2nd time staying at this hotel and it is a bit of a disappointment. Fairly clean rooms, not much to complain about as far as cleanliness. The restaurant is nice in the evening. But breakfast. Utter disappointment. Not much to pick from and on stayed Friday night night to Saturday morning. Breakfast was EXTREMELY SLOW! I was told 20 minutes until I received my order once placed. I somehow stayed an hour waiting, entertaining my children and still no food! We just got up and checking out and leaving empty handed for breakfast.

I booked a reservation through AAA with this hotel because it was closest in proximity to my business destination and offered 24-hour check-in. I drove approximately 8 hours and arrived just before 7 AM. The front desk clerk did not “appropriately” greet me. He simply asked how could he help me. I said “Good Morning” and told him I wanted to check in. He told me check-in was at 3PM. I referred to the 24-hour check-in. He told me they don’t have a policy for that, but he could charge me for an additional stay to check in early. I showed him all the amenities listed, including the 24-hour check-in. He said it wasn’t on their website. I immediately called AAA who suggested I go back and ask for the manager. I asked a woman at the desk if she was the manager. She said no and that the manager would not be in for a couple of hours. As I spoke with the male clerk, I looked around and saw no one of my ethnicity in the hotel. I told the clerk I was from that town and knew what was going on. With that said, I decided to go elsewhere. When I asked him if I would be charged a fee to cancel the reservation, the clerk said he would be “happy” to cancel my reservation. My daughter went in to ask for an apology on my behalf and he told her to leave. I found another hotel nearby that was more than willing and capable of accommodating my time sensitive needs prior to my scheduled business in town. I booked a room at the other hotel and was allowed to check in immediately. I told the clerk about my ordeal at Hilton Garden Inn of Statesville. He informed me that he was previously employed there, but resigned because it was “not inclusive”. I met another hotel employee upon checking out who shared the same sentiment. I was born and bred in Statesville and was quite impressed with the town’s progress since I left almost 35 years ago, but Hilton Garden Inn of Statesville “do better”! If I could give this establishment less than 1 star, I would. FYI, Hilton Garden Inn of Statesville, as recent as today 24-hour check-in is “still” listed under your amenities on the AAA app and according to AAA, all info posted on their app is provided by the hotels.

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have left a review had my headphones not gotten stolen. I asked for late check out, they offered me noon. At 11:50am I get my work call interrupted by house keeping. They must not have let her know about the late check out. She was kind about it and told me she'd wait. I then hear her in the next room cursing out someone over the phone. I decided to make her day easier and check out as soon as possible. I leave the room in a bit if a hurry, say bye to her on the way out. She apologies for interrupting my call, I tell her not to worry about it and to have a good day. As I walk out to my car, I realize I've left my headphones in the room. I go back up there immediately to find the housekeeper cleaning the room. No sign of the headphones. She says she hasn't seen them but comments on how small they are and easy to misplace. I never described my headphones to her. They could have been large over the ear studio headphones but she somehow knew they were small. I go back to my car and unpack everything to no avail. I definitely left my headphones in that room and they definitely went "missing" in the 5 minutes it took me to return to the room. Save yourself and your belongings a headache and avoid this place.

We have always stayed there on our way to Ohio. When we arrived the room I had chosen was having maintenance issues so we were assigned another room which was awesome! The clerk at the desk when we arrived was curt and did not thank me for being a Hilton Honors member. She did not tell me about the additional room charge, I had to ask. When I did ask she said”I told you.” The dinner was not the best but the barmaid was awesome.Breakfast staff was awesome and the food was great!

This was not the Hilton experience the front desk staff was very rude the room we booked was not offered. When I tired to ask about getting the preferred room the lady snapped at me told me I needed to contact the 3rd party. I booked through. I wasn't trying to get the room though the 3rd party. I wanted to know about getting the room through the hotel. Very rude front desk. The room was dirty but didn't even complain about that since I knew it wouldn't get me anywhere ened up checking out a day early. Stay anywhere else if you want good service

As far as Hilton Garden Inns go, this one rates pretty much on the high side. I didn't get to try their restaurant or bar but the rooms are spacious and clean with a nice size shower. The staff were nice and courteous. That's all one can ask for for one night stay on a business trip.

The rooms were very nice. The bed is very comfortable. There is a mini fridge, small microwave and a Keurig. The only thing that I saw needs attention is the shower. It is a little stained dirty and lots of caulk. It should be taken off and recalled nice. Thank you for a nice stay.

Hotel shower had lots of hair on the walls. When you turn on the water it smelled horrible. Not sure if it’s the Statesville water or the hotel plumbing but it was awful. Elevator for 3rd floor button was broke and inconvenienced people and we had to stand around waiting on the right elevator to go down and back up in order to have enough room. The laundry facility was also broke. For $168 a night, this was a horrible experience.

Overall this is a pretty decent place to stay, The rooms are comfy clean and well taken care of . However the best part of my stays at this hotel was the bar / restaurant it was so refreshing to know the waitresses there Marie knew my drink order ever single time I was at the bar not only was she on point but was so friendly and welcoming even when she was busy she stopped to have a conversation while taking other orders at the bar and the tables. She even decorated for St Patrick’s which was surprising to see in a hotel restaurant trying to be festive , that shows so much initiative and dedication to the hotel to give the gest a pleasant experience!!!!!!’

