😠 Horrible little place! It costs 5 leva to see what is basically a mound of dirt and a room of pottery and some small figurines with no explanation other than Bulgarian. Photos are not allowed, though I managed to sneak one of the mound of dirt and if you want to actually understand anything what you... People often mention museum, small, Neolithic,

Horrible little place! It costs 5 leva to see what is basically a mound of dirt and a room of pottery and some small figurines with no explanation other than Bulgarian. Photos are not allowed, though I managed to sneak one of the mound of dirt and if you want to actually understand anything what you see you need to pay an extra 2 leva for a small booklet in English. Add to that the fact that this so called musuen is 2 kilometers from the center in an area full of gypsies and some sad communist buildings which make the experience even worse. Artefacts themselves are nice, albeit few and very small, put in glass containers that look like they were never cleaned since the fall of Communism. Save your time and money and don't bother with this!

Ask to hear the guide - he's an encyclopedia and a fine narrator who participated in the process of studying this gem. There are two floors - the one with the dwellings remains and a museum part. You'll need a bit over one hour to have a good look and hear the story.

Somewhat hidden and not huge, but fascinating. Neolithic people were very sophisticated and skilled. The gentleman running the place was friendly and helpful.

It is quite unique museum. You can see dwellings over 5k years old in situation they were dig. Good exhibition and a good talk with the guide. This museum needs some more directions and advertising, though. We had hard time finding it, and it was closed - we had to ring a doorbell to get it open.

5/5 stars, 3/3 ovens (even though one has dropped from the second floor).

This is an unforgettable site. You are transported back 8000 years to see family life in the Neolithic. A lovely man guided us through the house. Fascinating museum too. If you are in Stara Zagora don't miss it.

If you pay the extra 10 BGN for the lecture, it's worth the visit, unless you are a historian and actually know your way around neolithic structures. You also receive information about the artifacts found there and the town in general and also get to ask questions. There are package deal tickets that are sold on spot and cover more museums, .... something I sort of wish I knew before I got there....

The museum was built on an ancient mound . With nearly 2,000 outdoor exhibits these Neolithic dwellings carried out as the best preserved in Europe. The remains are 6000 BC . The museum is located in the backyard of the city hospital and is somewhat difficult to detect. In fact, if a person is not an expert archaeologist Neolithic dwellings would hardly impressed him.

If you want to learn about the very ancient history of Europe and start to really understand about the origin of the Thracians and their ancestors ' lifestyle the Neolithic dwelling spot is a must-see!

An interesting snapshot back into prehistoric times. A burned dwelling that provides a view of how people lived in the neolithic period. First time I posted this the the Google smart computer rejected it - maybe it was offended by the figurine of an ancient goddess? Still does not like the photos so I deleted them. Apparently the computer is a religious freak?

Seeing the remains of an approximately 7,000-year-old residential building doesn't happen very often. So take 20 minutes and let the friendly staff show you where the oven was. ;-)

Nice small place. Part of 100 Bulgarian national places. It shows a neolithic building containing 4 dwellings and a small exposition of objects.

A relatively small, somewhat hidden museum, but really nice artifacts from the Stara Zagora region. Also very friendly staff.
