This is truly the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. The public areas, restaurants, rooms, grounds and pool are all lovely, classic and full of charm. They are grand and warm at the same time. Our room had lovely antique pieces, a patio and a big luxurious bathroom. The people who work there were all gracious, efficient and friendly. You can sit at the pool and look at the surrounding mountains while enjoying a drink, use the spa services, visit the local wineries and shops or just enjoy the accommodations. I loved the sense of history and how they respected the property's provenance in the decor. The food was quite good as well. I'm not much of a foodie so I can't speak to how innovative it was, but I had no complaints! There was a wedding happening when we were there and I can't imagine a lovelier place to get married!

Went for a cheese board and coffee at the deli as well as an afternoon high tea and a walk of the grounds! The deli was amazing, the staff was friendly and our waiter was so sweet and helpful. The cheese board was one of my favorite things from my trip to Cape Town! Lots of cheeses and breads with various candied and pickled fruits, yummy. Also, the afternoon tea was so much fun. There were 6 courses and I was possibly the fullest I've ever been afterwards. They also catered to my gluten free allergy and that was so so nice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and you can see the vineyards growing for miles! A must visit when in Cape Town.

Went for a very quick glass of wine with a friend and had an amazing experience sitting right by the vineyards but away from the Deli (which didn’t impact our service speed at all! Still very quick!). I must give a shout-out to Martin, one of the waiting staff there who was absolutely brilliant. We chose to have the Chardonnay and as an act of courtesy, once we were finished with our glasses, he brought out a tasting of the Mrs English Chard (something that is 3x the price of what we had first) and gave it to us on the house! Other than that, he’s a very friendly guy and contributed towards making our experience one to remember! Definitely recommend coming here whether it’s for a lavish lunch or a quick glass of vino!👍👍

Have stayed here twice now. It's the most fantastic place. Steeped in history. The staff are just the best, nothing is ever too much trouble. Beautiful grounds and modern spa. Breakfast is unreal. The rooms are just incredible, so well designed and comfortable. Being in Stellenbosch, you can of course easily hike, mountain bike around or just stay and enjoy wine tasting. Incredible place to visit. I look forward to my next trip!

What a venue. Totally picturesque and unassuming but that's just the outside. On the inside it's rich with history and antiques which transport you back in time. I may be so bold as to say the perfect blend between modern and classic. The taphuis is definitely a must for lunch. Service was great, starter and mains we're mouth watering. The deserts were a bit of a let down but this can be for given because the wine and the rest of it was top notch. Will definitely visit again.

I've had the privilege of residing at Lanzerac Hotel and Spa whilst being on my nationwide book tour, and I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life. The attention to detail starts when you arrive with friendly staff who make you feel right at home, and as soon as you set foot in reception you know that you are starting this journey off with elegance. The rooms are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated with everything that you might need to make you feel like royalty. The rooms are so serene and designed for your relaxation that it makes you feel like you are the only person on the property. The mini fridge is also fully stocked with Lanzerac wines and other beverages, and the snacks are sourced from local entrepreneurs. Lanzerac is also the first winery to use the word "pinotage" on their 1959 vintage label, and it shows. Enjoy a delicious wine tasting under the oak trees, in the tasting room or next to the vineyards and unwind. Be sure to make your way to the restaurant for delectable food options and to visit the spa. I'll definitely be back and thank you for all the inspiration that stemmed from your hospitality.

As soon as you enter Lanzerac territory you found yourself in the midst of the magnificent history and architecture: reception and hotel area with antique furniture, decoration elements, fireplaces, library.. Stunning interior! Rooms are very spacious and filled with comfort and home-like atmosphere especially with fluffy plush robes and sleepers 😊. And there is even a “pillow menu” (see photo), you can choose the pillow you like most for better stay 😊 While staying we were also spoiled with everyday Lanzerac-made candies and biscuits. Those you liked most you can buy in Lanzerac gift shop. There was a small pleasant gift for us on St.Valentine Day when we came from delicious dinner with candles and live piano in Lanzerac restaurant back to the room we found a rose on the bed and candies. It was so romantic.. Thank you. Exceptional service, the staff is friendly and helpful. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Lanzerac spa with a gym and swimming pool. There is a good range of the treatments, during some of which you can enjoy lush vineyards and incredible Stellenbosch mountains along with the pleasant music at the background. Very relaxing.. My tip: Make spa reservation in advance, the spa is very popular. We didn’t know about it and unfortunately couldn’t enjoy all the treatments at full since it was fully booked during our stay. I wish we could stay longer at Lanzerac. Highly recommended!

