An idyllic place to enjoy lunch! I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was fully booked on the Saturday we dined there. Our food was incredibly tasty, with healthy portions and good value for money! Customer service was efficient even though the establishment was busy. Plenty of free parking available. Wine Tasting can be enjoyed across the dam in what can only be described as a tranquil and picturesque setting.

We sat in front of the water, to a beautiful view of the clouds rolling across the Jonkershoek mountains. The Valley breakfast option was quite divine, a healthy portion. The atmosphere , being surrounded by nature is such a good setting. The wine tasting is set in the middle of the lake/dam. Very picturesque setting and if you look North West you may spot a castle looking structure in the mountains 🤩. Kid friendly ,with lots of space I.e well maintained grass.

Venue is amazing, excellent setting. You must book though as it gets busy. Very popular. I was here for a wine tasting and the staff know everything about the wines. Great day out, Minutes from town. Will be back for the lunch one day

A very enjoyable experience with tasty well cooked food ( teriyaki burger 🍔), pleasant and efficient waiter. A sense of peace walking all around the beautiful lake with lots of photo opportunities of the scenic surroundings. We fully recommend a visit. Book first as the Postcard cafe is popular.

Great views, we were welcomed well in the restaurant even thou we did not make a reservation before we arrived. All waiters was very kind and made sure we got our food within less than 10min. Beautiful atmosphere, great experience, very calm and surreal experience definitely worth a visit.

Nice visit at Postcard Café Near Stellenbosch During my visit to the Postcard Café nestled in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley near Stellenbosch, I was welcomed into a casual yet inviting atmosphere, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Stark-Conde Wines. The café, known for its Mediterranean, vegan, and vegetarian-friendly fare, offered a diverse menu that caters to various tastes and preferences. I've had an enjoyable wine tasting session. The wines, while good, didn't quite leap into the realm of extraordinary for me, yet they provided a pleasant introduction to the local vineyard's offerings. The staff were friendly, embodying the laid-back charm of the area, though I noticed moments where their attention waned a bit, leaving room for slight improvement in service consistency.

What an amazing place to visit, picturesque only touches on how stunning this venue is. The drive through Stellenbosch to Jonkershoek is just beautiful the destination will just blow you away. The food at the Postcard Cafe is top class and delicious with friendly and professional service. Then the wine tasting to end an incredible visit is just awesome. Once again top class wine with friendly and professional service just puts the cherry on top.

Breathtaking views. Recommend a breakfast or brunch, so it's not too noisy. The food and service was on point and you will spend way more time than anticipated, enjoying the beauty. They also offer wine tasting.

I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, prepared perfectly, and the service was exceptional. Muntu, one of the staff members, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our visit truly enjoyable. The entire team here made us feel welcomed and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. I highly recommend this place for its fantastic food and outstanding staff hospitality

The food was tasty but I felt like I didn’t have many options as a vegetarian. I basically had two choices and neither was exciting. The pasta was very good though. The service started off great and fast and then after the lunch was served we were forgotten and so we left without dessert.

A picture perfect setting that needs nothing more to invoke happiness. I very rarely eat the first meal out as it’s often hard to be creative with a breakfast menu, yet Postcard cafe manages some creativity inspired by passion and love. Turkish poached eggs(divine) , trout with delicious crème fresh, buttery scrambled eggs, and a side baby spinach salad(even that is dressed in a lovely lemony vinaigrette) Outstanding… Top that off with a late morning wine tasting on the island and it’s a sensory overload…perfect start to the day.

Beautiful place, the grounds are beautiful and well kempt. It was a cold day and there were heaters on in the restaurant. Food is also reasonably priced. The scenery outside is breathtaking. I love mountains and mountains are what I got!

Great restaurant off the beaten path that is in a tranquil and beautiful setting. The view of the lake and the mountain really gives this place an excellent setting. The breakfast options are decent. Coffee was a bit on the burnt side.

The most beautiful view of the Stellenbosch mountains you can imagine. We managed to get a table outside near the little dam and I think it was the best spot ever. Food was delicious… we ordered the bobotie and chicken dish. Wine is also delicious. Would highly recommend for a special lunch or brunch.

