This restuarant is cozy and inviting, with interesting artistic finishes on the walls and the warm scent of pastries in the air. The only thing it needs for my 5th star is some teaware to match its unique brand. The bland white cup - with small chip - didn't quite do its delicious contents or beautiful context justice.

Manager/owner is rude. I added a review about slow WiFi and how if you want to work this might not be an ideal place for you but it’s sad that the owner took it the wrong way. Instead of taking it as an honest feedback. They replied to my review by judging me based on what I ordered(which was decent enough for two people who spent 3 hours there). I went their to get some work done while their and support a small cafe in this difficult times instead of going to other big chains. They suggested me to go back home and not work “rent free”. Had heard good things, but this is rude behavior. Had to use my own data the majority of time I was there. Ended up having bad time overall. If your order sum is not up to their “unwritten” limits, they won’t be happy with you.

Absolutely loved my visit here. The staff were friendly, the coffee was amazing (and reasonably priced) and the atmosphere was incredible. Adorable rustic setting, and unlike a few of the cafes in this area, this establishment had ample seating.

Lovely little café with great cakes as well as some savoury options. I was the lucky winner of a Friday Cake Giveaway - I received a beautiful and decadent espresso chocolate cake with salted caramel. Definitely worth a visit, especially on a Friday to enter their cake competition.

The best breakfast spot in Stellenbosch. Also, if you're looking for coffee with soya/almond milk that tastes like the real thing, then this is the place! The staff are friendly, attentive and welcoming. Some even remember your usual order which just shows their attention to detail. The daily breakfast/lunch specials are always a treat. The newly-introduced cake tasting is highly recommended.

It is with sadness that I have dropped my review for this place, as it has been my favourite coffee shop for a while. But the service has just become so annoying. Waitresses don't follow up, they confuse the orders, they take forever to deliver a drink. This has happened a few times and it really spoils the experience of such a homey aesthetic and unique bakery.

I take my hat off to the owner and manager of this place who is a kind and caring human being who has been under tremendous strain from this pandemic, yet still managed to keep his ship afloat, pay all his staff, and still bake exquisite cakes for residents and visitors of stellies. I have never had a bad vibe here. I have taken all my visiting friends and family. It has such a lekker vibe, and excellent food and drinks that are always better, there's just something extra. Like when your mom made you a sandwich with love and it just tastes yummier than when you make your own sandwich. It is love. Everything in this coffee shop has been sprinkled and stirred together with love and care and you can sense it. The food is yummy. The coffee is really delicious. The cakes are the best cakes ever, I mean you need not look any further, this is the place to go for cakes! The red velvet and carrot was my absolute favourites. Go for the family vibes, and the food and drink. Support local. Be lekker.

What a lovley little hidden gem. Would definitely go back to try more of their cakes which are unique and great value for money. Staff were friendly and attentive. The beautiful interior turns into a bit of a greenhouse, but staff did their best to keep us cool. Took an extra slice of the coffee peacan and blackberry cake for the road.

Restaurant has a nice vibe and great location. Unfortunately, our coffee was very weak. A pod not filled properly / single shot in a large cup would do that. Food took a long time to arrive. Ordered french toast with maple syrup as written in their menu, received dish drowning in cheap thick golden syrup, not even a sweet tooth like myself could eat this. It would be best to just be honest about menu ingredients. Rest of food was good.

I was very impressed with the manager on duty this weekend, who was very friendly, and made sure to check that I knew what specials I was missing out on. Really delicious food, and a good space. Sometime the service can be a little slow, but overall it is good.

One of my favorite places in town to grab a coffee and a light brunch or lunch. Edit: Decreasing my rating because I really hate coffee cups without handles. They burn my fingers. Edit: Public holiday and the owners are running it themselves. Quality of the food and coffee is great, and the service good too. Increasing rating by one.

I cannot recommend The Blue Crane and the Butterfly enough when it comes to ordering cakes that are both visually stunning and delicious. Their Chocolate, Espresso, and Salted Caramel Cake was beautifully decorated and thoroughly enjoyed by all. Their willingness to accommodate all our special requests made our birthday celebration even more memorable. I look forward to trying more of their scrumptious flavours in the future!

A lovely little place tucked away I hade the croissant with bacon, tomato & melted Gruyere cheese. This came served open sandwich style with a bonus side of scrambled eggs & salad. Beautiful classic relaxed queerly style decor & very pleasant service

Excellent coffee. Good service and a friendly smile. We were greeted immediately upon entering by a friendly lady at the counter. As it was our first time wwea asked about their house roast beans and were informed that the ladies husband roasted them fresh each day. The coffee was exceptional and prepared well. Milk foam was of a good texture and the coffee had an all round full bodied taste. I ordered the large latte.

Definitely one of my go-to cafe's in Stellenbosch. They have a lovely variety of cakes and good coffee. Their old location on Dorp St was great, and their new location on Church St looks good as well, although I've yet to visit it. Highly recommended.

On the north side of the street is the large cafe which serves breakfast and lunch. Food is delicious and service is excellent. Just across the street on the south side is their coffee bar The Blue Crane Roastery (see photos). Coffee is top notch and both the cafe and coffee bar deserve a 5 star rating. One of the best executed concepts in Stellenbosch.

Had a lovely experience here! The atmosphere was relaxing and the service good. I had banana bread with fresh fruit, it was AMAZING! The coffee was also good. I will definitely be visiting more often!

I went in just for a coffee but i really wanted a breakfast. The staff was kind enough to make me a breakfast meal at 2pm and it was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked couldn't ask for better.