What a lovely place for a lunch, wine tasting and a relaxed stroll. Beautiful garden and well preserved mansion allow a beautiful trip back in time. The wines were quite nice, I found the Pinotage best though. Food was really delicious - we had the sandwiches and a carrot cake and loved them all. Reasonably priced as well.

We came for wine tasting for a brother of mines birthday. Amazing knowledge from the wine server and great service from the other waiters. Had a great time. One issue would be that is no background music. I would recommend Sound & Cinema.

As a Capetonian, I love visiting venues across our lovely city, and one cannot miss the opportunity to visit Lanzerac. The sheer size and beauty is breathtaking, and having seen it on a cold Sunday morning, was such a sight to behold. I must have looked like a tourist seeing it for the first time having taken so many pictures, but I assure you that not even these photos can truly do it justice. Its well outside of my price range in nearly every aspect, so I cannot comment on the rooms, the banquet areas, conference rooms and so on, but it is mesmerising being surrounded by Mountains. I do have one small critique which was the experience at the Deli on Sunday (4 June), when my girlfriend and I went for a Sunday drive to Lanzerac and opted to test the Deli out. Our coffee arrived very quickly as we sat down, and being one of the first people inside, the waiteress took our drinks order and then soon enough returned with it, however after that, she went away to not come back. We wanted to order food, but it took to long for service to arrive, and when we thought we would just rather pay and leave, I asked another waiter to please arrange the bill. That took nearly 20 minutes before my girlfriend and I got up and went to the front to ask for it. Everyone thought someone else was going to sort it out, but no one actually did. I know it was very early, just would have been nice to have faster service considering it was still empty. Other than that, what a beautiful place. I would definitely live there.

The resturant and dheli turned out to be a very pleasant surprise had the most mindblowing Chicken Tandoori! Compliments to the chef for delivering this sophisticated elegant masterpiece it truly was a taste sensation well balanced flavours ,nuanced, layerd , surprising, like a symphony of exciting flavour profiles that came together beautifully!! It was mouth watering perfection! The wine selection didn't dissapoint however the service was highly lacking! It is definitely not on par with the food!

Went here for a conference. Did not get a chance to taste wine. The conference facilities were impeccable. Excellent catering. Clean toilets. Efficient service. Beautiful setting. I would recommend this venue for conferences and weddings. Conveniently situated on the edge of Stellenbosch. One of the oldest wine farms in SA.

Went for wine tasting with my family and got the privilege of being served by Emmanuel. To say he was amazing is an understatement. He was exceptional, and really poured his heart out when serving us. He is literally the best waitor I've ever come across. The food was delicious, the stuff was friendly. This is my go to place to create beautiful memories

We just went to the tapas restaurant here for an evening meal. Although not typically a place where you would bring young children we were warmly welcomed and had an amazing waiter with a great sense of humor. Unfortunately they could not locate the tofu for the vegetarian meal which was slow to arrive but they persisted and it was free. Great manager!

We went for the wine tasting. We had the heritage tasting led by Steven, who did an incredible job taking us through the history of all the wines and really bringing all the stories to life with enthusiasm and a clear passion. The wines were delicious. And just when we thought we were finished Steven hit us with some bonus wines. What an experience! The cheese platter was also fantastic with some delicious cheeses, a huge selection of breads and crackers as well as some spicy candied nuts. The estate itself has a certain old romance to it. There are completely different vibes in the tasting room (which appears very rustic and laid back) vs the hotel which has much more Luxurious and elegant vibes.

We had a wine tasting at Lanzerac yesterday. The food, wines, and service were excellent. Not to mention the incredible location and views! We were assisted by Deremeaq, who with all her knowledge, answered all our questions about the wines very well. She was super friendly and provided detailed information about the wine and vineyards. Highly recommended!

