Cucina di Giovanni at Eikendal

Restaurant

👍👍 Great food, friendly service and the best cheese cake ever!! Can't wait to go back when the weather is better so that I can sit outside under the trees. There is a play area outside for those with kiddies. Be sure to book ahead of time, as it gets busy. People often mention good, service, lunch, delicious, friendly, restaurant,

Always a pleasure. Great venue with great food with reasonable prices. Its a very popular spot and must book well in advance. Children and pet friendly.

Really good food and atmosphere. I believe, due to the high number of outdoor tables, all occupied for Sunday lunch, was the reason that my plate of Linguine a la Scampi arrived luke warm. However, the quality of the meal was very good.

We really had a great evening here. Very full and service was slow. Waiters a bit overwhelmed, but friendly and efficient. Would love to come when it is not so crowded.... loved that we could bring the dogs with.... ❣️❣️🍷🍷🍷

We have been here multiple times and have loved our experience each time. There was a little confusion with the service today, but it was very forgivable. My MacMac Pizza with Chorizo and added salami was so good I had to keep eating till the last bite. The bases on the pizzas are just the right thickness and crunchy and delicious. We tested the signature Eikendal Merlot 2020 and ended up buying a couple extra to take home. You need to be a bit careful with the weather here as indoor seats are limited. This place is kid friendly and safe and a relaxing place for lunch and a drink.

Do not come hungry!! The kitchen cannot handle the amount of tables the restaurant can seat and service is always a disappointment. When you call, waiters tell you the restaurant is fully booked but we have gone 3 times now when after being told via phone call they are fully booked, but when we come through they indeed have MORE THAN 7 available tables open each time. The last 3 visits we have waited 1 hour and 17 min on average for our meal. Unfortunately a disappointing dining experience although food quality is good and the pizza’s never disappoint. I feel there are more deserving establishments.

In my opinion, an enjoyable, delicious, and affordable experience. The atmosphere was okay. At times people would be loud. However, the food makes up for it. The pizza was not too thick and thin, with just enough toppings and cheese. The pasta was delicious. I usually expect it to be bland, but it was not! I would recommend you to come here with your friends, but remember, if it rains, please bring an umbrella or you'll get soaked!

Once again Cucina di Giovanni at Eikendal manages to impress! I've been here a few times and loved it every time. The pizzas are wonderful in taste and great in variety. The atmosphere is cosy (if you're inside) and picturesque (if you're outside). Apart from that, they also have many other dishes and good wines as well. The service was also good. A special shout out to Lewis for being a dedicated, friendly and charismatic waiter. We will definitely go again!

Wonderful location with a menu filled with amazing dishes. Try the pizza or chicken livers or go for a burger. You can also just stick to full-size appetizers. Everything is worth the price. We will definitely be back.

It was so great everything was just perfect from the environment, service, and food. It was just so relaxing. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and we decided to take out the kids today.

This place has such a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately I ordered the Alfredo pasta and it’s safe to say they don’t specialize in that. All the other meals looked nice but I didn’t try it..

This restaurant had some good reviews so we decided to stop for the risotto. The risotto itself was probably a three but when I added the extra garlic and peppers to it it brought it up to a 4. My wife had the chicken cannelloni and it was also a three. We decided we would also try the risotto balls and we felt like those were the worst part of the meal. That said, it’s a beautiful vineyard to check out if you’re in the area. It’s also a comprehensive menu so I’m sure you’d be able to find something you like. There was also a cute tiny frog that sat on my wife’s chair during the whole meal.

Midweek winefarm lunch at Giovanni's Eikendal It’s taken me far to long to visit this winefarm and restaurant that I’ve heard so much about and I’m so happy we finally made it happen. It was a very damp, grey, chilly day in Cape Town and I assumed going for early lunch at 12:30 without a booking wouldn’t be a problem - (it’s only the beginning of November). Well it seems like season 2022 has kicked in early! The winefarm is beautiful with lots to see and explore. We got to the restaurant and saw it was full on the inside. I was happy to see that but also upset because well I was hungry! It was to cold to sit outside. Chatted to the staff who very kindly asked the wine tasting room section if we could sit there for lunch. After seeing various meals walking past us, we knew we had to try a pizza. We ordered The Don which was beyond divine especially the chorizo. The Veal cordon Bleu was the show stopper in my opinion with emmental cheese for days!! The Veal Piccata with fresh cream and mushroom, thinly sliced veal, so soft and moorish. If we had space we would’ve ordered the tiramisu it looked life changing. Very polite, attentive and friendly staff. We will definitely be back and soon.

OMG! What an absolutely stunning setting! And the food was well worth it. Taste, presentation and portions - perfect. Service couldn't be faulted either. My family and I will be back!

Went to Eikendal for a birthday supper and the food and service was amazing. if that is the quality of the food you get there then I really don't mine paying a few (emphasizing few) rands more than other commercial restaurants. Keep it up and I WILL see you again

The food is delicious and well presented. The waiters are attentive . On a cold day the inside is nice and cozy. The pricing is a bit on the steeper side. I can definitely recommend the Eisbien and the lamb shank is delicious esp if you add the butternut and creamed spinach as an extra to the dish.

Wow, alfresco dining at its most enjoyable. Loved sitting under the beautiful old trees, watching the scenery. Good food.

Good wine, good food, large portions, value for money. Lovely atmosphere and setting. Very peaceful. The resident cat is too cute. The a la scampi pasta is my most favorite and the cheesecake is out of this world! Never had a bad meal here.
