We
visited
Jay
Bees
Hot
Dogs
in
Statesville
after
a
day
of
visiting
wineries
near
Elkin.
I
am
a
big
fan
of
hot
dogs
have
grown
up
near
the
Roanoke
Weiner
stand,
so
I
am
always
on
the
lookout
for
a
good
dog.
To
me,
that
means
a
hot
dog
with
chili,
mustard,
and
onions.
So
we
had
to
check
out
this
place.
We
decided
to
dine
in
vs.
going
through
the
drive-through.
You
can
tell
that
this
place
has
been
in
the
community
for
quite
some
time.
The
staff
seemed
to
know
most
of
the
customers
that
arrived
during
our
visit.
We
ordered
one
platter
to
share
with
a
second
hot
dog.
The
platter
comes
with
a
dog,
fries
(we
substituted
onion
rings),
and
a
beverage.
They
are
famous
for
their
footlongs,
but
neither
of
us
was
quite
that
hungry.
One
to
the
dogs.
We
prefer
onion
rings
to
fries,
and
these
did
not
disappoint.
They
were
hot
and
tasty
right
out
of
the
gate.
The
dogs
were
prepared
the
way
we
wanted.
The
chili
was
exceptionally
good
on
these
two
pups.
Now,
this
is
not
a
fancy
place.
You
should
probably
not
be
looking
for
a
fancy
place
when
visiting
a
hot
dog
stand.
They
first
opened
in
1980
and
are
still
in
business
forty
plus
years
later.
This
place
was
clean,
the
food
was
good,
and
the
price
was
reasonable.
We
would
eat
here
again