Beautiful setting with the worst food that I have ever had in a restaurant. Obvious cheap meat cuts, is so tough that I could not cut through with the steak knife provided. The staff are well trained and provide the best service possible. The food was just very disappointing.

We visited the deli. Made a booking fir 11am. Arrived 10:50. Were told that our table was not ready yet. Ready? Are you going to ask the people at OUR table to leave at 11 then it will be ready? Yes. Wandered around. Saw that there was an empty table. Enquired about it. Manager came to the rescue and we were seated. Waited 45 minutes for our order. Was then told that the kitchen was extremely busy and we will have to still wait!! Decided to pay for our drinks and leave. Manager again to the rescue and offered that our drinks were on the house. Thank you! Sorry Lanzerac. You failed us. Mia

We went for Wine tasting, and we received a very warm welcome at the door from a few of the waiters and Jaques(don't know about the spelling), the view and the vibe of the place is fantastic. The waiter forgot about us but came to apologize. I'm not a wine drinker, but the wine was nice.

Service was excellent. Safety protocols was followed even from the gate. Staff waited for me as I celebrated my birthday there. Food was exceptional. Meat basically fell from the bones. I felt like i was in a palace whilst being there.

Afternoon tea at Lanzerac is fabulous. I did one in 2021 and now again in Jan 2022 and the menu was entirely different but still sublime. The service, the flavours with both sweet and savoury is delightful. Combinations you didn't see coming! Definitely recommend

Booked for high tea Saturday 26 Feb. Arrived on time as per booking. Waited for about 10 minutes in an area where we were told that we will called to enter the tea room. Nobody came to call us. My wife and I eventually went through by ourselves, and was then taken to our table. All good so far. Lovely table etc. However no atmosphere, no music and workmen moving in and out of tea room doing some work on a roof adjacent to tea room. The 2 waiters on duty were great, but for R 280.00 per person I expected a bigger choice of eats, and at least have your tea served in a pot. We had the choice of 2 teas from a box brought to our table. Then a pot of hot water was brought to the table and we had to brew our own tea in a cup, with no place to dispose of a wet tea bag. This was supposed to have been a special occasion for our 29th wedding anniversary, but it was a huge disappointment and I felt that I was robbed.

The food I received the first time I went in 2017/2018 (please see captions for comparison) was amazing, well cooked and well presented. The food I received last night was really so disappointing and unexpected. I was disgusted by the duck, it had no seasoning and it tasted over washed and over cooked. The mustard seeds did not help the dish and it was so poorly presented. My salmon, wow! It was sooo overcooked firstly and how do you get salmon to taste like trout? The whole even was shocking. The waiter was lovely but the place was empty and I understood why now. I ordered 5 meals between two people and enjoyed none of them. I spent a total of R 1200.00. (For reference of pricing for the 5 meals + wine)

Drank a coffee at the Deli, which was fuller than expected due to the overcast weather. Friendly staff and our order came quickly. Follow up service was lacking, but didn't bother me as we weren't planning on ordering anything else. Some grass outside close to our table, but didn't notice a playground (maybe I missed it). Would not recommend for visiting with small children.

The service was great, they still try to give you attention even when its full or busy. The best wines and waiter's knowledge about wines they offer os impressive. We had a cheese platter, it was fresh and scrumptious 😋

We unfortunately didn't get to stay at the Lanzerac Hotel due to UK Covid-19 restrictions. However, the customer service this hotel provided to us was excellent and I am sure a reflection of the hotel in general if one day we get to stay. Firstly, when we booked the hotel, they extended a discount offer to us, even though our stay was just outside the discount window. And then when Omicron hit - they refunded us straight away, no issues at all (whereas other hotels were a bit more difficult). They were a joy to deal with, we are only sorry we couldn't stay. Thank you for making this all less stressful for us and we hope to stay one day with you.

Great venue and quality food. Excellent sevice. Prices on food and drink have made a significant rise over the last two years and some of the white wines, while still OK to drink, are certainly a bit older than I would like to see there. I suppose they are catering more for the Euro/US visitors, but not having their own Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc available in 2021 vintage was a disappointment for.me.

