I stayed in was large, clean and comfortable, with a great view of the surrounding city. The service was excellent. The hotel is also close to the Stamford Town Center, convenient for shopping. For history buffs, a WWI memorial and Civil War Memorial are located in a small park right next to the hotel. Refreshments were amazing and a highlight of the weekend.

Most staff were friendly and super helpful. We did have a small issue, completely isolated incident not related to the hotel, and Brittany went above and beyond to look into the incident and correct it immediately. We are super pleased with our visit and would stay here again.

It's my first time coming to this place. I came here with my kids and my mom. This hotel is big and beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the service is great but the food not so much. Everything tastes like cardboard!