Wonderful place for afternoon tea. The cakes are huge and delicious and the setting and gardens spectacular. When we arrived all the outdoor seating was occupied, but even though we didn't have a booked they offered to seat us inside and move us once a table was available. We had hardly looked at the menu before they were able to re-seat is on the edge of the patio overlooking the pond and gardens.

Another absolutely fabulous visit to this "not so secret" li'l gem in the Stellenbosch wine region! I am slowly working my way through their delectable menu and will keep returning... Highly recommended and keep up the excellence!

We had a delicious brunch at Postcard Cafe. The garden is spectacular. It is a tranquil spot and the food is delicious. The portions are very generous. Try and get a table by the lake if the weather is good. Treat yourself!

A friend told me about this place so decided to check it out. We were super lucky the weather was perfect! Made the setting and scenery so beautiful. The food how ever was a bit underwhelming. I ordered a free range teriyaki burger which sounded great on the menu but was not what I was expecting. Even the fries looked great but didn't taste as great as it looked. The bobotie was decent and tasty so that's worth a try. Overall service was decent, and the environment is relaxing and worth coming to see. Wine tasting is done over the day water which is different.

Great location, the views over the lake in the Jonkershoek valley of the Peaks are phenomenal with the mirror effect on the water. The wine tasting on the island is unique and the wines of quality. The service from booking through waiting is great with friendly service. The restaurant is lovely, with great views. Ask to sit outside, as it is actually inside with frameless glass separating you from the elements. Great menu with variety. The Franschoek trout is my favourite so far. 5 stars

Beautiful place. Was taking a drive and just happened across it. The waters are filled with giant koi fish and wine tastings taking place in the center of it all. Almost makes you feel like you walked in on another world if you didn't know it was there.

Truly a majestic view, wine tasting on the water or a meal and cake selection at the postal cafe veranda. Worth a visit! The place is popular and tends to get busy. Staff is friendly. Just wished my chicken piccata wasn’t pink (ate the rest though). If it wasn’t, and the kitchen would have addressed this, I would have given a 5-star rating.

The view is something out of this world. It looked quite busy but staff were very quick to get us a seat, even an hour before closing. We had a light meal, antipasti plate which was great for sharing. Friendly service and great food was just the cherry on top. Come for the view and stay for the food.

The atmosphere and scenery is absolutely amazing! We weren't aware that we needed to book a reservation in advance so we started breakfast with wine tasting. The experience was great. I took my girlfriend for a valentines day outing, and it did not disappoint. Beautiful views and a lot of parking. The staff was helpful and managed to book us a table for lunch. Totally recommend the café!

What a stunning place. Beautiful views, amazing food. Friendly team. Just loved this gem of a place and cannot wait to go back there. The photos do not do this place justice.

Delicious Franschoek smoked trout, and salad was my main dish with decadent chocolate mousse cake for dessert. This eatery is set among a lush garden in beautiful tranquil surroundings. Definitely worth a visit.

Words fail to describe just how beautiful this place is... nestled between the mountains, overlooking a huge pond full of koi's and other fish. You really feel transported into a whole other world. They have lovely outdoor and indoor seating and the staff are incredibly warm and friendly.

Amazing tranquility, beautiful views, great wine delicious food...what more can you ask for?!! We were there on Monday which was not a good idea as it was the first Monday of the year. The place was packed We has booked a table for 12pm, arrived just before 12 but had to wait for at least two hours for it. We did the wine tasting while we waited which was great! I have to commend the staff, they were great even though they were under pressure!!

Beautiful setting, great food with reasonable price. Service also fast considering the restaurant was quite full. Booking in advance is advisable. We were just rocked up there and luckily was table for two at the back still available!

Stunning views and a calming atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly. Definitely book beforehand as it can get quite busy. If you didn't make a reservation, waiting is not a chore either, explore the grounds while the staff organise a table for you. The food, however on the more expensive side, is delicious and filling. Great variety to the menu too.