Went there with the fam for brunch and absolutely enjoyed it! First of all, the road that leads to Lanzerac is so incredibly beautiful--tall trees covering the road. If the weather is nice, I would definitely recommend to book a table outside. The waiters are really friendly and attentive. The prices are rather affordable and the food-selection was great. I had a gourmet sandwich--a beef Philly cheesesteak roll--, a latte, a passion fruit and lemonade, and a peppermint tart. The steak roll was nice, a bit cold for my liking, but still rather flavorful; however, it was too cheesy for my liking. The latte was yummy--great brew--but it came in a plastic glass and cooled down a bit. The peppermint tart was a nice surprise; I thought I would just get a slice but they have these really cute tarts. The restrooms are nice and clean with liquid hand soap and hand lotion. Also, I obviously did not go for wine tasting but they seem to have a really nice wine selection. The parking is safe and secure and they have really nice spots for photos or just to relax. Would definitely go there again!

Its not often I will give a 5 star rating, but Lanzerac deserves every one. Staff are friendly, tactful & helpful. The scenery exquisite Rooms meticulously kept & well stocked. Delicious would be the only way to describe their food. Plenty to do, from wine tasting to taking an e-bike up the nearest koppie. It will be an experience not soon forgotten.

Idillic setting with beautiful historic buildings and lovely gardens. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff contributes to a warm atmosphere and environment . Gorgeous food. Compliments to the chefs. Safe environment. Ample parking. Also beautiful vineyards and a lovely place to sleep over.

It is an exquisite winery estate with beautifully appointed and generous rooms, terrific restaurants, great wine tasting rooms, excellent wine selections and professional courteous staff. The grounds are gorgeous as well. We didn't get to do any spa or biking — but not worried since we'll definitely be going back! Close to town (shuttle service offered during the day) - gorgeous mountain backdrop with walkable trails.

Stunning decor, views and facilities. But your staff is awful, the restaurant’s incompetent waiters need proper training. I have visited the establishment 3 times and each time I received little to no service, I’d have to ask for ice three times and it was not busy, let alone trying to even order the bottle of wine was a nightmare because they walk past you and ignore you like you don’t exist. Please bring this up with management as the wine deli has so much potential. I was there on Sunday 1st of May in the afternoon.

Very nice wines. We had a plate charcuterie, had some nice lunch. Enjoyed it with a special wine arrangement. We loved the different sorts of wine. Also the employee was a kind man, was also interested in their visitors. Would come back again.

Super room and guest facilities - we thoroughly enjoyed the indoor heated pool and jacuzzi and were delighted with a complementary wine tasting. Dinner was a little of a let down (not least as a fellow guest was playing live YouTube videos at the next table), our choice of starter was unavailable and a couple of us didn’t enjoy mains too much, but staff were great. Enjoyed our drinks in the bar afterwards and breakfast absolutely delicious and very filling. Highly recommended for an overnight stay!

Absolutely fantastic! We had an overnight stay recently and the front desk and porters were really great. Our rooms were incredible - and my bathroom was the best bathroom I have ever come across! A huge deep bath, heated towel rack, underfloor heating - absolute luxury! Don't even get me started on the drinks in the mini fridge and all the snacks! If I had to be nit picky: The DSTV stopped working in my room from about 8:30pm which was a bit annoying. There was also a small blood stain on one of the covers on the bed, and lastly I was hoping for a late-ish lie in, but was woken up at just after 7am to someone sweeping and rustling a packet right outside my room - perhaps this can wait until after 8am? Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the breakfast the next morning was incredible!! The food was spectacular - my poached eggs were done exactly as I asked, service was great, really can't fault it at all. We will be back next year for sure! Thank you Lanzerac team for a lovely stay :-)

It was a wonderful stay at the Lanzerac. The grounds are stunning and is reason enough to visit. The restaurant, pool, delicious cocktails, and cigar bar made the experience that much better! The staff was so kind and made sure every part of the experience was extra special. I would certainly return! Thank you!
