Perfect farm for a picnic with the young ones. Overall everything is clean and well looked at. We went on a public holiday. The main attraction is obviously the train and track. There are two trains. The morning started with two non-steam trains and at about 12:00 both where replaced with steam trains. The steam trains give you that true train experience. Just keep the steam smell in mind when on the train especially when in the tunnel. Big open space with x2 soccer balls, cones and x1 rugby ball to play with. There is also a jungle gym and sand pit. Lots of trees and benches to enjoy your picnic at. There is a food truck that sells everything from burgers, chips to chicken nuggets. Menu can be seen in photos. Small kiosk building selling coffee and snacks like crisps, sweets and milkshakes.

Clean park for the whole family. If you like mini steam trains, and picnic, this is the ideal place for the perfect family day out. Ride on mini steam trains, enjoy the outdoors with family/friends, lots of safe open space for kids to run around. Order food at their take-away restaurant. A definitive on your bucket list.

We thoroughly enjoyed the train rides, the venue as well as friendly and accommodating staff. The kiosk had very thoughtful items with the family in mind. The venue is a lovely place for family and friends to relax and enjoy themselves while learning more about the craftsmanship behind these fascinating machines

What a lovley Park so near to CapeTown. It is a delight for any young child to visit. Live steam train rides, farm animals, play areas, food, good coffee, snack shop, shaded picnic tables, good restrooms, magnificent mountain views, and safe enough for your children to run free. There is also a display of vintage tractors in immaculate condition! 35 minute drive down the N1 towards Paarl. R60 entrance fee for over 2's, including one train ride. R120 for unlimited rides. Open Fridays, Saturdays, Public and School holidays. This is a must, if you have kids or just to enjoy a quiet day on the lawns in the Shade.

6 stars, 5 isn’t enough. This place is fantastic! They have put so much thought and detail into every aspect. The seating, the variety, the attention to detail. It’s amazing! There’s train rides, a train and tractor museum, ball games, a jungle gym, all sorts of little games sprinkled throughout the park, even for adults. There are even goats. If you have kids this place is an absolute must!

After all the winter rain it was good to get out in nature again. The venue has large well manicured lawns with many big shady trees so definitely pack a picnic. You could even bring your dogs but given all the activity, it is probably advised that they are very well socialised. And then the main attraction, the two trains running around the grounds. One was an old fashioned steam train and the other had an electric engine. Entrance fees are very reasonable and the staff were all super friendly. A fun day out for children of all ages.

Winelands Light Railway Theme Park offers a fun adventure opportunity that caters to visitors of all ages, earning a well-deserved five-star rating. The highlight of the park is undoubtedly the meticulously designed light rails, featuring both steam and electric locomotives. Embarking on these whimsical train rides provides an enchanting journey through the park's captivating landscape. I highly recommend you choose the entrance ticket that includes unlimited train rides. While the complimentary ride ticket allows for a single trip on one of the trains, the unlimited option ensures you can fully immerse yourself in the magic of both the steam and electric locomotives, embarking on multiple captivating journeys. The park itself is a sight to behold, with vast green lawns, beautiful trees, and carefully tended plants. Nature lovers will find tranquility in the peaceful surroundings, while children can have a blast in the well-designed jungle gym areas, guaranteeing endless hours of laughter and play. When hunger strikes, you'll be pleased to find a food truck and coffee shop at your service, offering a delicious array of treats to satisfy your cravings. Alternatively, guests are more than welcome to bring their own picnic baskets and blankets to fully embrace the park's picnic-friendly ambiance. It's important to keep in mind, though, that alcohol is not allowed, ensuring a family-friendly environment that prioritizes safety and everyone's enjoyment. It's worth mentioning that your admission ticket also includes access to a small tractor museum, adding an extra dimension of interest to your visit. Furthermore, the park warmly welcomes pets, making it a pet-friendly destination for all to enjoy. Overall, the Winelands Light Railway Theme Park is an exceptional destination that appeals to visitors of all ages. Its captivating light rails, picturesque surroundings, diverse amenities, and pet-friendly policy make it an ideal outing for families and individuals seeking a memorable and inclusive adventure.

Very nice venue. As festive season is approaching, a suggestion would be to maybe add some Christmas lights in the tunnel

Beautiful spot to spend a family day. Take in your snacks and cool drinks or buy there at the affordable shop and food trailer. They have some games spread out on the lawn, but you can take yours along. The obstacle course for kids, play area, animal area, are all amazing. They seem dog friendly, but I think you have to keep them on lead at all times. I haven't even mentioned the main attraction of the trains... Which are so enjoyable. They offer the gender reveal thing for your baby where the steam train blows blue or pink smoke when coming out the tunnel, which was amazing to witness... Go there yourself to experience it all... I can't rave about it enough.

I sat on a new bench as shown in the pics, it is so comfortable and looks awesome. Thank you for the lovely day. Come prepared: Sun hat, sun block Picnic basket and blankets Ball for kids to play, toys They have food on sale and hot and cold beverages as well. What an incredible place to visit. This is wonderful for young and old. Wonderful grassy area to bring a picnic and enjoy the steam and electric trains. Venture to the back to find the toilets and small cafe area but the place has lawn games, Frisbee, bats etc. Something for the entire family.

All aboard 🚂 I'm not sure who had more fun, me or the kids 🤣 We went for a kids birthday party - what a great idea! You can take your own party packs and picnic. R120 gets you entry and unlimited rides. You wait at the station for your turn to get on the train and you through a dark tunnel which is trilling for the kids. There is a food truck and a tuck shop where you can buy food and coffee etc. no alcohol allowed or for sale. Purely a family spot.

We had a birthday party for our Little niece, Meelah, the kids were on the train all day, wide open well grassed spaces for them to play with the provided balls and toys In the play area. A peacefull place to relax and forget about time, away from the hustle and bustle of the City. Loved It.

Amazing place to go. There is a wonderful big lawn with balls and bats and frisbees for the kids to play surrounded by trees with tables. The train ride was so much fun and my little one enjoyed it so much. Will definitely be going back and worth checking out. Did not make use of the kiosk, but I know there is one and you can take your own food in.

Enjoyed the park and lovely picnic spot with our kids and grandchild. The train ride was a nice experience and affordable as well. There is a food truck for some kiddies and adult takeaways, but a picnic basket really does the trick for a day full of fun.