Avoid at all costs! I dont know how this place is rated so high, but our one night stay was a nightmare. The room was not cleaned from previous clinetele. There was a damp black sock left on a seat, multiple wet stains throughout the room and furniture. The walls had stains and scrapes. The bathroom tub had mold stains around the tub. The hot/cold water handle was broke and off axis. The towels were stored in the shower. The soapals were unsecured, and the body wash unit was empty. The sink facet had under 2inches clearance, leaving a too small distance to wash hands. They also are very cheap on their continental breakfast, charging upwards of $10+ for pancakes, eggs, and other stuff typically found on a Hilton Continental buffet. The waitress staff was rude, telling us "you had enough to eat now, goodbye." This place is demanding a state inspection.

We stopped here overnight on our way home from Greenville in late June/early July. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay but I am not sure if we would stay again. In fact, it kind of made me rethink staying at Hilton Garden Inns at all if I have the option of a Hampton, Homewood Suites, or even a Doubletree. First the good. It is a pet-friendly hotel. In fact, we saw several dogs during our night there. There aren’t a ton of good areas outside to walk your dog, but it’s sufficient. They do offer waste stations with trash cans and bags which is appreciated. Also, the rooms were nice and clean and spacious. I especially like how they have switched to the larger size toiletries affixed to the wall rather than the small bottles that were never enough for more than 2 people. The night was good so the next morning we went down for breakfast. As Hilton Diamond members, we get a $20 credit per room (we had two) towards breakfast. Most HGI will have a made to order counter along with a decent continental breakfast area. This one was different. They wanted to charge $12.95 per person for the breakfast “buffet.” But all that consisted of was eggs, sliced sausage and potatoes then and assortment of breads and fruit. When we saw buffet we thought it would at least be akin to what Hampton or others offer, but nope. We were further confused on what we were supposed to do as nobody greeted us or told us how things worked. Finally we went up to a waitress and asked if they had made to order. She handed us a menu../ no explanation. On the menu we realized that we could order things like omelets or pancakes, etc… for higher prices than the “buffet.” Who knows if the buffet was included with those orders or not because the waitress seemed annoyed at actually having to answer questions. So we all just got he buffet, quickly ate, got our bill and left. So, if you plan to stay here, don’t plan on a decent breakfast. The room/hotel itself is fine, but make plans to eat elsewhere. Don’t waste your money.

OK so the best thing about this place is the outside appearance at night and the nice gentleman that checked us in at 11. Somebody is trying here but they better pick up the pace. Quick. We are rewards members and have never stayed in a place like this before. The lobby downstairs is bright, clean new and refreshing. But... oh my God as soon as you get off of the elevator you are in the 1980s at best. The smell was that of vomit. I think? We made our way down the hall to our room where the floor creaked so loud something must have leaked at some point and they did not replace the wood. Upon opening the door I was greeted with a smell that I still cannot for sure identify but I think it was dried pee. Part of the room has been updated. Suoer thick, carpet and drapes made my allergies go insane. I for sure felt like I was in a sketchy place and going to wake up hostage in a bad movie. We left after 3 hours even though I was completely sleep-deprived from driving all the way from Miami. Step it up MANAGEMENT.

This location would have gotten 5 stars, if it was not for the hidden fee (incidental fees). Upon check-in I was advised of a "incidental fee" that would be an additional charge. This would not be a problem if Hilton would disclose this when reserving a room. It's all about setting accurate expectations, that really affects the customer experience. Outside of that, this location was great. Very accommodating staff, very clean and accessible.

Nice clean and spacious rooms. I only gave 4 stars because they didn't have free breakfast, which I'm getting used to having in most nice hotels of this caliber. However, they did have breakfast for purchase.

I didn't like the location but the service was excellent. The room was a bit off, especially the bathroom. This is a good stay and would recommend it to others who need to stay in the area.

We’ve stayed here a few times now and keep deciding to stay at this location even though our reason for staying is hickory. It’s worth the little commute. Great staff, great food (we chose theirs over eating out), great drinks, peaceful, relaxing & clean rooms! This is the only hotel we’ve found that our almost two year old will sleep at too without freaking out. Her pack and play fits perfectly into a little nook (closet) when you first enter the room so she feels like she’s in her own space. Hopefully this helps out other toddler parents that have a child that’s used of their own space and doesn’t do well with room sharing. :) also, try the wings and get a glass of wine. You won’t be disappointed.

Absolutely the worst Hilton Property I have ever stayed at in regards to the cleanliness of the rooms. The only word I can use is disgusting! I have never seen carpeting and furniture at stained and filthy as what I experienced in this room #406 . It’s very clear that management of this hotel takes absolutely zero interest in reviewing these rooms on a regular basis. If they did, and allowed these conditions to continue, there is a serious problem with this management team. I only wish I could figure out how to add the photos!

Newly build, very clean and big rooms. Modern and comfortable amenities. Service and location quality is par, but not exceptional. Entrance can be difficult to find.

Room itself was nice, but I’m active duty military and I was charged an additional 50 dollars for having my registered ESA with me. Then was told after I had already booked that I could’ve gotten 100 dollars off for traveling on orders, I explained to the front desk that I did have my orders and they were not willing to rebook my stay to receive the discount. I have never been charged for having my ESA with me, and I will not be staying here again.

Very nice facilities. Fairly new building. Located right off I-77 exit 49. Bar/restaurant in lobby. No restaurants in walking distance, but there are plenty within a 5 min drive. Downtown Statesville is also included in that 5 min drive which offers many activities.

Nice room but their website only says there is an on-site bar & restaurant with room service. Don’t book here on a Sunday if you want to eat at the grill or get a drink from the bar. Unfortunately we did, because their website didn’t say anything about the bar & restaurant being closed on Sunday! We would have stayed somewhere else had we known the bar & restaurant were closed. The cost of the room is not a good value without these amenities. We won’t stay here again & will be more cautious when booking a room with Hilton vs. other hotel options in the future.
